Good evening all,
Yes, Ellen I had two of everything on the buffet,:hungry: :hungry: I didn't say how big the plate was now did I? ;) And yes my computer has our posts really large too. Maybe it is an April's fool day joke on us, hope so, it's a pain to have to keep moving the screen back and forth to read them. Katy, very interesting pictures, thanks for sharing.:thanks: Don't you just love the smell of new wood and new rooms. I do.. I think I might be happy even if we just added on a room or something... as it is, we have redone most of the rooms in our house. We still have to finish the basement. When we bought this house it had 3 bedrooms, then with all the kids we changed other rooms into bedrooms so we had 6 bedrooms, now we are back to 3 upstairs and one in basement. The ones on the main floor have become a tv room, a den and an office. We just change the function of our rooms, but never built an extra one. Well, I didn't ride my bike today,:ebike: I have been bad. Instead my ds#1 and his girlfriend invited us and ds#5 and his fiance out to a movie. We saw Failure to Launch. It was really cute. Lots of laughs. Now dh is watching tv, we get Showtime free this weekend on our satelitte. So I figured I would check in. I could have gone up to ride but I am tired, I will ride an extra couple miles tomorrow. :bike: I also had some popcorn at the movies.. but Ellen I only had two kernels.... :corn: Connie, thanks that is what I've heard from others too. My guestion is did you lose any weight getting cleaned out so good? It's like a fresh start? One of you said you had a haze in the house and thought it was a fire.. reminds me when the kids were younger we used to have a wood furnace. One morning we got up and dh went down to get the fire going while I got the 3 older ones up and ready for school. I heard him rattling the grates and poking around the furnace, then I heard him chopping wood outside. Then I smelled smoke. I knocked on the window and told him it was getting smokey in the house, did he open the draft downstairs. He yells back, oh I think I forgot to close the furnace door, run down and check. The 3 boys were just getting on the bus, so I ran downstairs to check the furnace. Well he left the door open and the fire had caught really well, as I got down the steps I heard a loud crackling and I hadn't even gotten to the furnace room yet. There were flames shooting out of the wall between the furnace room and the room at the bottom of the stairs.:yikes: I ran back upstairs, yelled at dh told him the wall was on fire down there, he ran into the basement, I ran upstairs to get the two little guys up and out of the house. They were 3 and and infant. Grabbed the baby, dragged the poor 3 yr.old down the stairs, threw on his coat and took them outside. Dh had called the fire dept. As I huddled outside with my two little guys and watched flames shoot out my chimney, I thought about how many times I said I hated my house.. at that moment I regreted saying it, because it looked like it may be going up in flames. :hot: The fire dept. got there in very short time. Lots of extra cars with volunteers also showed up and they had it out in no time.. The only real damage besides the chimney and a the basement wall, was smoke and water damage. I was very grateful for the fire dept that day. :cp: Ok I don't have any more stories for now. Think I'll head up to bed. I am cold and tired. Tomorrow I have to get my book work done. All I did today was shop and goof off.. but it felt good. Ok, ladies, have a good night all of you and catch ya all on the flip side. Ginny |

Katy, Same here, Monte's family are all of average height and weight. And then my side is huge, my grandfather was well over 6 foot, size 13 feet, all my uncles are 6 feet, my brothers are all huge. And so are my boys. I have a couple of cousins who have boys that aren't as big so i figure they are taking after the other side of families.
Ginny, girl you have had alot of run ins with the fire dept. I would of been just shocked if I had to deal with when they didn't fill the tank up. When had they last used that truck? Ellen, you crack me up,,,Susan where are you Ellen wants to harrass you! well off to bed I go,,, Don't forget to turn your clocks forward....at least thats what Becky says. |

Good morning ladies,
Ok I forgot to turn my clocks ahead, and this morning I actually slept in till 7:30, all the shopping yesterday wore me out, so I got up figuring I'd go to church for 9:30 mass then I would have the whole day to do my book work. Well, I get out of the shower at 8:15 then it hit me that I didn't turn the clocks ahead, I asked dh to tell me that he turned the clocks ahead and that I had plenty of time but no way... so I blew my hair half dry and slapped on some lipstick grabbed a church envelope and ran out the door. I was late, but at least I got there, and no I didn't speed, well not to much. It's only a 10 min. drive and there was no traffic. It is rather gloomy out today, the wind is quite chilly to. But I won't be going outside anymore today that I know of so I guess it don't matter. Hoping to get my work done, take a ride on my bike, a long ride then a nap sounds good. I always say that but I hardly ever get to have one. Kids are still home so I'll have to make supper for everyone. Thinking goulash, that goes a long way and its fast and easy. So what is everyone else up to today? Ellen your posts are always so pretty, they make my day. And I was just pulling your leg about the 2 kernels.. but I didn't eat very much of the popcorn. Nothing else to write about, I am done with firetruck stories, so I better get a move on and get my work done. Got my second load of laundry going too. Will check in later so somebody had better post. Have a good one, Ginny |
Todays agenda includes working in the basement,,,ya I know Susan. This time we are pulling everything out of the storage/laundry/soon to be bathroom we have some drywall (sheetrock) left over so we are going to slap it up in there. Then put everything back all nice and neat. THEN what would be Brandon's room we plan to pull out all the junk in there, and do the flooring. Everything is covered in drywall dust. So its all about cleaning today...oh ya I had great plans of going to the library and getting that book Ive been wanting to read. Maybe tomorrow. I can't find my glue gun,,,its the only reason I said I would help out down stairs. Need to glue on all the gems and sparklies.
well Ive got to drive Brandon to work... |

