I thought you did crafts Cristi? Are you sure you don't? You don't miss a holiday or special event with a card in our mailboxes!!! I use to be like that BFC (before children), I even tried once to make my own X-MAs cards but made a mess. I did make these really cute photo frames for my girls school pictures once.
omg- my review!!!! best get |
The very thing that keeps me coming back to this thread is everyone is soooo different yet supportive and non-judgemental. Each jaded lady all seem to have their own issues and differences but the group as a whole loves unconditionally!!!!

I thought my review was at 11 but really is at 3pm. I really wanted to leave early. Now I have to stay and work *argh. I did get my paycheck and spoke with CS who said Mike called Tuesday and had mailed a payment. We shall see!!! Gaby really needs some clothes and bubble bath. She was super whiney this morning. Anyway, I think I will head for an early lunch :) omg- just got off the phone with my christian counselor, he called me "honey".....knowing my luck I will probably fall in love with him. hehehe. |
Hello ladies,
Well, I made it through another week at work. THought I was going to get MOnday off as it looked like some plants were being slow and to small to transplant, so made plans for doing office work and shopping etc. cause this weekend with the kids home is going to be full of planning and stuff for the wedding... well today I find out with all the sunshine we got over the past couple days, those darn plants grew like weeds.. (a joke) and now they need to be transplanted starting Monday.. so that means I have to get my office work (end of month reports, statements, and all that fun stuff) done this weekend some time in between meeting with caterers and printers etc. with the kids. No time for myself anymore. oh wah wah wah.. I am just so tired. Christina, I know what you mean, I ususally wake up between 5 & 6 am then have to get up by 6:30. I always get up several times during the night for potty breaks, or the dog has to go out, or hubby is up or has heartburn or something to wake me up...I had to let him back in bed since the kids are home, all guests rooms are filled till Wed.... so I am just plain tired. And no there is no way for even a mini-vacation until after the 4th of July, but even then to much to do. Thank you all for making me feel like I belong. I guess it's true our being different is why we can all learn from each other and see things from a different perspective. Have any of you ladies, had a colonoscopy? I have to have one. I have a doctors appt. on the 10th of April to set it up. I am thinking of waiting to have it till July.. tell me your experiences. When I came home last night as I was doing payroll and chatting with my son #2 on line, firetrucks kept coming down my road. My neighbor had a fire in a barrel and was burning trash, a spark set some grass on fire, a passing car called it in. A simple shot of water from the hose put it out, but 3 firetrucks showed up along with 3-4 other personnal vehicles of volunteers. They watered down all the grass, even put out his burning barrel.. the funny part was, he was doing all this at the edge of a lake. There was really no danger, and he was right there. A little overreacting. In a way I was glad to see how fast they responded, because if it was serious and crossed the road, my house could have been in danger... but it wasn't.. any way we had a little excitement, and every one was calling me to see what was going on. Well, son #5 just came in wanting supper so I better go fix some. Thanks again for making me feel a part of the group. Ginny |
Hello Ladies!
Popping in for a moment. Lots to read and hard to keep up! I feel bad that some of you feel like you're out of place here. Please don't feel that way! I'm going to chime in on what Angie has already said. We would be one boring group if we were all the same! We are all different individuals and I think that is what makes us a great group!! That is what helps us all "click" and become friends. We are all here to support one another no matter what is going on in our lives. I come here for support and to learn more about the people who I have grown to know as my close friends whether it be about weight loss or not. I don't expect to have the same kind of lifestyle or personality or what have you, as anyone here. It's nice to come here and read about each individual and know that "Wow....I'm not the only one who struggles w/this or who is worried about that" I also enjoy being able to celebrate with you all when something wonderful happens to one of us. And it's always nice to know that if I need someone to talk to about a problem, that I have you all here to just listen and to let me cry it out. You have truly helped me get through a lot of emotional things in the last couple years. So I hope you all know that you're all a part of a wonderful group and that we all love having you here and want you to feel completely comfortable. And also: YES.....you belong here!  . |
Hello ladies,
Angie - no, I'm not ready to move yet, but it shouldn't be too much longer. Did you get to visit with your mom today? Wish I could visit with mine, but she's been gone since 1984. Mindee - YAY for getting the apartment! I don't understand about the milk! Whole milk (red cap) has about 4% milk fat, and 2% has just that - 2%. Maybe your doc meant something else? Ellen - either bunny is fine. Just use both. :) I wish I could join you for a cup of tea. Ginny - what Angie said! When you're ready, tell us what happened to your house, ok? I'd love know. I have been told by my doc that I should get a colonoscopy now that I'm past 50, but I haven't done it yet. I do believe our Katy has braved it. Btw, I may not make it to Portland, but I could sure take the train to Chicago sometime if you'd like to meet for lunch, lol, when you get a little time off. Jules - oh sweetie, I'm so sorry about