I had every intention of walking 4 miles today. I got to the park early and walked a mile before my walking partner showed. 3 miles is the max she can do. But when she showed, she was a mess. She was crying so hard. And of course we sat on a bench and she poured her heart out. Gosh, what a mess. I really would like to meet a couple people with a normal happy marriage. (ya know the kind that we are all suppose to have) My life seems so simple sometimes....

So I was planning on riding my bike but after grocery shopping and cleaning and cooking, I wanted a nap. So afterwards we went swimming. I was so good!!!! I did the breast stroke around 3 times (lagoon pool), then I layed on my back clutching the beach ball and went around 3 times, then I went around six times doing a flutter kick pushing baby around in the boat. My body was screaming, okay enough! But not a drop of sweat in sight! I did pool situps and some leg excersices...I am gonna sleep good. I am gonna try to ride the bike 20 minutes tonight but I won't if I still have rubber band legs. I will do my crunches and call it a night.

Our stock pile of soda is gone. Thank goodness. I can't cheat any more. Chris likes iced tea. So I make that when the sun comes out. The boys like cool aide and I like neither, so water will be my only choice!

I would love to meet up w/ you all. Wonder when we can all get our acts together have time and money and shop till we drop. Which of course would take a long time because we will be in such good shape! ~audri/flower

My old professor/boss called me and asked me to come work for her again. So I will try it out for this semester. 20 hours, 9.50 an hour. It will help out tremendously. Chris will change his availability to nights for mtw. ~audri

Hello friends...
sorry it's been a long time since I've touched base, but we've been going thru some tough times here... details later, but just wanted to ask for prayer. <well, short version... hubby was laid off in May - we've put our home up for sale and just accepted an offer... supposed to close/move end of Sept... but now looks like the worst of it is yet to come.>

He'll be undergoing surgery at Dartmouth this week (time hasn't been determined-will know tomorrow). June 27 he had a slight stroke - the MRI they took at that time it showed an 'area of concern' in the brain about the size of a marble - but as of the one they did yesterday, it's grown into almost tennis ball sz and he's lost almost all his ability to speak/think clearly - it's located they say right in the middle of his speech center of the brain. We are seeing some well-recommended neurosurgeon's tomorrow - would sure appreciate prayer.

Will stay in touch ... sure missed you guys, hope all is going well with everyone.

Itsworthit-you have my blessings, prayers, good thoughts...everything!!! Noone should have to go thru this! I can completely understand, it is not a place I wish anyone to have to go. please email me to vent, ask questions, scream, cry ect... [email protected] Please take care of you. The final outcome is out of your hands, its the time between now and then is what mattters, be it 5 days or 50 years.... Love ya friend-audri

Itsworthit 08-24-2001 04:47 AM

Thanks much, flower! We got home late last night with not-so-good news. The tumor will not be able to be fully removed - will take out the bulk of it, but neurosurgeon said to remove all of it would be too dangerous as it's directly in the speech center - will probably need to undergo radiation/chemo. Said my hubby 'was a very sick little puppy' and it doesn't look good for him - also said 'no job/work' for at least 6 mo's, so we have some serious fianancial issues here to look at - let alone, knowing were we'll be moving to in a month's time. Surgery is scheduled for Sep 4... fully booked until then, but meanwhile he has to return for lots of tests and workups. Thanking God - He led us to one of the country's best neurosurgeons at Dartmouth - found his books on Amazon.com <Henry H Schmidek>.

Thanks again for your prayers and words of encouragement... and your most generous offer to cry on your shoulder! You've all been such good friends and support in my quest for a healthier lifestyle... and now this. Well, will touch base again, soon!

flower 08-28-2001 10:49 AM

Itsworthit-gosh, as I send my good thoughts your way this week, I can't believe it has been 6 years that I was in your shoes. I do hope your friends have been trying to entertain you at the hospital as you wait thru hours of tests, surguries, updates ect.... Not fun at all.

Last week I wrote Cookiemommster and Karpie-I do hope they will come and play w/ us again. How about the rest of you? Where are you? ~audri

mailwhale 08-28-2001 11:51 AM

I've been at the good ole family reunion. Actually, it all went fine this year, no incident, although I think I've been bulking up in prep for my big planned fall melt down! lol!

Oh, but Itsworthit, I was so happy to see that you posted, then so sad to read the news. Ugggg, so tough, life just can deal out those difficult hands. I'm soooooo sorry. You both have my prayers and best wishes. Some difficult days ahead it seems, I wish you much strength, love and faith to get through them.

Oh, Aud, I took my measurements and they weren't as bad as I thought, but that pounds gained thing gags me. Well, the additional inches tell the story too. So frustrating. Another day, another start.... I don't plan to wait until school starts sept 4 but some neighbors here are...I just don't even know what to say anymore???

Itsworthit 08-28-2001 08:45 PM

Thanks everyone for your concern and prayers... we both appreciate it more than you know. We do have much support, but it won't be easy. Tomorrow we go over for a day's tests and again Friday. thank goodness it's summer - no worry about snow/roads. :-)

Btw, I'm in awe of you guys measuring... I'm a long ways from being that brave. have regained too many lbs this past yr, but I'm still much healthier than before, so that's the important part right now. My wish for you all is to stay/keep healthy!
Love ya bunches!

Sandy3830 08-30-2001 11:10 PM

Itsworthit, I'm so sorry to hear about your hubby. I will keep you both in my prayers. You have a rough road ahead of you, hope everything works out for you.

I had a great visit with Foxy and Way2. Way2 was way2chubby when she first joined the boards, she is from Ohio, Foxy is from CA. We stayed at my house in NH, took them sightseeing around the area. They really enjoyed it, Foxy was happy looking at all the green trees and flowers, she lives in the desert so it was a bit different then what she is used to. Way2 enjoyed all the water, she doesn't have that in OH. I also took her to the beach where I do my walking. Hopefully I will be able to see them again.

I have to get myself back on track. Haven't been exercising at all but have been doing pretty good with the food, so that's a good thing.

Take care everyone.
