Shelley I am really sorry to hear that Mike lost his job. I am sure that it is really stressful for your family. I was just thinking this week about Mike working and how he was doing with his back. Will Mike be getting two week severance pay?

Gayle what kind of owl did you find? Has he been picked up now? Gee I thought that it was traditional to receive tin or aluminum for your 10th. You must of had a hoot of a good time.

Suzy I see you figured our Cheryl's little secret.....lol You make a good detective.

We are just going to watch a movie so I better run. I hope that you are all enjoying your weekend.

He was an adult screech owl about the size of a can of spaghetti sauce. Just a little guy! The ranger came by today, he will go to another city and live in rehabilitation until healed, then move on to a zoo somewhere. It was a fascinating experience to have our guest stay with us for awhile. He would just sit in your hand and not even try to get away. Although, a few times during the night, he had to share a few of his owl sounds with us.

Dee, what movie did you watch???

Suzy, thanks for letting us in on little Cheryls secret! I changed mine tonight...take a look.....

Shelley, how are things going today? Try not to get too down, maybe this will open up something really good for your family.

Cheryl, you are doing a great job here and I hope you know everything I say to you is in fun! You are a great gal!

SuzyMc 05-07-2006 08:59 AM

"Senior Member Wanna be..." ~ Too funny!

Cheryl ~ I do hope you know that all this teasing is in fun!

Sometimes post counts don't always trigger the status change the way they should, so most likely yours worked and Gayle's didn't for some reason.

Tim and I had a 200th Lodge Anniversary dinner to go to last night. It was probably about a million calories, but it was so good! Fruit cup, a tossed salad with almonds and madarin oranges, prime rib, roasted red potatoes, fresh green beans. Dessert was over the top...a huge slice of coconut cream layer cake. Coconut cream anything is my all time favorite... I ate every bite! Today it is back to the real world of Low Carb Special K, but I sure did enjoy that binge last night! :^:

Suzy - You just made me feel so much better about all that Chinese Food I ate for supper one night last week.
Weigh in day tomorrow, I guess I'll see what kind of damage I have done.
Shelley - I hope all is well with you. It sounds like Mike will be able to find a job easily. I will keep my fingers crossed.

ShelleyM 05-08-2006 05:51 AM

I ate so much last night! Hardly anything during the day after my 14 mile run yesterday, but couldn't stop the entire night! I am such a pig! Needless to say, I shouldn't have weighed myself, but I did. I am up. I've got to get back in control of myself.

Calling all Floozies!! Please join me and Cheryl on the exercise thread this month.

4myloves 05-08-2006 08:57 AM

Hmmmm..... Changing the user ID is a neat trick, but I promise I never did that! It just kicked over on its own at some point!!

I had a company picnic AND a family reunion this week-end, so I completely BLEW my diet!!

Hope you all were better :)

coles 05-08-2006 06:06 PM

Well weighed in today at weight watchers. I was only down .8 lb. Making my total 18.4lbs. down. I knew that chinese food was going to haunt me.

Deelite 05-08-2006 08:41 PM

Gayle you have such a BIG kind heart. One winter morning we slipped into the hot tub outside and I noticed a screech owl sitting under our awnings. He just watched us and stayed there until evening.
I watched Dreamer. It was a really inspiring movie.

Suzy I am glad that you enjoyed that meal. You are on maintainence, a girl's got to live. You did good not depriving yourself and then realizing that you have to be careful for the next few days.

Janice a loss is better than a gain. You lost a lot in the last few weeks. Your body has to adapt. Besides that you should have eaten 20 on program meals last week and one meal of chinese. When you put that into prospective it isn't that bad. You are doing great.

Shelley after running 14 miles you sholuld be able to eat anything you want and not gain weight. Maybe it is from the TOM or from salt. Don't be to hard on yourself you look great.
How is Mike doing?

Cheryl good thing that every day you have a clean slate. You can start all over again. We all have times when there is a lot of celebrations going on and of course with that comes food. We just have to watch what we eat before the celebrations and after the party. You are doing great, keep at it.

Larry is moving my arbor right now. I really should be out there to supervise. Hope you are all doing well.

