Crantini for everyone! For Madcat's birthday and for everyone else's unbirthdays
*Made with Polar ice vodka cranberry juice and a titch of triplesec

forget all your troubles and just be happy!

Happy is away on her remote acreage... Shad is having visions of handyman homicide... Mel is packing and going to visit Shad in her warmth and help bury the bodies and patting herself on the back for the scale numbers downward motion... Holly is rubbing her hands together gleefully and breathing deep sighs of relief from other people's children... Madcat is smiling, happy and blissfully unaware of everyone, everything but her lovely hubby's eyes... Nae is primping and aching for her new man to hurry up and call... Suzi is doing sensible ab crunches while wondering just what it means to be the same as Oprah's goal weight?!... Ceejay and Carla are reading and wondering where the blazes Meadow's head is at

Happy Weekend everyone

...Meadowmmmm thank you, very nice thank you very much I might have to wait a few hours to have a real one as it's only 1.30pm, although it is 5pm somewhere! Meadow I love your graphics you are so clever. I wish I wish I could do them too. Thank you for sharing.

HappyI can so relate to your neighbourhood problems. Hopefully the racking up men might come and take the rubbish away! ? oh well it was a thought...wishful thinking maybe. Good for you on the Pilate crunches....hold in that core. I am up for Hubbies buying dinner anytime. Remind me in my next life to come back as an animal that lives in your place!

Shad, you are quite something, well done you You will be all up and running for summer! There is nothing like visitors coming too to get us motivated.
I had my last Gym session for the week this morning. I think I did close to 500 cals and thought of you! I couldn't manage 600. I will try for that next time. The challenge at the Gym sounds interesting. Are you doing that too? I know a friend who did that for 8 weeks and he lost 12 kgs! Amazing. There was a lot of nutrition involved and it wasn't a long term thing I don't think. I know I would prefer that. My sister in Law is a weight loss management specialist. i am going to rack her brains when she comes over in Dec. It might be a diet friendly Christmas

Mel
Yes I have floated back doen. I had a grump this morning with DH over nothing and I am sure it was because we were having to come back down to reality. It would be nice to float around for a while. Still it was fun while it lasted. I hope you get better soon. It's no good being sick after the shot. I know I am a wuss but that is one reason I won't get the flu shot. I seem to hear stories of people getting the flu after it and really wonder if it is worth it. Still I know it is need for some like yourself.

HollyWonderful news :congratulations: on the end of this era. I hope you have some lovely quality time with your family. You deserve it. It hasn't come at a better time for you too with the holidays coming up.

Madcat
I hope u are enjoying your birthday. And you are right Milk it for all it is worth. It's the only time you can! enjoy the room, the bubbles and the memories.
I hope you all have a lovely day. I am off to seize this one. DS is running around making mischief and saying he is bored. I really hate that, it basically means he wants to waste his time playing games on the computer
I think i might get this DH to buy me dinner!
Toodles

Meadow- you are a true delight!!!! Sorry about the yahoo and the crashing.HUGS!!!

HUGS to all!

I slept til a decadent 7:30am!!!!!!!

DH and I are both showered and the kids are having some toast. We go to get my car in 20 min. It is really there this time.

Today is all about Avon and then cleaning the upstairs bathroom.

I want to walk too. It is 1 mile up to the next side road. Round trip 2 miles. Doing this every day is my goal. It is the same busy road out front but at certian times it is not as busy. Like weekends and most mid mornings. 2 seniors up the road walk it every day.

The mice and donut are just too adorable Meadow. I love that kind of artwork. Your post cracked me up and I had the urge to cut and paste it into mine and leave!
I'll take a crantini and thank you very much!!!!Looks very thirst quenching!!

Happy~ your post cracked me up in that it's like you are reading my mind. I rarely say any of that out loud as I live in fear that the office will call the men in white coats and drag me away! those naughty neighbors are using the black bags out of ignorance, cheapness(they still have too many left) or arrogance! As a control freak, this would highly piss me off!! lol So I send you
PS~ I told Shad to put the bodies on ice till I can get there. No sense in leaving now....SHE'S NOT DONE YET!!!!!

