Hello everyone

Well done Moosey and Knightbabe

Chris feel free to use my wodge of podge so to speak!!!

The little fella definitely has tonsilitis, hubby took him to the GP this morning.
The poor child must think I'm bonkers I pulled the duvet off him at the crack of dawn to check he didn't have any rash. The GP said what a healthy boy he is since hadn't seen him in five years. Those months of having bosoms that had more milk than a cow have done some good then.

I've not weighed myself again but I'm still doing well. I was at the big fella's school tonight as we had a meeting about his Rome trip so couldn't gym and tomorrow is my father's birthday he will be 66 so I won't go now until Wednesday.

Right I must get to my bed

Goodnight godbless
Michele

If I'm doing this right-I should be having 4378 calories on work out days
And 3565 calories on a normal day-that's never right? :?:

PROPER peed off today. I measured myself and I've not only put weight on I've put on 2" around my belly! I seriously don't get this. :( Oh well... fingers crossed for next week!

Congrats on the loss Moosey! You can carry on calling me Skully or whatever if you want hehe! ;)

Hello one and all - congrats to the 'losers' amongst you!

Sorry I have not been here for a while I have been trying to write an essay -800 words no less (I know - small potatoes to those of you who are doing essays regular like but I have not done one for over 20 years!!!).

I get in to day to work to findI cannot get into any files on my 'pooter and IT are so uninterested. Waaaah! I managed to save them to another file and did n't have to retype from scratch the day before I have to send it off!!

Yes I know the answer is to save it to disk but I cannot as the disc thingy does not work. I am having it looked at.

It is Peacock's Mummy's 77th today. She is in a chirpy mood which is different to the mood she was in when she left the doctors. She gets very swollen legs and ankles (we are talking elephantitis here!). All the doc said was put your feet up. The skin swels so much it cracks! The hairdresser even commented that she was not her usual cheery self.

Anyway I got her 2 videos including the Keira Knightly version of Pride and Prejudice. She got 2 pair of shoes and most importantly my little neice and nephew got her 'rubby out pens' for her crosswords!!!! (i.e. ink pens that can be erased). She is still on such top form that she still o'ked making me a lemon meringue pie when I come down this weekend. Hurrah!!!

veggie 01-22-2008 11:03 AM

Happy Birthday Mummy Peacock. :D

I think that could be wrong, it tells me I should be having over 5000 KCAL a day... god if I ate more than 3000 I would gain weight... I am only having around 1500 - 2000 a day at the moment, not as though I am closely monitoring it but then on the other hand I am not hungry and full of energy!

Moosegirl 01-22-2008 04:32 PM

Michelle – I hope the little one is feeling better soon.

My friends little girl is in hospital today she had her tonsils out this morning!

HM – I did that calculation and it said I should be having over 5000kcal a day… somehow I think that was way wrong! Lol

I bought a juicer today… a good one much better than the cheapy one I last had which didn’t last two months! Ordered a juicing book so I am looking forward to whipping up some fruit and veggie juices!

Mm, I think it's wrong too!

I've had it drummed into me since being on Slimming world, not to juice fruits. Something to do with the sugars or something.

I ate pretty well today more than usual-but I bet I gain again!

Got another hours walk tomorrow. I'm aching just thinking about it!:o

BritinNJ 01-22-2008 11:14 PM

Hello all  :hb: to peacock's Mummy...

My baby's birthday today too... she's 18, an adult in her own right. She's had most of the day with me as she doesn't go back to school until tomorrow so we've had a wonderful time together, went and got manicures and pedicures, my hands and feet are ravishing...then we had a healthy subway lunch and this evening I took her out to dinner and was a bit of a  and had a choccy sort of dessert... will work extra hard tomorrow at work and on the :tread: to work it out, although this evening I did do some hand weights so that's something :)

I did that sum too girls, it was something daft like 3000 cals... RSG, can you help us out with this?

Also, I was saying before about NOT going under 1200 cals a day, because your bod shuts down.. but most people can lose weight on 1200, 2500 depending on their weight and exercise, so sorry if there was any confusion.

