Good morning! I'm happy to report scale is down to 213! So close to ticker I can almost taste it. I hope I never get this thrown off course again! It's terrible to deal with emotionally when you keep telling yourself you're not a failure but there's no way to believe it when you're not seeing great results. Just keep plugging and having faith in the chemistry. Less calories + exercise + lots of water = weight loss!

Linda, I agree it sure has been quiet in here lately. A lot of us seem to be struggling through this right now, but I sure hope that that isn't keeping our regular posters away. This is a support group ladies...keep posting!

Robbin, glad you liked the gazzelle. I had one and enjoyed working out on it watching TV. Way to go for dropping some of that Thanksgiving retention! Sorry to hear about the sickies...and I hope all is well!

Well, ladies I need to be on that elliptical and burning some calories! Catch you later!
TTFN!

Hey Chelsea! Glad you found us! It's been slow coming off in here for a lot of us too lately. But just keep in mind it's bound to come off with some committment. What diet/exercise plan are you using?

I'm Tina, 28 stay-at-home mom to a five year old girl named Alyssa. Been doing this life style change since Jan 2nd. of this year. Ticker says I've lost 59lbs. but I'm three pounds above that and refuse to change it...LOL! I will be back at it soon! Sometimes things happen and its hard to come back, but there's always a tomorrow with a new start!

Looking forward to getting to know you a lot better!

Welcome Chelsea! I'm Emily, mom to 4 kids. 3 boys and a girl. Glad you found us!! And best of luck on your journey. You can do it!!

I am feeling much much better- don't think this cold is going to move to my chest. Still a little stuffy and a small residual headache, but soooo much better than I did. Makes me really sympathize with my dh who has chronic sinus problems. Scale was down another 1.2 lbs this morning which I was *thrilled* about seeing as how I haven't exercised since Saturday. Haven't been eating great either, but my portions haven't been too bad. Need to re-commit though. I think I'll take one more day off the treadmill and get back at it in the morning.

Are you staying warm, Tina? I can't believe how cold it's been here!! I guess I was lucky being sick and having sick kids I didn't really have to be out in the weather.

Linda- I had no idea there were 70 cals in a Timbit!! Dang, now I know

Robbin- Have fun on that Gazelle and the 2 lbs will be gone before you know it!

Have a great day all!

Emily, I got up and fought -35 this morning bringing my daughter to school. And to top that all off, I don't have command start...UGGghhhh. Appointment for that is next week! They say the with the windchill it could feel like -48 at times...yikes! Way to go on another 1.2lbs., that's great to hear! Have you looked at that ticker!!! You're ONLY 6lbs. away from ONEderland!! I'm so jealous! LOL!

Hello ladies, finally got the house clean after putting up the tree and wrapping presents ...it looked terrible when we went to bed...i was just too tired to clean it up.

Doing well with the eating, not so well with the exercise. This cold is still hanging on and TOM is a day away...i am just blah and tired.

Jelynn- Hope you are feeling better soon ...both of us need to kick this cold to the curb and get back to exercising.

Tina- Like you i am 3 pounds from ticker and like you, i keep plugging away and having faith that my body is not scared of numbers lower than 247.

Chelsea- Welcome. We have all been struggling lately, dang holidays. With me it seems there is something every week that keeps me from being in top form for being on plan. I am a 33 year old wife and mom with a 13 year old son, david and 7 year old daughter Olivia. Glad to have you, seems like you will fit right in.

Robbin- I am right there with you with sick kids. Good going on the gazzelle. Only up two pounds is great.

Meowee- Seems like we are all on the same bandwagon of the ever elusive tickerweight. Only .4 up is not bad at all though...you can have that gone in no time.

Ok, time to hit the mall ladies. Have a great day towards your goals.

Hi ladies,

I’ve not broken my plateau yet but I am in a better frame of mind. I’ve decided against trying to temporarily maintain, I’m still working on trying to lose weight. My calories have been under better control lately. Thanks for everyone’s encouragement.