Shad~ I hope good lighting is easy to find. At least you will know it will be a job well done in the end. will it all be finished before you leave again and what did you find about Sunday traveling with you this trip?
Temps are reaching the 30's & 40's.....send the heat please!

Holly~ good plans for the time well spent with your OWN kids!! I am sure everyone will benefit.

Suzi~ No fighting now gotta start buttering him up for next years events!!!

Feeling less achy and Jen is too. Not as bad as other years reactions. A very bright and lovely crisp day has begun(insert frezing my balls off here)....(oh....I don't have any....then change that to buns)
I did a flylady job thru magazines and crochet books. Gave a LOT away and put the magazines into the laundry room. the wind was so incredible last night it sounded like a freight train on and off. Set off the alarms on the door, cops here, and I had to turn it off for the night!
Hope no one broke in. I'm going back down now to reset it.
No plans and nothing else to report.....
Happy Saturday and good morning sunshines

Hi everyone.
I went to Paragould this week end after all because the district water meeting was there. I won the door prize which was an electric fillet knife.
My nephew will be getting this for his Christmas present. I was one of 4 women there.

I decided to spend some time with my aunt and uncle and glad I did. I got to baby sit their 3 year old grand daughter while my aunt went to a luncheon to visit with her aunt's and uncle's.

My aunt and I went shopping today while her dil cleaned her house. I bought 2 new pair of jeans and a hoodie (a sweat shirt with a hood) I needed the jeans to wear to work. My old ones are getting thread bare.

I'll probably have an unhappy co-worker in the morning when I get to work but she will get over it. I'm not taking anything else from her.

Happy is doing crunches. Wow, 750 is impressive! Get some rest this week end.

Madcat--Happy belated birthday and enjoy that jacuzzi.

Shad--Be careful in the attic and good job on the exercising.

Mel-Stay warm.

Holly--Love the new wheels and know you are anxious in starting a new job.

Suzi, Meadow, and Rose hello

Ceejay is getting her jeans ready for work. Nice you got to spend time with the family. Paragould

I woke at 4am and went back to sleep at 6 for 1 1/2 hrs. Now have headache the size of Giant's Stadium. there will be NO ball games played there till I can get rid of it!!
Sunny and cold. Better find something to keep me occupied!
Happy Sunday

Hi Girls,

We went out trapsing early yesterday so I didn't get a chance to post. Alot of the stores (outside of the chains) only have weekend hours from 9am to 11:30 on Saturday. Since they are typically situated across several towns and far apart, it really makes it difficult to shop and look for things. We went to one tile place called the Tile House. It was closed. They should have called it Tile Shed because it was a very small storefront with not much in the way of samples. Just for the heck of it I picked out another place and printed directions before we left home. We decided to haul over there - one hour to get 15 miles across town in heavy traffic. I was happy to see that this place was open until noon and they had a very large showroom with lots of samples. Of course DH liked one and I liked another but eventually we came together on something we both liked. Then we asked one of the salespeople a question and found out that the tile we both really really liked was just wall tile and not suitable for countertops. She was very helpful in suggesting another style but it just didn't go as well with the accent pieces we picked out. Then there is the business of wall tile. We don't want anything too dark but we can't have anything too light either because the cabinets are white and something too light will get washed out. Also the kitchen opens into the dining room which is a periwinkle blue so we are somewhat limited with colors. The floor is an ugly bland beige tile which DH said we could cover over if we needed to. We found a grouping that looked ok to us and brought samples home. DH was laying it out on the computer. The counter tiles are large - 18 inches by 18 inches which she suggested we lay on a diagonal <> which would cover the 25 inch span across the counter top. DH said he wasn't sure if he liked that and after thinking about it, he's not sure he likes the tile she suggested for the counters. I think I want the shiny glazed finish, he's thinking smaller tiles would be better than the super big ones. I would prefer less grout than more (stuff is so hard to clean) so I think the bigger tiles would work better. It's never easy to decide. Good thing we aren't in a hurry. We can go back and look more after we get back from Chicago. I told DH I think we should pick out the accent tiles and work from there out instead of picking counter tiles and then selecting wall and accent pieces. So that was all of yesterday. Another 2 hour phone call with my sister and half the weekend is gone.

