Contest Idea
Here are a couple of contest ideas that my group has used
Don’t Bounce the Check Contest The object of the contest is to be the last person with a clear check. The winner will receive all the money that was “deposited”. Everyone who wants to participate will write a *check for $___________and this will be “deposited” in the “Checking Account”. 1. Everyone who participates will have their check pinned to the cork board or posterboard. (whichever the group decides to use) 2. If you gain: 1st gain: You get an “N” put on your check 2nd gain: You get an “S” put on your check 3rd gain: You get an “F” put on your check and you have now bounced your check and you are out of the contest, and your check is removed from the board. 3. If you loose or stay the same: You are still in the contest and your check in unaffected. *We made up fake checks and had everyone decorate their. Second contest Idea: 1. we have two teams you could have how many you need as to how many members. 2. each team has a route to follow one going west and one going east from near the same point. 3. our member copied maps out of an atlas and has each team a copy of their route along hi-way 50 which goes coast to coast.....one is hilighted in green one in pink. 4. she printed out for the teams things of interest along the way in the states they would be going through. 5. each pd lost by each member counts as one mile on their map, and there are team captains and co-captains who will collect the losses from their members and tally and mark them on their maps. First team to reach their destination will be the winners! |
cool ideas.

Susie,
Both contest sounds like they would really be good. How did you score for the KOPS in your contests? We have 11 KOPS and we have problems being fair for both KOPS and TOPS. We used to count at or below goal as a loss in contest for KOPS, but we have several that are always below goal (which is good), but TOPS members can't compete with that. The contest we're having now will have a winner for TOPS and a winner for KOPS. I would enjoy hearing some more ideas for contest. Nita |
Nita,
We only have one KOPS (we are a very small chapter--about 15 members) With the check game it didn't matter because as long as you didn't gain more than 3 times or miss more than one meeting, you were still in the contest until you are the only check that didn't have a NSF. As for the KOPS with the road map contest. I would say maybe if the KOPS member stayed the same or lost, then that team could count it as a mile on their map? |
