First Day on the forum...

  • I used to visit the 3 FatChicks web-site many years ago, then lost track of the web-site. Just did a search and found the web-site again.

I used to belong to TOPS, but am not currently a member however I was recently given some TOPS weight loss books which I will read and then follow the TOPS guidelines.

About me: I'm female, married in my mid 40's and have 69.75 lbs. to lose to goal. Since October 27, 2004 I have lost 4.25 lbs. I know that isn't much but it's hard this time of year to maintain a loss, plus have had the usual winter (cold Weather) illnesses and therefore haven't felt up to preparing well-balanced meals. I live in the USA.

I look forward to meeting others in this forum.
  • Welcome lbsbgone! I love the name by the way.

I've been posting here for a few months and I've found it to be a helpful tool in my weight loss journey. Knowing there are others out there who have the same ups and downs and they lend me their support really helps!

Looking forward to seeing your posts on the board.

We have some major snow here in my part of Ohio. We got about 10 inches and we also had some ice on top of that. I was off work today and DH stayed home too. We were in the house all day. DH did go out and start the cars. We live in an older neighborhood and have to park on the street. They didn't plow our street until about 6:30 p.m. When the plow comes down the street they make about 4 passes. Everyone goes out and works on getting there cars out so they can park on the other side of the street that he first plowed...then the plow comes through again and cleans the other side of the street. He does this twice. Everyone keeps switching there cars around so the plow can make a nice clean area in front of all the houses..then we all park back in front of our houses. It looks crazy when we are doing it, but if you don't then you get plowed in and you will never get out!

I'm confessing to eating a lot of sugar cookies and milk today! It's very dangerous to be in the house with all those cookies!

I know..I could've said no..and I usually do..but not today. Now I feel stuffed, and a little mean.. does sugar make anyone else feel like that?

  • Thanks for the greetings!...
It's always nice to feel welcome to a new board. I must say that I have not been eating properly lately, but amazingly I am still seeing small losses. The first book that I got as a gift titled "Inspired To Lose" I will start reading after finishing the financial book that I am currently 1/4 of the way finished with. I have a friend in another state that said if I like Inspired To Lose, then she will buy it for herself. The other two books that I got as gifts were "The TOPS Way To Weight Loss" and "The Choice Is Yours."

Dh and I both have health related hurdles that we battle with along with the other things that go around like flu's, colds... Currently dh is sick with what we think is food poisoning from a restaurant that we ate at last night. I feel so sorry for him. He feels miserable.

I started to be overweight less than 10 years ago and contribute that to health problems leaving me not feeling up to cooking for good nutrition. Then came the emotional eating and also a few bad habits eating wise found their way into my daily routine.

With your support and the information in the above mentioned books, I hope to change this cycle.

    Thanks for the big welcome!
