  • Oops Jane! Didn't realize when I posted it put it at 50, other wise I would have started a new thread. I try not to post at the end of an old thread. Anyway...if you would like to you can delete my post over there and I will just cut and paste it here.

    Howdy Ladies!

Well, didn't think I would be on the computer today but woke early and did what I needed to do and now I am bored out of my mind. V had to work so won't be home until almost two. Went and got my vehicle washed early not knowing if the car wash would actually work with it being so cold this morning-they tend to freeze up when it gets that cold. But others had already been washing all the gunk off their cars-muddy mess. I didn't realize how bad mine was until I looked at the back!

JANE...funny...my sisters are both grandma's and both were before the age of 40! Their oldest sons are the same age and they had them at a young age. I'm thinking the guy was messing with Josh when he said that, or at least I am hoping. And of course he didn't call me yesterday, the turd! He can call when he wants, just sometimes they are busy and he doesn't. Or he's busy with the guys. How fun to have Mackenzie for a few days, and to decorate for Easter. I so miss that. I did put out a Happy Easter flag and will put out my spring wreath today but that's as far as Easter decorating goes. Not a holiday we celebrate since we have no little ones. V has sleep apnea. I can't remember when he went to the sleep center how many times a night they said he stopped breathing but it was a LOT! A lot of strain on a persons heart to say the least. So good thing that Neal is going to have it checked. V has to sleep with a breathing machine other wise I would be hitting him in the back several times a night like before. It is scary to hear him stop breathing for that length of time.

GINNY...I can only hope that they won't send him to Iraq because of his knee. He started having problems with it in basic. He had hurt it then but never went to the doc for it. Just fell on some rocks while in Hawaii and apparently the rock in his knee caused the infection, I'm assuming anyway. Just driving me crazy no being close enough to be able to get to him if needed. Have a nice visit with your MIL.

ANGIE...I wondered about the commercial when you mentioned the girl with the bottle! Didn't know if she was someone off to the side going crazy with it or if she was part of the commercial! I too hope we get the house...that is another thing driving me crazy. I swear last night I thought I was having a nervous breakdown! Too much going on at one time.

ELLEN...we won't close on the new house until our house is sold. We have a contract, sort of...it's on the contingency of us selling this house. And if someone comes in and they get a better offer it's gone! That was why I was trying not to get excited about it but it's hard. So both houses will possibly close the same time. Unless we can get a fast one and get in the new house sooner. Not sure if that can happen though. Just depends on who buys this house and how they want to proceed. Just a waiting game. And we haven't had any calls this week for viewings. I'm thinking because of the weather and it being spring break. Thought we would have an open house but nope! So hoping next week to get some calls and have an Open House for sure. Another thing that is bad is all the new houses going up. Even though people would have to pay more, and spend money on a lawn, trees, a fence etc. a lot of people would rather go that route. But a lot of people are wanting in this school district so...Anyway, hope you are feeling better today! Oh, I too believe in Angels! I have a couple of things that happened but have only shared it with a few. Some look at me like I am crazy and others share stories they have heard from others that are similar. So I tend not to share. But it happened so...they are all around us believe me! I love the pink BD post to Susan, so pretty! And yes, I too love all your colorful posts!

SUSAN...again, HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Hope you have a fun day! So where is Doug moving that you have to take Rebecca? I meant to ask if you were still going to see Rocky in April, just kept forgetting. Well, hopefully he comes to see you this summer. He is such a sweetie and you are lucky to have him in your life.

MARTI...enjoy your weekend with Jhanai! And glad that you and James had time together.

HIYA JULES...hope you are having a wonderful day and weekend.

Well, that's about all I have for now ladies. Gonna go and vacuum out my car and clean the windows, maybe wipe things down inside. I've got a blanket over my back seat for Ernie since we have to take him and leave when there is a showing. His hair gets everywhere..but then that was before I gave him a haircut. It's so funny because when his hair grows out he is mostly black, with some brown and tan. But when I shave him...he is all tan except for the white under his neck (which is always really white-so pretty) and the black stripe down his back...looks kind of odd. Anyway, he's a cutie, mean, but cute.

Take care ladies and have a great day!
  • Been browsing around here and there and now Jhanai is asking for my attention!! Little booger!

Having a great time with Jhanai. She's growing so fast. She's only 2 inches shorter than me!! And she's only 11. Sheesh!!

    Ok......I better skidaddle.

I'll post individuals later on after the weekend.

    Hugs
  • Hi Cristina!!

