Back In Kindergarten #3

:welcome2: to BACK IN KINDERGARTEN

I feel like I am back in kindergarten in many ways.... personal, sometimes at work and now with the weight loss. I have done so many things wrong over the years.....emotional eating, pills for weight loss, eating the wrong things, failed diets, etc.
Now it's time to start fresh, kinda like back in kindergarten ~Jules

Pull up a chair and visit with us about our daily lives as well as share our struggles and victories with weight loss!!!:cofdate:

Hi again.

Lunch for me is pickled beets, cottage cheese and the albacore that I misplaced yesterday. I had whole wheat toast for breakfast, along with a banana. I had 3 cups of coffee.

My sister works in retail Deb , at Nordstrom now. She was with JCPenny's for a long time and with my brother in his business and back to the mall she went. I don't like the commercial part of the holidays. I hate the shopping during Christmas- just as soon park the car and not get out of bed....lol

Chatted with co workers and they gave me a pep talk on how to deal with control freak co worker.I feel better. I have a plan of attack!! lol

Anyway, upset about Becky and her ditching math. She can get tutoring in the morning *sigh. I told the VP that she has a lot of stress on her and he said that was no excuse. I didn't mean it as an excuse - she does have a lot of pressure on her. I am just trying to undertsand her and I do......lol - I just don't like the VP he is always excited and emotional...it is like bring it down some notches please......

anyway, people are backing up at the door - better get.....

Mom2Gaby 05-11-2006 05:15 PM

Cristi -

I meant to say that I saw that tea on the site. Something like "lose 20 pounds in 3 weeks."

Personally I hope to lose 20 pounds in 8 weeks. Think that is reasonable??:D

FrouFrou 05-11-2006 05:20 PM

Hello ladies...

Busy day...went to the mall (speaking of retail) trying to find something for V. I hate that I didn't put much thought into his gifts, sort of. Been on the computer for 2 days trying to find the right thing with no luck. So...I got him what he needs, clothes-what an anniversay gift. Oh well...forgot to mention what he told me yesterday. Okay, so, I have not had a pastrami sandwich the way they fix it in CA since leaving there. There was/is a place in Palmdale (where I lived last in CA) that had the BEST ones! OMG, to die for, seriously! The man actually called there looking for the place but they changed their name. So after several calls he called the chamber of commerce to see if the place (Pete's) was still there. Was told they are but changed their name. So he got their phone number and called them to see if they would sent some to KS! How sweet is that?! Even though I don't need it. Anyway, they said they couldn't do that. :( I told him, well, you could fly me there so I could get it, lol!

KATY...I don't think you are weird. I don't even like celebrating my BD or MD...anniversary yes, but the others, not really into. I don't like making a big deal about it and it's not because I am turning another year older. That doesn't bother me at all. Of course V is the same way but I always feel I have to make a big deal his BD & FD, same with the kids. And compliments are GREAT!

SHAWNA...hope the shrimp is good! DH & I love shrimp. I could probably sit down and eat a whole plate of it, or at least try.

GINNY...thank you for the BD card! That was sweet :thanks: We had the rain and wind yesterday, another reason I dreaded going to Wal-Mart. I like the rain if I don't have to get out in it. And of course it cleared up in the afternoon.

JULES...Monday at IF there was a lady there on the elliptical when I got there...tanned for 15 mns. and then did the circle which takes 30 minutes and she was on there the whole time. I was dying just watching her! Of course after a while I know I will get used to it. You cook on Mothers Day?! It's supposed to be your day missy, you should have the kids and hubby cook for you. Have a nice lucnh with DD tomorrow.

DEBORAH...my son works in retail...not sure if it is different with guys. He complains when the holidays roll around but about the store and not so much him shopping. But I don't think you are a scrooge. I think everything has become so commercialized.

SUSAN...is Beck trying to follow in Rachels footsteps? Silly girl. I can only imagine the stress she is going through. Just don't let it get worse than skipping a class. Hope the tuna and beets were still good!

Okay, sorry to cut this short but I have to get going again. Will try to get on later but not sure if I will be able to. So have a good evening!

Mom2Gaby 05-11-2006 05:33 PM

Hi Cristi-

Promise I won't forget your birthday, just waiting for payday tomorrow - It has been a horrible week keeping soaps and litter in supply. I went out the other night and dug dirt for the pan:crazy: - anyway, I don't use the litter pan, that is for the kitty - :joker:
Beck has been going through a hard time. Poor thing - she always disolves in tears at counseling. We really need to go and have fun!!! Too bogged down in all this crude:(
Beets and albacore were cans- so no problem there. I really need to drink more water. Vince is a lucky guy!!!!

jules1216 05-11-2006 07:32 PM

Crisitina--There's a lady that come in the mornings to SNT I see her sometimes on Fridays--she does 20 minutes when she first gets there and then 20 more minutes after she does the circle. She does the elliptical at like 4-5 mile an hour too.
Doesn't seem fair that I do have to cook but it's what I do. BTW when is your bday??