Which piles alot on today which is cold and gray and dreary looking.

Morning Mel, hope the headache goes away and that you find something to keep you out of trouble

An electric fillet knife? Well CeeJay I guess that would come in handy if you caught really big fish. I'm thinking my fillet knife is the sharpest knife I have but it probably would be very difficult to use it on a 30 pound fish. I like hoodies too - they look better than plain old sweatshirts I think. Have you given any more thought to changing careers or was that just a frustrating moment for you?

Thank you for the crantini Meadow but make Holly's a virgin drink since there's no drinking and driving here.

Suzi, so you have a SIL who is a weight loss specialist? Wow that's cool. You should be able to swap some great tips over your visit. Are you going to take her as a guest to your fabulous gym?

Shad, how did the dentist go? Haven't seen you check in - hope you're not stuck in the attic.

Well I started this post 2 hours ago. Got caught up with finding a design program for DH so he could get a better idea on the kitchen design. Now it's almost lunch time and I'm still sitting here in my pajamas with a cold cup of coffee. There's so much to do this week before we go, I MUST stay focused on the things that really need doing. Starting with picking up a birthday gift for my sister. So I'd better get busy. Sunday's fly by soooooo very quickly. Enjoy yours ladies.

Weighed in this morning at 184.6. ugh. and I've just finished off a half can of Pringles. Maybe I can salvage the day and still stay under my calorie limit.

I'm not in the mood to work today so I'm going to play on the computer for a little while. The co-worker did not say to much which I'm glad.

My toning for the day has been completed so all I have to do tonight is ride for 7 miles

Mel--Take some tylenol and lay back down. Hope your headache feels better soon.

Holly--Have fun in the new car.

Happy--Career changes ares on hold. Things are not quite as problematic as they were once were. I've put my food down on a lot of things that this co-worker was doing. It's help matters a bunch. The boss didn't know.

Morning all,

I was sure I had posted yesterday, but I guess I didn't as it is not there. Silly me.

No I am not up starving in the attic. I did manage to get up and down and around in there in one piece. I will have to get back up there again to put the insulation back in place. I have to move it around to find out what the problem was. I am about to find out today whether I have fixed the problem or not. Back to the plastering again. Painting is coming along okay. Top coat will go on by about Wednesday or so. Meantime I have been working in the bathroom and garden as well. Always something to do around here and I am so slow in doing it as well.

Preparations for the party are going along okay. I picked up a large piece of pork while shopping last week. That will go on the Weber for roasting. Also a Chicken and a Fish in there, but I haven't got them yet. Yesterday I went around to DB2's place and told him that we are to have a family reunion while his sister is here. He's all for the idea. Thinks it is great. Just a pity, he says that all of the family can't attend. Well, well dear bro, most of them will be here. Only a couple missing. Next time we think about a reunion, we will think about having it on neutral territory - maybe that will flush out a couple of recalcitrants or closet skeletons or something. Today, I will make a list of the things to do/ get for the party, make enquiries at some of the theme parks, sanctuaries, zoos and local attractions for the visitors and suss out any discounts for families etc. I think the vote for the time being is Steve Irwins place out at Australia Zoo.

Meadow - loved the crantini. Very nice - but then I can drink cranberry sauce! I love the stuff.

Suz - no I am not doing the challenge because I won't be here for much of it. I will have to freeze my gym membership and find a new gym up there I guess.

Holly - get those walking shoes out. You now have the opportunity to do some good quality walking. Don't drive round the block in the car It will not do your legs any good.

Mel - Our temps will soon be reaching the 30's and 40's as well, but centigrade is somewhat different from fahrenheit. I'm going out this week to sort out the lighting - no it will probably not be done before I go. DS2 will sort it out after I have gone. I've just got to make the big decisions and pay for it. Miss Puss is at this time going around to the DS2 for a period of time anyway. We will see how it pans out. May have to alternate between DS2 and the Cattery although DB2 now says he will come around and stay here for the time I am away - but I don't want him to give up his flat because he loves it out there and will not find anything as cheap again.
All else fails, I will secrete the cat into a flat in Tville.

