Good morning gals! I need to go to the commissary today, but I haven't even made a list so don't know if I will get there today or tomorrow. You know how I love that.
Jean: Why don't they just assign the MEN to the study halls? I mean, they may not make a BIG difference, but I bet they would somewhat. Boy, you have some list of "F" kids don't you? I bet your school looks real good on the state's testing rosters. Hope you have fun at the gift shop and don't get a lagger at the last couple of minutes like you usually do. Boy, I am really worried about Susan. She hasn't answered my email and it has been nearly 3 weeks she hasn't been anywhere on this site. I sure do hope something bad hasn't happened. That is the bad thing about making friends online. If something happens to them you have no way of knowing what. I guess if I really really get worried I can call her. I know where she lives, I know her husband's first name and their last name, which is very unusual. Jack is upstairs dinking around on his laptop, but should be downstairs pretty soon for breakfast. In the meantime, I think I will start on a shopping list so I can go sometime today. They close at 5 so you have to plan. Boy, if I ever finish this sweater and it looks ok, I am going to be surprised. The directions are stupid and in my opinion terribly unclear. I laid in bed and stressed over it last night like I was getting paid to make it or something. I guess if it doesn't look good, he just won't get it. I only have one sleeve to make and then I can finish it up, but there are things I have already done that I had to guess at because the directions were so jumbled. On top of that, the yarn for this project has a thin strand of something that looks like rayon wrapped around the wool and that keeps getting stuck on the needle or getting pulled or something and I have to keep fixing little places UGH! Well, I should hit the morning chores and start on that list! Faye |
Good Afternoon, Flowers! I rushed home from working in the gift shop because Bob wanted me to pick him up after he gets mil's car moved and ready for winter storage. Well, as it turns out he spent the morning hanging out with his farmer friend and they had gone out for lunch! :dizzy: I could have been to the grocery store, WM, and back home again! The gift shop was super slow today even though the hospital was pretty full with lots of people coming and going. I guess no one was in the mood to shop. I did get a pile of magazines gone through so my time wasn't totally wasted.
"Gma" -- Our district is on "THE" list and I don't antcipate getting off until the "no child left behind" is history. When they don't want to learn and put forth no effort, it's pretty hard to pound information into them. We do have a man special ed. teacher and he is as frustrated as the rest of us. They don't/won't work for him either. I'm sure your sweater project will be fine. If it's too big, T will grow into it. :D I, too, am concerned about Susan. I "lost" an 83 year old cyber friend on another forum twice and I ended up writing notes to her. The first time her computer crashed and she couldn't get back into the private forum and the second time her son made her move to a smaller one level house and she couldn't find us. She doesn't post alot, but has a quick wit when she does. Bob just got home and wants to know how soon I can pick him up so guess that is my cue to get going. :( Have a great day! Good morning gals! Boy the days just seem to keep rolling by. It will be Thanksgiving soon. What is everyone planning on doing for the holiday this year? We are going to our dd's for late breakfast, then to Cracker Barrel for lunch, then back to the house for dessert, play games, watch movies etc. I am sure we will let the pianist impress us with his talent!
The vent people started out nice when we called about them coming back out here and now the owner is saying it is OUR problem, they won't come back out and redo the job and she will put a collection agency on us if we don't pay her. I reported them to the BBB and put an unfavorable report on the internet Yellow Pages, and sent her a steaming letter, but there isn't much more we can do. This idiot is saying we have something wrong with our vent because her tech guy said so. The guy is Nigerian, could barely speak English and to tell you the truth, wouldn't know a problem from a hole in the ground. All he did was put a vacuum up the vent and sucked it out and used a wire thing to stick up there. He has NO idea whether the thing was completely cleaned out and working because he never reconnected the dryer and turned it on and went outside to check! We, of course, are at fault because we didn't realize this until he was gone and we tried using the dryer and it overheated again. Anyway, I am not sure what I am going to do. I emailed my dil and told her the info and told her that she and Jay could decide what they wanted to do, pay it or not, I didn't care, but just to let us know. They didn't even have an invoice for us to sign so there is no proof we approved the work or anything. We also have the home warranty tech on our side who said the thing is definitely still blocked. GRRRRR! Why can't people just do a good job anymore? I mean, this cost $125 not $10 or I would have just let it go! I think I am going to get a mock turtleneck for Thomas for Christmas to go underneath his sweater and have it monogrammed on the collar for him. I found out yesterday that my dd's girlfriend has made him a sweater for Christmas with a "T" on it so mine will probably look crummy beside hers as she is an expert knitter. Oh well, I am going to give it to him anyway. We are having trouble figuring out what to get him because he has so much. They bought him a new video game system but have already bought him 5 games to go with it so that is out, she said they are getting him a violin for Christmas because he is starting lessons in January, but there isn't anything to buy to go with that. We will figure out something to get him I am sure. I need to go and get chores done this morning ladies. Have a good day and I will talk with you again soon! Faye :turkey: ONLY 18 DAYS UNTIL THANKSGIVING! |