Susan--I had a middle school VP that was harrassing DS until DH went in. All tattooed 6'2', 230 lbs of him. DS didn't get into trouble after that until high school. Then in HS I was on first name basis with the VP of discipline and son had the female VP of attendance charmed. Poor Beck. You all need to go do something fun!! Why don't you Beck and Gaby have a girls night--videos, doing your hair crazy, painting your nails, let her do your makeup--slumber party style--maybe even the Chrissy Snow clone friend can come too?

jules1216 05-11-2006 07:33 PM

My birthday is December 16, when is everyone elses??

Dahlia 05-11-2006 07:55 PM

Hello ladies, I am here.. I did not float away.. but the greenhouses were literally shaking today in the wind. One lady comes in and says "oh how lovely, the baskets are dancing". she is a little wierd.. comes in all the time.. anyway we had a good day despite the weather.

Jules
it is so funny you mentioned I need yellow rain boots.. this morning ds #4 calls me and asked if I had any rain gear he could wear.. It was pouring most of the day... I didn't. The poor guys had to load about 6 trucks today not to mention people who picked up stuff.. so I sent ds#4 to town with a signed check. to buy rain gear for all the guys. So he comes back with the pants and hooded jackets for them all. So now they are all dressed in these yellow jackets, hoods and pants.. one of the guys said he felt like a fish stick.. they all said they looked like the Gordon fishermen on the packages of fish.... but they were dry all day.

Also, Jules, my dh has Belle's Palsy. He got it about 2 yrs ago in Nov. it has never gone away. His eye got a little better, he can wink and close it now, but it still is off a little and his mouth is still crooked.

Deb, I have been in retail all my life since I started working at 16. Now I own a retail garden center. I love the holidays. I am a holiday person. It was a lot of extra work I agree. I am not open for the holidays in the winter time. But Mother's day, and Memorial day are our bread winners.

Susan, your daughters are in the same situation I am then with siblings, etc.

I am so proud of myself.. the guys had a pizza at work last night. But I didn't eat one crumb. I came home and had my healthy supper instead. And today they sent out for Burger king whoppers. They smelled so good, but I had my veggie soup... I am so good..:) I want this loss so bad....

Christina, I have to work on Mother's day. Every Sunday I am open noon to 5. I also have a plate of cookies from the bakery on the counter for people to enjoy while shopping. I am trying to think of something special for mom's this Sunday.. dh usually takes me out for supper though. You are welcome for the card. Thanks for mine for MD.

My b/day is Feb. 23

Ok. well hello to everyone.. I still have to do payroll and some filing but it is almost time for Smallville. Tonight is the season finale. I will ride my bike while I watch it, then come back down and finish my work. DH made supper tonight. We had shrimp. I just couldn't eat very much of it. I love it but my stomach must be shrinking.

Ok. later

Ginny:carrot:

jules1216 05-11-2006 08:17 PM

Ginny--my DH hasn't been feeling just right--nothing that he can pinpoint just an overall not feeling well--I know he's feeling bad when he tells me to make him an appointment for the DR--he is going for a complete physical next Friday and we will go from there. I really hope everythings alright. We've been together half my life and even though he drives me batty sometimes I wouldn't have it any other way.
It is too funny about the yellow boots..I could picture the Gorton Fisherman in my head while I was reading your post. Is it five sons that you have? I am soo proud of you on all your litle victories!! Keep it up!!

FrouFrou 05-11-2006 08:26 PM

Hiya Chickies

JULES...that would literally kill me I think! :yikes: But eventually I may be able to work up to 20 mns, lol! I know it will take me a while. My BD is Friday, May 12th, as is my anniversary. I did the dumbest thing by choosing my BD to get married on. If I had to do it over again I wouldn't. Thought it would make it more special, BD & Anniversary. We were supposed to go somewhere for the weekend but instead I told DH what I would really like is a bedroom makeover. And so that is how we will spend the weekend, painting our bedroom the green I wanted to begin with.

SUSAN...it is me who is the lucky one! You better NOT forget my birthday missy, lol! Kidding :joker: I am not big on the birthday anyway, not sure why. Beck is probably feeling left out and just needs some big hugs!  Good deal about the beets and tuna. I was thinking you had them in plastic containers, lol! Man, that would make for a stinky car wouldn't it? I like beets but for the life of me can't remember the last time I had any. I tend to not buy stuff that only I like if no one else likes it. There are a few occasions though I have. I have to tell you, I sent you a little something for your desk or wherever you want to put it. Should be getting it soon, and look at the name on it-just a little something to brighten your day everyday! :sunny:

GINNY...I'm picturing all the guys on yellow and yeppers, thinking of the Gorton's fishermen, lol! Glad you had a good day in spite of the weather. I know yesterday when I went to Wal-Mart, the rain didn't seem to stop anyone. All this talk of shrimp is making me hungry again! :T Just had two chicken legs for dinner, not very hungry. Not sure what we will do for Mothers Day. DH and I are going for lunch tomorrow and possibly to a movie. Going to working on the painting so who knows. Oh, almost forgot...WTG on your NSV! :carrot: :carrot:

Hi to everyone else!