My son's friend Jason was just home on a two week leave from Iraq. He called and talked to me but I didn't get to actually see him. He went skiing--he said that it was never was so nice to see snow and feel cold. He gets back for good in August and then DS's other friend Tony goes & his other friends-two brothers have gotten back--one got out and one reenlisted--they set their divorced mom up with their sargeant and now he's their new stepdad. DS did say that Jason is skinny so we have already got one care package together since he said that the food is terrible!!
Picked up some purple columbine plants, ivy in a hanging baskets for the porch, another purple (can you tell I like purple?) plant called brodiaea and a pink rhododendron. We actually have some "wild" rhododendron plants and wild azaleas growing all around us in the woods. I also want to plant a small butterfly garden around a new bird bath. Each week I have $20 set aside in the budget for plants.
As soon as the weather warms up I will work on adding another coat of weather proofing to the decks and paint the trim and shutters to match the new hunter green tin roof we put on just in time for the rain & cold to come. Also bought two adirondack chairs cheap from a coworker--I want to put some weather proofing on them too.
Brought a couple of my overgrown violets home from work to repot. I have the perfect window for them by my desk at work.
Well..gotta go everyone have a good evening!!
  • I just missed you Marti--I am just under 5'6' and my DD was always shorter unless she was wearing heels. My DS pointed out that at 18 & 1/2, she is now taller than me so we measured and sure enough she is now just over 5'6'. She was 5'5' from the age of 12. Go figure!!
  • HI LADIES

How is everyone today. I'm sorry this will be a short post, I had a very busy day, I didn't fall asleep untill 5:am and my darling daughter showed up at eight am with breakfast, and ready to help me clean the gardens and yard. We ate and were out the door by 9 and cleaned raked and bagged leaves till 6pm needless to say I am exhausted. Honestly I didn't feel at all like doing it today , but I wasn't going to turn away this much needed help I was being offered. It wasn't to bad out , the sun was up for a while which was nice but by mid afternoon it turned very cold. So now I am pooped ,actually to pooped to post I am heading for the bath, and climbing into bed .I hope you girls all had a wonderful day.

    HAPPY ANNIVERSARY MARTI & JAMES
  • hello ladies!!

just a quick note to let you all know that I am back home. we had a lot of fun checking out apartments. we will be doing it again one day this coming week as well. we have some definite contenders, but it all comes down to price and square footage.

I will come back and do personals tomorrow, right now I am checking my email and then heading to bed.
  • Good morning ladies,
Looks like everyone had a busy day yesterday.

Ellen, your posts are always so pretty and colorful. And wow you did a lot on little sleep.

Nothing to post here either. Could have slept in today, but my body clock says it's time to get up. So here I am. Will get some paper work done before we head out to see MIL. BIL and wife will be there too, he is a pompous you know what.. shows up once every couple months to see his mommy and thinks that is doing his share in her care. His life is to busy to be bothered. He is retired but goes into work anyway (he owns business). Well we own ours too and we are super busy too, but somethings just need to be made time for... anyway.. today should be interesting.

Hope you all have a super day.

    Ginny
  • Ellen--I raked up the millions of acorns that have dropped all over the yard--my arms are so sore!! We have 32 acres of woods and only cleared a very minimum. It is endless hours of raking leaves too but the fence does provide somewhat of a "leaf" break in the front-the back is not fenced and since the outlet for the dryer blows out that way--raking and keeping the leaves away is always a priority. Hope you're not too sore!! I too believe in angels and could tell you some stories along with many answered prayer stories.

Mindee--my son was just told that the owner of the apartment is selling and the property manager is not sure what will happen. His lease is up in August and he and his girlfriend are thinking of getting a place together (her lease ends in August too)--There is a piece of our property that will be his but he's not ready for that yet. He likes living in town in walking distance of the mall, his friends, several restaurants and his apartment is on the commuter van route where he works which makes life alot easier for him. I hope you find the perfect apartment for you and your family.

With all the influx of phone calls, I am having a hard time keeping up with my other work so I am going in today. Since they changed me to salary I will not get OT but I can't stand so many things needing to be finished and I have to do a month end billing on Thursday and want to be as caught up as possible. Hopefully this week will be easier with less screaming, unreasonable callers.
Hi to Cristi-Cristina, Jane, Marti, Sue, Susan, Angie, Eloise and all else!!
  • MORNING LADIES
It looks like such a pretty day out, I was so exhausted by the time I got to bed, I really enjoyed the working outside, but it was the little sleep I got the night before that wore me out. I only have about a 1/4 acre to look after but the yard is lined at the back and side with very large and beautiful old trees. When they built these houses 6 years ago the whole parcel of land was treed, but they cleared so many away, much to my dismay. I would like to start planting in the back again , with some magestic evergreens. I love it here , watching the squirrels and birds , the sounds are so beautiful.
MORNING JULES...I can only imagine having 34 acres to care for, how much to generally clear each season. There is a lot of work , when there is a lot of trees I am getting somewhat excited now to get into the garden , I am really looking forward to it. I have painting to do outside this year to . I am going to stain the fence and arbours at the front of my house white, and I have a wrap around porch that starts from the side door and wraps all the way across the back of the house , I will be staining to. I have to paint my doors and railings as well. oh my that sounds like I will be busy. I wonder if I will have any time to sit and read in my garden this year I don't know whats on todays agenda but I am sure there is something I could or should be doing but I must say I'm a little slow to day I hope you are having a great day

HI GINNY...Thankyou , I enjoy putting up the pictures and searching for new ones. I could have stayed in bed all day to, but I thought I had better get moving since I had things to get done today. I hope you have a nice visit, and a wonderful day.
HI MINDEE...So glad you had a good time apartment hunting, hopefully you will find the perfect place for your family. I hope you and the boys are doing well

HELLO TO EVERYONE ELSE , I HOPE YOUR HAVING A WONDERFUL SUNDAY
  • thanks ladies for the nice words. we are doing much better. Logan still has an occassional cough, but other then that he is doing much better. he still gets breathing treatments, and his ear is still getting crusty. (I am going to call the pediatrician about his ear tomorrow)
  • Hi Ladies!

Sorry it's been awhile. Lots of things going on here. Most of them "not good". Lots more health problems for DH and myself. I won't bore you with the details. I've been working a lot of overtime also. They wouldn't let us have it for about the last 5 mo. & now there is a push on to get all the dictation caught up for an audit.

DS and his girlfriend got engaged on St. Pat's Day! She is such a sweetie. No date set, maybe next year.

DD is in the process of buying her first house. Went to see it when the building inspector was there. It's an older home and in good shape. Still needs some work done. The first house she looked at was a lot newer & I like it better - but I'm not the one living in it (or paying for it) so I try to keep my mouth shut.

Time to finish laundry & maybe a nap. (HA)

    Connie

  • Hello all,
Thank goodness this weekend is OVER! Sounds like everyone else has been just as busy,,,
Ellen, that is so sweet of DD to come and help you out,,,and I take it she is an early riser...lol
Jules,So did you read that book yet?

Ginny, how did things go with the pompous butt? aka BIL.

Hey Connie, sorry to hear about the health problems...

This past weekend Monte and I primed and painted the whole basement,,,and teh stairs leading up/down. And then painted. We decided to go with the color Cocoa, nice milk choc color....lol My forearms ache....

Also found the sage color I wanted,,,its called relaxation, thought that was a prefect name/color.
Saw a mitre saw at Rona, hinted that mothers day isn't all that far off...lol But also saw a nailer with generator. Will see what I get..cause what ever I don't get Monte gets for father's day...lol
We did up our taxes,,,thank goodness thats over! AND inbetween all that I sewed up 2 turbins and a belt.
well I need to get to bed...night all
  • Good morning ladies,

Angie, you are funny. You sound like quite the handyman or woman to have around. I've asked for a tool a few times to use in my crafts but they all thought I was joking. I hope you get them. I usually buy what I need or want for my dh for father's day then I borrow it.. we have to do what we have to do. Relaxation, good name for the sage green. I am thinking about painting my tv room that color. It would go with the county cork I have in the other rooms, don't you think.

Connie, sorry to hear about your health problems..one day at a time. We are with you in spirit.

Angie, oh yes, the pompous butt.. well he lived up to his name. He and his wife are rather funny. On one hand she is telling us how poor they are, *they own 8 John Deere dealerships* among a few other pokers in the fire, and on the other he is bragging how they have been to France, the Swiss alps etc. It's almost like a comedy act. Yet they visit mom every 3-4 months and they are doing their share. They don't believe how much she is slipping mentally, they see what they want to I guess. They are in denial.

Well, I am off to work. The sun is shining so it will be warm/hot at work. It is suppose to be 52 today. That is outside. With the sun inside it will be in the 80's. It is almost April. About 4 more weeks of planting then I'll be opening up the garden center. That is the part I really enjoy.

I rode 7 miles again last night. Even though the scale isn't moving right now, I feel like my legs are getting stronger and tightening up. So it has to be helping. Marti how is the walking coming?

Have a good one everybody. Catch you tonight.

    Ginny
  • Good morning, ladies,

Cristi - Neal is resisting going to see about his apnea. I've even told him what you said about it hurting his heart. I think he'll go eventually, but I guess I can't drag him by the ear. I DID get him to go for a hearing test again. He wears hearing aids, but needs new ones.

Hello to Marti, Jules, Ellen, Connie and Angie, and anyone else reading this.

I have to hurry. Mackenzie and I have things to do today, lol.

    Have a good one!
