Hello Ladies: Today was my weigh in. I've been at it for 2 weeks as of today. As my ticker shows, 9 lbs. I can live with that! I'm really looking forward to see the 250's. Who'd thunk it. I'd want to see 250. How things change.

Norma- Wow, way to go! I don't weigh in until Mon. and will be anxious to see if I continue to lose. I have done real well food wise the last 2 weeks. I just have off and on days exercise wise. Today was an off. I only did about 10 minutes..ugh! Now I need to really hit it tomorrow.

Marti- I need new scales, but will get the real weigh in next Wed. at the dr. office. Seems his scales always weighs more than mine at home. :(

Oh, I got the yogurt and orange crystal light to make a shake. I will do it tomorrow if we are home. I will make it my mission to test it and report back here. LOL

Hiya ladies,

Sue - the healthy, homemade artic orange shake sound really good. I have the ingredients on hand, except the fresh pineapple, so I may give it a try. Hey, I have some canned pineapple, and will use that.

Norma - YAY :cp: on the 9 pounds! You're doing great, girl! I wish I knew how to break a mental addiction. What helps me is to just not have certain foods in the house. I can't have chips, most cookies, and sweets around at all. When I really, really want some, I buy a single serving of whatever it is I need.

Marti - ah, fair food. Yummy! I had a funnel cake at WDW in May when we went to pick up Katie and it was devine. Thank goodness that's just a once-in-awhile type food, right?

I didn't do any exercise yesterday with Ruth here, but will get some in today. I'll be sure and make the 5 days of my challenge.

Keep up the good work,

I didn't try the orange shake today. I just didn't want it, but I am sure I will over the week-end.

Food is still very good and I walked bright and early this morning- over 2 miles. DH said 2.4 miles. :)

If I get through the week-end without a total melt down or blow-up calorie wise I will have made it 2 weeks. During that time I stayed under 1500 every day...even though I had a shake one day and a drink another. I didn't mess up/pig out otherwise. So...may try one more week of the same.

Hello girls!!

Norma--Fantastic on 9lbs gone!! That's incredible!! So proud of you and your progress!!!

Sue--Does your husband walk w/you?? James is wanting us both to work on our weights. W/the new scale...we both gained after we quit smoking.

Jane--Have you gotten your treadmill yet? I'm wanting one too, but not sure where we would put it.

I got in all 4day. Walked most of it. Next week I'm going to workout harder or longer or whatever will make a difference. Not sure what I'll challenge myself with yet though. Need to think of that.

And just FYI......last week I had computer problems and I wasn't able to get online. So I wasn't able to start a new challenge thread. This thread is like the chitchat.....feel free to start a new one if you're the first one online and one hasn't started yet.

Just copy and paste our rules and get a new one going.:D I shouldn't have any problems this week but you never know. (Thank you Jane for starting this week!!)

Just wanted to let ya know!

Ok...off I go!

4days completed!!

Sue - I hope you do make it through the weekend planted firmly on the wagon. You've done too well to mess up now, chickie! But if you do, we'll help you get back on track.

Marti - Have you decided what your challenge will be next week? I don't know what mine will be, either.

Norma - yay for you doing well this week, and we hope you join us again next week.

I've got 5 days in, counting today. We didn't get the treadmill, yet. I found one that I can afford, and like, but all of them are so big! I sort of wish I could put it in the guest room, but there isn't room with the way things are now. What to do, what to do.

Jane: I have to admit that I'm an exercise failure. What if you boast that you will do something and don't? I took the challenge to exercise and I didn't keep up with it. I need to go to Jaded Ladies Jail. I guess I've been so inactive for so long that I can't get a handle on keeping a commitment. I'm still losing, (10 lb) as of today, but I am going to be a walking bag of skin if I don't start moving more. Any suggestions?

Norma - well, sweetie, the best thing I know to tell you is to keep remembering the "walking bag of skin" you mentioned. Or course, exercising for our health is the most important reason, but sometimes vanity will do the trick better. You're losing so well, and you and I both know that at our age, the elasticity of our skin has lessened so much that we have to do something to help tighten it as we lose. Of course, diet is first, because you can't tighten fat, but exercise has to be right alongside diet. It will even help us lose better, if we concentrate on intentional exercise. Since you already have the WATP video, why not make a committment to using it at least 3 days next week. That's not out of the question, is it? Or maybe you need to find an exercise that you don't mind doing, if you aren't all that thrilled with the WATP one. For me, it's the treadmill. I had my old one set up in front of a TV, had a 3-tiered basket that help my remote, some CDs, and a discman, books on CD, etc. But you have to find something that you'll do on a regular basis. Start small, and work your way up, and trust me, you'll get to a place where you'll feel bad if for some reason you don't get to exercise. In the meantime, we Jaded Ladies will be here for you, and will help you every step of the way. Btw, I'm friends with the Sheriff, so I can spring you if you land in the pokey, lol.

I am still doing okay. I did manage to walk last night after having a sweet instead of lunch. I am hoping that took care of the calories..LOL. Today has been good so far food wise. And I am planning to walk after the sun goes down. I need to incorporate some other form of exercise, but haven't figured out what yet.
