Freezing Wednesday
Good morning ladies,
Just a quick note. I lost 1 lb and some more inches this week. I am happy with that. I did have some junk this week that I didn't have last week. But I am not worried. I am eating less junk already this week. I will have another loss next week. As long as the scale keeps dropping I am happy. Work is soooooo busy. I am learning a lot. I hardly have time to eat my lunch. I didn't even get to eat my bannana for the rest of my breakfast yesterday. But I would rather keep busy. It occupies my mind and makes the day fly by. I love what I am doing and learning more each day. Have a great day all and make healthy choices in all you do. Think positive and we will win this battle. Sherri |
Good for you Sherri. :D
I also lost this week 1 1/2 lbs. :D I thought I would lose more but I'll take it. I did have a little bit of junk this week but not too much. One thing I am wondering though. I work out about 2 hours before I get weighed and I seem to be a bit heavier than my scale says in the morning. Before I started working out, I would weigh myself in the morning, eat lightly during the whole day ( meals and snacks) and would weigh the same at night. This week I was 193.5 in the morning and after working out, at my meeting I was 195.25. I tried not to drink too much water when I was working out. Any thoughts:?: Have good week everyone. |

Hi Everyone,
Sherri...Congratulations on your loss this week. I'm glad you are enjoying your new job. It helps to like what you are doing and makes the time go by faster. Linlin.....I always weigh more at night, ususally about 2 pounds more than I do in the morning. And my scales at home weigh me differently than the one at TOPS and the doctors is different from TOPS and mine. Congratulations on your good loss this week. Nita |
Thanks Nita,
I know weight can change during the day. I found that if I am careful what I eat during the days I get weighed that I pretty much can stay the same from morning to night. But not with the working out. It seems to change my weight. And I don't want to not work out on the days I get weighed or it will be just another excuse not to do it. |
Linlin....Could it have something to do with the muscles? I've been told that muscle weighs more than fat and when you first start to work out, you gain weight because you are building muscles. But you said you weighed the same after workout as you did in the morning. Then weighed more in the evening at TOPS. I really don't know why the difference. Perhaps someone will be able to give us an answer.

Happy Wednesday everyone! Half the work week is almost over already. The weekend is within sight already:) Well, Made it to weigh - in last night and was delighted to find out I lost 3 1/2 lbs this week. That brings me down to 230 1/2, 1 lb away from the 220's. Can't wait! It has been almost 11 years since I weighed that. Feels good to see the scales go down.:cloud9: Anyway, have a good day all, and congratulations on all of you and your loses.:bravo: :cp:

The deep freeze has really hit...negative 25 celsius (zero is freezing) although it is supposed to improve already by tomorrow. Wonder if we burn more calories in the cold?
Up 1/2 pound last night at weighin. Dr. Phil says you can spit a half pound! It could also be the heavy sweater I was wearing because of the cold. Either that, or the non-exercising is catching up with me. (most likely) I'm going to attempt at least 20-30 minutes on the treadmill tonight. as my knee is feeling better. Linlin - the TOPS scale is probably different that yours at home. For one thing, it probably weighs by 1/4 pounds...does yours? The way to check the difference is this: just before you leave home for your TOPS weigh in, weigh yourself on your scale. Then, before doing anything else at TOPS, weigh in. Keep track of the difference for several weigh ins and you should see a pattern. I think we always weigh less first thing in the morning... it makes sense in that we have gone 8-10 hours without eating or drinking, and our metabolism keeps running during the night just keeping us alive... If we are doing things right, we lose weight while we sleep! Sherri - Although you have always been a positive cheerleader for everyone in this group, and have been going through some tough spots in your own life, you sound so happy since you have started your new job. The self esteem we get from knowing that we are a valued employee to someone (and getting paid for it too!!!) is immense, and I have seen it in you. You are so confident and (rightly) proud of how quickly you have learned this job. Congratulations. |
Not so bad Wednesday
Hi everyone,
Sherri- I have to agree with wild rose. You hang in there. You will get through this. You are a great chearleader. Don't let what someone else bother you, i know it's easier said than done. But just events. Rate it. Is it going to kill ya, no, probably very unpleasent, but you are still there, and you have you family. 6 months down the road someone else will be topic of converstation. Time in a way does heal all wounds. Also look at it this way, you are doing awesome in the weight, you have a new job you love, and you have friends here that care about you very much.:D Wild rose, I know how you feel about the cold. It's very cold here, and doesn't look to change except for some snow possibly. Hang on with the gain, you can work it off. Working that treadmill will help. i'm finding that exercise with my almost middle age is a must. Linlin-I'm finding if I consistant I will show a loss. I can work out at curves, about 2 hours or so before weigh in and still have a loss. I ware the same clothes, or close to it each week. The lightest I have. I've always heard though, not to do it, exercise before weigh in. Your muscles swell when you exercise. Thats why curves says to measure before workout. But this is something to look at too. You by exercising should be losing some water weight. I know that in the morning I can exercise 2 pounds off of me. The key be consistant. Sooner or later your efforts will show up at the scale. I agree with weighing yourself just before you go out the door, i do it each week too. My scale differs about .25- 1. either way. some weeks heavy, some weeks light. But I know if i'm about 1.5 pounds down on my scale i will have a loss. Also work on getting you mind off the scale. There are other ways to improve yourself that the scale can't show. I know you need it for Tops, but measure other success that you may have for the week. Congrats on All the losers so far this week. Keep it up. me things are going well. I turtled again this week, but i've picked up my exercising, and keeping busy, so it should all show up on monday, if i don't overeat this weekend, and stay busy. Exercising in the morning is really helping me, and I've been trying something different at work. Not sure how the hands will pan out, but they are willing to work with me on the whole thing. This will keep me moving all day long, walking. Either everyday for the week, or everyother day for the week. Depending on whom I'm working with. They are also going to make sure that on the other side of the job, that I don't get behind on it. I've been doing some praying about it, and so far no doors have been closed. So time will tell. They also agreed to all the requests that I have made to do the job. the one thing yet is we will bring it up with the other workers tomorrow and see what they think, and feel. I don't think anyone will have a problem with it. Neither job is my choice of a job, however, i've been there a long time, and no one else will hire me with my hands. So I figure make the best out of the situation that i'm in for who knows how long. Not much more going on |
Only have a minute, but wanted all of you to know I am thinking about you!! And sending positive (((((vibes))))) your way.
And it is cold here, but after seeing some of the temp's where you guys live...I won't complain about our 16 degrees!!! (At least not to you!) Congrat's to you who have weighed in with a loss this week, those with a gain, don't give up! My weigh in is tomorrow night...and I will probably have a gain. But I am back op... Love and Hugs to all...Wanda |
