My computer is all better! :D
Mary Kate - where are you, dearie?? Sue - hey, you're so close you could come on down for the dinner. A big WOOHOO for you having more breath now. :carrot: Things like that make it more worthwhile, imho. Angie - dollar rolls are smallish prebaked rolls that Walmart sells in their bakery and before they are baked, the dough is about the size of a silver dollar. They come in white or wheat, and all you have to do is heat them for a few minutes and they are soooo good. Yay for the job offers! I think the one right in your neighborhood would be great, like you said. Minimum wage in the states is about $5.25 p/h. so you'll be doing much better than that in Canada, and I bet they will start you even higher than their minimum. Michelle - glad you like the new camera. It's important to have one you're comfortable with. Share lots of photos with us now, ok? Marti - I love it when the schools offer DVDs or VHS tapes of the kids' programs. Makes it so much simpler for the parents. How're things going in the search for a new house. Have you begun looking yet? Jules - I've missed you! I hope you and your DD are both doing better. The party I'm having is tomorrow night, but thanks for the good wishes anyway. Robin - wow, a luau party sounds like so much fun. I'll be there in a little while, lol. Too bad your DH has to work. Great news about the promotion. I'm hoping there will be a raise in it for you. I got so lucky! The internet guy called early this morning and said he could come over if we'd be here. So he did, and I got a new modem and he adjusted the dish, too. Also had Neal trim some tree branches that were bare when the guy installed the dish in April, but are lush now. So I'm hoping this is going to last awhile. Not gonna hold my breath, though, lol. I'm doing so good with the food, etc., and as I said on the other thread, I just pray it will last. The weather has cooled off to the low 70's and I'm loving that! I've got my windows open and the breeze is delicious! Btw, Gavin's wife's name is Becky, and I gave him written instuctions for her to find us. So Becky, if you see this, pop on in, ok? Have a good one, ladies! |
Happy Friday afternoon dear ladies. Hope you are all having a good day. DH decided since it was rainy and he couldn't mow we should go look for floor tile. So 5 hours later we are home after running all over looking at tile, doors, etc.
My housework was put on hold, but I am going to get right on that. (after the computer that is :) ) We have a cook-out to go to tomorrow for our neighbor boy who is graduating. I know for a fact they are having veggies and some lo cal food. Yay! The mom is diabetic, but doesn't do much about it and I am worried about her health. (she is overweight) She also has a 7 year old son, and is in her 50's. I even told her once to come here, but she didn't seem interested. I guess I can't save the world.... :( Doing okay today OP, and hoping to think of something good and OP for dinner. See you all tonight. |
Went to Lowes, the library, the health food store & Walmart. Popped in to see DD she's is doing okay. Trying to decide if she wants to move in August with DD and his gf, keep the apartment they are in now and get a new roomate or come back home. I kind of hope she will comes back home but she has had the taste of freedom and I don't know if she will. We might go to a carnival in the little town I grew up in--haven't decided yet.
Well I might be back later tonight, if not I will definitely be back tomorrow!! |
hey all,,,spent my lunch hour talking with one of the people who wants to have an interview with me. He gave me bad news...the receptionist job I had applied for was taken...(the one in my neibhourhood) Anyways he wants me to come and work in his branch,,,WAY across the city. Will take me 40 mins one way. And its not receptionist,,,would be sales assistant. Which I asked him what that was,,,sounded like receptionist work to me...different name,,,bigger pay...lol
Im off to usher for Hair... talk with you all later |
I was going to do individuals tonight, but I am drained. Today was pretty busy...then traumatic. I did get my work done this afternoon and even weeded and mulched.
I was going out to our garage and my feet went right out from under me. I slid down all 3 steps on my backside. My ankle hurt for awhile, but it is okay. Whew! I was afraid I broke it. I have a bruise on my arm and my backside is a mass of bruises. DH tried to catch me and he got his foot stomped and bruised. Am I a klutz or what? Later I found out that my SIL was in a rollover accident today and walked away with just a scratch. I saw pictures and I can say...he was one lucky fellow. Thank goodness! So..hopefully tomorrow will be a better day. Happy week-end to all the JL's. |
Good Morning girls!!
