Hey there, I'm back after a few days of being too busy to get on the computer - I don't think that has happened in years!
With my neices wedding on Easter weekend and all the social engagements between now and then it might just turn into a habit, but hopefully one I can break! LOL!
I'm down a total of 5 lbs toward the Easter goal and I'm thinking about changing it from 8 to 10 lbs, but I think I'm due for a "stall" this week. I'll wait to re-evaluate until the end of this week.
Congrats Robsia, Wendy and Carol on your weight loss!!! I hope to join you with a loss on Monday. So far the weekend has gone well, no cheating. I'm eating good stuff like fresh mushrooms, broccoli and fruit.
Well, things aren't looking too great in my search for the Easter goal. I had a bit of a melt-down in the middle of the night. My blood sugar dropped dangerously low and after I had a little nibble to bring it back up, I just kept on eating. Bottom line . . . by 4am I had consumed half of today's calories. Oh well, stuff happens. The rest of the day is going better but it's not going to be one of my lower-calorie days.
Glad the rest of you are doing well. Keep up the good work and we'll talk to you again soon.
Meowee: we all have those days. Don't hang on it - just keep on swimming, swimming, swimming, just keep swimming, swimming on (finding nemo - lol). You have done so well already, don't let this one day get you down.
TO all others - how are you doing? Maybe we should post our favourite diet eating tip to help deal with those snacking or sweet or crunching cravings? I will think of mine and get back to you. Today I had to practice self-talk to get me past the donut shop (Tim Horton's Maple dip - my favourite). Just kepts saying "you don't need this, you are not hungry" and then drove past. Once I was past it I was fine. Out of sight out of mind.
My yesterday definitely finished better than it started. And the week looks OK with today left to go. Of course, tomorrow morning is my official weigh-in and it remains to be seen what Mr. Scale will think of my week.
Nothing too exciting around here. Another sunny and windy day and I can almost smell Spring. But it never pays to get toooooo excited until mid-April in Nova Scotia.
My best diet tip? Learn to love vegetables and make yourself a big pot of "sanity soup" (any broth-based soup with lots and lots of low-calorie/low-carb/free vegetables) to keep in the refrigerator for those moments when you just 'need something'.
Glad things are looking up Meoew....Lost another pound here - but I think mine is still post not eating because I was worried I needed surgery. I will take it though!!!!
Can't get back to the gym though - been a rough week.
Another beautiful sunny day . . . Love it Another ugly pound has left my body this morning . . . love it, too Certainly not the speediest weight loss every known but we all remember how the tortoise finished the race.
I swear that I signed up for this challenge...or maybe was going to but didn't. Anyways, I'd like to join. I like taking babysteps like these because it seems easier to getting to the big goal. Everyone sounds like they are doing great. That's great. Eight by easter. I can do it!
I think it is amazing how our bodies deal with stress - one day it will make me eat like a hog, the next forget to eat altogether. So does that balance verything out??? The sun will come out....tomorrow.....
I have been working to try and get off my usual Monday spike! Does anyone else have that? Where you have a great weekend and then your weight jumps up on Monday morning and it takes a few days to get it back down again? It happens EVERY week and although I know by now that it will go down, it's still annoying to see. Anyway, it finally went this morning, along with 0.2 on top. So I'm only 0.2 away from hitting 30 lbs, which is great!
It was Mother's Day last Sunday here in the UK and we went for a meal at my sister's house. I actually did very well - I was very restrained on the main course but there was home made apple pie with cream for dessert!! But my mum made it and she is diabetic so she makes it with sweetener instead of sugar, which cuts out a fair chunk of the calories. Obviously it's still pretty calorific especially when you drown it in double cream but it was SOO yummy! And even with that, I have still lost this week so I'm pretty chuffed!
