I'm here, I'm here. *waving hand frantically*

I won't be joining the swimsuit challenge. I have made a decision to not join any challenges for a while. When I don't reach them I take huge steps backwards. It's too much pressure. But I do plan on adding exercise back into my daily routine, if nothing else. I always feel fantastic when I exercise so why have I stopped? No idea. But best of you to you and anyone else who joins the challenge.

CJ 04-20-2006 03:27 PM

Hi Teahoney! Good to hear from you. That's quite ok that you don't join the challenge - I understand completely. We don't want you taking any more huge steps backward! Good luck with the exercising - I could use some of that myself. I'm glad you posted and hope you come back in and post more often!

Love, CJ

CJ 04-22-2006 09:14 AM

Just popping in to say hi! I've been listing my food journal on individual daily threads so if anyone cares to journal with me I would love the company. Where is everyone???????????? Hope you all come and post soon! Have a great day ... Love, CJ

teahoney 04-22-2006 10:22 AM

I don't know where everyone is. I'm sure they'll show up soon enough.

I'm definitely going to get serious about getting in exercise every day. My daughter goes back to school on Monday so when I get her ready for school, I'm going to get myself ready for exercise. I'll put her on the bus and then go back upstairs and exercise. And then once she's home from school, I can exercise again by going out for a walk. The weather is getting nicer and she loves being outside. So that's my plan.

BeckyJo64 04-25-2006 12:50 AM

Happy Monday Ladies! Spring has finally arrived up here in Northern Idaho and it's great!

The past couple of weeks have been hectic, but I did manage to stick to my diet (pretty much) and make it to Curves faithfully. I'm surprised at how much I enjoy the regular exercise and the increased energy. There's a great group of ladies at my Curves. At times it's a real hoot! The weight is coming off little by little. Teahoney (love that name), congrats on your resolve to get movin'! I've found that on the days I least feel like working out, if I bite the bullet, I usually feel better. You go girl!

My husband's sister moved in with us temporarily. Her job was cancelled, so she's decided it's a good time to move closer to our family. So far so good, but I'm glad it's temporary. We get along well, but 2 adult women in the same house can get a little crowded; you know what I'm talkin' about! One HUGE positive is that having my sister-in-law in the house is that my husband has been catching up on the honey dos. It's his way of thanking me for being nice to his sister.

There are so many great things about eating good and exercising. I LOVE that I have the energy to tackle some much needed projects like painting the hall bathroom. I LOVE not being so exhausted by the end of the day that I fall into bed and go straight to sleep. The best thing is that I LOVE the way I feel about myself, body, mind, and spirit and how it translates into every aspect of my life.

Have a fabulous week everyone! I look forward to checking back and reading the new posts.

Becky Jo

Here I am-Back at long last!

Hi there all you Thin Wannabee's. We just got back last Tuesday night late from our cruise and had a wonderful time. It was all that I dreamed and more. In case some of you didn't know but our 4 wonderful grown kids decided that for our 30th anniversary we needed to take a cruise, since we had never ever been on one, much less our of the country either. So we went and spend a couple of days before and after with my brother and his wife in Boca Raton, Florida and went out of Fort Lauderdale with Celebrity Cruise Lines. We had such fun, for 7 days I didn't have to cook, make the bed or do anything at all. We ate great fancy meals and we even dressed up a couple of nights, I took the mother of the bride dresses for both my daughters wedding and Ken wore his suit and tie and we cleaned up pretty good.

We really liked Georgetown, Grand Cayman and Couzemel and Costa Maya, Mexico a lot. Jamaica was really pretty, but kinda scary. Everyone harassed you to buy everything, but we just said no and kept on walking. LOL That took care of that. I went snorkeling, fed the string rays and went to a banana plantation and a bird sancuary and actually got to feed the hummingbirds in Jamaica, they came to our finger and we fed them from a bottle and what a thrill that was I tell you. :encore:

But we are home and glad to be here, gained some weight, maybe 5 or 6 pounds, but it was well worth it and I figure how often do you get to do this? The first few days I went to the gym and worked out and walked and tried to avoid some good things, but our waiter kept bringing extra deserts and othe entree's for us to try and finally I said the heck with it and had to have a taste. But the good news is I almost got it all off already, just a pound or two to go. :yikes:

Missed you guys a lot. :grouphug:

CJ-Thanks for the Easter email, I loved it. Oh good swimsuit challenge, I will have to join in. Summer is a coming isn't it? Hope you had a great time with you cute grandaughter. I am sure she loved having her Grandma spend some time with her. That is great that your sister could be with you too. I missed you and love you much.

