Stick with it
I was in the same situation. The group was more of a social outing, talking about grandkids, etc. I stayed in that group for 8 months, learned the ropes, then started a chapter at my work. We have lunch time meetings, as a lot of people work flex-time, so after work meetings aren't possible.
The best thing is these people are my peers as we work together. We have opportunities to see each other daily and offer support. We have just re-committed ourselves to doing better in 2006, and to start making the changes we need to make in our lifestyles in order to accomplish our goals. I am currently the leader and I have started new contests to try to keep members motivated. Our chapter only offer incentives...no charging for weight gains, members are struggling enough without having to worry about that. Good Luck in 2006! |
I am 52 and there are only 2 members out of 27 that are younger than me (mid 40's). We have 2 KOPS. I look to everyone for guidance and encouragement. Most of them have been members for many years. Our meetings are held on a weekday morning, so I don't expect too many young people to join. Everyone works. :dunno:
