What's up ladies?? Get's pretty quiet around here sometimes, doesn't it??Well, I had a great time out at the lake, I just love being by the water,it relaxes me!
I haven't lost any weight for awhile now and I think it's time to put myself in the dreaded DIET!!EEK!!
Hope you all have a great day!
Sweet Pea~ did you make it out to dance?? If so, I'm jealous!!:D
Later ladies,
W.

sweet_pea 04-18-2006 12:52 AM

i've had some good news. i have been wanting to try E.F.T. (Emotional Freedom Technique) but i couldn't find anyone who did it, but by chance i found out there is a place within walking distance who does it!! they combine it with bach flowers as well and right now anything natural gets a thumbs up from me so i have booked a session on friday. fingers crossed. i have low expectations but i figure it is worth trying. it's been on my mind a lot so i feel like it's my intuition giving me a nudge to take a look

yes wendy definitely quiet - everyone but me must have gone away for the weekend!

I went to ceroc dancing last night I’m not sure I’ll rush back. I definitely prefer ballroom and latin. They were doing the jive on tv in the dance contest last night and I was so excited. I just love that dance. Good ceroc is ok but I think I’m just a latin girl! But it was exercise and getting out of the house so that’s all a big tick. i checked out the men too :D

I took a pill for my sinus and it helped but still slight dizziness. It really is odd that I could have a headache without any other obvious sinus symptoms. Slight nasal drip but really nothing. Wonder if the doc has it right???

i went into town today and checked out the new library. it's at least 2x the size of the old one and very modern and light and airy - very nice. i also did some groceries and other errands and now i'm thinking of a lie down. i didn't sleep much last night. i was up late writing and then didn't get to sleep until about 3am. cat woke me at 6am, then a courier at 730am and so on. i definitely need a catch up. my mood is ok at the moment except for the headache so that's a big plus!!! my dogs are extremely wet. one thing about goldens is that they're big lovers of water so when it rains they race outside and lie in it hoping to get wet. they used to dig holes too so they'd fill up and then when the rain came they'd have their own mud baths. i've been trying to keep them all filled up. ugh winter will not be fun...

i think being by water is soothing too. i have my eye on a place with bush and sea views that i would like to buy but i have to wait for this one to sell first. fingers crossed. one set of people extremely interested but they are being unrealistic on dollars. don't know what is happening with the other ones that were interested. looks like they got cold feet ;)

megsa 04-18-2006 04:22 AM

Hello Everybody,

I'm back. I did check in on Sunday, but didn't have my password, so couldn't post :( All that chocolate that I've been eating means that I'm back on the wagon as of yesterday! I'm going away next week for a week, so want to look good for my friends so I'm back exercising as well :D Did weights on sun so my triceps are really sore and more coming tonight!

Glad to hear that you all had good weekends. I didn't do much, just chilled and read (3 books that I can remember :D ) Have had some work, but the PE is out at the mo and he's mad an error on a document I'm doing for him, so now I'm playing the waiting game!

Winter has arrived in our part of the world and it looks like it's going to be a bad one - I'm not looking forward to it, but at least the sun shines and it doesn't rain. Our new flat is also really warm, so some mornings may come as a bit of a shock!

Okay, well that's all I've got to say today.

Sweet - good luck for Friday. I love Bach's Flower Remedies and at times have almost mainlined Rescue Remedy! That has to be one of the seven wonders of the world!

sweet_pea 04-18-2006 05:18 AM

Hi Meg, sounds like you've had a good weekend hehe

yes winter is arriving here too... horrid wet weather
well done on the exercise

megsa 04-18-2006 07:20 AM

I did 30 min on the bike as well and that almost killed me! Tonight Survivor:Guatamala starts, so it's weights and no cardio! The rain has started here now and the last thing I feel like is sitting here. Doesn't help that I brought the wrong book!

Wide in Winnipeg 04-18-2006 03:19 PM

Hi all! Thought I'd pop in ! I'm in a foul mood today so I'm keeping it short and sweet!Have a nice day!

megsa 04-19-2006 07:29 AM

Nothing happening on this side of the planet. Cold and want more to eat, but not sure what as would kill for bread, but not allowed again this week! Still stiff and sore and not looking forward to hitting the ex. bike tonight...