Ok, well time to set the coffe pot and do a few dishes before beddie byes... see you all tomorrow, sweet dreams

That’s the reason I don’t follow diet plans, I don’t agree with half the crap they say! Lol

Juice is full of natural sugars, as a diabetic I should not be having so much sugar even in natural form but since my diabetes is now under total control I am going to juice for England!

I am really going to use it for gaining the vitamins more than anything a complete more natural approach to this diet…

As for the juicer going to have to trek back to Tesco to take it back as part of it is broke, hoping they have another in stock as reading the instructions it’s really easy to use… some great ideas in the juicing book I bought in ASDA for recipes!

kn1ghtbabe 01-23-2008 05:27 AM

I tried the calculation as well and in order to lose weight it said I had to be eating 3,500 cals per day!!! Way out I think. I am sat trying to type with the puppy sat on the laptop. Struggling to see half the keys.

redsoxgirl 01-23-2008 06:45 AM

Sorry Ladies...I can't really help, that was sent to me by a friend who got it from her trainer. It has me at over 2000K which I don't think I would lose on either. I'll ask her if there are any stipulations like people in a certain weight range should use it????? Who knows.

I work out a lot so I try to eat about 1800 a day and I can usually lose with that.

I miss running, I need this weather to get better here, the wind is crazy.

Off to school I go, my kids were nuts yesterday lets hope today they are a little more relaxed, I think 3 out of 10 got suspended yesterday!!!!

peacock 2 01-23-2008 07:42 AM

Thanks to all for Peacock's Mum's birthday wishes. I am a rotten daughter - I found a photo of her from a few Christmases ago where she was very poorly and had the duvet round her on a chair. I entitled it 'Party girl 'aving it large' and sent it to my Dad!!!!

She has already seen the photo but will not be pleased to see it again!!

I am feeling quite calm after yesterday's hysteria of not being able to get into my course work on the 'pooter and the help (NOT!) from the IT dept. I have now sent my essay off and when I am paid tomorrow I am going to celebrate!!! Talk about blood, sweat and tears!

I am going to relax at Mum's this weekend (not too much I have another tutor marked assigment that needs to be in by Feb 1st - aaaaaagh!).

I haven't even weighed myself but as I am not struggling too much to put my trousers on it must be ok.

Did anyone see the Jamie Oliver thing about those fast food addicts and what they eat?

Dolores Claibourne 01-23-2008 08:57 AM

Haven’t posted for ages. Have been jumping on and off the old diet bus all year. It’s one step forward and two steps back with me. So I’m trying again because really if I’m not taking it off I’m putting it on (and I’m only five foot...well five foot square actually). Am thinking about going to WW this evening. I prefer counting calories but the weekly weigh in is a good thing for me. (Although I find it hard to make the time every week.) mmmm can’t decide. (Wish I could say that was out of character but sadly it isn’t.)
I have two lovely sons and the oldest one has just moved out so I’ve been clearing out his wee bedroom, getting rid of ephemera going back a few years, a lot of happy memories in there...although the lad is only twenty minutes down the road it’s a sore one right enough, I have to keep telling myself that a packet of cream crackers and half a pound of Lurpack won’t make me feel any happier. (Does anyone one else like cream crackers, or is it just me?) Off for a walk in the icy rain now, it’s coming down like stair rods.
Might listen to some Lenny Cohen on the iPod...Just to cheer myself up...he he.

Have a good day.

peacock 2 01-23-2008 11:44 AM

I asked my Dad if he received the picture and whether or not Mum had seen it.

His reply:

Yes,yes, I pinned it up in the dining room and waited for Mum to see it. Looooong wait, so I pointed at it. Head turned to avoid it, so I stood by it saying "Have you seen this?"
Response at last = "No, I haven't"

This is typical of my mum!