Okay, gotta get going. My Name is Earl comes on at 7:40 and then The Office after and they are the season finale shows so don't want to miss them. Then at 9 I have to go pick Jason up from work. Don't think I mentioned, he quit his call center job and is now working at Target, his second night. The hours are perfect and won't mess with his school schedule and it's a lot closer to home. The other place was about 25-30 miles one way. And, not sure how much I will posting this weekend. I definitely will try to get on and at least say Hi. So take it easy ladies and have a wonderful evening!

FrouFrou 05-11-2006 08:29 PM

JULES...I saw you had posted and wanted to say that I hope everything is fine with DH. I will keep him in my prayers. And you are right because my DH is the same way...it has to be something wrong for him to go to the doc too, men! And mine too drives me batty sometimes but wouldn't know what to do without him in my life. So (((((HUGS)))))) to you and him.

jules1216 05-11-2006 08:51 PM

Cristina-The beer drinking game to Earl and the office begin again at my DS's apartment--I tell you his gf is a saint--she does not drink or smoke and she quietly picks up their mess when they leave--DS's friend that was home from Iraq on leave says he wants an Alicia too--DS told him there could never be anyone as perfect as her!!
I am sure DH will be fine I just hope he does any tests that they want him too and I will feel better when they are all done.

Happy Bday, anniversary & mother's day all rolled into one!!

Mom2Gaby 05-11-2006 08:57 PM

I am doing my laundry. oh joy.

Jules - Funny , it was Chrissy Snow that was hiding in the bathroom with Becky. She probably thought that was where math class was beig held - haha. We do need something fun to do! Love your idea's.

Ginny - I am invited to a family gathering this Saturday! The kids like me more now that I am not married to their father. lol His ex will be there with her husband. I think it will be nice to have a reunion!

Cristi - Thanks for the gift! Whatever it is - lol That is sweet of you. I never heard of My Name is Earl - what is it about??

Better get.,...have to take a girlfriend home of Becks - the one she pulled the fire alarm with....lol - cute kids. Hope we all survive these years.....

Dahlia 05-11-2006 10:03 PM

HI again,
Susan you will survive, I am still finding out crazy things my boys did in high school that I never knew about..they never got caught and they all grew up to be fine young men... and no one was hurt.. so that is just life. The only one Rachel is really hurting, ( I know this hurts you emotionally etc.. but you know what I mean) is herself with her anger and attitude. She will see this when she is older, hopefully... and Beck, she needs lots of hugs and attention too. The good kind for no reason.. so she don't need to pull the stupid stuff for attention...but as I said, you will all survive...

Jules, yes I have 5 sons.

I have a co-worker, actually an employee story. Last Friday one of the gals took a phone call at work. It was a saleswoman trying to sell a handsfree phone system to us. An expensive system with a free 30 day trial. Well, this dingbat oks it and tells them yeah send it. We'll try it out.. it will be fun.. when I found out I was furious. She has no authority to accept any offers in the name of the business, she has no authority what so ever.. I told her she should not have done this and she just laughed and said, its just a 30 day free trial, you can always send it back... Well, it came today. NOt even sure how. IT was sitting on my porch floor when I got home from work. I have to return it now.. am not even opening it... but I am going to make her pay the costs of returning it. If she throws a fit about the money, I will take it out of her check next week... what do you think of this..?

Ok. well dh just went to bed. I am thinking of having a snack. Can't go to bed this hungry or won't sleep. Haven't been hungry in evening for a while. But couldn't eat much at supper. Think I'll have a small bowl of cereal. I already rode 7 miles on bike. I rode it for almost an hour while watching Smallville season final...

Then heading for bed... so catch ya in the morning. OH, yeah Susan I like tuna, been eating it for lunch a lot lately, and I like beets, had some for supper, but together, I don't think so.. but hey if it works for you. go for it

Ginny:carrot:

chickiemama67 05-11-2006 11:41 PM

was lost lol

ok i was lost for a minute but i figured it out .......had a pretty good night at water aerobics, came home and made the shrimp........it was yummy, and a hit with the family.......but i have to get more next time, only 5 a piece and everybody wanted more! we had brown rice and green beans.....kayla my middle daughter who is 14 got a little frustrated today, she is overweight and is doing water aerobics with me and did not want to go today.....i said tough you're going, then she whined about not being able to eat anything not healthy anymore .......i told her, those things we have been eating have gotten us where we are today, we have a cheat day once a week to be able to eat things that arent so good for us, but not over board and we need to take that day soon......LOL!! She hung in there and went to class with me and told me she was glad she did. Well its almost midnight......gotta work in the am talk to yall soon.
Shawnaa

jules1216 05-12-2006 08:08 AM

Susan--I do different things with both of the kids. DD of course LOVES shopping, but we do other stuff too. We dance around the house like idiots, we did the hair, makeup and nails--she always thought it was fun. I still always paint my toes a wild color that I would never put on my fingers--most times I have nothing or just clear on my fingernails--all the typing wears it too fast. My son liked to hit flea markets, hike or ride on back roads trying to find new ones--I try playing video games with him but I am not very good--except with Tetris and Asteroids--there was a downhill skiing one I did okay in and I like the racing games. He still teases me about some coputer game sampler he had--one of the games was golf and it was so easy he said that even I could do it---I was so bad the little girl character I was using actually dropped to her knees crying--he had never seen that happen in any game he played and thought it was hilarious!! my DD's friend Misty is a Chrissy Snow--I told DD that her IQ drops just being with her--luckily is only only a temporary setback.