your DD. What a sympathetic nurse! Hope you can get her back on your insurance. Not sure if that would work or not, but it's sure worth a try. Katy - what are s-people? Special? Spastic? Scary? Short? Sweet? Tee hee!! Susan - omg, there you go with the food porn again! You crack me up - is the counselor someone you'd date? Hey, wait just a doggone minute!! Aren't you getting married in a few weeks?? Cristi - hope you get an offer on your house soon. When the time's right, it will happen, hon. Like Ginny, I often can't go back to sleep once I'm up to potty. It gets worse after menopause. I've learned to just get up and take a nap later if I need one. I love naps. Marti - I so agree with what you've said! The list is endless of what all you girls have helped me through in the past few years. And you've been here to celebrate the good stuff, too. Yikes, I'm sleepy. It started raining about 5:30 AM, so I had to get my clothes out of the closet, since it now leaks in there. What a bummer! Neal brought in the buckets to catch drips. I SO can't wait to get the heck out of this old house!! I haven't been doing very good with the food. The emotional eater in me has taken over. :( See you Next Month, (tomorrow) ladies! |

HI AGAIN EVERYONE HI GINNY.....Please don't feel you need to apologize, how could you possibly know my medical history, I went back to see what I had said that made you feel badly and I realize that I was a little sharp in my response to what you had said to me ,so please accept my apology I've been a little lets say grumpy.:( I did the same thing as you for years I kept all my hurt and anger inside I buried myself in my children and home ,which is fine, but one day they grew up and were living their own lives and I had no where to hide anymore. Like Cristi I viewed taking medication , the same as taking drugs but there is a huge difference .The difference for me was living or dying it was as simple as that. I ,I just wasn't able to do anything else alone. It isn't the answer everyday ,because even with the medication I still have those very bad days , I have tried to go off the medications but it isn't the right time in my life, maybe someday , maybe never. I am so happy to have found friends in everyone here. I remember the first time I butt my nose into their conversations and I am so grateful that they all welcomed me so warmly.I hope you will feel the same way .I know you are busy and tired, but try and find some time and rest for yourself:hug: HI JULES.... I know what you mean about the chocolate vrs the carrot, I just wish the carrot tasted like chocolate and I would eat them all the time  mind you I like carrots , but they just aren't chocolate.I do a lot of that laugh and joke to keep tears away or try anyways.. So sorry to hear that your daughter is having so many problems , its heartbreaking I know. to both of you. Hopefully you can get the insurance all straightened out for her.. HI SUSAN...http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...k97hjck3ko.gif I hope you are still waiting because I brought you treatshttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...lorsfeecup.gifhttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...sfeedonut1.gifhttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...seandchips.gifLets eat ,honey isn't enough nutrition to keep you happy and healthy  I don't want to hear that you don't belong here anymore Missy, if you and I weren't so disfunctional who would we have to amuse each other  PS: MARRIED DID I MISS SOMETHING HI JANE.... Gosh you must be so busy, I know all about the emotional eater, don't worry you will get back on track once all the chaos in your life is finally settled. Moving is very exciting but also very stressful. I think even if I had the chance to move into a brand spanking new house ,even though mine is only 6 years old now, I would honestly think and think and rethink that decision, thats how much I dislike moving. I like to be settled in one place and I am a happy camper, well sometimes that is  I wish we could have a cup of tea http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...sfeecupani.gif to , that would be so nice, who knows maybe someday we willhttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...ci7cqwhxp6.gif HI MARTI... I agree to how boring would it be, Its so nice to think that we are all so different ,yet in so many ways the same, some of us are so far away ,yet here we all find a closeness and warmth in sharing our everday lives, we all have our own trials and tribulations but we have each other to get us through them. I can honestly sayhttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...yFriends7E.gif HI CRISTI.... Sorry about the offer , don't worry one will come. I know its so frusterating and such an intrusion into your life. Like I said it would take a lot for me to move again. It will happen though you will see and before you know it you will be into your new home decorating ,keep your eye on the end of the rainbow. Just think its only 9 months till Christmas:hohoho:  HI KATY... I am happy to hear you had a nice time with you Mom even if you had to eat all that healthy ;) food. HI MINDEE.... CONGRATULATION on getting the apartment, now you can move and get settled to. Hope the boy's are doing better, from Auntie Ellen HI ANGIE..... I already have a box of kleenex after reading all the posts  We are indeed an emotional bunch of girls. I need some carrots http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...chocolate1.gifI meant carrots make me happy honest:D Ok hopefully I got everyone and Hi to anyone I missed, all this talk about food and tea made me want some of both, but its 9pm so tea it is  |
Well said, Marti. I sure enjoy keeping up with everyone here though I feel my life is rather boring. Every now and again something pops up and it's nice to know I can share it here and get some advice and encouragement.