Robsia, I’m thinking of taking two days off at Christmas. I don’t plan to go wild (it’s too much work to take the pounds back of), but I am thinking of NOT counting calories for those few days. I weigh everyday, and I will have to do that the rest of my life to keep the weight off, so I think I will use that as my measure those two days. Thanks for your advice, you’ve done so very well and are so close to goal.

Cheryl, Good for you for doing well on Thanksgiving. That takes a lot of strength. Don’t you high speed internet!! I don’t think I could go back to dial-up.

Hi Linda, Thanks for the encouragement. I’ve been trying to lose weight for about 15 months now. The good part of that is that it’s been long enough that it usually isn’t a struggle; it’s usually habit. Occasionally those old habits rear their head though. I can’t believe you are already through with your Christmas shopping! I haven’t started. I’m not a great baker, but I sure love to eat baked goodies. I have promised the kids we’ll make gingerbread men to decorate, (maybe a gingerbread house), but that’s my limit. That is hard enough to resist, and don’t think I could resist shortbread.

Robbin, Have fun on your new Gazelle. Some of the ladies at the 300+ forum where I occasionally lurk use it and seem to love it. I saw that Wal-Mart has them now, and I’m interested in talking to someone who has one of the ones from there. Is that where you got yours, by any chance?

Emily, Glad you’re feeling better, and well done on the scale! Isn’t it odd how sometimes the scale drops even when we aren’t right on plan, and other times we can be perfectly on plan and it won’t budge. Six pounds to onderland!!! Woohoo!

Hi Tina, -27 degrees one day -32 another! My goodness, I don’t think I would ever get out from under my electric blanket. I agree with you, I certainly wouldn’t get my little one out for 2 ½ hrs of kindergarten in that weather. Those scales have moved for you! Good! If you just keep doing what you’re doing, they have to move. It’s just not always on our schedule, but they’ll move. (I’m telling myself that too!)

Mami, Glad you popped in. Please feel free to join us anytime. There are some very inspiring folks on this thread.

Stacy, Don’t get down about 3 pounds! That’s where I’m at for the month too, and I didn’t even have surgery! Before we started this, we might have gained 3 lbs in a month. (At least I could have!)

Welcome Chelsea! I think we’ve all been singing the “It’s so slow” song lately. Feel free to join right in! I’m 39 yo mom to a 14 year old DS and a 12 yo DD, and I’m still trying to lose my pregnancy weight. One day I’ll get there. What is “BF”? probably something simple, I just can’t figure it out! Whine all you want, we all do, and nobody seems to mind.

Ladies, keep warm. I'm having sympathy shivers for those of you up north. We are having a pleasant day in the mid 70s. Wish I could bottle it and send it to you.

Take care!

Oh yeah... Everytime I see BF as breast feeding it takes me a while to figure it out. I always want to say "boyfriend" but that doesn't usually make sense! Thanks and welcome again!

Stacy, wow...you have your tree up?! I'm thinking about putting mine up over the weekend. Something to keep me busy and away from temptations...hehehe! We both know how weekends go! Don't worry..your body will remember numbers lower than 247 soon enough! Hey, it's met them on the climb up right...time for them to meet them and say goodbye on the way back down! Hope you had lots of fun at the mall!

Chelsea, I just had visit with one of the moms I knew when Alyssa was in preschool. She just started Weight Watchers online two weeks ago and so far has lost 10.5lbs. I wish you plenty of success with your results!

Tammy, hey girl! Isn't frame of mind half the battle in this whole thing. Emotions play such a big part in weather or not we're going to have a good day. If I'm not feeling geared then it's quadruplely hard to put some effort into caring for myself and do things I should be doing. Glad to hear that you're feeling more better geared. I'm with you, I'm planning to have some days off during Christmas...okay, maybe one! LOL! (reality check, one is what I want but I got a feeling that things will go a lot differently on some days).

Good morning ladies, just a quick post before heading out the door. I'm going to water aerobics this morning, only -21 (c) today....LOL! Scales are the same as yesterday.

Chelsea, had a good day yesterday....drank more than 3L of water, burned 430 cal on the elliptical and food was okay! How about you?

Check back later!