Ginny--what's it like being Mom to 5 sons?? I would have had a second DS that would have been 16 now, but I had a miscarriage. I do agree with what you posted to Susan about things your sons did in Highschool. I knew most of what they were doing but apparently my son didn't want me to worry. He was always small and very skinny and got picked on alot--then the teenage anger kicked in about 13 and he wasn't picked on any more until we moved in his freshman years and he had to prove himself again-he dresses weird--think the Kurt Cobain thrift shop look and he likes strange colors oranges, greens and yellows--he has the ugliest two Mr Rogers sweaters--one is close to a mustard yellow but not there and the other he calls baby poop green. In a school with farm boys and jocks he didn't fit in well until he apparently won a fight with a football jock that was several inches taller and outweighed him by almost 80 lbs. I found out about it after he was out of school.

Work related--I have a headset with a remote lifter from Hello Direct at work--it's is very nice, but if you work more one to one with customers and several people answer your phone it won't do you much good--if you call the company and explain that your worker was not authorized to ask for the product and explain that it will not work for your business they will probably sent you a label to send it back. If you don't want to open the box--search on the internet for the company name and click on the contact info--most companies have an 800 line posted--if it is Hello Direct I can give you that number.

Shawnaa--the meal sounds yummy--good for you to encourage your daughter and you have a workout buddy as a bonus-this weightloss-better health does get discouraging--I want it gone yesterday!!!

Well I am going to finish my coffee and eat a bowl of cereal and then go workout!!

Dahlia 05-12-2006 08:21 AM

Yes, Jules, It is Hello direct. I don't think to much about a company that sends things without knowing if the person is authorized to do so or not..I don't care how good the product is. What if a kid had answered, I mean. They should have at least asked her. I am just going to send it back. If it costs something and she has to pay, that will be a good lesson to her. I can't tell how it was shipped. There is only a airborne express on it, but I went on line and can't figure out how it came.

My boys didn't do anything illegal or bad in high school, just a few times they skipped classes and went on a little day trip to the neighboring town or some silly things like that... it was nothing bad, but at the time had I known I would have been upset with them. Having 5 boys is a lot different than having 1 or even 2. The more testosterone in the house the more activity. I believe if you have even one girl among the boys it quiets them down a tad. But with all boys we had enough rough housing going on. Surprisingly not that much was broken. They were outside a lot. They were all into their own things, the first two were into football and baseball, the second two into karate, the last little guy had to try to get into either group. Always thought we should have had a sixth so he had a buddy, but he fit in just fine. Now they are all still very close.

Well, gotta go to work. Later
Ginny

FrouFrou 05-12-2006 09:22 AM

:sunny:Good Friday Morning Ladies :sunny:

Even though I am not a morning person, it feels good to get up early and get a nice long walk in. And v is home so we went together, a nice start to a great day!

JULES...thank you for the BD, anniversary and MD wishes! You sound like me...I always did seperate things with the kids too. They all got equal time and their own time. When they were young on their birthday I let them stay home and they got to choose if they wanted to go to a bd breakfast or lunch. Then they got to choose the dinner menu...whatever they wanted it was *their* day. But I do think kids need their *own* separate time alone with mom, or dad. I still do that for their bd depending on their schedule and of course I can't do it for Josh. It totally killed me that we missed celebrating his bd together. But I am going to make up for it next week, 7 more days 'til he comes home! :cp:

SHAWNA...glad you found us again! And glad your DD decided to go after all. I seem to do that myself...get up and not want to go exercise. But then I do and I feel so much better after. Like my walking...I HATE getting up so early to go walk but after doing so I feel so energized and glad for doing it. I know I'm walking my way to being healthier. Glad the shrimp was a hit with everyone!

GINNY...what possessed the employee to take charge like she did? I too would send it back, but I wouldn't think you would have to pay for it. Would think the company would. But...I would pay to get confirmation in case they say you didn't send it back, and totally at the employee's cost since it was her who authorized it and shouldn't have. I would never do something like that. My first DH always said he wanted four boys but then after two he was getting cold feet about having more kids period. Never will forget...I got pregnant with DD April 1983 and May 1983 he had a vasectomy on my BD, lol! I always joke that that was my bd present.