Dad once bought her a microwave. She was out at evening class and we decided to surprise her. We turned the kitchen lights off and when she came in we all hinted that we wanted a tea. She huffed about us sitting there not bothering to make one ourselves and to pay us back went into the kitchen without putting the lights on. So when she came back out with the teas I asked her if she had noticed anything different. No came the reply. I asked her to go back and look. Sher was not happy to do so. She still saw nothing. My dad had to take her into the kitchen by the hand and point to it!!! She did see it then and was pleased with it!!!!

No but I saw a bit of that superskinny v supersize last night I was upset as Gillian McKeith turned up on it without anyone warning me. I was too scared to watch Jamie as I read there was an autopsy on it. :fr:

kn1ghtbabe 01-23-2008 02:55 PM

I read somewhere about Jamie Oliver and an autopsy so I didn't watch it either. Also missed superskinny v supersize - mainly cos I forgot it were on. My memory isn't what it use to be.

Someone else doesn't like Gillian McKeith either! lol

denialisnthappiness 01-23-2008 04:07 PM

I was disappointed by the supersize vs superskinny - it actually could have been a good opportunity to look at habits/instinctive eating that people have but I found it to be a bit too gimmicky for my liking :(

sarahgrace 01-23-2008 04:17 PM

I've been a bit quiet cos I was on call at the weekend and the phone just didn't stop. I was so tired Sunday night I forgot to set my alarm! I only overslept slightly cos I got another call at 8am Monday morning!!

however the enforced non-drinking paid off cos i lost 2lbs this week :) This means that i've lost all the Xmas wieght plus one more pound.

A group of us at my WW are starting to walk on Sunday mornings which might be fun. I'm thinking of going this week.

kn1ghtbabe 01-24-2008 07:49 AM

It is 12:45 and I have just realised why my belly is rumbling. I didn't get round to eating my breakfast this morning!! So I am eating my breakfast and dinner in one. Have listed 48 items on ebay and got about another 20-30 to go, but need to do pics first. My clothes rail is looking rather empty now.

Clydegirl 01-24-2008 09:06 AM

Morning everyone. Brrr it's cold.

Ebay I have so much stuff I could sell on there. I have no clue as to how to go about it. I have given so much stuff to Goodwill the past few weeks.

My weigh in day and I lost 3 lbs :carrot:

I've no idea who Gillian McKeith is. Why does everyone dislike her so much?

Chris sent H's card yesterday sorry it's so late.

BritinNJ 01-24-2008 09:15 AM

Moring all

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrass monkey weather here too....and we're forcast some bloody snow this evening... great for moving the curves guff over the night tonight and tomorrow...

CG, watch BBCA in the afternoon and you'll meet GIllian MCKeith, she's a self professed 'Dr' and she tells people what to eat and checks their pooh...she's Scottish :)

Thanks for the birthday wishes for Hannah Veggie... yes 18... must mean I'm like 30 something now I reckon  She had a good day though, bless her. She's working at the mo...she comes home and I leave for work.

Congrats on the three down CG... brill of course...you too SG...I must weigh myself tomorrow, prob put on by having birthday dessert... must work out more.

Ok, must hang some washing up and do some bits before walking Pen and Lewdo.

See you all later, stay warm.

micheleherts 01-24-2008 11:10 AM

Hello everyone

Peacock just love your humour! Hope Hannah had a great day Chris blimey I remember my 18th as if it were yesterday. I thought I was so grown up.
Clydegirl well done on those 3lbs.

My son has recovered thank god but he took today off school. I am absolutely exhausted as my mother has been admitted into hospital she wasn't really improving but she went voluntarily so it was a relief hopefully she will only be in there a few days. Anyway the house needed tidying the dishwasher had conked it, so I paid my son a tenner to clean up oh I am just terrible, he was pottering away and shouted does that tenner include the washing up I went to say no darling I will do that but instead I said ok sweetheart do that too!! Anyway a great job has been done annnnnnnnd he has agreed that I can tell Martin (my husband) that I did the housework and so I will look truly saintly!!!

Parents evening tonight for the big fella. Then dash to the hospital then pop in to see how my father is. It's all go but I'm fine.

