Default Build - large/medium small?

Does anyone know how you figure out what kind of build you are? Like many people who's weight has fluctuated over the years, I've always been told - 'Oh, you're big built'. I'm starting to question this a bit!

I've just measured round my wrist, it's 15.5cm/6.1".
I've also measured from one 'shoulder knobble bone' (that is the medical term right?) to the other and it's 38.1cm/15".

Does that make me big, medium or small?

ETA inches for those who work in imperial!

Hi

I just found this webpage - about half way down it gives a chart thingy about determining frame size from wrist measurements. According to that webpage at 5ft 7 and with a wrist measurement of less than 6.5 inches your frame is 'medium'.

Looks like at 5ft 6 and with a wrist measurement of 6.25 ins I'm a medium as well.

Interesting!

According to that I am small frame (which is what I thought) and it means my goal weight of 133 is in the middle of the ideal weight range for my height of 5 feet 9 so thanks for that i am pleased I am aiming for the correct weight

Very interesting - at 5 ft 5 I am officially large with a whopping 7" inch wrist!!

I am going to keep on measuring on my journey to see if this changes, I am interested to see if we store much fat around our wrists.

Oh we definitely do - I can easily get the tip of thumb and middle finger of my left hand to meet when I wrap them round my right wrist - when I was 18st they were nowhere near touching.

I've just been measuring round my work colleague's wrists and it's thrown up a few surprises! Personally I'm a medium build and always thought I was large...I feel a bit better about that!

Hmm I have a "small" frame. Yeah RIGHT! You see my MAN hands here and my BIG FEET???? You see my hyuge bulging muscles??? Small. My

I've just seen my "ideal" weight 126-139lbs! THAT's 9 STONE to 9 STONE 13lbs! I'd be a barbie with ribs poking out all over the place at that weight! Not to mention probably having no periods and looking like a waif and NO MUSCLES! I probably wouldn't be able to get through 2 hours of kickboxing if I was eating little enough to weigh 9 stone

Heeeee heee heee!

Well that was good for a laugh at least!

My wrists are big too and it puts me of course as a large frame. My goal weight is right at the top of the ideal weight range for my height. I know that even when a few sizes smaller my boobs are still pretty big so 147 is probably a pretty good weight for me!

Anyone else measure the both wrists?

I'm right handed. My left wrist measures 5.75ish making me a small frame and my right wrist is bang on 6" making me a medium! i reckon I have a quarter inch of muscle on my right wrist from being right-handed I'm aiming for 125-130 which seems about right either way and explains why I look quite so porky at 149.

Very interesting. I also found that my right wrist is 3/4" larger than my left. I kept goats for several years, and I wonder if that contributed (from milking), or if it's just being right-handed. So at 5'4" I'm either a medium (left hand) or a large (right hand) frame! We'll see where I am when I get back closer to my goal.
