Side effects

Here are the side effects I'm seeing!

  • My hair and skin look shiny and glowing rather than dull and dry.
  • I can walk farther now and not feel completly exhausted and out of breath!
  • My lips aren't chapped all the time.
  • I have more energy that surprises me sometimes.
  • I did gain a few pounds but they're slowly going away...just need to work on it more.
  • I don't hesitate to talk up close to people anymore.
  • I don't panic when I can't find gum or a mint.

And these side effects are from what you ask???

I quit smoking back in March! :D :D :D

I have been hesitant to share this here w/you Jaded Ladies. Not that I don't trust and love you all...but that I would somehow sabotage myself as I have done in the past. I'd go a couple weeks and then start back up. But it has been almost 2 months now. And the good thing......my husband quit too!! In fact, he quit a week before me.

My husband got a prescription from his doctor for some pills to help him. After seeing him not smoking for the first week....I decided it was time for me to quit too. And I quit cold turkey.

It's an amazing accomplishment. One that I'm truly am proud of myself for. I've been struggling between needing to quit smoking and needing to lose weight. Well I've decided that....I don't NEED cigarettes, but I do NEED food. So I figured, concentrating on not smoking first was the right way to go.

The nice thing about it is I only gained 5lbs from quitting. I had expected to gain much more. (well heck...we all know my scale is broken so maybe I have gained more!!:o ) But from the last WI, it was only a 5lbs gain.

All in all, it was time to share this with you girls! Thank you all for being supportive in everything that I do!!

Marti ~ I have never smoked before, but I wanted to congratulate you for such a big accomplishment! I have been around several family members that smoked for years, and I remember how hard it was for them when they quit. You're wonderful and doing great!
