is anyone taking reductil?

Hello i have been prescribed reductil today by the doctor and i was just wondering if anyone else it on it at the moment. I know there are some older threads with people saying they are taking it but is anyone still taking reductil. Thankyou Emma x:)

Hey Emma, I absolutely adore Reductil. I was on it for a while a few months ago, and it seemed to have worked for me. I wish you the best of luck sweetie.

Hi Emma, I was prescribed it by my Dr last week and in my first week I've lost 5lbs I think its great up to now the only thing which has affected me is feeling thirsty and having a dry mouth.

How are you getting on, have you had your first weigh in yet. I think it really works :carrot: (fingers crossed).

Helenxx.

I was on this before. It was great to begin with. I lost 16lbs in the first month but toward the end of the month it stopped working for me so I had to come off it. I ended up putting that weight back on and then some due to stresses at home but I am now using Xenical which is much more suited to me so far (but its early days).

they reduce the feelings of hunger by blocking nerves that send signals to your brain to tell it you are hungry. They can have side effects but I never experienced any. You also cant take them if you suffer from high blood pressure. Prescription only although you can get them off the net (not recommended!!)

I'm not sure if it is different in Scotland but I booked an appointment with the weightloss clinic and expressed my desire at wanting to lose weight. They said they normally make you lose half a stone on your own first but she thought it was paramount I started to lose as soon as possible so prescribed the reductil for me. I then had to go back regularly for check ups.

Maybe go to your nurse and talk about the possibility of some medical help for your weight problem? Some surgeries are more willing than others to give that sort of help.

I think you have to have a bmi of 35-40+ to qualify.

I have been on reductil about 4 months and have lost 2.5 stones and reduced my BMI by 6. Give it a go - worth a try.
