Morning Ladies!
Morning Ladies. :tired:
One tired Lady here. lol. But the overtime will be nice to see on our checks! :D When I woke up yesterday (Friday) my hips were killing me for some reason, don't know why...........then 1/2 way in the middle of the night @ work they stopped hurting. Weird. Our new car, for those interested......................... Is a 2006 Nissan Altima, Blue, with black interior and is very nice (well at least I think so!) and a dream to drive! :) Okay so there ya go. If we ever get a picture of it I will show ya'all. (if you want to see) Now on to WL talk. We cancelled our Y membership, for now. Just until we get our finances all sorted, we are fine, but we don't want to over do it right now. But we can rejoin @ anytime, no problems. So maybe after the 1st of the year? I was also thinking about maybe looking into purchasing a home gym or a treadmill? (after the 1st of the yr or so) Not sure. Need something that folds away....... Well I still have my WATP DVD to do and now that we know we can walk 1.7 miles, we can get out and walk a bit. (not 1.7 miles mind you but a little bit at a time! hee hee!) I also haven't been a very "good" girl, but I have been taking Ms. Jane's advice and just eating smaller portions of my favorite foods instead of cutting them out entirely. It seems to be working better, I eat smaller, more frequent meals and it works out better for me, I feel better. Okay, okay, you all don't have to say it all at once "You told me so" lol. Just kidding. So I'm doing what I can. We did go and buy some fruits and veggies to snack on instead of junk food. I get as much water in as I can and I find that I don't hardly even want pop anymore! :woohoo: OH this is not WL related but have you all seen either of these movies yet? Over the Hedge and An American Haunting? If not I highly recommend them both! :D The American Haunting isn't for young kids but the Over the Hedge is definately for the entire family and very very cute! :D Well I hope I didn't bore you all to tears.............lol. |
Hi. I would like to join you guys. I posted a bio in the bio thread. You guys seem like a great group. I have been on 3FC for a while and I regularly post on the Teacher thread and on the Weight Watcher threads.
I have been serious about losing weight since January with some setbacks over the summer while building a house and doing a lot of stress eating. That's all in the past now thought and I am down a total of 38 pounds thus far. I joined Weight Watchers about 7 weeks ago and have lost 17 pounds of my total loss since joining them so it is working for me for sure. I plan to stick with Weight Watchers until I reach my goal. I have struggled with weight since I was a child...my whole family is overweigt and/or obese for the most part, but I refuse to give into genetics and/or poor lifestyle choices. I can beat this! I have to for my health. I am 31 and already on Blood Medicine...my BP got high over the summer while building the house. I want to get off of that medicine. Also, my dad had a Heart Attack in his late 40's and I do not want that to happen to me and he is diabetic, too. Also, I want to have another baby and I do not want to have all the problems I had with my son. I had high BP and borderline toxemia, and an emergency c-section so it was very traumatic. Anyway, that's about me. I hope to get to know all of you soon. |
Hi ladies,
First off, welcome to Melody! :welcome: It's always nice to have a new addition to the family. And a big YAY to you for the 38 pounds already lost. You're on the right road, and we can all encourage each other. Glad you're here. :) Sue - I plan on having a lazy weekend, unless I get need to help Katie more during her move. What she has left is to take clothes and such, so that's not really hard work. Just tedious. To help quiet your sweet tooth, how about some dried cranberries. I had never eaten them in my life until yesterday, and sprinkled a few on my salad. Yum! Be careful though, because they are high in calories, like nuts, and a little goes a long way. But they're good for squelching a sweet tooth. Cristi - I used to not like sleeping somewhere else, either, but now I can sleep in the guest room without a second thought when Neal is sawing logs, lol. He likes that better, too, so I don't poke him. Like you, I just don't like saying "diet"! But since that's the name of the book, it's hard to not do that, lol. I don't see it as something I'm going On then Off later. It is very silimilar to the Sonoma Diet. Dr. Oz (Katie calls him the Wizard) isn't very specific about portions, so I'm counting my calories, too. YES, it's much too early for Christmas decorations. I like to at least get Thanksgiving over first, but I think you and I are becoming the minority about that. Last year, I saw lots and lots of Christmas decorations on homes before Thanksgiving. I know I should just go with the flow, but to tell you the truth, I'd get sick of seeing it all for that long in my living room. Marti - have fun with your cutey patootey! Yowza, I have a gazelle going to waste in my shed. Too bad I can't just past it to..... Sassy - you'd be more than welcome to my gazelle. But it would cost you more to come and get it than if you just bought one outright. Hey, the new car sounds snazzy! Nissan products are made so well! Glad you're handling portion control well, sweetie. I haven't seen "Over the hedge" yet, but will probably just buy it for the DGDs when it's for sale. Hello to everyone else reading this. I'm eating so healthily it's scary. :D I made one serving of whole wheat pasta and added a dab of olive oil, some zuchinni, yellow squash, tomatoes, onion, feta cheese, basil and diced turkey for my lunch. I also have been using olive oil and vinegar for my salads. I just use a little of that, though. And I've stocked up on lots and lots of fresh veggies, and have cut them up and bagged them so they're all ready in a pinch. I do have a little bit of a headache from sugar withdrawal, though. I read that will pass in a few days. Have a good weekend, ladies. |
Jane, Thanks for the welcome. Your lunch today sounds yummy. I may have to try that sometime.