AnnieFannie-Did you get that job you applied for? I hope so and will keep my fingers crossed for you. So how does your apartment look with your furniture in it? I'll bet great, thank goodness for parents that are getting all new furniture eh? Hope you are doing well and getting things done around your new place. Thanks for the well wishes on our cruise. Wished I could have went with all of you guys, wouldn't we have a blast? :woo:

Missy W-How goes it with you? Don't worry about your 5 pounds, look at me I gained more than that on my cruise and I didn't even worry about that. Vacations and holidays are a way of life and all we can do is enjoy them and get when they are over get right back on the wagon so to speak. I am sure by now you are on your way and have a fresh start. Let today be a new beginning for both of us. I have to weigh today at my WW meeting and not looking forward to that, but will take it on the chin. LOL Yes we had a great trip and ready to go back again one of these days when we have some extra money laying around, which isn't too likely. How did your women's retreat go? I hope it went well for you. :bravo:

Becky Jo-You are doing so well on your program. I too try to go to Curves almost every single day. I too love the great woman there, we talk and it makes the time go by so much faster. Good for you helping our your sister in law, it will pay off in the end. See it is already your husband is being so nice to you. :)

teahoney-It sounds like you are on your way to a brand new you. That is great that you are so fired up about this. It will pay off in he end, with a brand new you. I too am glad the weather is getting better, I love to walk outside in he fresh air whenever I can. :cp:

Sherry-Hey girlfriend, got your emails about your move and glad things are working our for you and your family. You may be closer to me from Indiana to Tennesee now. Post when you have a few and let us know how you are doing. I would imagine you are so busy now, with all the unpacking and everthing else. Love and miss you!

Sylvia-Oh my gosh is that really you? I have missed you so very much. That is great that you lost so much weight. You are just like me, I was so tired of just not doing anything year after year, but this will be our year and everyone elses too. We all need to take care of ourselves and make ourself important too. There is only one us after all. I will have to try that balsamic vinegar, I think I have some in the frige, it sounds great. Glad that Nico is getting so ig and is a healthy little boy, I am sure he brings you so much joy in your life. Sure give me a call anytime, I would love to hear your wonderful voice.

Oh I forgot to tell you that my husband, Ken did so well on the cruise with his hand and foot injury. He actually was able to get into some regular shoes/sandals for the trip. In fact he took he tape off his toes and I even stepped on his boo boo foot on the airplane when I went to get out to go to the restroom and he said it didn't even hurt. LOL Also his hand is healing nicely and by he end of the trip he was able to cut his own meat, even though he did it backwards he did it. He went to the doctors when we came back and they said he has lots of scar tissue built up and he may need some additional surgery in a couple of months so he can move his fingers better, we will see. He is in good spirts and wants to be able to use his right hand so much. He is back to work and doing well and compensating, having to use is left hand on the computer. He just started a new job with the same company and his stress level is much less now and he seems happier. This job will take him into retirement in maybe 4 or 5 years. :jig:

Well guys better get off here and get some things done. Take care everyone and missed you guys like crazy.

Love you, Sassy Sharon :carrot:

Sassy 04-26-2006 02:32 PM

Hey guys,
I just went and posted on the new Swimsuit Challenge that our dear CJ started. So come on over and post when you have a few. This challenge is made for us, whatever goal you want to set for yourself. It doesn't have to be a weight loss even. Maybe you just want to make better food choices, drink your water, exercise more, journal or anything else you want.

HURRY AND COME ON OVER-CJ AND I ARE GETTING SOOOOOO LONELY WITHOUT YOU!!

Love ya, Sharon

~ Jamie ~ 04-28-2006 06:59 PM

Hi ladies!!! I'm fairly new here and want to be SKINNY!!! :D

My name's Jamie, i'll be 25 next month. I have an almost five year old son named Brycen (our bdays are five days apart) and ever since I had him I have struggled with my weight. I started watching what i'm eating, drinking TONS more water, and working out this week and have already lost TWO LBS! :D It feels great and def keeps me motivated! I am really enjoying my stay here at 3fc right now bc everyone is SO motivated and SO full of energy and welcoming! (I even passed the link along to my step mom, hopefully she'll be joining soon!)