Til tomorrow......

sli 04-19-2006 10:46 AM

Sadi-I am glad that he made it home ok. I wish I could vent with ya about the tanning but I love to tan but I just haven't had the time lately. It is so relaxing to just lay there and tan..awwee..oh well. At least you have the right attitude and your going right back to the diet today..:carrot: About once a week I have what I call real food. I don't over do it but it stops the crazy cravings and it helps me stay on the diet.
Megsa-I sympathise with you on the cold, living in Indiana the majority of the year its cold here.:( We are just now starting to warm up. As for the bread, where I work is just across the street from a bakery and we have had the doors open this week because of the nice weather and breeze. Well the nice breeze is bringing in the smell of homemade bread and it is just KILLING me..:dizzy:

happychick06 04-19-2006 11:18 AM

Good Morning to all

Hey ya'll.:) The weather here in Arkansas changes so much. If you don't like the weather today stick around it will change tommorrow. It has been in the 90s this week but is supposed to be cold again tonight. I already have a sore throat. I can't put my winter clothes up yet because I still have to wear long sleeves sometimes. Shorts and long sleeves makes a funny picture but it is the truth here. It is perfect in the evenings for a long walk.
And I too am a bread lover...four days now without it. Withdrawels not too bad, yet. As long as I don't see it I am not tempted. Any of you try the low carb kind of diet? I am trying but having a hard time finding things I can eat.

Wide in Winnipeg 04-19-2006 01:51 PM

Hi everyone! been really busy with trying to get info together for court next week. For those of you that don't know,I am in a big battle with my "ex" over EVERYTHING!!
I should have been divorced 2 months ago but he is stalling everything thinking I will change my mind and go back to him!HAHAHA!!!!Not a freakin' chance of that ever happening!
He also wants custody of my son(he is the biological father),but I'm fighting that too because he is a crack addict and has a criminal record 12 pages long!
He is just he biggest loser I've ever met in my life, but I do have a handsome, intelligent boy out of it!
Well, back to work, unfortunatly the diet and exercise is on the back burner until after court on the 26th,wish me luck!
W.

megsa 04-20-2006 04:18 AM

Wendy - Good Luck with Court. Will be thinking of you then (but may be at the wrong time for you given I'm on the otherside of the planet!);)

Happy - I'm sort of doing SBD. It works very well for me, but I do find that when I add the starch back in I have a problem just adding one serving a day :o This week I'm just cutting out starch as much as possible. I caved and had some cookies last night, but am back into it this am. I've discovered that hummus and carrot sticks are just TO DIE FOR!!!:carrot: I could eat that until it comes out of my ears. Peppers are also really good with the hummus. I've taken a bit of a break from the yoghurt as I was eating alot and not enjoying it anymore! It can be a bugger not being able to eat bread or crispbread, as it does pad your food out. I have found that cottage cheese and mayo make a salad really good as well. Send me a PM and I'll let you know what worked for me, although there's lots of stuff that I can't get here.

sli - it's warmer today but I still wished that it was weekend when I got up today! At least next week is a short one. We've got some public holidays and I'm taking a few days leave as well. Will be going to visit friends at the sea and can hardly wait!

Okay...enough from me, my work is done and my book is calling my name really loudly now. Will see you all tomorrow.

Mwah

sweet_pea 04-20-2006 05:52 AM

good luck with your court case wendy. i hope you get a fair judge and an outcome you're happy with

sweet_pea 04-23-2006 01:45 AM

Today’s open home was quite good – we had 5 groups of people through including the group that let the dogs out of their pen, much to their great excitement. Having the other open home across the road was a big help. Got lots of people off their open home. They are similar price. My house is $8,000 more so it’s basically the same type of buyers. Very pleased about it.

Exercise didn’t happen today. I got some activity cleaning but I only went for a short walk to the end of the street and deposited the dogs in the park then came home. Let’s just forget food for today! I have to get myself back on a proper schedule for eating. I am eating lunch at 3 or 4pm a lot of days and it mucks everything up. plus I am forgetting to give the dogs their lunch as my own timetable is so up the woopsie. I’d like to cut them back to 2 meals a day but right now jasmine needs 3 meals as she can’t eat a big enough meal for me to give her only 2 bowls of food. And of course saffie is very happy to help out with any leftovers if I give jasmine more than she can handle! Honestly she’s a worse scavenger than me. One good thing I got some lemons from a vacant section by the park. I’d like to get back to morning lemon juice and my own tree is empty now

I have been doing lots of reading lately and it is helping relax me a lot. I adore crime novels. One day i'd like to write one.

jazy 04-24-2006 03:59 AM

Hey i'm back!!

