Danger Time!

What is everyones 'danger time' ie: when you really want to eat? Mine is definitely in the evenings, I have my dinner usually around half six then by eight I have the munchies and go foraging in the kitchen!! I am trying to think of tasty things I can snack on which wont wreck my good efforts throughout the day - so far I have come up with cup a soup, snack a jacks, crabsticks or chopped up veg with salsa to dip, anyone got any good ones to share? (i prefer savoury things) :carrot:

Afternoon in the office. I lose focus and want to nibble while I'm stuck infront of the pc. I like the mini babybel lites - fairly low fat but high protein so stop me feeling hungry.

Definetly at night when I'm watching TV.

Evenings for me, too. I'm good all day but once I've cleared away dinner I just graze all the time. :( :( :(

in the evening most definitely. i also have to be really careful, if i have overeaten the evening before, i get starving the next morning and eat to much then too. (last night comes to mind:( )

things i like are cup a soups (also the 10 cal soups from s/way i think), ww puddings, low fat hummous and mini ryvitas (my fave), go ahead bars or if im especially good some fruit. mad
ps if you like savoury things then sainsbury do these mini pots of low fat hummous. dont know about you, but once i start i cant stop so they are ideal at around 90 calories

in the evening for me too. but i follow a strict routine that means i carnt eat after 7pm nothing at all (unless its tuesday when i get weighed, then i dont have my tea till ive come back about 8ish)
snack a jack popcorn is really good. its only got 46 cals per bag and it takes u ages eat a bag so that always cures my munchies.

Tea break at work time. Lots of yummy biscuits around!

Definately at night for me, but only when I can't sleep until 2 am or so. It's quite common for that to happen as I have to sleep in the afternoons because of having ME. We have dinner at about 6pm and I usually have another snack of fruit or yoghourt about 9pm. If I'm asleep at a reasonable time that's OK, but by 2am it's 5 hours since I ate anything so my stomach starts growling!!:^:

I'm a sweet tooth so not much use for savoury snacks except for humous and veggies.

Mine is evening too, although I'm fine if DH is here but he works away most of the week and that is when I struggle, which just goes to prove that with me it is boredom not hunger:o .

This week I have been having cucumber and carrot sticks dipped in quark which has been mixed with 2 tablespoons of blue dragon sweet chilli dipping sauce, it is suprisingly yummy(someone brought it in to the SW meeting for people to try and I was really surprised) and best of all the dipping sauce is only half a sin for 2 tbsp and the rest is free on slimming world:)

Evenings here too. At work I have all my food with me and make it stretch through the day, but in the evening the kitchen is there and calling to me. Sometimes I have to set the burglar alarm downstairs and go upstairs to watch tv in an attempt to stop any fridge raiding. It's not that it's hard to turn the alarm off, but the fact that I have to do it reminds me that I'm not meant to be nibbling all night.

i ate last night 2 pieces of toast a bag of crisps and a mini choccy bar:( do you thinkthis will effect my weight in? i may just starve my self from monday night till my weigh in on tuesday.
so monday ill have breakky n dinner then miss tea and wont eat again till tuesday night.
will that help my weigh in. i no i no its dangerous butn i really want a loss this week.

I don't imagine it would do you any good in the long rin Nicola, if you stick to the diet until weigh in then you've still got a good chance of losing. One momnent of weakness doesn't tend to make that much of a difference.

The evenings are my danger times too, I usually crave chocolate at that time of night for some reason. I keep in some packets of Options for the chocolate cravings, and some weight watchers / highlights biscuits. If you've got a few calories left over then the Weight watchers frozen desserts are great for a sweet tooth, and if I fancy something savoury, then I usually go for Ryvita mini's or vegetable sticks with cottage cheese.

nicolae - What exercise do you do? you could just do some extra to burn off what you ate - i went on the cross trainer at the gym the other day and 20 mins burns 320 cals!!!

I have found seasons crisps are really good for a snack, they are really tasty and satisfy my craving!

Mine is in the evening too. I just seem to want to pick and once I start thinking about it, I sit on the sofa itching to go and explore the cupboards. I wonder if it is something about me time as I am either working or with the kids and it is something about relaxing and sitting down. (Though if I am in the kitchen working in the evening I want to pick). Rewarding myself for working I think!

Strange that we're all the same with this .... stranger still that our danger time is after what is probably our largest meal of the day. :dizzy:

I don't really crave any particular foods - it used to be cheese but I seem to have gotten over that now - at the moment any food will do, just so long as its 'easy' (doesn't need any preparation). I know that eating in the evenings isn't recommended but I'm wondering if eating a proper 'supper' might stop the grazing - something small - maybe a couple of hundred calories. :?: I might give it a try for a week - prepare it while I'm cooking dinner and eat it at about 8.30 to 9ish.
