should I go ahead and start my diet plan?

I went to my first tops meeting last thursday. I didnt weigh in. They said I will weigh in this thursday when I sign up.
So should I go ahead and start my diet plan? I am really motivated and know that I will lose. It's a shame I didnt weigh in last week cause now I wont have a loss for this week's meeting.