HI EVERYONE...Its such a pretty day out, but its really chilly. I have stuff to do inside anyways.I forgot to turn the clocks back to Ginny . Shopping will indeed tire you out,but at least you got to sleep in late  I'm try to put some wind into my sails to get things done today but there seems to be not much more than a gentle breeze  I think I talked to much yesterday, can;t think of a darn thing to say, maybe I will warm up as the day moves on. ANGIE ANGIE ,please come out of the basement, are you making moonshine down there ? cause if you are I would be happy to help you:lol: drywall dust is the worst , I hope you finish soon , and remember that you had some surgery , so don't overdo even if you feel great, it can come back to bite you, but I won't say where , cause I'm a lady  Hope you girls are having a wonderful day so far.I see we are the only girls around so far I sure hope Susan wasn't hitting the Nyquil again:lol: HI TO EVERYONE ELSE I WILL BE BACK LATER, HOPEFULLY AFTER I ACCOMPLISH SOMETHING , BUT YOU KNOW THIS IS A DAY OF REST, AH I CAN'T USE THAT EXCUSE AGAIN , see you later |
Hey girls , look at the smilies in my post don't they look like the little or big dipper  ok I'm going
|
Hi girls....
Sorry I haven't been checking in....I have felt utterly ill this weekend! And today I woke up feeling SO bad. Jhanai has been sick all Spring Break and I'm thinking I finally caught what ever it is that she had........... Ugh...I'm burning up so I'm going to hog up the couch. Hugs to you all:hug: |
Daylight Savings..ugh! We haven't changed time for years.and here we are doing it. And to top it off our power went out this morning and we had to re-re-set the clocks. haha.
Speaking of big boys..My dad, brother and hubby are all right at 6 feet tall. So how did I get a son 6'4" and well over 200 lbs? He was in size 15 shoes in high school. I had to special order dress shoes for him for prom..lol. Now, the rest of the story. My step-son is 6'8" and over 250 lbs. (but he has small feet at size 12) Don't know where either got their size. BBL... |
Hi Ellen
It's raining here too, :rain: am so mixed up on time today..my downstairs is now on the right time, I think, but my upstairs is still off. I'll have to remember that when I go up there later... I got to church late, I felt so harried and rushed.. but finally settled down before it was time to leave.. Angie, you sure do like to spend a lot of time in the basement...and I agree with Ellen, be careful what you are doing.. it's still early after your surgery. If you really like basements that much, you can come and clear mine out.. I have enough of my own junk down there but also two sons are storing their stuff there as well as son's fiance. I cringe when I see them coming in with more boxes cause I know where they are going,,and I really have to clear it out so I an fix up a bedroom down there for son #2 and his family this summer. They are coming from Calif. for the wedding and staying 10 days after to visit.. they will have the new baby, a 2 and 6 yr old. The room down there is huge so thought I'd rent a full and twin bed for them and the boys and I already have a crib for the baby.:bb: I just spent 4 hrs. doing my monthly reports for work.:comp: A perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon, no wonder I go back to work and don't feel like I had a weekend. Well, I did have yesterday. Come May and June I'll be working 7 days a week. Maybe I should try Susan's remedy for a good nights sleep. Nyquill and beer. I don't think I'd care for that, but could use the sleep. I am always tired...since I have been riding my bike:ebike: my blood pressure has been really good, so I guess it's helping something even if I'm not losing anything. Nothing to say, really. Ellen where do you find those cute pictures I would like to punch up my posts sometimes... Ok, check back later, see if Angie came up for air and what Ellen is up to... everyone else seems to be taking the weekend off. Hope they are having fun. Ginny:carrot: |
Marti, sorry you feel sickly, go rest and veg out.. good day for it.
And Sue you do have big guys. My guys (sons) are all 6' none of them are really heavy, they are all under 200. Son #2 is the only one who tends to get heavy, he has to watch it. One of my brothers is a big guy, and all my uncles on my mom's side were tall and big boned, but my dad was a small man. He was only 5'7" and couldn't have weighted more than 170's.My other two brothers took after him. Course my dad was 62 when I was born, so I only remember an old frail man.. but pictures show he never was very big. Only problem is most of my aunts and grandparents were also good size women.. so it must be in my genes...woudn't it be nice if we could just wish ourselves to look like we want? Aw but reality is so cruel. Hubby is home.. so I guess I have to go rattle some pots and pans and get that goulash going. Ginny |