DEBORAH...I think it was you who asked if anyone worked in retail and I think I said I didn't. Had a *duh* moment though because I worked in a Hospital Gift Shop for many years and loved it! Guess I just don't think of it as being retail like a Department store since it was mostly gift items for patients. Of course the volunteers got first dibs on what came in and we always joked that if we actually got paid when we would get paid we would owe them, lol!

SUSAN... hope you have fun at the reunion! I wish my family would have a reunion, would be awsome to get everyone together. I even thought about trying to organize one myself and get some help from others. But no one would be willing. I can't even get my mother to get my brothers and sisters together when I go visit which isn't often. I think Jules had some good ideas too. And maybe Rebecca just needs some one on one time with mom, without anyone else. And you WILL survive! You are stronger than you give yourself credit for. Made me think of that song by Gloria Gaynor, I will survive...great song!

Hi to everyeone else, KATY, LAURA, MARY if you're out there lurking.

Well, I need to get going. Need to jump in the shower and run to the mall to pick up this giant heart shaped cookie I had them make for V. I can buy him sweets but he can't buy me any! He'll like that...Anyway...take care ladies and have a WONDERFUL day!

jules1216 05-12-2006 10:07 AM

Crisitna--the heart shaped cookie sounds fun--I always get my DH angel food cake which is his favorite, DS get chocolate with homemade peanut butter icing and DD gets cheescake with strawberry sauce. I let them pick for their bdays too--they either get their favorite home cooked meal or the restaurant of their choice. DD & I have a tradition for her bday since she was 15--half and hour massage (which my insurance covers most), pedicure for both, manicure for her and shopping. DS and I used to go to a big city and hit the museums we've been mostly to DC but also to Baltimore & Philadelphia. DD's ex got his birthday with his favorite meal of breakfast items while they were still together--he had said that nobody ever did anything like it for him--there are things about his life that make me fell so sad for him but then he had a chance to be happy and threw it away..DS's gf's bday is in August and she has already joined us for DH's night out in Feb & DS's in April.

have a special day!!

Ginny--I pm'd you with the Hello Direct return number. Hope everything gets taken care of--they usually ask to talk to the person who can make the decision--not sure why they let her authorize even a free trial unless she told them she could, but who knows. Hope you get a little sunshine although I am still smiling at your guys int he Gorton Fishermans outfits...

Hope everyone has an awesome day...

Mom2Gaby 05-12-2006 10:58 AM

Good Morning!!

I am going to chat about myself right now. I am on my MAC and can't do proper wishes to you Cristi :( *waaa

I had 2 scrambled eggs for breakfast with wheat toast. I am wearing my "fat" jeans again because last week my "fat" jeans were even too small to wear - lol So, yay!! I am thinking another 2 weeks I can go down to my other jeans. Who knows?? I am just happy my blouses are fitting better.

Beck was hurt by a boy yesterday he said she had "itty bitty titties".....poor thing. He also called her other friend a ho.......that is why she didn't want to go in the math class with him in there. Anyway, I was going to talk with the VP this morning.

Going to look at the house in Gladstone in a bit. Don't think I can come up with all the deposits but want to look inside anyway.

Walked 1 mile last night and pooped out.

Katy - I was going to enroll Gaby in the bible vacation class at your church. Is Leigh going to do it too??

Shawna - YAY- On the shrimp dinner :)

I better get. Talk more when I get these girls taken care of for the morning!

It is Friday!!! YAY.....

Mom2Gaby 05-12-2006 01:48 PM

Happy Anniversary to Cristi and Vince:hat: :cheer: :lucky: :woo: :o

Mom2Gaby 05-12-2006 01:51 PM

Happy Birthday to a lovely lady (that is YOU Cristi!!! lol)who brightens our world with her kindness!! Warm and heartfelt wishes for a wonderful year ahead of you!!!
:hb: :hat:  :belly: :cheer: :encore: :balloons: :woo: :gift:

Mom2Gaby 05-12-2006 02:03 PM

Ginny- beets, tuna and cottage cheese is so yummy together.

Enjoy your day Cristi!! The heart shape cookies sounds cute. :)

Jules - I have to get cracken on some emails to co worker. I have to leave a paper trail on my efforts to communicate with him . He is sooooooo jerky. I was going to start the email Hey Jerk!....but don't think that would be professional. What do you think?? lol jk
I have tried the taking one girl at a time. Hard when no one wants to watch Gaby. When her father was actually visiting with her that was nice....because it gave me that free time to focus on the other 2 daughters.