Anyway, I hope to get to know everyone here and be part of this great little family you got going ;)

AnnieFannie 04-29-2006 07:31 PM

I'm still here. *jumping up and down* How silly.. I didn't see a new reply to the old link that I kinda just spaced off. Bad Annie.

Well, I didn't get the job at the funeral home. Oh well, I guess I just have to keep looking. I keep hoping something is going to come up. I would even settle for something part-time so I can still stay home with Emily. I just wanted to have the comfort of the extra income coming in so we could actually save some money up. Right now, we are kinda living on a very tight budget. Hubby is loving his job. I am so happy for him. He's keeping his fingers crossed that he will get full-time. He has to wait 90 days, but I guess the one that does the hiring has no problems with him getting full-time. Then he will have to work mandatory OT. His schedule really makes it difficult to find something. He works 10 pm to 6:30 am and when he goes to full time it could change to 9 to 7. So I am hoping to find a good employer that can be lenient with me.

My mom wants me to enroll Emily in preschool. I just don't think she's ready for it. I know she is going to be 4 in 2 days, but I just worry. She is a smart little girl, but she has issues with talking. I don't think she talks as well as she should. I think I missed the deadline for it anyways so I think it is a lost cause.

Weight wise.. not sure how I am doing. I haven't checked. I fear getting on the scale. Maybe soon.

I just wanted to check in and let you all know that I am still around.

 Annie

teahoney 04-30-2006 04:55 PM

I was supposed to start exercising this past week but my ankle was hurting me so bad that I was sure it was fractured. So I went to the ER and they are saying that it looks like it's arthritis. Today is the first day when it doesn't feel too bad so I am hoping to get in some exercise tomorrow. I should also be going food shopping so I can stock the house up with healthy, yummy things.

I decided to brave it and set a mini-goal for myself. There is no time limit on it but I know that mentally I can't wait to hit 286 again since that was my smallest a few months ago before I went and gained it all back, so I thought I'd make a little ticker for myself.

CJ 05-03-2006 11:18 AM

Good morning everyone!

Sorry I haven't been around but I have been down for the last week with a really bad sinus infection! I love spring but it brings all those allergie attacks!

Jamie:
WELCOME! to our small group here. I hope you come back and post a lot with us so we can get to know you better - and you can get to know us also. Congrats already on your 2 lb loss - you're off on the right track so keep up the good work.

Teahoney:
I hope to be joining you with that exercise every day! Today I am going to dig out my XL Glider and set it up on the deck (yes, I did say Dig Out - it got buried during our move)! Good luck on reaching your "mini-goal" - I just know you are going to do it to!

Becky:
So good to hear from you! Glad to hear you are doing well on your diet and Curves! You are so motivating me - I am going to work harder on getting going this week! Your enthusiasm is wearing off on me - I can do it to! Keep up the good work! And don't be a stranger - come and post more often!

Annie:
I am sorry you didn't get the job at the Funeral home - but don't feel bad, something good will come your way. Maybe the reason the FH job fell thru is there is something out there better for you. At least hubby has his new job and he actually likes it - that is a big thing there.

Sharon:
Well, glad to hear you are back from your cruise that that you had a great time! I so remember our cruise and what fun we had on it. It is an experience you never forget. Did you take pictures? Please do send me one or two of you and Ken? I'm glad to see you joined the swimsuit challenge ... I didn't put a deadline on it so it basically is the summertime challenge. I'm glad to hear Ken is doing so much better with his "injuries" ... poor guy. Give him a big hug for me!

Sherry:
Glad you are finally moved into your new home! Hope you come in and post with us soon! I have really missed you!

Slyvia:
How are you doing girlfriend? Don't be a stranger - post soon! I miss you! Hey - when you make those surprising phone calls - don't forget me! LOL

Well, I'm off to go start up my daily food journals again! If anyone cares to join me, you are most welcome!

Later....
Love, CJ

CJ 05-05-2006 10:49 PM

Just popping in to say hello. Hope everyone is doing fine - can't tell cuz no one is posting! I hope to hear from you all soon - I really would hate to see this group close down for lack of participation! Come on everyone - please come and post. Let's build this group up again like it used to be!

