had it started once
and the little guy wanted on the computer. We are home he is sick, and actually i'm still trying to recoupe myself. We will be leaving here soon for the doctors. He's complaining of a headache, and backache now. Fever has stopped.
Found out today that we are holding our elections on Monday. The current leader would like to run again. I'm going to too. We will see how it will go. I have lots of plans, but will wait till i can bring them in. No biggy if I don't get it. I'm sure when the time is right. I will bring one suggestion of last year, and do it myself though this time. Even if I don't get leader. I really like the idea of going to area business and getting their support. Also I think that we should get more involved in town activities. But I'm not sure about bringing that one up. The weather here is a little warmer. I'm very much ready for Spring. However the Farmers Almanac says below normal temps till Dec. Not much more going on here good luck to all of those that weigh in today, and hang in there if the scale doesn't say what you want it to. You will all get there i'm sure of it. |
It's snowing (lightly) again so I guess winter is not over (hah). Its so sad when we start looking for Spring in February...we should be enjoying the seasons as they come! I'm one of the worst offenders, though, as I have nothing that makes me enjoy winter. Some people ski and some people skate or snowboard etc. but I just sit indoors, scratching my winter itch (dry skin) and wait for the warm sunshine of May. When I retire I would like to be a snowbird and spend my winters in the warmth and my summers here...the best of both worlds!
We had only 8 attending our TOPS meeting last night, out of 21 members, and one of them said she would not be there next week if we are having elections (which we are). Some attitude, huh. She never volunteers to do anything. I wish we were going to have an election where there was more than one person for each office, especially leader! I fear it will be difficult to fill the positions coming open. Last year I thought I had a good executive, but 2 of them (secretary and weight recorder) quit in October. I also spent most of the year without a co-leader because she had a "family crisis" (she wouldn't say what it was) and didn't come for 3 months during the summer. When she came back, she took over weight recorder when that one quit. We did get a volunteer for secretary after I threatened to disband the chapter if someone didn't come forward to help out. (And they wonder why I don't want to do it another year.) Wendy, sorry to hear things are going badly at work. We spend so much of our lives there, it is sad when we can't relax and enjoy ourselves with our co-workers. As for the munchies, like I said the other day, the only place where I have to be strong is at the store...if I don't buy it, I won't eat it. I missed ice cream, chips and chocolate bars at first, but it goes away, and now I only buy ice cream a couple of times in the summertime, chips at Christmas (although I hardly ate any) and a chocolate bar maybe once a month. For me, chocolate is still the most difficult. Sherri, keep up the good attitude and you will continue to lose. Remember our goal is a healthier self, not necessarily a number on a scale. You are doing that by eating healthy things, and exercising. Mickey, I hear you struggling. I am too. Keeping busy helps, though, so getting started on spring cleaning might be a wise plan!!! Then when spring comes, we can get out and enjoy the sun! Eleni, you sound like your hubby and you really enjoy being together. That is so nice. I hope you will be able to find the motivation to get back on the losing track. You are a great leader for your group and sounds like you get lots of help so you enjoy it. Hi to the newbies. TOPS is a great support group, but it still all depends on you. We find the newest members of our group are the most sucessful, so go to it while the motivation is fresh and strong!!! For those of us who are struggling, don't quit. Remember that success is falling down 7 times and getting up 8. We will get there! |
Tonight is weigh in....could be interesting since I haven't been there since the end of Jan. I'll take whatever it says and will report on the Feb thread later.
HI EVERYONE!!!!!!! Wendy, It's nice that you threw your hat in the ring for leader. We need more people like you to volunteer. If not leader, how about one of the other offices. It doesn't have to be leader or nothing. GO FOR IT! You have done so well with your weight loss and you are one that likes competition. Town activities can be great. Setting up booths that sell healthy snacks at fairs or sporting events, a booth at a health fair, wearing your TOPS t-shirts in a parade [along with a banner] or while out walking in you neighborhood, etc. It just takes a few whose heart is really in it to make it successful. Liz, don't ya just love it when people have that attitude about elections. How childish.....and most importantly selfish! Good for you for threatening them. I put an 'ON STRIKE' sign in front of me one year and just sat there not saying a word. Needless to say they were dumbfounded......but it worked.......some started to volunteer. You sound like a strong leader. We need more like ya! Eleni, I can just picture you and Bill with your fingers tapping away in unison. :D I know your struggling right now, just try to not get too far off the road. You know what happens when you get stuck in the 'muck'. Sherri, keep up the good work. You have every right to be tired at the end of your day. You are one busy lady during the week....but oh, having that job has done so much for your self esteem. YAHOO!!!! To everyone else, have a great evening and think about the bite you are about to take. TOPS {{{{{HUGS}}}}} Summer |