:welcome2: MELODY...This group of ladies are wonderful and supportive!
SASSY...First, thank you so much for the card, you are so kind! The Nissan Altima is my new favorite car! I see a lot of them around and I think they are so nice.;) I haven't been around lately because I feel like such a downer again. Well today will be yet another sad day. My sister is coming over later this afternoon when she gets done with all of her appointments, to go through 20 boxes of my mom's things, so we can divide them up between us. It's so hard right now, because all of the boxes are stacked in my living room, and to know all of my mom's memories and belongings are there is so sad. This has been another hard week with her memorial service and moving all of her stuff out of her apartment, and it has brought me very down again. The only thing I keep trying to do is take it one day at a time, and I rely on my faith and family so much. I just miss my mom so much, and I know I cannot wish her back on this earth, with all the pain she was in every single day, but I just wish one more time to talk with her, and hug and kiss her. Thank you ladies for letting me keep talking about this, because I know I must be a downer quite a bit lately, but I don't know what else to do right now. I hope all of you have a nice day! :grouphug: |
Hello ladies....
Just can't stay away can I? LOL HI MELODY and a big :welcome: to you! Looking forward to getting to know you. And WTG on the weight lost! :carrot: :woohoo: MICHELLE...you should never feel like a downer, no one should. We are here for each other, good or bad, happy or sad. While you can't hug or kiss your mom you can have a talk with her. Just go somewhere quiet or even to the gravesite and spent some time there talking with her...she will hear you. Then you can blow some kisses to her. SASSY...I would love to see a picture of you new car when you take one. And WTG on cutting back on the food. :carrot: that's why I always liked WW...because you can eat what you want in moderation and as long as you count those points. I'm even thinking about joining again. Maybe after my year with It Figures is up. While I have enjoyed working out there, I won't rejoin, I don't think. Not sure yet and I have until April to decide so, who knows. JANE...I forgot to mention that on the radio last night Delia (she's on the station I listen to from 7-midnight) she started playing Christmas music! :yikes: I just don't like that people just about skip over Thanksgiving. Anyway, your lunch sounds good. And I am glad the Oz program is working for you. I've not seen him on Oprah and have yet to check out the book to see what it is all about. MARTI...hope you enjoy your Jhanai weekend. And WTG on keeping up with your walking. Hi to everyone else  I did go to It Figures this morning and as always it felt good. Going to get in a mile walk later. Along with taking this polish off. I am on a red kick for some reason. I only like it on short fingernails though so I need to cut mine. There was a time I loved the long fingernails but no more. I need some stuff to make them stop growing, lol. Had to make a trip to Hallmark too, lol. Okay I didn't have to but they sent me a thing in the mail for a free gift bag. And I needed more cards so...I was pleasantly surprised at what was in there. It was supposed to be worth $50 (you had to spend $35 though which wasn't a problem for me, lol) but I thought it would be little junky stuff but it wasn't. There was a snowman mug that is really cute and big-perfect hot chocolate mug, three ornaments. One was small and the other was an angel (perfect since I collect them) and one of their collectables, and a couple of little things. I bought individual Christmas cards for my dad, mom, the kids, Vince, an Uncle and my dear friend I've known since the girls were 2. Anyway, yakkity, yak...I'm in a chatty mood. Good thing Vince is on his way home, I can talk his ears off today, lol! Take care ladies and I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! |
Eep! We've hit 50 again. Hop on over to Weight Loss and Chit Chat #219, ok? See you there. :)