I called the school and the VP was going to investigate what I said.....he is always excited makes me want to start twitching....

yikes, my 11 o'clock is here!! I forgot all about it!! yikes...lol

The Fenix 05-12-2006 02:20 PM

Happy Mother's Day to all this weekend

Hi everyone!! To everyone who replied to my retail question, I work in mall management and I do most of the in house marketing for our mall and I just get sick of holidays. I have to go buy my mom and my mother in law something but for me its just another day. My hubby wants to take me out but I would rather just stay at home and read a book.
Everyone have a great day and good luck on your eating this weekend. WEIGH IN MONDAY AND I REFUSE TO BE UP AGAIN!!!!
Happy Mothers Day

Mom2Gaby 05-12-2006 03:34 PM

Happy Mothers to you too Deb!! I am soooooo ready for the weekend and Mondays weigh in!
I just had a tuna salad for lunch and need to work on my water intake. Suppose to bring a dish for tomorrows family gathering. I think I will be fine there. Never really like to eat in public..lol
Anyway, sloooow day.

Michelle - where are you?? Hope you are well and continued best to your grandmother! :)

jules1216 05-12-2006 04:30 PM

deb--I love when I can just sit home and read a book!! I'll be doing the cooking on Sunday!!

Happy Mother's day to all the moms out there!!

Mom2Gaby 05-12-2006 05:23 PM

Hi Jules ~
I just want to go home!! I raided the food bank we have and snuck out a can of pickled beets. I feel so guilty!
I went and looked at that cottage this morning. It is so cute! It has a extra room you could use for a 3rd bedroom. It is in the back of the house. It should probably be a utility room but there is no washer/dryer hook up. We'll see, I need to come up with the 800 deposits. It would be 245 more in rent. I could just do weekend babysitting for that. I don't think that would be a problem.....I can dream at least, huh?? Would love to be a mermaid!! lol
Ever think of journaling?? or blogging?? I was thinking of doing that so I can save you all my dribble.
Have my paycheck in hand!! Going to buy myself a case of beets for mothers day!
Katy - Printed of my registration form for next months vacation bible school. There was also a leadership training (for 12/15 year olds) it is a 15 hour training and afterwards you help up to 20 hours a week at the community center with camps and arts & crafts. I was going to sign up both girls. Sounds like fun and it will build their self esteem and keep em out of trouble!!

k- out of here!!!

Mom2Gaby 05-12-2006 07:12 PM

2 1/2 days until weigh in on Monday!!! Weekends are always hard for me. I will hang tough though and enjoy the days off with the girls. Maybe go get the 3fc book and read that. Best to you all and Happy Mothers Day!!

Hi ladies,
Back again. IT's still raining. We had about 5 minutes of a yellow glow in the sky, a weak attempt for sunshine. But everything is getting a good watering. So it can stop any time now.

Jules, thank you for the information. But I called dhl, that is who delivered it. They came back and picked it up, will put it down as being refused. So it will go back unopened. The employee said she did tell them that she was not authorized to accept the offer but they persisted anyway. Asked her her name and some questions like wouldn't she like to be able to try it, and would she use it if it was there etc...I don't think much about a company that tries that.

DH just got home so guess I'll go have supper with him. I made chili for us. Need something hot.. it's homemade... so later.

Ginny

Hi again,
Happy birthday and Happy Anniversary Christina:hb: :gift: :woo: :balloons: hope you are out celebrating tonight with hubby.

I wonder something.. if we say anything not liked by the forum they are right here but I asked if someone could help me get my mile tracker up. as you can see in my signature it isn't working.. and it's been days and no reply...hummmmm:shrug:

Anyway, just rode my bike :ebike: 5 miles and took my shower. Have my jammies on so going to go watch a little telly with dh and relax... catch you in the morning. Have a good night all.

Ginny:carrot:

Mom2Gaby 05-12-2006 10:54 PM

Ginny ~
Maybe you can delete the tracker and do it over again? Maybe if you call something anal and show cookie jar clipart you will get someone pronto? lol justa kidding!!! I think there is a forum on the tip top that you can pose questions on? Anyway, if I was a computer wiz I would help you!!

Thanks Cristi for the Mothers Day card!! That was sweet of you. I also received my Boyds Bear :) that was special! I love the sunflower Susan (Shady Day) is holding. lol Made my day!!

Just spoke with my Rach and she was crying because she isn't getting along with some other girls. Breaks my heart when she cries. I want to scoop her up and protect her from life's hurts.

I had a turkey salad for dinner. Gaby is asleep, Beck is at her friends house. It is real close. I bought her a package of oreo's and she came running back to get it. She runs like a deer- lol- so cute.

Night all!!

Dahlia 05-13-2006 08:04 AM

Good morning ladies,

Susan I have deleted and done the tracker thing twice now.. that is the way they say to put it on for our forum.. It is anal...hahaha. It's suppose to work.
Yes, to bad I don't have a cookie jar graph I could use. Wouldnt' that be beachy. Oh I am in a mood this morning. It is raining again, still dark and gloomy. This rain/cold front is hovering over us. Suppose to be here for 10 days. I need sunshine. I nibbled on some honey roasted peanuts at work yesterday, Mr. scale didn't like that, he is being naughty this morning.. so no nibbling today. I have a crock pot of stew brewing for supper. Will have to be careful in my portion tonight. I want to be down farther on Monday's WI..

Not to many are posting.