Yesterday i did eat a load of biscuits but managed to get a grip as I don't want to do the comfort thing.

Hope you are having a good day

Love Michele xxxxx

Clydegirl 01-24-2008 05:51 PM

Oh brother!!

Well my doctor just called with my blood work results.

Everything was good except my cholesterol.

It came in at a whopping 275 :censored: :censored:

I'm going to go over tomorrow and get the results in paper.

I am really motivated to get this weight off now. I've to repeat it in 4 months and he wants me to lose wieght and cut down on the fat.

I've lost 6 lbs since new year and have started exercising. So that's a good start.

It's never been this high but I was out of control the last few months of '07.

Clydegirl 01-24-2008 05:55 PM

This has to be in a seperate post.

I'm going on a girl's night out tomorrow with a friend that I volunteer with. I don't know the other people.

We have a pot luck at one of the girls' house. Then we're being picked up by limo and driven to a local winery where they are having a comedy night. I'm looking forward to it as it's a while since I had a night out.

I will report back on Saturday.

redsoxgirl 01-24-2008 07:38 PM

Peacock one time I bought a fish and put it in a bowl on the kitchen counter, my roommate didn't notice for a whole weekend!!!

CG, wine is good for cholesterol :)

Been to the gym every day this week, planning to go tomorrow and sleep and lounge on Saturday.

Have a great night all.

Moosegirl 01-25-2008 03:45 AM

Just popping in to wish you a good weekend everyone!

veggie 01-25-2008 10:02 AM

I've rejoined slimming world :) I was half a pound lighter than when I weighed at Boots on Tuesday so that's good. :p

sarahgrace 01-27-2008 11:05 AM

I've had a better weekend this week. We had people over last night which was good. I also went shopping yesterday and came back with everything in a size 12 which was a bonus. :carrot:

I met up with a couple of women from WW today and we did a couple of circuits of Edgbaston Reservoir this morning :)

BritinNJ 01-27-2008 07:32 PM

It's snowing here... six inches on the ground so far, and driving home.. one mile from work took me fifteen minutes as you can't see where the middle or the edges of the roads are...horrible and it's supposed to continue through the night!

With working over this weekend setting up for the Grand Opening, we have eaten a load of crap on the run, I feel bloated, upset tummy feeling and thoroughly FAT!!!!

Back on track tomorrow...this feeling is awful! Hope that you're all ready for another week...eat well :)

Moosegirl 01-29-2008 03:46 AM

Welcome Dinky...

kn1ghtbabe 01-29-2008 04:11 AM

Bad day yesterday. Back on track today.
Snow??? Is that cold white stuff??? It's been so long since I've seen any proper snow. All we get here is a sprinkle.
Well yesterday we had no heating. Hubby 'repaired' it when he got home. Now the heating is stuck to being on permanently. I'm considering sorts and vest top to walk round the house today as it is sooooooo hot.

veggie 01-29-2008 11:31 AM

Not official weigh in - lost 2 pounds just have to keep it off until I go to slimming world in a few days now. :o I had a bad Friday and Saturday. :o

Clydegirl 01-29-2008 12:45 PM

Morning girls.

Well had a good time Friday night. We were in a huge limo seated 20 people. There were 12 of us so it was a fun trip. We went to a ladies night at a local winery. They had food, samples of wine, music, games , dancing and karaoke. I did karaoke for the first time in my life. A good night, enjoyed it.

I'm sick now got a nasty cold/cough. Taking it easy today.

Well done Veggie on those 2 lbs.

Moosegirl 01-29-2008 03:56 PM

I wish we could get some snow!

sarahgrace 01-29-2008 05:20 PM

I don't want snow cos I hate having to drive in it!! Student nurses are officially bad for your diet- they always buy me chocolates which is very nice of them but still..... I ate far too many of them yesterday. I gave them to my boss to hide on his desk in his office. He thought I was being strange but it did work, I only had 1 today. :)

BritinNJ 01-29-2008 08:15 PM