Jane - it was a mammogram, not a colonoscopy. I've been told I'll need those at 50. Oh joy. Hopefully that will be a piece of cake just like the mammogram. That was really hyped up, but turned out to be not such a big deal. Mindee - I was told with both of my kids to get them off the formula at age one and switch to whole milk, then switch to 2% at age 2. Now they both drink 1% because that's just what we have around. My DH won't drink skim, so this was a compromise. FWIW, I've also been told to limit them to 2-3 cups a day. My DD doesn't eat very much and is very picky. Part of that behavior is supported by filling up on milk, so we watch her consumption pretty carefully as we want her to try new foods ( one of these days, anyway) Know you don't have those issues, but thought I'd just share it anyway. My kids are kind of funny. Both are real solid kids, in the 90-95% percent for size, but not fat kids. Neither of them eats very much, so it's amazing to me that their weight stays where it is. My son's best buddy when he was a toddler was a little girl who was literally half his size. At age 3.5, she was 25 lbs, and he was 50 ( yikes!) Both kids were perfectly healthy. Go figure. Angie - aw - I'm jealous! I want a day of pampering. Now that spring has sprung, it's time to get the feet looking purty. For me it will have to wait a month or two. Maybe for my birthday in June. Susan - Hope you are feeling better - we are always a refuge for you here. Well, about that knitting - I do it mostly to manage stress. Half of my house is concrete and studs... painting is a fantasy at this point. And we have to live in it. So instead of stress out about how slow it is going, I knit. Better than eating ;) I know you are going to get that bonus - You love your job and you are good at it. Cristina - hope you get a sale soon - We moved alot when I was growing up and I remember always having to keep the house clean for showings - yuck. I sympathize. May this next house be the ONE! Hi to everyone else. Hope everyone had a good day.....getting ready to lose that hour? I am not looking forward to it as I have to teach Sunday School and we'll all be dragging. BTW - "s-people" stands for S.p.a.r.k.p.e.o.p.l.e. dotcom. 3FC deletes it if I write it the normal way. Guess it used to be a fee diet site, but now it's free. I think it is a good user-friendly way to track food and exercise online. I started tracking again today and met all my goals for the day - yippee! |
Hi Ellen - you posted while I was writing my opus! I liked your bunnies - I think I'll have the chocolate, then compensate by having the carrots. They cancel each other out, right?

Just popping in really quick--today's my DS's 21st birthday and I can't believe it!!!!! We are going out for lunch to eat at the restaurant of his choice with his wonderful girlfriend and of couse DD is coming too. DD talked to a counselor at school and the sleep she got after the meds seem to have helped, but I want her to at least keep going to the counselor. My DS was the one who made bad choices and worried us to death from about 15 to 18 and DD was always a perfect child--followed rules, got good grades had a job from the time she was 15 1/2, kept her room spotless...the list goes on and though I know she will get over the ex, all I seem to do is worry about her. DS continues to amaze us at how far he has come..
Ginny I have a funny fire truck story---I had an old car when I was 17 that apparently had a gas leak that was undetected until the engine started to smoke while I was at a the busiest light in the "square" of the little two light town I grew up in. I turned the corner and parked, opened up my hood and all this smoke was pouring out, my friend Kelly ran into the apartemnt of another friend to get a bucket of water while the mother of a classmate came out of her beauty salon with a fire extingisher but would not let me or anyone use it because she thought that the car was going to blow up. I got into my car and got out our purses, coats and my prized cd's when out came Kelly and the dad of our friend in close succession with water, they threw it on the engine and the smoke stopped, the mother from the beauty salon let the dad then use her fire extingisher and then our friends mom from the apartment was outside with more water just in time for the firetruck with lights blazing to pull up with my brother, my crush, a classmate and one of my dad's friends--to my car which the fire was out.....I'll let your imaginations figure out all the comments I got....(and still get from my friend and my brother) |
Good morning Ladies,
Hope no one gets fooled today, April 1st and all. First of all let me say, Ellen, I love your posts, you always have such cute pictures, where do you find them all.. and today's post, well it made me tear up and laugh. You are such a dear person. This really is a terrific bunch of emotional broads in here, I am glad I found you all. Jules, happy birthday to your DS, is he your youngest? Hope you have a great lunch with him. Sorry your daughter is going thru such a rough time. My oldest DS has social anxiety and we had some bad times when he first left out on his own, but I took him to a councelor and it really helped him, and he was given some meds to help too, also my DS#4 has the lack of sunshine depression, not sure what you call it, but he was in counceling right out of high school. It helped them both, so hopefully your daughter will be ok too. Jules, who called the fire truck on your car. It's silly but isn't it nice that there is so many people out there who come to your aid when you need it. Well, I am going to breakfast with my DS#5's fiance, her mother is having us over for Swedish pancakes, (our favorite) then we are heading out of town to do some wedding shopping. Hope you all have a super day.. Ginny |
Good morning Ginny and all JL's. Looks like it is going to be a pleasant day after a night of severe storms in the state. We were under storm warning and tornado watches, but nothing too fierce materialized.