Our town lines its main street with petunias each summer. We grow them for the city. Today they are being put in. All kinds of groups and individuals volunteer to plant them, then the city puts on a brats roast to feed them at noon. Even though it's raining they will still do it..but less people show up to plant. It takes 520 flats of flowers to cover the area. That is 37,440 petunias.
There now you have had a lesson this morning. Hope you took notes, I 'll quiz you later. With enough volunteers it usually takes them about an hour to get them all planted. Back at the greenhouse it takes two of us women 2 and a half days to get them into the flats.

Christina, where or what did you do last night to celebrate? What is everyone doing for Mother's Day? Dh said he'll be taking me to supper after work tomorrow. He is going to go have breakfast with his mom. She is 91, living with his sister at the moment and has dementia. I'm sure my boys will have something for me. Two I'll see at work, one already called to see where I'd be. The other two are out of town, I'm sure I'll get a phone call from them sometime during the day. They are really good about holidays and special events. Growing up we always made those days special in one way or another. For their birthdays, they are all in the summer, they would get to pick what we had for supper. They always had a party with their friends and then we had one big party for all of them with the extended family. Oh you see their b/days are 6/29, 7/3, 7/7, 7/11, 8/11. So they are all close. When they were younger I used to make them those specialty cakes, Superman, Batman, etc.. my hands would be so sore from squeezing out those frosting stars.. maybe that is why I now have carpal tunnel so bad.

Well, I am tired of talking to myself so guess I'll go do some laundry or some household chore till it's time to go to work. Not going in till 9, it is always slow when they take out the petunias.. every one seems to wait till they are in.

Well, have a good day all. Check back this evening.

Ginny

Good Morning...
I didn't have time to post yesterday, sorry....I worked at DD's preschool, then bought groceries...didn't make it home til 1; then shoveled the you-know-what for awhile, then chess club and fencing for DS....I was just running from one thing to the next yesterday.

I thought I was doing pretty good foodwise, but the scale is not being very nice to me...I'm trying really hard not to get depressed about it. Today is another day......

Happy Birthday and Anniversary, Cristina
! Hope you are having a great day. I was married the day after my birthday( 6/15 & 6/16)....'cause I'm just too efficient I guess. I don't really like a lot of fuss for my birthday, and DH and I usually try to do something special every year for the anni...so we have our fun. This year you get a three-fer don't you - ( with Mother's Day)

Susan - Leigh will be going to VBS! I will be coordinating the craft station for the older kids. Leigh will enjoy having a friend there....

Hi to Ginny, Jules, Deb and anyone else out there....hope you have a great day.

I'm going to try the aerobics class this morning, then see what the day brings. DH and FIL are working on the house all day,so I'll need to keep the kids busy. We may go buy some plants for the yard....

Later

Hello ladies...

I read the posts last night to see what was going on with everyone but I was just too pooped to post. I will be glad when Monday rolls around so I can sleep in 'til 8, lol! Was up early for our walk yesterday and this morning but by 9 last night I was dozing. I am not looking forward to WI on Monday at all though. My exercising is coming along, but my eating has been off the charts! Couldn't figure out why until I received a visit from TOM, lol! Haven't had one is so long didn't think it would happen but surprise! But...I have been good with my water and vitamins...going to have to look at the calendar but if I remember correctly, I think it has been a full month and I only missed on day of not having the four bottles, so doing great with that. :carrot: Whether the scales show a loss or not, I am feeling good about myself and all the exercise/walking so that is good in it self.

THANK YOU LADIES for all the Birthday & Anniversary wishes! :thanks:

GINNY...we didn't really do anything special, just spent the day together. Went for our walk at 6 am then we both went our separate ways to pick up some stuff. You would not believe the flowers the man brought home! They are beautiful and BIG! Then we went to have lunch at my favorite place-Olive Garden. We don't like to go out on Friday nights because most places are too busy and Olive Garden is one of those places that the line is out the door not long after they open! Came home and did yard work. It was so nice out, sorry. I know you guys are having gloomy weather. I bet the street is pretty all lined with the flowers. That is definitely a LOT of flowers!

KATY...yeppers, this is a 3fer, lol! I think it is every four years that it does actually fall on Mother's Day. I don't really mind because I don't like to make a big deal about it all. The anniversary, yeah, but the BD and Mother's Day, not that big a deal for me. Sounds like you had a very busy day yesterday.

SUSAN...glad you liked the bear. I saw it and thought it was so cute. I know you like sunflowers, and this one will never die! (((((HUGS))))) to Rachel and Rebecca.  Made me think of my sister though in High School...people always felt the need to say stuff to her about the IBTC (Itty Bitty Titty Committee)! Not sure why anyone felt the need to point out her being flat but they did. Of course in Jr. High she would beat them up! And I am talking about the boys! Some kids are just so mean and I don't understand why they feel the need to be.

JULES...sorry DD ditched lunch with you. I actually talked mine into having lunch with us yesterday. Her and I do things together all the time but with everyone's schedule all of us getting together is rare. Jason had to work so he missed it. But it was nice.

DEBORAH...like you, I too would rather stay home sometimes and just read a book. We don't like to go at the busy times when everyone else does and I am such a homebody.

Hi to everyone else!

Going to look around at a few things and then go check how the green room is coming along. V started on that a couple of hours after we got back from our walk. We usually sit on the deck for an hour or so when we get back to cool down because it seems hot in the house when we get back. I enjoy sitting out back but can only do so right now in the morning or the late evening. We get the sun for most of the day back there. Hoping in a few months to build a pergola over a section of the patio for some shade and we planted 3 evergreens down the side of one end of it for privacy and shade. Anyway, take care ladies and have a WONDERFUL day and...

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!

Mom2Gaby 05-13-2006 01:57 PM

Good Morning!

lol - poor Ginny!! I am sorry about your tracker. I am sorry I wasn't around to chat. Your city sounds so pretty!! Love cashews myself!! I need to go buy some more apples and I bought a acorn squach last night. Going to bake it today, sounds good to me!

Cristi- Gaby loves the little bear too. Going to have to fight her over that! lol Mikes mother also sent me a mothers day heart shaped locket, on the back it says. Children are a mothers greatest treasure. I thought that was sweet of her, she said I was a good mom in a note. I think I will keep that the next time her son takes me to court - lol Glad you spent the day with Vince!

Katy - YAY on the bible vacation class. I am going to pay Rach to walk her over that week and pick her up from church. Also am busy filling out an application for Jr Leadership training at the community center for both girls - keep em busy!!

Happy Mothers Day to you all!!! I need to go pick up some girls for Becky now.

Hi to Deb, Jules, Michelle, Laura and Shawna!!

Back later this afternoon!!

FrouFrou 05-13-2006 02:03 PM

Hi Susan!

That was so sweet of Mike's mom. And you believe that note because you are a good mom!

I'll have to send Gaby something for her. I used to do a gift drawing for a baby loss site. The girl quit doing it but I have all these gifts left. Even have some barbie dolls that I got a good deal on a few years ago, lol! I figured one day I will give the stuff to someone, or to lots of someones.

Did someone mention cashews? LOL Have you ladies tried chocolate covered ones? V found some when we were out and about a while back and oh my goodness, they were so good! No wonder I'm not losing weight!

Have a good one ladies!

Dahlia 05-13-2006 07:53 PM

Chocolate covered cashews... omy they must be delicious.. I love both but can't eat chocolate.. so oh well. I will just imagine how good they must be.

Good evening ladies,
Whew, I am exhausted. .. even though it rained:rain: most of the day and don't think it ever hit over 59, we were super busy. We couldn't even keep restocked, plants were going out so fast. I left a list for the guys to hopefully restock me before I get in, in the morning. Not going to ride tonight,:nono: have been on my feet all day, not one chance to sit down at all. Even ate my tuna, or cat food as ds#1 calls it, standing up, between customers.

Susan
, I eat Bumblebee's flavored tuna for lunch with either some cucumber slices, or cherry tomatoes. I may have some cottage cheese or a boiled egg on occasion. So we eat very much alike. How do you eat your tuna? The little cans are tuna with sun dried tomatoes, or lemon pepper and there is a fat free tuna salad. I like the first 2 best. There is 4 crackers with it. How nice of your mil.

Katy you still shoveling *that stuff*?

My dh already gave me a present. He gave me a picture frame encircled with beagles, so I can put a picture of my puppies in it. It made me cry. But I love it.. He said when he was out on a delivery today, he stopped at a gas station and the car next to him had a box of beagle puppies in it..it was hard for him to walk away. He is taking me out to supper tomorrow after work.

Deb, I would love to stay home on these rainy days and curl up with a good book. But alas, no such luck.

Christina, sounds like you had a nice b/day and anniversary. Just being together was special as long as it made you happy.:cloud9:

Well, back is bothering me tonight, after all the carrying and lifting today, it's no wonder. Will take some pills tonight and hit the hay early. Hoping to sleep in at least till 7 tomorrow. DH is going to go have breakfast :hun: with his mom, so I will have house to myself for a bit.. maybe a nice soak would feel good. Well, have a good night everyone and hope you all have a good Mother's Day.:woo:

Ginny

*&^%$#@*&^%$#@!!!!!!!!!!

Can we stop the planet so I may exit now?? I am sooooooo frustrated I could scream!!!!

*sigh*........just pissed at myself. I took the gang of girls to the mall and was called within 2 hours from a very upscale store that they were holding my daughter and the others for shoplifting. Spent all afternoon there and in the end they cited all of them - Beck got "Theft 2" because she took 3 tank tops for $70.00. I shouldn't have taken them to the mall......:( we have a letter coming in the mail for a court date.

I fix my tuna with cottage cheese Ginny. I had a turkey salad for lunch and am having my squach for dinner.

I don't feel like a good mother Cristi.....lol Gaby and I had a nice morning walking in the park and watching the dogs.

Now I just feel depressed........

chat later :)