Ceejay - congratulations on winning something. Glad to hear the job has settled down at least for the time being.

Happy - tiles and home decorating are the worst things to try and sort out. It takes forever and almost never looks exactly like you had envisioned it to be. Just take lots of paint swatches, fabric swatches, as many tile samples as you can get, benchtop samples etc. and put them all together in a collage on a board, then hang the collage in several different places around the room for a couple of days in each location. Light and colour are often affected by other colours around them. Your blue will give everything a blue light and you may need more red or yellow undertones to warm up the spaces. Look at your ideas in all lights and do not hurry the decision. It is just not worth it - particularly since tiles and benchtops are so expensive.

I've gymmed and showered and had breakfast. Time on the computer is done until later this afternoon. So dishes, washing, painting, gardening and plastering is now on the menu. See you all later.

Hi girls

It's my daughters birthday today so Happy birthday DD!!!I can't believe you are 11!
We have done the birthday thing this morning, pressies to open and pancakes made for a birthday breakie, tonight it's a roast at her request.
Last night we sort of celebrated as tonight the boys have music in the middle of festivities.
I had taken DD to a dance practise all day and so she was a little tired. She asked if we could have fish and chips on the floor on a blanket in the living room, so we did just that and watched Australian Idol. Very cool!
I love the simple things like that.
She has a birthday planned with friends on Saturday , 15, 11 year olds. Should be fun. One of her pressies was "singstar" kareoke , so they will be all popping and bopping I have the week to plan it and a cake to be made and thought about.
The weekend was good but lots of talking. Our dear new friends are having difficulties in their relationship. The "DH" came over to talk to my DH and had a heart to heart for about 2 hours. I made myself scarce. They were on the verge of breaking up and we were very sad, this was the first we had heard about this. Thankfully after debriefing and lots of talking they have decided to make a go of things. We were still exhausted and have been mulling over things backwards and forwards. It makes us thankful for what we have but also realise how hard things are and how we can't change situations, just wait and see. We have only just met these friends and so don't know them too well. People show you what they want to.

I have Gymmed this morning but have heaps to do today so really must get cracking the whip. It's a beautiful day today, just right for looking around the open air mall.

Shad...I am sure your DB will LOVE his surprise. it's so nice for youto do this for him. mmmmm i love food straight from the weber, so yummy! The Australian Zoo sounds like a must see. I am only sad I didn't get to see it before he passed away.
Mel..glad to hear you are feeling better. has the headache gone, ekkk. might be part of the symptoms. get well! did you find something to do...hopefully not involving balls!

Holly...enjoy those new wheels ...the car looks lovely. What fun!

Ceejay, glad you enjoyed your little trip away. So nice that you could spend some time with the little one. I am struggling too at the moment with the numbers on the scales...very frustrating with all the hard effort I am making, might be food choices, might need to re think.

Happy...I could so relate to your decision making. It a tricky one. I like the idea of tiles on the bench top. I haven't seen much of that as the Ceasar stone idea seems to be really the "thing" here. I am with you on the grouting. The less the better and the bigger tiles will look sharp. hope you can come to an understanding with DH. It's good that he likes to be so involved.
Ok I'm down to the lovely meadows cratini staring at me. I better not look at it too long or I will get nothing done!

Love to all
Suz

Happy Birthday Suzi's DD Hope mum and dad get you some really cool stuff!

Suzi, can Mel and I have a turn at the Karaoke machine? Please, please, PLEASE!!!!!

I had the hardest time getting on here. There's a new ad for Comcast Digital Phone service and it's messing up the page loads. I had to try 6 times and I was almost about to give up It seems when that certain ads love me to no end. I still grit my teeth with the stupid Lamisil toenail ad that seems to be everywhere!!!

I'm in the middle of getting busy here. Making a list and getting things done. Just thought that I'd pop in and say good night. Didn't plan on it taking me 15 minutes just to get to the right page.

Later chicks...