Have a great night!

Love, CJ

teahoney 05-06-2006 11:28 AM

CJ, still haven't started exercising yet. This week I have been sick. That's two weeks that I've wanted to exercise but didn't, not my own fault but discouraging nonetheless. Hopefully, I can start come Monday.

I don't know what has happened to everyone. This group definitely used to be more active. I don't know if those people don't post on the board at all anymore or just this forum. If any of you are out there lurking, come join us again.

AnnieFannie 05-06-2006 12:00 PM

Hey everyone,

I'm still here. Just been busy trying to get situated in the apartment and looking for work. I haven't done much exercising, but I have been walking everyday. I still haven't had any luck finding a job. I told my husband I feel like I have the plague because no one wants to hire me. He keeps telling me that I don't need to work. He just doesn't understand that I want to work atleast part-time because that means more income coming in. The more the better I say. That way I know we are not going to come up short on the bills or groceries. Plus it would be nice to get a car. I like walking, but it would be nice to go to the store and not have to walk home with a ton of groceries.

I am glad though to be on our own now.

Still have no idea how much I weigh. The more that time passes the less that I want to really know. I just know how disappointed I am going to be to see the scale up again. Just hoping that I stay the same. I can definitely be happy with that.

I guess I haven't posted much because I haven't had much to say or maybe more that I have just been down on myself.

My youngest, Emily, celebrated her 4th birthday on the 1st. I can't believe that she is 4 already. Wow, how time flies. We are going to have cake and ice cream today at my parents. This way there are more people to eat cake. I leave some there with them and it's less that I have to have at home to tempt me because I know I would eat some.

My ex still won't let me see or talk to the kids. I sent them a Easter card but I am sure they didn't get to see it. I am sure it was tossed in the trash. I am going to find a way to see them. I just can't afford a lawyer to take him to court to see them. I just wish he would see that he is hurting the kids by not letting them see me. I keep telling myself patience.. He'll get what is coming to him in the end.

I hope you all have a good weekend. Take care.

wannaBsize7 05-08-2006 08:01 PM

Jamie, Girl, I have been trying to lose weight since my 2 year old was born. This site, and fitday. are the best things. I feel that I am finally on the right track, with realistic goals.

Teahoney, I'm so sorry to hear about your troubles. Its hard enough to find time to work out, i hate to hear that your having to over come more obstacles. Just hang in there it sounds like your doing great anyway.

I've finally got my self in gear, and I think I got a plan I can live with. Just counting calories, and using common since with my food choice. The lbs are coming off. I've lost 4 or 5 already. I didn't make it to the gym to day though. I did heavy duty cleaning till 3, and that counts for something right?

CJ 05-08-2006 10:21 PM

Coming in for a quick hello. It’s good to see you guys!

Teahoney:
Don’t feel bad about not exercising … I have every intention to start also but my sinus infection has been keeping me from doing it too … wonder what my excuse will be when I feel better – lol. Well, at least I am starting to make it the whole day without eating bad stuff and I have been getting my water quota in!

WannaB:
Glad to see you posting in here with us! Hope we don’t scare you away. Sounds like your diet plan is a winner. I too think I am finally getting back on track and eating right. Yes, I think the cleaning counts – most definitely!

Annie:
Hang in there girl. You will find a job – the right one will come along you’ll see. Just take one day at a time . Good job on walking every day. Keep it up and watch your eating and I’m sure that when you get on a scale it will show a loss! Things are looking good for you – hubby has a job, you have your own place – and the right job will come along for you too. Maybe you can find a wagon to use to bring your groceries home in. Please don’t be down on yourself – and feel free to come in and chat whenever you feel the need. I don’t know the situation with your ex and your children and would never ask but I hope that everything works out for the good for you. It may just take some time.

Jamie:
I love your son’s name – Brycen. My youngest grandson’s name is Brandon. I’m glad you are enjoying the 3FC site – it’s the best place! WTG on the 2 lbs loss – keep up the good work. I hope your step-mom comes and joins too – that would be fun.