I agree with the concensus...if we were all alike we would have no reason to come in here and read or interact. It is our differences that make us interesting. Although I feel like I am boring at best, I still enjoy reading about the rest of you. Saga of our house....they got the concrete poured for the footings and the block will be next, if the weather cooperates. By next week it should look like something is going up and I will start my pictures. There is another house being built nearby and I am amazed at how quickly things went after the foundation was in. Hope ours goes that fast! I am going shopping for bed linens today. Need to figure out what I want. Then I am meeting 2 neighbor ladies for lunch at Olive Garden. One is my walking partner...we managed to walk a mile.5 yesterday before the rain and had walked 2.5 miles three times this past week. Not up to our usual daily treks yet, but we have both been doing some indoors. She on the treadmill and I have done the WATP. Not noticing any change since the 3 pounds...but I am trying! Have a good day everyone and I will try to get back here later. |
Ginny funny you should ask about the colonospy, my mom was saying she has to go next week too, plus her mammio. (love my spelling don't you?..lol)
My grandma died of bowel cancer, and my mom is a survivor of breast cancer. From what my mom says, the colonospy is her own version of a nightmare, but she believes shes allergic to the liquid they make her drink. As for your son #4, its called S.A.D. My firetruck store happened last fall, woke up went down stairs,,turned the furnice on,,,it was chilly in the house. Took Skittles out for her morning bathroom break, came back in and it spelt like a gas leak. A funny smell. I woke the kids,,,dragged them outside, and then called the firedept. They were there within 3 minutes,,,I was standing outside,,,muscle shirt and funky blue pj bottoms (puppies on them) hair standing up on end. No bra and it was cold out....lol Anyways it was only dust burning,,,,I guess burnt dust smells like a gas leak. the fireman did mention that years ago is wife did the same. ok I didn't feel like a total idiot that day. Susan, fingers crossed you get some moola from deadbeat dad, can we call him dbd? Put down the donuts! Jules, so DD wasn't sleeping...the lack of sleep has a way of playing some nasty tricks on you,,,as in making everything seem unsurmountable. Lets hope she can get into the habit of getting her rest, that will be half the battle for her to get over this part, not saying she will be forgetting. But the severe feelings she has won't be as bad. Christina, I hated showings,,,they always wanted it when we would be either in the midst of dinner prep or eating. And with Monte going to bed at 7 pm this wasn't an easy thing for us. We ended up eating out alot. When I was in Sylvan with my mom yesterday stopped at my store to pick up my Wedding Day (cookies/tarts/cakes, not sure what you would call them) Jane, hope you get some rest, you will have to keep your clothes out of the closet now right? Rainy season? Mindee both boys were breast fed till 10 months then went onto a enfalac formula at 1, from there goat's milk till they were 2. Then right to 2 %. Both my boys were in the 110% They slowed down at 3 years old, and averaged out. And then for Brandon at 16 zoomed out again 6'2 250 lbs. Hello to Ellen, Katy Sue, and Marti anyplans for the weekend Ladies? Im planning to try and do some painting...Skittles has a fur appointment (get it? Fur,,,not hair..lol) ok Im tired, I got home after 1:30 this morning and was up at 7 to drive Brandon to work. Now Tanner has vocal lessons,,,Im going to try and take a nap, then hang out with Becky. Need to do a library run, I want to read this book called White Indian. check on you all later |
It is a fine how do you do when you wake up and have no clothes to put on because you are fat, fat, fat!!! UGH:fr:
I weighed for the 1st time in weeks and I am back up to 175:bravo: . I hang my head with hostest cup cake shame. *whaaa. So, I thought I would give myself a week to lose 30 pounds. Think I can?? I think I can. If not - I will be pissed off! Ellen - who is disfunctional? Not Moi? lol ......I am not getting married! Ma Jane just wants me out of the house. I was hoping to go to Hawaii this month but with the girls moving in full time next week and that little "Rachel Problem" I thought I better not. Besides, Rocky promised to come in the summer. btw I LOVE your clip art :) HUGS Ang - I have no plans for the weekend. My mother says I should spoil myself. I thought I would buy some Vit. and pay my rent - maybe take Gaby to see Shaggy Dog movie. Who knows - laundry and cleaning is always there too. I drank 2 beers last night and took my dose of NyQuil. That put me to bed real fast. Anyway, the world is my oyster. Ho to everyone and I really need to get busy. How long does it take to learn how to knit Katy?? I noticed out by Garden Home they were advertising kniting at the community center. Where is Cristi? k- adios! |