ShelleyM 05-09-2006 05:31 AM

There was an article in our paper this morning about the 3FC book. That was kind of exciting to see! Are any of you purchasing it?

I signed up to be a daycare director next year. I'll just be doing office stuff, and will work until 6:00 on Tuesdays and Fridays. It pays quite well, and I want to be able to send Becky some money on the side when she is away at college. I won't be able to get as much running in as I would like, but I should still be able to run at least 25 or 30 miles per week, mostly on the weekends. It will be long days, but the money will be worth it! My main concern is August, when I will be at work by 6:AM to cover the secretary's work for the month. 12 hr days a couple days a week. Wish me luck!!

Janice-You are doing great!

Dee-Mike is fine. He actually went in yesterday and got them to give him more money that he had coming to him. He will be sending resumes out tonight if he doesn't hear back from a place he called yesterday. I am positive he'll get something better than he had.

Cheryl-I never changed mine either. It just went to senior member. Maybe age had something to do with it:)

4myloves 05-09-2006 09:02 AM

Good morning all!

Gayle--I never get offended (well, unless someone calls me fat--I DON'T need to be reminded of that!!), so tease away!

Shelley, the daycare job sounds like fun, but don't overload yourself!

Janice, a .8 loss is still a loss! You're doing great!

Suzy--your lodge dinner sounds like it was divine! Yummy!

Dee--how'd the arbor move go? Did your "supervisory skills" help Larry get the job done right?

Hello to lurker Carol!!!!! Glad you checked in on the roll call board!!!!!!!!!

SuzyMc 05-09-2006 10:05 AM

Good morning everyone! Sounds like we all did a little splurging over the weekend. I really do believe that you have to treat yourself once in awhile. We'll just have to get back at it this week and workout a little more!

Janice ~ You are doing great! Any loss is good, so just keep going!

Shelley ~ Wow...you are going to have quite the work load! I hope that the changes go smoothly for you!

I'm glad that Mike will be getting all that is due him from his old company. Hopefully he will find something soon!

Dee ~ You're such a great cheerleader! Thanks!

Cheryl ~ Sounds like you had a fun weekend! I love this time of year...all the picnics and get togethers.

Gayle ~ Where are you? :?:

gdeann 05-09-2006 11:49 AM

I'm here Suzy Q!!! Just working at the store, mowing our yard, the mom's yards and trying to get ready for a garage sale on Friday & Saturday. We didn't have a sale last year because of the ailing parents so this year we have mega junk to get rid of! Allison is growing like a weed, I already have 3 huge garbage bags ready full of her clothes.

I can't remember if I gave you guys an owl update or not. The owl went to a rehabilitation center for birds, once he recovers he will find a new home in a zoo somewhere. The ranger said more then likely, he flew into a power-line and broke his wing. All I have to say is he was a very lucky little birdie!!! He had a huge pickup drive right over the top of him as we were trying to get out to the street to rescue him. I hope "Screech" is happy and recovering well.

Janice, you are doing an amazing job reducing your weight! More then likely you retained some fluid from the Chinese food. Next week I bet you see a lower number on the scale. BTW: Wasn't it last week you had a fairly large loss? I bet Dee is right, your body is trying to balance out. Either way, you are getting closer & closer to goal!

Dee, did the arbor get moved? Is it a wooden or metal one? I love arbors and gazebo's. In my lifetime, I would love a gazebo in my backyard!

Shelley, sending Mike special vibes hoping he finds the perfect job! So, with this new position, is it a done deal or did you just apply for the position? Will it get you out of the office?? I say go for it if it will get you out from where you are now. You are overworked and people tend to place so much responsibility on you because they know you will get the job done.

Cheeeryl.....did you see my new "title"??? I wanna be just like you someday....

Carol, come back!!! Come back here and post soon!

SuzyMc 05-09-2006 12:25 PM

Wheweee Gayle! I guess you have been busy! I have an attic that needs cleaned out...want to come for a visit? ;)
I plan on cutting lawns tomorrow...it's supposed to be in the 70's so should be a good day for it.