WOW!! It has been a while since I been here. But i guess the important fact is that I came back .Hey wendy!! REMEMBER ME!! well ,I remember you .I am so proud that you have been doing so awsome with your weight.I on the other hand have been a total mess for to long. With my job and school.trying to have a social life and be with my family is soo hard.I am so in search to try and turn my life around but, I just dont know were to start .So, I came here !! I guess this is where I actually was acomplishing something.I am definetly going to start something to start to take the weight of but, I am not sure yet ...I just wanted to say hi and tell you that I intend on coming back and giving it another try!!! Hi , to all the newbees and goodluck to all the veterans. :carrot: :carrot: :carrot:

sweet_pea 04-24-2006 04:21 AM

hi jazy!!! nice to see you back again :)

megsa 04-24-2006 05:47 AM

Hi Jazy, good to see you around again. I know how the weight thing goes. Mine isn't going anywhere at the moment. I'm trying to eat healthily and not too many sweets. I'm off for the weekend on Wed and will try to get back on all the various wagons on my return!

Sweet - good to hear that you're reading again! Life always looks so much better from behind a good book! I'm busy reading one called Pompeii by Robert Harris. Quite enjoying it. There's a lot of talk going on about the Da Vinci Code. Have you read it? If not, don't! Was the biggest waste of a weekend for me.

Anyway, work calls.
Later...

sweet_pea 04-24-2006 07:08 AM

meg you made me laugh. i started the da vinci code but couldn't get into it so i abandoned it. right now i am reading some humourous books. the archy mcnally detective series and the serge books by tim dorsey. it's a change of pace for me. yes i LOVE reading

my weight is a disaster area but i seem to have a psychological obstacle. my emotional eating is crazy right now. i weighed myself and i've been stuck at 84kg for way too long but having trouble breaking thru. i'm starting a handwritten journal to try and get to the bottom of it. my self control right now is not enough to stop my eating.

meg where are you going for your weekend away?

megsa 04-24-2006 08:22 AM

I'm off to Cape Town to visit friends. One will be going to the States later in the year, so this will be the last time I see her for quite a while! I know the feeling about self control being awol. Mine is as well! I think that I'll also have to start with the food diary when I get back. I'm hoping that I don't go too overboard while away and will try to do as much walking as possible. Now I'm busy trying to organise when I'll sleep where!

After reading the Da Vinci Code I was reminded exactly why I don't read the 'hyped' books - this being that they mostly stink! My mom and I went to the library on saturday, so I had 8 books from there and I bought another 3 plus two magazines! My mom said that I was obviously stocking up for the holiday!! The flight is two hours, so I don't want to run out before I even get there! I've started reading a series by Nora Roberts writing as JD Robb and find them really good!!!! Not so much romance and more crime set in 2058/9.

How did your massage thingy go on Friday?

Wide in Winnipeg 04-24-2006 06:36 PM

 Thinking of you all!
W.

sweet_pea 04-24-2006 08:37 PM

i know those JD Robb books. it's the girl who is a cop and her man the millionaire entrepreneur. they were quite interesting. i wanted to be strong and fit like her.

i'm with you on the food diary. i tried doing it yday but then i ate some bad things and stopped writing it down LOL

have a neat trip to capetown. i've gotta go tidy. people coming to look at the house soon

jazy 04-24-2006 09:29 PM

hey , ladies.Just came by to say whats up!!! Hope everyone has had a awesome day!!! HAve a great one tommorow to!!

sweet_pea 04-25-2006 12:20 AM

hi what a fantastic sunny afternoon
jazy i'm selling my house - busy day
i had 2 sets of people thru and they both seem pretty interested, plus a chap who came last week is coming back tmrw. 1 person mentioned that they weren't sure they wanted to live at a house #13 - funny world huh

anyway off to a friend's place with the dogs. they are going to play with her dog while we natter. sounds good to me

megsa 04-25-2006 07:38 AM

Sweet - quite a nice day here as well, but rather chilly and a bit windy. Winter seems to have arrived up here on the highveld! Am very glad to see that the cape is lagging a bit behind in that respect! Will be averaging about 25degC instead of 19degC!!

