BEP...I think cutting down to 1-2 cans a day is a great start! It's just like trying to drink more water, it's something I have to work up to.:dizzy:

Mom2Gaby 06-05-2006 03:38 PM

:present: :hohoho: wow, anyone planning for Christmas already? Read that on another thread and almost fell out of my chair......waaaaaay too organized lol...........I am still trying to get my Christmas cards out from last year....:D

Drank my 30 oz's!! Ya, now will work on my next 30 oz's say by.....5 pm.

better get back to work. Rach called crying, she wanted to go home because of the other students death, she said other kids have. She said the media was there and she was upset. Poor kids.

chat in a bit!!

Michelle 06-05-2006 03:51 PM

SUSAN...I don't even want to think of Christmas right now! That's a very bad word around here LOL!:censored: You're doing GREAT with your water today; I better get busy! I'm sorry that Rachel is so upset.:( I remember when two girls from my younger daughter's school ended up missing and then murdered, it was horrible! She was close friends with one of them and had just talked to her the day before she ended up missing. My daughter got very scared and I had to go to bed at the same time as her for awhile, because she didn't want to be alone. Does the school have greivance?? counselors at the school that the kids can go talk with? That might help Rachel feel a little better, but it's just a very hard time for them!:(

Mom2Gaby 06-05-2006 04:05 PM

You thinking of Miranda & Ashley? Wasn't that a horrible thing. I remember watching the news as the fence went up around that creeps property as they serached. Sick, sick.

I asked her if there was counselors and she said there was but kids were leaving school. Maybe it is hitting them now as they notice his empty desk....Rachel said he had a ratstail and she would miss seeing that every day. I guess he sat in front of her in one of their classes.....

Thanks! I just noticed I owe on my pcard!!! ugh......28.00.....not much , but I don't have 28.00.....lol geez.......kind of old to be borrowing from my mother.....:dizzy: :dizzy: :dizzy:

How is your day going Michelle??

chickiemama67 06-05-2006 04:12 PM

volleyball

susan, the league im playing in is an outdoor league, so we dont play out on the sand in the winter time.....:D , now my oldest daughter plays indoor on a traveling team in the winter. my oldest and middle daughter are leaving tomorrow on a 10 tour with their church district choir they are in. they will be going to baton rouge and new orleans, arizona and texas, and just on the other side of the border in mexico. on their way home they will be stopping in memphis to go to graceland. it will be weird without them home for that long but it will be a good experience for them. my youngest daughter has already started planning who alls going to spend the night... i kind of feel sorry for her because she will be stuck home along with daddy and dalton, but she will come to work with me some and go hang out with some of her friends. well almost time for my break to be over. hope yall are having a good day.
hugs,
shawna

Michelle 06-05-2006 04:24 PM

SUSAN...What is a pcard?:?: I took Brittany to the candle light vigil on his property right after they had put that fence up, and it was very creapy because it was so dark! We were even interviewed by channel 12 news, the news reporter's name was Jamie; I just know she has dark brown hair. Anyways, it was a terrible time, and then about six months later, one of Brittany's best friends for about five years, was killed in a drunk driving accident. She still sometimes talks about all of this.:( Well it's about 1:30 and I haven't eaten my lunch yet. Better get busy since I have to leave in about an hour to go pick Brittany up from school!:dizzy:

Mom2Gaby 06-05-2006 04:36 PM

Michelle P card is purchase card/ credit card for business. I knew a girl that was killed in a drunk driving, the last name of Redfield. I think she was out in Oregon City too,she was 13. Anyway, this is all sad. Just want to protect these kids from death as long as possible. I use to watch Anna Song from KATU, I always thought she was so good in her reporting.

Shawna Why don't you want to play in the winter :shocksn: ?? jk - Sounding like Gaby.....why, why, why......
Sounds so neat with your daughters in choir!! Our church has a childrens/young teen choir,,,they travel to California. I wish Rachel would do that.

k- starving!!! Chat later......where are you Miss.Cristi ??

Michelle 06-05-2006 04:57 PM

SUSAN...Her friend killed in that accident was Britany Redfield. She used to stay the night with us a lot. It's so sad how things happen, and you never know from day to day!

Mom2Gaby 06-05-2006 05:05 PM

Extremely small world!! I think I am going to cry. We grew up with the Redfields. Britneys father was one of the twins and their sister was my best friend growing up. My step dad is the brother to the grandmother.....It was a horrible thing for that family. I am sorry for your daughter and the hurt she went through :( HUGS,,,,,,

Michelle 06-05-2006 05:19 PM

SUSAN...This really is a small world! Were you at the funeral? We were there and then Brenda asked us to go out to the cemetery with them also. My older daughter and Britany's older sister Amanda used to also be best friends. They would all take turns going back and forth between houses. It was so sad after the funeral, because Brenda almost had a nervous breakdown and we spent many hours over at their house, just sitting in Britany's bedroom talking about the good times with her. She was a beautiful girl taken way too soon!:(

Mom2Gaby 06-05-2006 05:28 PM

I didn't go to the funeral but my mom and step dad did.I remember Brenda from a long time ago when she was going out with the twin - otherwise I wouldn't know her very well. Sad that she had such a difficult time after the death, though I can't imagine losing a child.....and just the thought of anything happening to my girls would crush me. The loss of a child must be the worse thing anyone can face in life. Britney was beautiful child, she reminded me so much of the twins sister...... It is nice to know you were there for Brenda! :)

bep 06-06-2006 12:24 AM

Well...I took the plunge! I bought the cans instead of the 2 liters. Let's see if I can do this! :p I bought a TON of bottled water (I don't like the water in my tap).

Michelle 06-06-2006 01:17 AM

BEP...I don't like our tap water either. We have the 5 gallon bottles delivered to our house every two weeks. The water holder always keeps the water cold and there is even a hot water tab also.

Mom2Gaby 06-06-2006 10:26 AM

Good Morning Bep & Michelle and everyone else!

Eating breakfast and sipping coffee. Drank 50 oz's of water yesterday, hope for 80 today!

Happy B-day to my dad, he would have been 79 years old. Last day of preschool for Gaby! Need to go comb her hair.

Chat in a bit!

bep 06-06-2006 11:13 AM

Hmmmm...I thought diet pepsi (being a diuretic) was supposed to make you pee alot. Well...I will just say that drinking water is sending me to the bathroom a whole lot more than soda did!

Michelle 06-06-2006 12:49 PM

Good Morning ~~~ Not much going on here today except for housework.

BEP...Iced tea and water have me in the bathroom constantly. I've never been a pop drinker so I can't say anything on that.:dizzy:

SUSAN...Is Gaby excited to be out of school after today? My daughter is counting down her days. They are going to make their finals days full days, so they get out a day early, which will now be June 14. I'm anxious for her to be out too, because I don't have to get up to take her in the mornings or pick her up in the afternoons from school. Also, we're going up to the park just up the road from us to walk at their track every day; well she'll be jogging.:^:

Mom2Gaby 06-06-2006 01:15 PM

Michelle Good Morning! It is such a nice day so far. Yesterday was so muggy. Gaby is going to miss her bus. They have a pizza party today and a picnic on Saturday - so it ain't over yet! lol I have her going to vacation bible school on the 19th , trying to keep her busy. Going to the memorial with the girls tomorrow night for the boy that passed away in their school .

Also, it is my dad's birthday!:woo: He would have been 79 years old. My brother and sisters met last night to finish up on all the details of his money matters. We also agreed to meet every 3rd Sunday in the coming months.

anyway, co worker is getting on my nerves.......I swear to gawd....I am heading to my supervisor.....chat later!

Michelle 06-06-2006 01:42 PM

SUSAN...Happy Birthday to your daddy!:hb: :balloons: :woo: I know it's a happy and sad day also.:( Gaby is going to have a fun summer with everything you have planned to keep her busy! I'm sure the memorial tomorrow night will be very sad. It's hard to go to any memorial, especially when the person is so young.:( I think you better go to your supervisor before you have a nervous breakdown LOL!:dizzy: I'm going to go run some errands at Walgreens and Fred Meyer. Then when my DH gets off work, we're running down to Walmart.:o :dizzy:

chickiemama67 06-06-2006 02:02 PM

water

here is an article i found on the benefits of drinking water
http://www.dietinfo.us/Water1/water1.html
bep, the caffeine in diet pepsi is the diuretic, but it also has a crap load of sodium in it, that is why you are going to the bathroom more with drinking water. it is cleansing your body of all the crap thats built up in your liver so your kidneys can work properly.
take it from somebody who used to suck 3 or 4 20 oz mountain dews down a day, you can stop drinking it, it just takes alot of discipline, the first couple days are hard because you get the withdrawal from the caffeine and sugar, but after that you will feel much better and have more energy and no crash effect.
i also drink alot of green tea so i dont get bored with the taste of water.
anyway, thats my two cents on the subject of water....take it or leave it
hugs,
shawna

chickiemama67 06-06-2006 02:06 PM

I'll take those two cents, Shawna! :D Thanks for the link. I am actually doing suprisingly well so far. It is almost 2:30pm and I haven't had my can of diet pepsi for the day yet. AND I DIDN'T HAVE MY COFFEE THIS MORNING EITHER! Not that I am trying to quit my 1 cup of coffee I have most mornings, but this morning my 3 yr old fell and bit his lip. Kinda kept me busy and I just didn't have time after that to bother with coffee.

I REALLY want to be a water drinker! Ya know...someone once said that you will start to really like what you tend to drink all the time. If that is true, if I keep this up for a month or two, it should be my norm after that. I hope it is true. I wish I didn't like soda at all.

BAD SODA!!!! NAUGHTY, NAUGHTY SODA!!!

Mom2Gaby 06-06-2006 02:31 PM

ok, I am back....ugh!!

I spoke with our supervisor. I went in his office and sat down and said "I am THIS close to walking!!" He listened and agreed to speak with us on Thursday about our job duties , he promised to get me my own property asap. Probably won't be until winter though. UGH!!!!

I come back and some nerdy computer guy is upgrading my computer. Computer people are sooooooo weird and superior acting.....jerk!! :dizzy:

Shawna -    sorry you have to deal with morons too!! lol

Michelle - Have fun shopping! Rach didn't go to school today, ugh........thank you guys for the wishes on my dad. I miss him - I wish he was here today with me.

chat later!

Mom2Gaby 06-06-2006 02:34 PM

Bep - ooops, missed you . My computer has this HUGE font.....I can't see everything now....lol like Mr McGoo.......:D congrats on your water drinking!

bep 06-06-2006 02:35 PM

I hear y'all loud and clear on the co-worker thing! I am a SAHM now, but I have had to deal with my share of 'dandys' out there! I usually just sucked it up and ignored the idiots, but there were a few things that would really get my goat. 1) LAZY co-workers 2) butt-kissers 3) the ones that take credit for stuff they didn't do UGH! Ah well...people will be people! LOL!!!

Ya know...my absolute favorite book/movie of all times is Pride & Prejudice. I LOVE a quote from it...
"Ah well, what do we live for? But to make sport for our neighbors, and laugh at them in our turn."
LOL!!!! Isn't that just the best??? I always try to remember that for the dumb thing someone does to me, I probably did one to them too and just didn't even know it. LOL! That is one of my favorite quotes of all time

Mom2Gaby 06-06-2006 02:38 PM
