I know some clubs do this.I was curious as to how common it is

I couldn't be part of the poll because there wasn't a choice there for me.

I joined tops in nov a week before thanksgiving and except for the meetings that were cancelled due to weather I have been to every meeting and weighed in. I feel that if I am paying the money then I should at least stay for the meetings. Some days I don't want to go because I have not lost like the past 4 months but I have gone anyway. I am so glad I did because I really would have been much farther behind if I didn't go.

There is a group that meets not far from me that does what you are talking about. They have their meeting and then they go out to dinner every week. I don't see how that can help anyone myself. But that is why I don't go to that one.LOL

Maybe I misunderstood the poll. We only have them twice a year. We have one at Christmas for a party and one for our awards. Our leader said we are allowed 2 food events a year and that is what our chapter uses them for.

Marie you got it right.What I was asking was if your club had a weigh in only with no meeting.Then had social instead of the meeting.Twice a year is what I was always told.Just curious

Okay I was the one that had it wrong.

I think our group only does that once a year. With the food thing anyway. But when our last leader was in we went a lot of times without a program at all. I know that isn't what you were looking for but thought I would add that.LOL

Our chapter meeting is on Friday mornings and the only time we have weigh in only is the day after Thanksgiving (when very few show up) and when leaving on Fridays for SRD. Since I've been in Tops, we have never had a weigh in only before a social event. We have always had the full meeting. Of course, we are meeting mornings, not night. I'm sure that makes a difference.