Enjoy the weekend and I'll see y'all next week.

Meg

Wanted you to know that I was thinking about you and to say Good Luck tomorrow!:crossed:

sweet_pea 04-25-2006 08:16 PM

Amazing news!!! the tax investigation is over and i am in the clear. they accepted all my figures and told me about something i could claim but didn't know that i could claim a portion of the expense. hallelujauh (sp) what a happy day

on top of that the sun is shining and i am doing a wee happy dance of joy. i still feel wretchedly tired and am a bit down but this is good news and i plan to milk it and ride it and focus on the good stuff and hope that will override the hormones or whatever the lil devils are that try and drag me down. NO i say i will fight you. how's that. i just hope i can keep fighting when i walk past mcd as i am very partial to their ice creams.

i'm off now to get a salad or something else healthy to eat as my celebratory lunch

wendy - extra special good luck with your court hearing

meg - have a great weekend

sli - how are you getting on with your goals?

sli 04-25-2006 11:56 PM

Sweet pea

Its going very well. Thank you for asking!
If I get up in the morning and lost at least 1 more pound I will have hit my first personal mini goal. :crossed: :crossed: :crossed:
I had set the goal for 179 by the time I went to Arizona. That is one week from today so I may be early. :dancer:
So I will set a small new one if I hit that mark.
I know alot of people say not to set weight goals but I make very small ones that makes me feel better and that I feel like I am accomplishing something waiting for the BIG goal. That seems SO far away.
Congratulations on your taxes!!! That is a REAL reason to be happy!! :cp: :cheer:
I agree with you as far as mcd their mcgriddles are my weekness...Ohhhhh :mcd:

sweet_pea 04-26-2006 01:43 AM

you must have different stuff there - i have never heard of a mcgriddle!!! OMG and i never knew there was a McD symbol here. what a hoot.

congrats on getting close to your first mini goal :D i have been pretty much the same weight for a year. i have to stop mucking around with the same few pounds and start kicking ***!!! it's a challenge though. i find it hard not to use food to comfort myself.

my weight i am having trouble getting under is 80kg which is about 176lb. i keep going 82-84kg and occasionally hit 80kg but i never go under it for more than a day. it's a psychological obstacle i'm sure ;)

sli 04-26-2006 03:57 AM

Mcgriddle are like little pancakes with sausage, egg and cheese....Yummy. Enough food talk.
I was stuck on 188 forever! I changed my eating habits a little and it seemed to kick start my motabilsm (sp)
You could try that and see if it helps any. For comfort I usually take a bath and drink hot tea. Its not as good as comfort food but it helps a little.

sweet_pea 04-26-2006 06:55 AM

i do like hot baths but there is a limit to how many you can take. funny that hot tea thing. i've never taken to drinking tea or coffee. with all my vices it is a miracle LOL

my eating habits need a lot of change but i have a lot of emotional issues to deal with and they tend to get the better of me. i am trying to get them sorted out so i can handle stress and make decisions without using food as a crutch

i wonder sometimes about getting scales in pounds instead of metric - not even sure we have them here??? - so i am not focusing on the dreaded 80kg. i don't know why it is a barrier for me. most of my life i have been a lot smaller than that. for a long time i was around 90kg and got that down and then after that i guess i didn't try hard enough? it does require determination and commitment

sli 04-26-2006 11:05 AM

That is true about the baths especially in the summer, neither one of my fixes are as good..:?:
I was thinking to myself that I am surprised that I don't use food as comfort but then I realized that since I have my other bad habit (smoking) that I tend to stray that way during stress, depression or just because I am hungry.
That is another thing that I am giving up as soon as the weight is gone! My DH wanted me to do both at the same time but I informend him that if he thinks I get mean now try taking away both and see me PMS..:D
I bet your right about the scale issue. Do you know anyone who could send you one?
Oh, I did hit my goal this morning...:carrot:
