 Here I am!! :) You bunch of losers, you! LOL don't you just love it that this is the one place where we LOVE to be called losers??? <GGG>

I was a bit of a slacker over the weekend too! I have really been moving my butt lately and things caught up with me. The extra sleep and lying in bed with a book felt good... but I couldn't help think about how often I used to do that, yikes! Don't want to fall into THAT habit again LOL. Got to keep moving!!! :dancer: :jig:

meowee 04-10-2006 02:54 PM

Loser . . . Loser . . . Loser . . . Yes, it does have a nice little ring to it doesn't it? :D

Hope we all have another great "loser" type of day, gang. Just keep moving and shaking your way to victory. :carrot:

Hi everyone. I'm new to this forum, to 3FC actually and I haven't decided what kind of diet program I really want to put my self on again.... I was hoping for some suggestions on what has worked or is working for everyone else. I'm far from young, 59 years oldand have always dieted, since I can remember. For some reason I can't seem to get motivated. Help!

Furthermore, I don't think I know how to use the posting stuff correctly.

susan1502 04-11-2006 04:12 PM

I'd like to hang out with you here......

...as I am a 51 year old woman living and working in Illinois. I joined weightwatchers in January and lost 15 pounds in about 8 weeks. Yeah, a beautiful start, but it is April now, and I haven't lost any more weight. I am pretty unmotivated, sometimes, as I have spent the last 15, or so, years riding the yo-yo diet roller coaster!!!!! I also would like some support because I don't get it from my boyfriend or friends. They think I look just fine-----but at my highest weight of 185 and being only 5' 2" tall---trust me, I was not fine!!! I currently weigh 159---but I do carry a lot of muscle, so people are surprised when I tell them I weigh that much. I really enjoy reading your posts, and I like knowing that I am not alone in my struggles. Just wanted to share a little about me. Sue

Gail C 04-11-2006 04:38 PM

:welcome2: Hi Susan and FOL...I wouldn't like to call you by your sign in name!!!!

For some reason almost all our regular posters have disappeared from this thread. I have not posted lately either...but I keep checking in to see if anyone else has!

I am also a yo-yo dieter for the past oh 30 something years! Now it is a matter of health rather than just to look better, so that should be more of a motivation, right?

I know what you mean about getting motivated...that is really the battle to me...once I'm motivated, I do well. Once I lose the motivation, I'm a goner!!

I couldn't seem to stay motivated this year after I started dieting again in January, so I joined Weight Watchers in March. That has really helped me, because it's more of a commitment than just doing it on my own. Spending that money and weighing in every week is helping. and counting points makes me a lot more aware of how much I'm actually eating.

I've been doing so good, until this past weekend, when I brought a whole birthday cake home that was left over from my mom's birthday open house. At least I've limited myself to one piece yesterday, and one the day before, but I love sweet stuff, especially white cake with white buttercream icing!

But, I'm back on the wagon today, eating veggie soup and fruit, and only have a pound to get back off by Thursday in order to break even!

Stick around, and hopefully all the great ladies we have in our over 50 group will be back on here soon.

meowee 04-11-2006 05:48 PM

Nova Scotia checking in . . . Another nice, sunny and mild day. Wow, have I ever been busy today. No time to even take a look at 3FC until now. Hopefully tomorrow will be a little better.

It seems to be slow all over the boards the last little while, Gail. Personally, I think people are just glad to see the end of the winter and are out shaking off the cabin fever. At least I hope that's what it is. I need my 'support fix' that I get from all the great people on these boards. Anyway, please keep posting.

Here's a great big welcoming  for you Susan. Afraid I'm not a good one to give advice about keeping motivated. I've been doing pretty well in that department since the beginning of this year, but, other than using 3FC as a great support network, I really can't tell you why I've been mostly staying on track. Whatever it is, I'm not going to argue with success. :D All i can hope is that it's contagious and you manage to catch some of it. ;) Just keep putting one foot in front of the other and try not to think about how long the journey is.

Here's a breat big welcoming  for you too, FOL. I know I'm older than you (I'm 63) and you'll have to let me know if I'm fatter too, since you haven't set up a ticker yet. ;) I'm a diabetic and so I follow the CDA (Canadian Diabetic Association) guidelines and then I enter everything into my own little Excel program which turns it all into calories as well as telling me my levels of carb, fat, and protein. You just have to find something that works for you . . . there really is no right or wrong way . . . the bottom line, of course, all boils down to keeping the calories you eat below the calories you burn . . . in other words . . . eat less and move more. :D

Anyway, gang . . . keep moving and shaking and heading in the downward direction. Here's a little dose of :dust: to help us all make it through the night. See you soon.

Been MIA, but now I'm finally well enough to get going again.
First, I had an ankle injury and then I got that nasty bug. With me, "it always pours when it rains" :(

Where is everyone?

Susan and FOL,:welcome:

I've been a yoyo dieter for such a long time as well, but this time I'm determined to lose the weight for good.
Have started exercising again, so that's a good thing.

Have a great day everyone.

meowee 04-12-2006 08:59 AM

Yay, Yorkie, glad to see you back with us and back in shape, too.

Just a quick little drop in to report another sunny day and another pound shipped off to ugly-pound-heaven . . . actually a little bit more but these tickers don't want to measure part pounds (I may have to find one that does). :D

Nothing much else is new so I'd better go get some work done. Have a great day moving and shaking in the right direction, gang. :carrot:

csoar2004 04-12-2006 09:11 AM

room for another?

Hiya! I'm 52, live in the middle of nowhere (aka: sagebrush central) and have been in maintenance (Phase 3 of Fat Flush) for 2+ years. :carrot: Cue the dancing and prancing. :D ;)

Contrary to popular belief, maintenance does NOT mean you get stop watching what you eat! (especially if I want to continue to fit into my itty bitty leather motorcycle pants - heh heh) Gotta tell ya, wearing size 6 for the first time in my adult life has got ice cream beat hands down. :carrot:

Anyhoo, I'm looking for a regular check-in kind of thing. Can I hang out with you?

hyacinth merry 04-12-2006 11:44 AM

I've been a no-show here for awhile...sorry Chickies!!

First my VERY GOOD NEWS: My suspect thyroid nodules were "Hot" and that is good as that means they are functioning. (The non-functioning is more likely to be malignant)

So I have another ultrasound and another radioactive 123 in 6 months to double check the status.

Tomorrow is my first app't with the endocrinologist and I'm curious to hear what he will have to say about all of this, the enlarged thyroid, etc. I haven't resumed my thyroid meds yet so want to hear his suggestions regarding that subject.

I have not ONCE gone off my ATKINS Induction despite all this thyroid wierdness- now since Feb 01 of this year. That I'm really pleased about that :) I'm kinda just sitting at a weight right now, but at least it's not going up.

:carrot: whoo eee,it is Weigh-in-Wednesday and my cabbage soup must have kicked in because I got a 2 lb loss !!!! I'm just soooo excited.

:welcome2: Susan and Fol,know you will just love it here. I'm 59 too and these gals have helped me so much.Everyone is always ready to pat you on the back for the good things and give you a swift kick if that is what it takes to get you back on track.
FOL,for me the best thing that has worked, because I'm not much for joining groups,is to just watch my portions and cut out the real garbage :ink: potato chips, ice cream, pizza.I guess I do have these things once in awhile but not like before, and you know what?I don't miss them.I have also started walking as much as possible,my goal is 60 miles for April and I'm a little short of where I need to be.
Gail: :nono: shame on you for talking about that wonderful sounding cake, but it sounds like you have it under control.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Easter !! Donna

meowee 04-13-2006 10:51 AM

Welcome back, Hy. You have been missed. Glad you got such great news on the medical front. Never once even bending that diet plan is really amazing. Keep it up, girl.

Oh, Donna. Congratulations on the great loss. You've just got to love those low-cal soups.

Well, gang . . . it's another beautiful spring morning in Nova Scotia but it is calling for rain later this afternoon and then all weekend . . . so typical.

Here's an extra helping of :dust: :dust: to give us strength to face this chocolate filled weekend. I've discovered I don't really like the 85% cocoa bar I bought as a treat (the kind of choclate that's supposed to be good for you) so practicing moderation is not proving too difficult . . . I've only had two little squares (less than an ounce) so far (in two days). Now. . . can I stay away from the Cadbury eggs . . . please, I hope, please . . .

Have a great day and keep it moving and shaking in the downward direction, gang. :carrot:

Thank you Meowee for the support!!

Things did get off track in my life with all this medical stuff but isn't that always the way??!! :) I was so hopeful when I first started here and with the Atkins program that I would be nearing my goal weight at this point in time. Of course that didn't happen, BUT I did learn something about willpower and staying committed to a program, through, ahem..thick and thin :D

I'll let you all know how the Endo appointment goes today - sigh...I'm looking forward to it and dreading all at the same time!

Hugs,
Hy

Hi everyone, I've been MIA for awhile too! My darn computer DIED on me and I, computer idiot that I am, had a horrible time getting it going again1 How I have come to rely on this thing! I was tempted to just go buy another one!

:welcome3: to the new people. I think you will find a lot of support here! Lots of good information and always support!

I'm at a total stand still on the weight loss thing! But i'm just going on with my eating right and exercising plan. I guess those last 2-3 lb. are determined to hang around for awhile!

It's such a beautiful day today! I'm heading outside for my walk!!! Any one want to join me?

Make it a wonderful day, Freda

hyacinth merry 04-14-2006 10:38 AM

I liked the endo I saw for the first time yesterday - unfortunately, I have to continue to stay off my thyroid meds for 2 more months in order to be retested (the RI -123)

Sooooo. That's the way it is and as far as my diet program, will just have to accept that. Eventually, it will all work out :^:

Wishing everyone a good weekend and if you celebrate Easter, then a very Happy Easter to you :)

Hugs to all,
Hy

meowee 04-14-2006 03:18 PM

Nova Scotia is dull and raining today and, unfortunately, so is my mood. :( The weather station is saying its going to stay like this for better than a week, except for the day in the middle of it when they are predicting some snow. :( Certainly hope I cheer up before that. :^: Probably will, since I'm never down for long. :D Was reading some quilting books a little earlier today and decided I had to stop because instead of getting inspired I was getting more depressed since I don't have time to work on old 'fun' stuff right now, let alone start anything new.

So I came here . . . this gang always picks me up, so I imagine I'll be feeling better soon, besides I can't eat and type at the same time. Although I'm actually feeling more sleepy than hungry so we won't argue with the small bits of :goodluck:

Have a great one, gang. Keep moving and shaking in the right direction and I'll be seeing you soon. :carrot:

Hello and :wel3fc: to the newbies!

I don't get to this thread too much any more either because I am so busy out there in the challenge threads trying to keep up with those younger chicks LOL.

Good to have everyone here! Just jump right in anywhere!

the slim me 04-15-2006 08:57 AM

Hi Everyone,

Seems like a lot of "BLAHS" going on right now! I think we all just need some bright sunshine to lift our spirits and get us going again!

We had a lovely day yesterday! It was 80 degrees! I dug out my shorts and went for a long walk. But it's not going to last too long. Sunday is supposed to be 56. It will still be warm enough for the kids to be outside and hunt Easter eggs, but wish the 80 day had waited!

I've been using this new product, Jergens natural glow. It adds just a little color to your skin without getting in the sun. Keeps my white legs from shocking everyone!

Happy Easter everyone, Freda

Freda, I've seen that product advertised and thought about trying it myself...how do you like it?

Glad it was nice weather for you yesterday and you were able to get in a walk :)

And :thanks: for the Easter greetings - a Happy Easter to you also!

Happy Easter everybody . . .

I am in better humour but things are definitely not going my way right now. After I was ranting in here a couple of days ago things have been going down hill . . . missed a deadline that's going to cost me some money . . . cut my finger quite badly (now trying to type without using it and that's not easy). . . and then this morning I broke my rule about only getting on the scale once a week because I wanted to see how close I came to my Easter goal. . . was that ever a mistake. The mean old scale- says I gained 4 pounds in 4 days. Now I know it's not true (especially since one of the few things that hasn't gone into the infamous 'handbasket' is my eating regimen) but it's depressing just the same. Just hope it goes away again before my official WWI.

See you all again soon . . . hope the bunny isn't toooo toooo good to anybody. :carrot:

Hugs  to meowee and I hope that things will begin to improve here quickly. It really does seem that when it rains, it pours sometimes!!

Sending healing thoughts for the boo-boo on the finger. And don't let the scale get you too down (I know, I know!!) Just look towards your next weigh-in and if you wish, just pretend this one today didn't even happen ;)

More Hugs,

hyacinth merry 04-17-2006 10:13 AM

Monday after Easter and my weigh-in day: No loss, but no gain, so I'll take it.

I did try a little time on the treadmill yesterday just to see how my injured achilles tendon was coming along. Took it slow and just did 15 mins and it felt fine - :carrot: So I'm committing to two, 15 min session each day. It won't be aerobic, but it will be movement.

Did my first 15 min session this morning - got up extra early just to make sure I completed.

No cheating problems with the holiday and associated "treats" - I stayed on my Atkins. Saturday I made a little cheescake from the Atkins site using Splenda. My first and it was great :-) I really AM trying to do this thing right.

Hope it is a good day for all

Hy

Gail C 04-17-2006 12:12 PM

Good for you Hy for sticking to your plan yesterday, and doing your exercise today...I'd say you are really commited to doing this weight loss thing!

I had a happy surprise today, the scales number was down! I believe I yelled a little with joy; makes all that moderation and not eating desserts yesterday
well worth it. The main thing I indulged in was my mom's sweet potatoes, and at least they had some vitamin and fiber value.

I have moved my weight tracker down 3 pounds since my last Monday morning weigh-in here 2 weeks ago. So far I've lost 18 pounds this year, and now I'm able to wear some of my "church" clothes I had outgrown. I'm still in the extra large size, 18 range though, and wanting to get back into all the 14/16 sizes I have.

I have had so many sizes in my closet at once, from 10's to 22/24's. It's ridiculous...I finally got rid of almost all the 22/24's and all the 10's and almost all the 12's...but who knows, if I stay with weight watchers, maybe I'll have to buy some more 10/12's; it could happen!

Now I can't stretch my imagination enough to wearing size 6 like Freda, so I'll just dream of a lovely size 10!

Where is everyone????? Come back!!!!

the slim me 04-17-2006 01:04 PM

Hi All, Glad to see that we all made it through the Holiday without doing any major damage! And, in spite of the weather being a little colder we hid eggs outside! The kids had a blast finding them. They we're even that interested in the money and candy and trinkets inside them, they just had fun finding them! Taught me a lesson!

Hy, That Jergens lotion is great. I'm not saying you'll look like you went to the tanning booth or spent the day baking in the sun (both of which we shouldn't do anyway) but it does give you a nice little bit of color! And my skin is very pale! Glad to hear that the tendon is on the mend! Take it easy so you don't re-hurt it!

Meow, Oh NO! Hope your finger is feeling better! And I always type with 2 fingers, so what's the problem? You're supposed to use more than that?

Gail, You are doing so well! And a little indulgence isn't bad. Especially if it's something basically healthy, like the sweet potatoes! I baked one for me for Easter dinner and it did a lot to help me the rest of the meal! Very filling and nutritious! Just keep it up and in no time you will be in those smaller clothes! You might want to try what I do. I will only buy clothes up to a certain size. So I do give myself more leway than I probally should, but if I go above that size, tough!!! I just have nothing to wear untill I lose the weight! And you probally wouldn't want to wear a size 6 like me either! I am very short and small boned! You have to remember heighth and bone size!

Take care evryone! I say a quote today that I really liked! Ok, it was on a paper towel but I thought it was really profound!!!

I can't change the direction of the wind, but I can adjust my sails to always reach my destination!

meowee 04-17-2006 04:54 PM

Hi everybody . . . At least the finger has gotten into a smaller size bandage and I can hit keys more accurately now. Unless I can use all the fingers, I make tooooo many mistakes and spend toooooo much time typing backwards. :dizzy:

Life is still too busy . . . this little (?) work-related project is trying to turn into a full-time occupation again . . . plus I've got to get my Income Tax done (in Canada we have to file by April 30 and since I usually have to pay, I tend to leave it until the last minute) . . . no time left for the fun things that make retirement so worthwhile. :^:

Did I mention it is raining and raining and raining and raining and it is supposed to keep on raining and raining and raining and raining for another few days. It is also cold . . . 2 to 3 C (about 35 F). Oh well, if you've got sun and heat in the western parts of the continent, the jet stream will eventually bring it my way, so I'll just try to be patient. Did I mention that it's raining? :(

I was pretty good over Easter . . . no chocolate eggs . . . no scalloped potatoes . . . so hopefully my WWI will show those four pounds were a fluke and they will have left the building again. I refuse to get on the scale before Wednesday.

Well better get back to work . . . hope everybody manages to stay away from any left-over bunny droppings and here's a little :dust: to help us all keep hopping along that downward trail. Have a good evening, gang. See you soon. :carrot:

meowee 04-18-2006 09:26 AM

Good Morning from Atlantic Canada . . . it's still raining and it's still cold, and now we've added 'very windy' into the mix.

Hope you are all having a great day. . . wherever you are. Hope to see you all again soon. :carrot:

meowee 04-19-2006 09:42 AM

Come out, come out, wherever you are . . . I feel silly when I get caught talking to myself like this . . .

The bad news . . . it's still cold, windy and (surprise) it's also RAINING. :(

The good news . . . the WWF (weight-watching-fairy) was kind and she took away the 4 pounds of weird-water-weight along with .2 of a real pound (yep, a whole 2/10 of a pound lost, folks). Hey, I'm happy. :D

Better get a move on (albeit a rather slow one, this constant dampness is bothering the arthritis something fierce). See you soon, gang . . . at least I hope so . . . in the meantime, just keep doing the right stuff and the rewards are sure to follow. :carrot:

hyacinth merry 04-19-2006 01:45 PM

Gosh meowee I didn't mean to abandon you!! I thought I had posted yesterday but guess not!! Brain fog!!! :?:

Not much news from me - I did get one set of thyroid blood test results back this AM and all were OK except for a really high Reverse T3...This thyroid stuff is so freaking complicated - I don't think even the doctors fully understand.

It's pretty here today in the US desert SW - I'm cleaning my REALLY messy house and that's a good thing - lol!!

Hope it's a good day for all

Hi Everyone, It's going to be a rally beautiful, summy 75 degrees here in Michigan today! So i'm going for a long walk before it decides to go away again! Hope all of you are getting some nicer weather. It's making me want to get out and dig in the dirt! I know, it's way too soon! But I can start planning and looking at catalogs. I need some new patio furniture too! Spring is really in the air!

Meow, Glad your finger is a little bette. Great news about the weight loss!!! Hope you get some nicer weather soon! Rain is So dreary!

Hy, I know the thryroid stuff must be pretty confusing! Hope you get it worked out soon!

Make it a good day, Freda

Well . . . if we are being thankful for small mercies . . . it's only cold and drizzling today. According to the Weather Network, the real treat is on the way . . . about 4 cm (1.5") of snow expected tonight. Then Saturday, the sun might actually shine and the temperature might go up to +7C (45F). Wow, a :beach: day (she says with tongue firmly planted in cheek). :D

Have a great day, everybody . . . enjoy your warmth and sunshine . . . I'm soooooo jealous I can almost taste it (but at least that's a taste that isn't fattening). :s:

Keep moving and shaking your way to a better life, gang. :carrot:

I'm BAAAAACK!!! So nice to be back with all of you. Boy have I missed you!! Still do not have my laptop working right. Got a new battery and that did not fix the problem, so have a piece of foil around the power supply plug and that did the trick till I can get it into the shop. I have really been stuggling with my weight. Since starting WW on Jan 1st, TOM has decided to come back for monthly visits, so water weight gain, along with craving gains.:( I lost .7 pounds at my weigh in yesterday. Puts me at 340.0. I'm not changing my ticker since I plan on being at 338 by next week.:D I hate the little bumps in the road, but I'm not giving up. It's a dreary, wet day here in North Dakota.:( Wish the sunny, 75 degree days would come back.:D Anyway, I'll be back later to do personals, right now I'm going to bundle up and go for a walk.

Donna72664 04-20-2006 03:20 PM

Hi girls, the wind has finally slowed down here in Nebraska!!! Heard on the news at noon that in the northwestern part of the state they had wind gusts up to 85mph,and I was complaining about 55 mph gusts!:dizzy: silly me.
My weigh-in this week was not so nice either,I guess I had too many sweet
potatoes or was it the pineapple upside down cake:drool: we had for Easter?
Whatever it was I had to take a 1lb.gain,BUT,I'm not changing my tracker
either,by next week that ugly pound will be banished to ugly weight heaven or wherever they go.

Cheryl120: glad you made it back, don't you just love technology!Did you get any of the snow?It sounded awful.

Meowee:good to hear that your finger is healing, you must have done a real
number on it.

Hy:What on earth is a reverse T3? I have hypothyroidism but never heard
that phrase before. You do wonder sometimes if the doctors know what they
are talking about.

Freda: what kind of patio furniture are you shopping for.Do you like the
metal kind or the wicker? We have metal but it needs painted badly.

I'd better go see if I can make that treadmill work today,it is still windy out and I don't need sand blasted,so will have to walk indoors.Be sooo glad when
it warms up and we can be outside more.
Have a great day and keep up the good work. We'll get there:wave: DONNA

meowee 04-20-2006 03:58 PM

Hi Donna . . .

I call it 'ugly-pound-heaven' although I know some people like to think they are sending the ugly ones in a much warmer direction. I figure they didn't ask to be on me, I invited them; so the least I can do when I tell them to leave is to send them some place nice. :D

More than likely you gained a weird-water-weight pound over Easter rather than a real sweet-potato-pineapple-upside-down-cake pound.

Your word-wrap doesn't look like it's working right. Your sentences seem to be ending in mid-line almost like you pressed 'enter' or something. Strange??? :dizzy:

Donna72664 04-21-2006 12:15 PM

Meowee: Thanks for the hug I needed that. You are right we did invite those
pounds to stick around so sending them someplace nice seems fair.I'm sure you are right about the water weight, guess we will know on Wednesday!

What is up with that word wrap? Looks pretty wierd!!

Have a great weekend. Donna

the slim me 04-21-2006 01:55 PM

Good morning all, It's a lovely day here again! I've already got my walk and my weight training in for the day! Good thing to, I have to work the weekend and won't get a chance to do anything!

Cheryl, so glad to see you back! Hope you get your computer going soon! Mine was down for awhile and I'm finding that I MISS it! Don't worry about the weight, just keep up your exercise program along with the diet! It will all work out! Hope you enjoyed your walk!

Donna, sounds like you were like the rest of us for the holiday! Over ate a little bit! But it's good to see you're getting right back on the wagon! Good for you! That tracker will be right where you want it in no time!

Meow, Sending you some sunshine! Hope you get it soon!

Make it a good day, Freda

Gail C 04-21-2006 03:47 PM

meowee Just wondering if your weather has improved...sure hope so. When the weather is sunny, so is my disposition!

Hi Cheryl glad to see you are back!

Hello to Donna, Freda, Hy and anyone else I might have missed.

Let's talk about food! I just found sunweet apricots at the grocery store in individual 70 calorie packets. Six packets to a bag. This is good for me because I tend to buy things and let them go stale, rot, dry out, etc.

Also Walmart has the Snack-away Mrs Freshley yogurt creme cakes (a twinkie wanna-be), 140 calories, 1.5 grams of fat, and 4 grams of fiber even.
Tastes great with some strawberries and fat free reddi whip, (5 cal. per 2 tablespoons I think)

I like the snack away blueberry muffins also. I love finding good sweet snacks that are also at least semi healthy.

One other thing, I love the Lean Cuisine Panini sandwiches...yum. I like the chicken spinach and the chicken club (that one is hard to find)

How bout you all? Got any delicious healthy foods you have discovered?

Hi gang . . . so far no white stuff has floated down . . . but no sun either and boy is it ever cold and windy. At least the wind has dried up the puddles. :D Hopefully :sunny: is coming to visit over the weekend (I hope the prediction is accurate). However we're supposed to be back to the :rain: again by Tuesday. Even a couple of days of  will be much appreciated.

Nothing much is new around here . . . I'm still busy with that work project and it looks like it will continue into the summer . . . not sure I like that idea but that will teach me for saying "Yes".

Gail . . . sounds like you've been making lots of great little discoveries. I tend to be a bit of a 'home-made' fan because I can use Splenda as a sugar replacement (I'm diabetic). I do like some of the Lean-Cuisine stuff but have found a Canadian brand-name that is a little better (IMHO) and also a little cheaper. Actually I don't buy many pre-packaged dinners either and when I do I always check the nutrition information and pick a kind with an Energy Density of 1.0 (or lower) if possible.

Freda . . . Thanks for the warm thoughts. If that sun does come along tomorrow, I'll definitely know where it came from.

Have a good evening moving and shaking in that great downward direction. :carrot:

Hi Again!

Just reading your post gail! I just got back from the grocery store and was thinking about some of the "diet" things I buy! I love the Lean cuisine panini's too! The southwest ones are my favorites! I like a lot of spice! I do try to buy mostly fresh produce but I always have some bags of frozen vegetables. I like to roast them in the oven and look forward to making them on the grill! I just bought sweet potato fries at Meijers today. I love sweet potatoes and they have a little more nutrition than white. I also found a spray on dressing from Wish Bone. I bought it but haven't used it yet. I use fat free mayo and cool whip. I've been looking for the products that you mentioned but they aren't in this area yet! I'll keep looking! Oh, yes, don't forget the WOW chips and doritoes and baked cheetoes! Good for a treat sometimes! They talked for awhile about coming out with WOW corn chips. I was looking forward to that, but considering my addiction I don't know if it would have been a good thing or not.

How about the rest of you? Any favorite products you use? Freda

Meowee, I was wondering, how long is your summer season, being way up there in Nova Scotia?

It is so beautiful here in Indiana now, with the trees in bloom. My lilac bush is budding out also. I have a handicapped daughter who uses a wheel chair, and she and I, along with my friend and neighbor enjoyed a long walk this evening. Pushing the wheelchair adds a little more exercise when I'm walking!

Meowee, it sounds like you actually cook! I used to, but I'm more into convenience these days. I did fire up the grill this week, and made tilapia (just sprinkled on a little cajun seasoning; and it was delicious), and baked sweet potatoes, which I love.

Freda, I'm going to have to try those sweet potato french fries; do you dip them into marshmallow creme instead of ketchup? :) I've heard about that spray on Wishbone dressing, but have forgotten to look for it. Since I like sweet dressing, I've been adding Equal sweetener to fat free zesty Italian dressing, and I like it that way.

Tonight I had a Klondike low fat ice cream sandwich with some strawberries while watching all those skinny ladies parading around on the Miss USA pageant. Can you tell I like sweet stuff? That's the only way I can do this losing weight thing, by finding desserts I can still enjoy. I've found that if I add fruit it is healthier of course and stretches out my dessert so to speak, so I get more to eat. Because you know all the individual portion diet desserts aren't very big...just a few bites sometimes, but add a few sliced strawberries or half a banana, and you get way more to munch on.

The other day I took a snack to my cousin's house. We sat outside at her country home, we each had half of a large juice apple and a box of cracker jacks. (3 WW points) Surprisingly, that made a good combination.

Since it is late, and I can't eat anymore before bedtime, I will now quit talking about food!

Have a good weekend ladies!

Hi Ladies,

Donna...We didn't get the snow, just rain and wind. Northwest North Dakota down to Rapid City, South Dakota got the white stuff. Rapid City got about 6 feet.:fr: They can have it!!!! I just want the 75 degrees and sunny back like we had a week ago.

Freda...The computer is still not fixed. Have a piece of foil wrapped around the plug that goes into the laptop for the power supply. It goes to the shop Monday, then I will have to use the dinosuar to communicate. RATS!!!

All this food talk is making me hungry! Good thing my fingers are busy flying over the keys typing to you all. Instead of feeding my face:D Gail, my favorite treat/dessert is 1 1/2 cups of sliced strawberries and 1 cup of ww Vanilla yogurt for 2 points. I also like Skinny Cow Mint ice cream sandwich, for 2 points. I also like Lean Cuisine All Meat pizza for 7 points and Pepperoni pizza for 8 points. I also use Progresso soups, most are between 4 and 5 points for the whole can. Salad dressings, I like Newman's Balsamic Light dressing. 2 Tbs is 1 point, other than that, I'm like Linda, I do a lot of cooking from scratch.

Have a good weekend.

Cheryl