Damn this site is acting funny. I clicked reply and got the page, then it jumped to the index page or whatever it's called.
Happy~ no wonder you had problems getting here
You two certainly had a full weekend with the tile picking. good luck fionding what you want. You and me and some crantini's and a kareoke(sp) machine could be a dangerous thing.... Just the thought of it cracks me up!

Shad~ He is going to be soooo surprised!!!
I hope it all stays a secret till the very moment!
Will Sunday stay quiet whilst you smuggle her inside? Whatever you do....don't put any duct tape on her mouth!!!!

Ceejay~ Did you wear the new hoodie and jeans to work?
Good idea for the knife as a Xmas present. You just gave me an idea. I have new things sitting here and can give them good homes.

Neadow~ POLAROIDS!!! Yes it is good to laugh first thing in the morning!! Especially after the phone call I just had previously.

Suzi~ Happy Birthday Suzi's DD
Hope it's a good one and all her wishes come true!

Holly~ are you still out driving around in the new vehicle????????

Wonder how the trip is going with Mr & Mrs Madcat
I was beginn ing my post when John called and told me that we are missing an elderly couple for 3 days now. The last we saw them was Friday and they were leaving in their van. Now the kids say he's going senile and they fear they are both lost. WELLLLLL....if you knew this then why was he still driving!!!!! God knows where they are.
don't you just love Monday mornings?
hold on a sec.............
the cops had begun a search last night. John just gave me an update. Hope this ends well.
I have a complaint: a lot of human remains were found at the construction site at Ground Zero(9/11) so now the site is closed down. This morning they plastered pictures of all the bones they found piled up on tables in a lab of sorts....who thought this was a good idea, who let these money hungry reporters in there and how can they do this to the parents and wives and kids of the deceased?
Jesus....where is our sense of respect for the dead.
OK rant is over. I am thinking I should get dressed in case the police come here for statements. sigh
Happy Monday. Let's make this a great week somehow for all of us .......

Wow Mel, what a crappy way to start the morning. Hopefully they can trace the couple via credit cards or ATM transactions. If they took off in a van then they have to stop and get gas sometime. That's really sad. Especially when the forgetfulness first sets in. You can't put the cuffs on them when they first start showing signs but how do you know when to really keep an eye on them until there's an unfortunate episode or two like this? I do hope they will be alright.

I agree with you too on the remains at the WTC. People are still having a hard time coming to grips with their losses and this just rips the wound open again. I remember seeing one widow on Oprah. The topic was how she blew through several million dollars in compensation basically on a spending spree of high priced items like Fendi handbags, designer this, designer that. As they were interviewing her trying to make sense of this, she admitted that she was wrong to blow this money away but her issue and she kept harping on it, was that she felt that just dumping the remains on a barge in a landfill was a horrible thing to do to the families and she was insistant that there be a memorial placed at the WTC site to honor the deceased. Now while I think that it probably was not humanly possible to separate the human remains from the wreckage of the buildings, much less identify and return what was found to the right families, at least in this case where they'd find some bones intact, they should have some reverence for the dead and not make it a big media event. Our news is based upon sensationalism.

No dumb ad today and I zipped right into the site this morning. So I am vindicated as DH would say.

Meadow - thanks for the jokes! A few years back my silly friend told me the Unique rabbit joke and I was wracking my brain trying to remember the second part of that. Now I have it. You can bet that several people in my life will be hearing dumb jokes today. Thanks so much for sharing.

Well girls, tomorrow I am joining Weight Watchers at Work. At least for 12 weeks. I have done WW before but personally I think my body has changed and I'm having bigger problems processing sugar than fats. And I thought WW was more of a low fat diet. But hey, they revamp their programs every few years so we'll see what's going on with that.

With us leaving at the end of the week I have decided not to go grocery shopping and we will just eat what we have in the refrigerator and freezer. Going to be some interesting meals (and a horrid weigh in next week after a weekend of partying). Although I do have alot of diet meals (Lean Cuisines and a few of the leftover Diet to Your Door) meals in the freezer that will see me through to Friday. Good thing DH isn't fussy.

Time to get a move on here, talk to you later...