Sue--hope your okay--I did the slide down the stairs thing at a friends house on icy stairs--I had bruises all over!! Tell you sister to watch out for whiplash--if her neck even starts to get stiff get to a chiropractor.... Angelia--when my son's friend went off to dorm she bought white sheets and tied dyed them--her mom and dad are old hippies!! Well I'll stop back in later to see if anyone else is awake!! Have a great day!! |
Morning gals...
Just a quickie today since it's Jhanai weekend and it's always about her!:D Feeling bloaty and crampy....ugh! Someone make it go away! I will check in later on if I have time. Hugs to all. |
Just a quick hi this morning...Jane, I'm still here! Hanging on by my fingernails, as usual... :D
Weigh in at WW, down .2, not great, but at least wasn't a gain, so not so bad. Made our usual stop at Noah's Bagels on the way home -- Tim and I split one toasted bagel (blueberry today), with the reduced fat cream cheese. Chai tea for me (with lowfat milk and honey), black coffee for him. I desperately need clothes or I will be wearing cords all summer. My only remaining pair of jeans that sort of fit now have a small hole and are no longer ok for casual days at work. They are baggy but ok for yard work and cleaning house. Wish I could buy a much smaller size, but will have to settle for just the next size down this time around. First week back on my regular job, arm is really sore. And my upper back and shoulders -- I think compensating with my left arm for everything is taking its toll. Gotta run to the bank today, pay some bills, girlfriend across town is having a candle party at 1:00pm and I promised I'd go (should have just said I'd order something), house is a disaster, laundry is yelling for attention, and I STILL HAVEN'T GOT TO GO SHOPPING FOR THE BICYCLE I WANT!!!!! :tantrum: :stress: :censored: :bomb: I've been wanting a bike for months. :bike: :bike2: *sigh* Ah well... Hugs to all...I'll probably be back on later today... |
Hi Everyone ~~~ I've still been dealing with my migraines and now my mom was taken by ambulance to the ER yesterday, and we still don't know any results from the many tests they ran. I'm just very down and stressed right now, but my DH is taking me out today for awhile to try and just get my mind off things. I've been totally off plan lately and feeling just blah. I'll check back later to see how everyone is and try to get personals done. Have a good day!:grouphug:

Was too sad yesterday to get on...couldn't quit thinking about Josh being gone. Geez, two weeks went by way too fast! Everything went well until he got to L.A. His Sgt. was supposed to call me with the info on who and where to meet at L.A.X. well he never called me and by the time he found out where he needed to be they had already loaded the plane and wouldn't let him on. Fortunately, they got him on a flight with Hawaiin Airlines and he got there at about 9:30 last night. I am glad that he got his cell phone reactived because now I can call him anytime. Before he was using his friends or a phone card the turd. Anyway, he made it back to his second home safely and I think he is actually happy to be back. :( What am I going to do when they all leave? Oh, I know, cry! Anyway, V stayed home yesterday...had some vacation days coming to him and if he doesn't take them he looses them so he takes them whenever and gets paid for the day. We spent the whole day working on the backyard. Who would have thought that putting a circle of brick around a tree would take all day? Well, we did that, and filled it with soil, planted some daylilies and put mulch in,I mowed the back, and V planted a butterfly bush, I fed my roses and watered all the plants. So it was a busy day to say the least. I was trying to stay awake for Josh's call last night but 9 I was falling asleep. Didn't make it past ten.
MICHELLE...I did put a picture up this afternoon, actually I tried two. They are not head shots so you couldn't really tell anything so I took them off. I am going to look some more for another picture...I know I have to have a head shot somewhere. If not it will have to wait until I get this roll of film developed. I have about 6 pictures left to take and the way I look today it's not going to happen. I will be dressed tomorrow to go to church though. Hope you are feeling well today and again....love the newest pic of you! And thanks for sharing the brand of camera...I am always looking for something easy to use. (((((HUGS))))) to you sweetie   sorry to hear about your mom. Hopefully you will find out something soon. ANGIE...hope you get the right job for you! I too am always looking for the right job for me, only here lately I haven't looked much. JANE...hope you have a fun dinner party...the menu sounds so good. How do you fix your crock pot potatoes? SUE...geez, woman, I hope you are feeling fine today after that fall, ouch! You be careful. Glad your SIL walked away from the roll over without a scratch...bet that scared her to death though. Hope you have a nice time at the graduates cook-out. And WTG on your walking!:carrot: MARTI...even though I am doing the sistas point thread I don't think I will reward myself until I reach the 200 miles. Doesn't seem right to me to reward myself each week for eating OP, drinking my water, exercising, and taking my vitamins when it is something I should and need to do everyday anyway. But a bigger reward for all the walking I think is a great goal. Glad you enjoyed Jhanai's recital and hope you have a fun weekend with her! Can't believe James has never had ribs! :yikes: Must be a rib kind of weekend, lol. Was going to cook some myself today but since no one is home but me and Carrie it will be too much food. So will do it tomorrow. JULES...enjoy the carnival if you go! That sounds like so much fun! We didn't go to the state fair last year but will definitely go this year. It's the same old stuff every year just about so we like to skip a year or two. And it is outrageous what real estate is now days. Hate to see what it will be like in a few years, :yikes: ROBIN...depending on the area in CA a $1,000,000 home wouldn't wow too many people. You could get a little cracker box like our house for about $400,000-$800,000 out there, it's ridiculous. A luau sounds like a lot of fun and I know you guys will have loads of fun! MARYKATE...sorry your arm is sore, as well as your back and shoulder. Hope you get some kind of relief from all the pain soon. What does the doc say? A candle party eh? I just went to one 2 weeks ago, is it Partylite? I had never heard of them before then. Anyway, we had a good time and I am anxiously waiting for my order to come in! WTG on the .2! :bravo: :carrot: And yes, as you said ...at least it wasn't a gain. A loss is a loss no matter how small. All those small losses add up eventually so YGG! Have fun at the party! Hi to everyone else! Didn't go for a walk this morning. I got up early yesterday and did a walk before having to get Josh to the airport, and since I was so pooped yesterday (that sun killed me) and...I hadn't taken my free day yet I thought I would take it today and sleep in for once. Of course I was wide awake at 5...for a few minutes anyway, lol! Went back to sleep pretty quick and woke up at 9. So now I am doing laundry, a lot of bedding to do (mostly Josh's) and going to clean house today. Jason is working, as is V and I let the house go somewhat while Josh was here. His room will be clean again! Smelled like dirty feet in there, eeewwww! Anyway...hope everyone has a good weekend whatever you do! |
SORRY..I should have been clear that it was my SON in law who had the accident. He said he wasn't sore today either. Here all I did was slide down the steps and he was in a rollover and I am so sore and bruised I can't believe it. Maybe it is the age thing? :)
Cristina- Sorry you had a sad day, but it sounds like you kept wayyyy busy. You deserve a day off. Marti- HAve fun with Jhanai this week-end. Jane- Save some leftovers for us. Enjoy! Michelle- Sorry you are feeling bad....hope the sun shines for you tomorrow. Angie- I bet Hair was fun to usher for. You do keep busy don't you? Good luck on finding a new job. Katie- Yeah, at least you were down...I am afraid of a gain this week. :( I love candle parties. I am going to have to buy new candles for the new house (any excuse..) Hope you had a good day after all your errands. Jules- Hello...yes, I have warned my son in law about whiplash. He says he is fine. Just running around trying to figure out what he is doing about a truck for work next week. This was his work truck and he spends a lot of time on the road- superintendant for a construction co. We had a good time at the graduation party...ate too much of course. I have NO willpower..none at all. Makes me feel like such a goof. On the up side I picked out all appliances, floor tile, light fixtures, faucets and towel bars. Now if those guys would just hurry up and get it all done. Tomorrow is a busy day...working on last minute things before the realtor comes. Mon. the exterminator comes to get rid of bees, Tues. I have a Dr. appt. and Wed. the carpets get cleaned...so next week is filling up. OMG..I just thought of going to the Dr. and him seeing my backside all bruised....LOL. (it is the dermatologist and he looks over my ENTIRE body since I have had the melanoma) Fun! See you all tomorrow... Hi to anyone I missed. Thinking of you all! |
Hiya ladies,