I love everyone’s pics! It’s good to actually see what everyone looks like. I guess I’ll have to change mine one of these days – it’s 3 yrs old already! I just so hate having my picture taken! lol

Well, guess I’ll go do a little knitting – working on a poncho – for me. I made 7 of them for xmas gifts – decided I wanted one too. Just got out of my hot tub – that felt wonderful!

Talk to ya all soon!

Love, CJ

KimV 05-15-2006 03:03 AM

Hi everyone,

It is so good to see everyone here! I have missed this sight! It has been 2 or more years since I've posted here. I also hope this isn't a repeat post. I don't know what happened, but I tried posting and had to log back in, then I was being told I didn't have access, etc. I will try to keep this short and sweet in case it is posting #2.

I am almost at the heaviest I have ever been. I think it was 223 at the doctor last week. My heaviest is 226 or so.

I also told my husband of 13 years I want us to seperate. The first thing I did after that, grab a bag of chips and cheese dip and finish them off. Now, I am feeling really depressed, and am finally in the state of mind I want to do something about my weight.

The best I ever did was years ago, probably about 7 or 8 (has it been that long?), was to stumble upon this website, and this group, and start posting almost daily with it. I made some good friends who were very supportive and understanding, and encouraging. Together with this group, better eating habits, and exercise, I found I could lose weight and feel better about myself.

Due to my computer dieing for good, and not getting one for awhile, I lost touch with this wonderful group of people. I also stopped caring about my weight, how I looked, and my health.

Now, I am ready to do something about it. I have recently been diagnosed with some health problems. Some from my weight, some aggrivated by my weight. I need to do something about my weight so I will start feeling better, and in turn feel better about myself.

I do not handle stress well at all, and needless to say, I am under alot of it. Today alone was one of the worst days of my life. Between my crumbling marriage, and my health, I have also been off work going into my 4th week for an injury to my foot. And will have at least one more week off before going back to work.

I guess that is all for right now. I feel as if I am babbleing, and I am tired, so I am going to try and get some sleep soon.

Thank you for still being here, and look foward to getting to know everyone again.

Talk to you later,

Kim

CJ 05-18-2006 09:07 PM

Hey guys!

Hi guys,
Hi how is everyone doing? Good we have some new ladies in our group! :welcome3:

I just got back last week from Washington DC/Maryland area, where I went for training for our Early Childhood Study we have been doing since the kids were in the kindergarden. It did end 2 yrs ago when the children were in the 5th grade. But now they want follow and assess then this spring when they are in the 8th grade and also when they are in the 10 th grade. So now we are just calling the parents to obtain consent, which is why we had training. Than in Aug I go back to Washington D.C for more training, the parent interview part. Than in the spring more training, maybe in Los Angeles for the actual assessments with the kids going into the schools. Plus I think I will work another study in between this in January maybe, plus work at H & R Block as well. Boy am I going to tired, but the money is good and when I have time off I enjoy just loafing. :coffee: But other than that, just been busy making my phone calls, so I thought I better take the time to post. Since I will be around pretty much till the end of the year, and till I go on the road in the schools I want to stay connected with this great bunch of ladies. :grouphug:

Pinkwhispers-Welcome to our great group. You will love it here. We will support, motivate and encourage you so much. Your boiled eggs sound good. I need to make some hard boiled ones to have on stock when I need to quick eat and get some protein in too. I love eggs too. :chef:

Jamie-Welcome to you as well. Glad you are doing good with your weight loss an congrats on the 2 pounds. Keep up the good work. Isn't it great when you step on the scale and it pays off? :goodscale

teahoney-So sorry you are sick. Poor you, between your food and your illness, just hang on there and do what you can exercise wise, no matter what you can do, anything is better than nothing. Just take a day at a time and do what you can. :dust: Don't worry I am not lurking anymore, but posting, let's hope we get some more oldies back. :comp:

AnnieFannie-Don't give up on the job search, something is sure to come through for you. I know the extra money will come in really handy, makes life a bit easier doesn't it when you have that money coming in. Don't stop posting, or feel like you don't have anything to say. We are here for you, no matter what. Don't be down on yourself, you are very important to our group and we would miss you if you left us. I hope things work out for you so you can see your kids, you are right, he will get his, remember "What goes around comes around". :frypan:

CJ-Oh you lucky dog, going to Florida, good for you. :sunny: Are you visiting friends or family. Well you have a wonderful time there. I send you an email, thanks for the Mothers Day email card. It sounds like you are doing great on your program and even getting the water in too. How are you doing on your GL Glider? I am still going to Curves and loving it. :running: Yes, do post with your laptop, we want to stay connected to you in Florida. I will miss you, but wish I were going with you? What part of Florida are you going to?

KimV-Hi there girlfriend and a big welcome back. I am so sorry about all the turmoil you and your family are going through. I know that adds to your stress level. I hope your foot is healing nicely. Hi again.

Wow! Two posts in a week! I must be back. lol

Anyway, I am starting to gear up for my lifestyle change that will have to take affect to lose weight. I am waiting (and not patiently) for some medication to get over with before I start trying to lose weight. My doctor put me on a steroid to help with the swelling and inflammation in my foot. Good News: It's working-my foot is healin, and doesn't really hurt anymore, and I should be able to go back to work week after next. Bad News: It's a steroid, making me gain weight, and side effects are awful. I don't feel too hot on it, but only one more day to go with it. Between gaining weight from not working, stress eating, and the weight gain/bloating from the pills, I feel like I'm about 8 months pregnant, and think I look like I'm about to pop.

Sharon and CJ: Thanks for the kind words and warm welcome. I have missed this group, and am very thankful for wonderful friends and supporters that I know are here.

Gonna go for now. Will talk to you all soon, I promise.

Hi everyone, mind if I join in. I have started low carbing and am getting back into exercising as well. I am 34 and have 2 boys, Tyler aged 10 and Kale aged 7 who keep me very busy. I want to lose around 30 pounds but I seem to be having quite a hard getting motivated. I have been posting a bit on the low carb site (the girls are great there) and I just found this post this evening and and I believe you guys will also help motivate me and help me to lose the weight ! :D

Hi browneyedJ

A great big welcome browneyedJ from the wonderful Wannabee's.

:welcome:

We not only don't mind if you join in, but are very happy you decided to join us.

I know starting is the hardest part of all when we want to lose weight. I can relate to you, when I fall off the wagon, so to speak, I have the hardest time getting back into the groove. But just remember to take things one day at a time and do the best you can and I know you will do great. It sounds like you are a fairly busy Mom with your two boys, who I'll bet are very active too. I wish we could just be like our kids, who are always going and you have to make them sit own just to eat. LOL

We are all on different plans, CJ and some others are on the Low Carb plan, I am on Weight Watchers, but really try to eat low carb on my plan. I find that when I am hungry, protein seems to fill me up much better.

We will indeed help motivate you and hope to hear much more from you and get to know you much better too.

Hey KimV-Boy look at us, this is more than I have posted too all month, me and you are smoking arn't we, with all our posts. I know you are happy that your foot is healing finally and you and you can soon go back to work again. I too know that it is the steroids that is contributing to your weight. I guess you have to take the good with the bad for another day or so. But hang on and soon you will be off of them and able to lose again. :goodluck:

Talk to you guys later,

Sassy Sharon

Hi there!

Boy am I glad to be home. Just got home from a field trip to the Fort Wayne Children's Zoo. This is the most I've been up on my foot in weeks, and I'm feeling it. But it did feel good to be out among the living, and up walking, and walking, and more walking. I actually broke the rules today, and talked Hannah into a little log ride the zoo has just to rest my foot for about 15 mins. She was very upset with me because we were asked not to do any rides. Some kids didn't have the money to do them. The teacher had to reassure here that one ride so Mom could rest was okay. But Hannah still gave me the devil for it. Hopefully she will stay a stickler to rules like that. Will make my job when she a teenager so much easier.

I think I did decent on what I ate today. Started off with a slim fast for breakfast. Unfortunatly, I was hungry when we got to the zoo so I ate at subway. That wasn't on the plan. And I still ate our lunch (pb&j sandwich) we brought, and a few cookies, but considering how I've been eating, I will say I did a very good job. Now if I don't pig out this evening.

I'm still checking out gyms to join. There is a Curves here in town, and of course the YMCA. There is also a fitness center that I would like to join very much because of the personal trainers they have. I think I really need someone like that, but money is an issue, so I will have to consider carefully what I join.

Hannah and I will be leaving for Tenn. either tomorrow or Friday for the weekend, so I don't know if I will have the chance to post, so if not, I hope everyone has a great weekend!!

Kim
