I need a contest idea
 

Hello,
My chapter has asked us to think about a contest idea to help motivate us to lose weight over the summer as well as attend the meetings.

We just finished up a 8 week contest where we got points for logging our food, exercising, attending the meeting, losing weight each week, etc. The individual who had the most points one the "money pot".

We kicked an idea around of doing a contest that included teams or partners, but we didn't come up with anything concrete. I've looked on the TOPS website, but didn't find anything that I thought we could use. What sort of contests has your chapter done?

Here's one that works well in our chapter.
Everyone bring in a piece of fruit, your name goes into the basket.
If you loss, you can win, if you gain, nope.
We draw a name until someone wins. It's a short term contest but it's fun!

Yes, they did like it! Thanks! It's a great idea and when you get done with the contest, someone has a nice fruit basket and something good to eat instead of sweets!

Yep, just have to remember to take a piece of fruit, somedays I need it tatoo'ed to my brain. lol Your welcome! We also ring a bell when someone has a loss, after they walk away from with weight recorder, it's fun. Not a contest idea tho. Another contest is TOPS dollars.

I drew a flower on a board for each member.. then for a loss you got to color in a petal. we each put in a $1 for it. and the one with most petals won the pot.. so could put as many petals as you wanted. a loss a petal though. so could last a while... also another one we put 10 dimes in baby food jars and for loss take one out and for gain put one in. could use quarters to. ha but its a good one..... then take a board and each one puts a quarter next to there name.. loss stays on gains take off. one with last name on board wins the money....... then we have taken a apron sewed pockets on it and each one has a pocket. take what ever amt and put in pocket.. then if loss keep it as is. gain put another one in.. then one lefted with the amt was put in is lefted that is the winner. for instance a quarter in each.. one with one quarter wins... these are just some fun ones in our group... good luck.