Angie - hope you're having a good weekend. Did you usher at Hair? How'd that go? Btw, I've started the book "Two little girls in blue" and it just about makes me cry, because I keep thinking - what if that was happening to Mary's twins! But, dang, it's so good, I can't help but read it, lol. Sue - yikes, you're lucky you didn't get hurt worse. And you sil is lucky, too, to walk away from an accident like that. Maybe I should say blessed instead of lucky. Your doc will wonder what kind of a wild woman you are with bruises on your backside, lol. :lol3: Julie - sounds like your DD is doing ok. Yep, that taste of freedom gets in their blood, doesn't it? I know that as soon as Katie can afford it, she'll move. But I don't think that will be until she's out of college. Marti - just have a good time with Jhanai - we understand how it is. One of these days she'll be running off with her friends and you'll have lots of time. Tell her cyber Aunt Jane says hello. Mary Kate - there you are! Yay for .2 down. It all adds up, right? So why haven't you gone shopping for the bike yet? Do you know what kind you want? Will Tim ride with you? About the body compensating, when my left knee was hurt, my right one started hurting, too, from taking the load. I got to the point I didn't know which was worse! Thankfully, both are much better. The Baker's cyst seems gone, or at least better. Michelle - 1st, OMG, I love your new photo! And 2nd, this is for you ---> You poor girl, I'm sorry you're going through all this right now. When you find out about your mom, let us know, ok? Cristi - I'm sorry you're missing your son. I know what that's like. :( It was good for V to take the day off and be with you. Hello to Kim, Robin, Kathy, and anyone else I may have forgotten. Well, ladies, the dinner party went so well. Everyone seemed to like the food, and we had a good time. After dinner, the men went to the living room, and we ladies sat on the porch and looked at pictures that my cousin brought. Tomorrow is my big family reunion, and I'll get to see others that I haven't seen since last year at this time. I'm pooped, so I'm headed for a shower and my book. Chat at you tomorrow sometime. |
KATIECAT...CONGRATS on your weight loss; every little bit helps get you to your goal! I hope you can get your new dream bike soon!
CRISTINA...Looking forward to seeing a new picture of yourself when you get a good one. Thank you so much for your kind words! Also, I don't know if I told you that we ended up getting a different camera, because we had a problem with the Nicon. This one is the Kodak Easyshare C643 6.1, and it's really nice with a large lcd screen. SUE...Thank you for your kind words, and our weather was beautiful today, but still a little muggy, which is so unlike our normal weather. JANE...You are so sweet! Thank you for the compliment! We are having some fund with our new camera. My cousin has the same camera and every picture she has sent me have all been so good! Well my mom got to come home and she's doing so much better. My daughter and I went over to visit her and my grandma; my grandma is flying back home to Iowa tomorrow afternoon. The doctor said one of her heart medications was too high of level and therefore made her heart rate very very low, and her potassium was too high. She's already feeling so much better since the adjustment of the medication. My sister is taking over her banking and personal info, because I said I can no longer do it because it's affecting my health and family and stress level. Thank you everyone for your kind words, concerns and prayers!:grouphug: |
Michelle ma belle-I like your picture--I need to get a digital and try to put one one of me--it's so nice to have faces with the names. I am glad that your mom and grandma and you are all doing better.
Jane--the only way DD is affording it was because DS did all the bills by himself for four months--I helped him at first since the replacement roomate didn't work out and it was kind of a shock for DS to come up with all the months rent instead of just half--he let DD move in and she only pays the phone which runs around $40 a month and the electric which averages about $60 a month. She has a parttime job and can do both along with her cell phone bill and car insurance. She's not sure if she will move to a new place with DS and his gf or if she will get q place with some other friends. One of her friends doesn't want to dorm this year and is looking for roomates. She knows that DS and his gf pay their bills but then she doesn't want to feel like she is a bother to them. She is pretty confident of her friend Geneva who she met at freshman orientation but if you put a third in who knows and DD is pretty picky about some things--she is definitely fanatic about cleanliness and things being in their place and everyone doing their fair share. Angelia--bigger pay is always good!! Katie--One size down is at least going in the right direction--good for you!! I love candles!! Marti--Hope your feeling better--have fun with Jhani!! Cristina--I can tell you what you do when they all leave--you CRY and get depressed and worry that they are all right and wonder who you are without having such an active mom role.....but then it gets a little easier... Sue--I had whiplash once but thought I was fine since with my job I do tend to have neck problems--until about three months later I realized I couldn't turn my neck to check to see if I could merge onto the highway..... I am glad you are both okay!! Robin--how did the baby's bday go? I bought an exercise ball at Walmart on Friday--thought i'd do at least crunches everynight. |
Good morning all
