Summer 2008

Yeah Yeah I know its a long way off, we’ve only just finished this summer but because of the lovely British weather this year, I'm off to sunnier climates next year.

I've booked a holiday for May next year, going with husband’s family and NO kids so I want to be able to at least wear a pair of shorts that I can fasten, button and zip, not elastic.

Hopefully I'll be wearing smaller lighter clothes which will leave more room in the case for duty free and presents for the kids.

Fingers crossed x

Good luck come join in the Christmas challenge if you haven't aready. :)

KforKitty 09-02-2007 03:47 PM

Diane

I've also booked for me and hubby to go away without kids next May. We're going to New York, where are you going? We are going to Orlando in 8 weeks time (includes the kids this time). I've lost 35lb in the last 4 months and am hoping to lose another 12-15lb before then to get me into holiday clothes I wore 5 years ago!

Its a long road but we can do it!

Yes Scottish Diane - where are you off to (I am nosey, me).

I really thought back in March that I would have done it for August (lost weight that is) but nope - instead I gained. I can blame this on the unsettled atmosphere at work and the worry but no one put an eclair to my mouth, did they???!

I am back on a diet and try to keep up with Knightbabe's 1 lb a week until Christmas but also hope to see a lot less of me (and you two!) by the time your 2008 holidays are due!!!

scottishdiane 09-03-2007 01:09 PM

Hi Guys

I'm of to Benidorm (Costa Blanca) for a week. Were flying out to meet hubbys parents, brother and sister who are going for 2 weeks. Were surprising them the second week. We both bought dressing up outfits for the occasion as they have been asking us for years to go on holiday with then but because of the kids ages we never managed it. Now the 2 oldest are old enough to look after the youngest and with help from other family members were off for a good time.

As its our first time on holiday as a couple I may even buy a new outfit to surprise him;) even though we’ve been married 17 years.

I'm aiming for 1lb a week, but after today it’s more likely to be + 1lb a week. (Had a really bad day in the office). Dam that biggest box of chocolates in the office ever!

I want to be in a bikini by next summer..I can just taste it. Now if only I could tan instead of burning

scottishdiane 09-03-2007 01:39 PM

Hi bnorah

I agree, I've even bought the bikini, size 16 its hanging up on the front of the wardrobe as a reminder of what im trying to achieve.

Lets hope by next year I'll have a body to show it of on :carrot:

We won't be going away until October 2008, unless we can sneak an extra holiday in some where. We will be celebrating 10 years together in October 2008 so are planning a special holiday. Mauritus, Barbados or Jamaica. Hoping to be a lot lighter by then.

sh3l5 09-26-2007 10:57 AM

likewise i wana be in a bikini next summer.

scottishdiane 10-03-2007 08:18 AM

That bikinis still hanging up waiting for me to fit into it. I nearly tried it on last night but fought temptation as I would have been disheartened if it didn't fit (which it won't yet).

I've started going back to the gym this week but worried that with all the exercise I might start gaining a bit of weight

Any advice?

SarahJayne 10-03-2007 09:35 AM

I am getting re-married in July. I don't want to set myself date related goals because I know I lose weight slower than most and I want to keep a positive head. However, I just would like to wear a smaller size than I did last time (I am a widow). That should be about 25 lbs away.

KforKitty 10-03-2007 09:49 AM

I was married in July and in 2008 it will be our 16th anniversary. I have a crazy idea about fitting into my wedding dress which still hangs in the back of my wardrobe (I made it myself). However I'd need to lose about another 80lb which is probably unrealistic - I'm going to give it a go though.

Diane go to the gym. You will tone up and lose inches :)

scottishdiane 12-27-2007 09:37 AM

Well that’s Xmas over and done with for another year, and as of the 1st Jan there will be 20 weeks until I go on holiday.

I know ill push it to loose 20lbs but there’s no harm in trying.

I have gained a few lbs over Christmas which I could have done without so from now until 1st Jan I won't be weighing myself, I'd like to try and loose the weight before taking a reading on the 1st then hopefully losing 20lbs before holiday.

Does 20lbs sound reasonable to you or am I expecting too much?

KforKitty 12-28-2007 03:37 PM

Hi Diane

I'm sure if you set your mind to it you could lose the 20lb in 20 weeks. I've managed to lose 2lb this week and even allowed myself to have Xmas pudding on Christmas day. I've lost a stone since I came back off holiday on 12 November.

Hi Folks, Im an ex uk chick living in Spain now and I am so sick of feeling fat,
sweaty and ugly in the summers here. I am determined this year will be different, I have a long long way to go but Im gonna get there.

Good luck to all of you and have a happy summer. :)

scottishdiane 12-29-2007 09:58 AM

It was my holiday photos from this year that made me realise I need to loose weight. I know a camera can make you look bigger but not that big. It did take me 4 months to get started on the diet as I think I was still in denial. That was until my sister sent me a copy of her photos with a pic of me and her in it and I looked hugh. I think that was the shock I needed to get going.

At the time I didn't think I was so bad, the clothes I bought fitted fine, but then I was buying 18/20 sizes so in a way I mentally believed I was thinner than I was because the clothes fitted better, I just chose to ignore the clothes sizes.

This year will be exactly 1 year since I last went on holiday and hopefully I will be a 14/16. I've got a 16 bikini hanging on the wardrobe door so its the first thing I see in the morning to keep me motivated. What would be even better would be me giving it away if it didn't fit.:carrot:
