chit chat #169

Hello and WELOME to the Jaded Ladies thread to anyone reading this!

We are a supportive and caring bunch of ladies who share our journey with weight loss, as well as our everyday lives. So feel free to pull up a chair and join us.

tommysgirl18 03-06-2006 12:29 PM

Jane~ welcome back!! I hope little MaKenzie feels better soon.

Evenflo emailed Tommy back about the snap being broken. The lady claims that the warranty doesn't cover the material. So, she suggested that we take it back to the store.

FrouFrou 03-06-2006 12:40 PM

Oops! I was posting away on the other thread Angie as you were starting a new thread! :o Just going to paste my post from there to here.

Good morning chickies...

THANKS ANGIE! I too hope for a quick sale. Just when I was wondering if anyone was ever going to call to see it we've had a showing Friday, Saturday, Sunday and one scheduled for today at 2 p.m. I'm thinking it is this guy that I happened to see drive by yesterday. I just happened to look out the window and saw a green Ford Escape coming up the cul-de-sac...he was driving slow and looking real hard. Then pulled up front and got one of the flyer's and continued to look at the house before driving off slowly. It's funny, because I hardly look out the front because our bedroom is in the front and I'm not in there during the day unless I am folding clothes or cleaning. I was in there cleaning the window seat and saw the neighbor across the street come walking over slowing, looking around to see if anyone could see him. Ummm, duh, LOL! I thought he was going to get a flyer but he just stood there and read it, lol! It was funny because he looked like he was trying to be sneaky. Anyway, it was kind of funny and then right after he walked back over to his house the guy in the Escape came down the street. Anyway...at least today I don't really have any cleaning to do, just vacuum right before I get out of the house. They may not like the house when they see it, but at least it shows good and is clean. You know...when Smallville first came out I watched it every week. I think for the first two or three seasons. Then they switched the time and day like they always seem to do and I haven't seen it since. Like CSI and The O.C.-haven't seen those since they put The O.C. on the same time as CSI and then changed My Name Is Earl to the same time. So...My Name is Earl and The Office won out over the other two.

SUSAN...well, Mike really showed his true self didn't he, finally. I figured it was just a matter of time. From the beginning, I always felt he went after you because he was jealous of you and Rocky and the only way he could get to you is by going after Gaby. I don't think he actually cared, which is sad. Well, maybe one day he will wake up and realize he has two daughters. Glad you went to court with the ex to support her. Yay, for getting tickets to see the Wiggles! Did you get to talk with Rachel again? Be careful about giving in too much, too soon.

MINDEE...I had a double stroller when DS#2 was born, man what a life saver. Of course DD never cared for being in the stroller, she demanded to walk so I ended up pushing the stroller around empty half the time. Of course strollers are different now days.

JANE...glad you guys had a nice time and sorry little Mckenzie got sick. Hope she's feeling better today.

MARTI...hope you are having or had a nice visit with your sis. Can't remember if she was just there for the weekend or longer.

Hi to everyone else

I guess I should get going. Need to get a couple of loads of laundry done and look up a couple of things online. Since I have to leave for about an hour today, I am going to the park and walk...Ernie needs a good walk too. He is loving that he gets to go for so many rides! If you say "wanna go for a ride" to him and he goes nuts! Anyway, have a great day ladies!

FrouFrou 03-06-2006 12:43 PM

MINDEE...I would have just taken it back to where I bought it and exchanged it. It could have been broken during shipping or something. And most store would be glad to exchange it, especially Wal-Mart, Target and even Penneys. They have always been so nice about returns whether I was getting a refund or exchanging something. Anyway, hope yo get another one that's not broke.

Have a good one ladies!

Marti 03-06-2006 02:01 PM

Hi gals,
I don't have much to say, the weekend wasn't like I had planned at all! Not too happy, I've seen my sister for only a couple hours.

Anyway, I'm going to get a cup of coffee, feeling really down.

I'll catch up on everything later.

tommysgirl18 03-06-2006 07:10 PM

Cristi~ We would have exchanged it, BUT all the boxes were all mangled. So, we went to KMart to see what they had. They had one, but we figured that we would look around some more. I think tomorrow we might make it to Target.

da fat n da furious 03-07-2006 12:41 AM

Hey all, got an email from my SIL, it was a continued one from Friday, was my brothers birthday so I had called over and said, once I was up and around I would drop off his gift. Anyways she went on to tell me that our dad is being a total butt head. I don't know you all realize this but my birth father lives 10-15 minutes away from here. I haven't spoken to him in almost 5 years. Refuse to. And as Ive always said to Arden I would never put him in the middle... and just don't want to talk about him when we are hanging out. But this weekend Arden really got a taste of how horrible he is,,,he went over to thank him for his birthday gift which he had shoved into the mail box at their house. It was a gift Cert and snide remark about Arden being way too busy to come over and get it so he made it easier for him. Well Arden went over and was told to leave and never return. hmmmm serious butt head. Out of 4 kids,,,we have a step mother who has a son same age as Arden. And all 4 of us have nothing to do with them. Our sister Ruby was cut from the wil about 8 years ago, Neil 7 years ago, and me 5 years ago. I guess the SPCA will be getting all their junk!...lol I shoudln't make a joke of it, cause I know my brother is hurt.
Thought about writing a long letter and really letting loose on how I think his behaviour is abusive,,,and that he needs to seek help for his mental issues. Possibly go on to say in reality he has cut every family member out...and he will die an angry old man. That the neighbours will have to call authorities on the stench days after hes dead....(ok thats over the top...lol,,,but oh so true) I will probably let this alone though.

Im heading to bed,,,feeling sore today...going to need a pain reliever, which is so weird for me. The whole week I took nothing and now I am?
night

Jane 03-07-2006 11:10 AM

Hiya ladies,

Angie - Makenzie is a little better. She has mainly cold symptoms now - fever, runny nose, cough, etc. Sorry that your dad is being a butthead. You'd think he'd do the math and figure out that HE is the problem since none of the kids want to be around him anymore! Hope you're pain-free today, Ange.

Marti - So sorry the visit with your sister didn't go as planned. I'm guessing she used the time to do other stuff than be with you? Hey, I'll be your sister, ok?

Cristi - hope you get an offer on your house soon, chicka! I'm just now getting around to answering your ZOO question... I do like zoos, but since my visit to Portland, if I go, will be short, I'd rather spend the time doing something that is special to Portland. I don't like to be gone from home long. If you've noticed, I never go on long vacations.

Mindee - thanks. Hope you get the snap situation taken care of.

I've got a mountain of laundry going. And I've been cleaning. Stocked the fridge yesterday with lots of fresh veggies and some fruit. I'm back to counting WW points, and feel good about that.

See you later! :)

Mom2Gaby 03-07-2006 11:30 AM

Just a word on zoos Jane...

Portland Zoo is famous for the elephants. It is a very beautiful place and special to Portland.

(((Marti)))) hope you are feeling better :)

I better go. Tons to do. Ho to everyone!

FrouFrou 03-07-2006 01:40 PM

Hello ladies...

SUSAN...I bet the Portland Zoo is fabulous! I always figure the Zoo's are a favorite/special place and a highlight of any big city, which is another reason I make a point of seeing them. Plus...I love the animals, reminds me of home! JK. well, maybe not!

MARTI...I too am sorry your visit with your sis didn't go as planned.

ANGIE...sorry your dad is a butt head. It seems like people like that would think about their actions and what it does to others. But then there are some people who just don't care and never will. Hopefully, he will wake up before it is too late. Hope you have a better day today and the pain pill helped ya. Remember to take it easy girly.

JANE...don't want to repeat what I wrote to Susan about the zoo. Glad to hear Makenzie is feeling better and you have your fridge stocked with the good stuff!

MINDEE...I am always leery of buying something in a crushed box too! Do you guys have a KidRUs where you live? We have one in the ToysRUs and they have lots of baby stuff.

Well, our 2-3 appointment yesterday cancelled as I was walking out the door to leave. Okay, first...you would think before they make an appointment that they would make sure they could get off of work first. Second...they could have called earlier. I go through this routine an hour before they are to arrive that is a pain in the a$$ to have this house look good for prospective buyers and I really hate that I work my tail off so the house shows well. Then I have to gather a bunch of stuff to take the dog. And for them to call as I am getting ready to walk out the door is nonsense. Of course I know people do this all the time, as the realtor said but still...they said they will have to reschedule which for some reason I doubt. The funny thing...our realtor mentioned that the realtor that called him to make the appointment is the realtor that had a client that put in an offer on the house we have a pending contract on. Apparently, it wasn't a good offer because we haven't heard anything about it-no news is good news. :crossed: Oh, the stress. I think the stress level of selling/buying is horrid! Anyway, I am sitting in my jammies today and being lazy. Soon as I get off this I am headed to make my bed and take a shower. Also, get a load of laundry done. Glad I got my walk in already. I get so lazy with that sometimes. Wish I could get motivated again and get back on the weight loss wagon. Was thinking about going to a TOPS meeting and see what that is all about. I see the sign in front of the church around the corner all the time. Also, I've heard that most of them are always old people, which isn't a big deal. The good thing is I could walk to the meetings-kill two birds with one stone! I've been so stressed since Josh left for Hawaii for some reason and then to top it off the house and I have been stress eating. I never used to do that, what happened?! Anyway...

Hi to everyone else  Take care ladies and have a great day!

da fat n da furious 03-07-2006 02:24 PM

Hey all,
slept in big time this morning,,,took one of those percocets,,and in knocks me out...I don't like them cause then I have the weirdest dreams...lol

Cristi, what a great idea,,,about walking over to TOPS meetings. About emotional eating you are in the midst of 2 very stressful issues, and the good thing is you know you are emotional eating,,,and are taking action TOPS and walking. Don't be too hard on yourself.

Jane, so glad lil Makenzie just has a cold,,,with the fever thought she had an effection too.

I have to take Brandon to our family Dr. He is in agony with his feet, there is no way he can continue with this. He sees the specialist on Monday but till then,,,and its not like the specialist can wave his magic wand and Brandon will be pain free, so thought lets get ahead of the pain for a bit. (like I can talk..lol)
anyways should get him up and we can hopefully not have to wait too long...
later

Mom2Gaby 03-07-2006 02:40 PM

How are you feeling Angie? How much time before you get to go back to work?? Still recouping?

I didn't mean Ho to everyone, I meant Hi......honest - haha

I better go. Just working on the Rachel thing and court issue with Mike. Same ol same ol.......

I went to Trader Joes yesterday and bought these yummy sesame pretzels. Soooooo good. I watched Grizzley Man again last night and might take Walk the Line home. The residents watched it over the weekend.

Best on your house Cristi!! Major stress in life for sure. Take it easy!

((HUGS)) to Mackenzie, hope she feels better.

k - starving!

FrouFrou 03-07-2006 02:41 PM

ANGIE...(((((HUGS))))) to Brandon. I hope they get to the root of his feet problems and fix it once and for all. I feel for him, it's gotta be hard. Glad you got to sleep in. You know, I try not to be so hard on myself but...there's alway a but. I should have had this weight off a long time ago. I've decided and hope this will help...instead of doing 20 pound goals making it 10 pound goals, my signature reflects that now so maybe that will help in making me feel like I have accomplished something. So...since I was goin gto give myself a treat after each goal I think I owe myself one. Now to figure out what. Still thinking about that charm for my bracelet or possibly a pedicure. We'll see. Hope you and Brandon get in and out of the docs real quick.

SUSAN...forgot to ask about Rachel...have your heard from her? How's she doing? How's Rebecca and lil Miss Gaby doing also?

I better get going. Need to jump in the shower. Oh, I had to take a break for a few minutes...heard this big thud and looked out the window to see that the top of the swing had come loose and was flying in the wind. OMG! This wind is horrible today! I went out to put the side back on but decided to just take it off so the wind won't tear it up again. I just fixed the slit in the top of it and it ripped again! Not sure if we can find a replacement for it. But anyway...I was trying to hold onto that thing while piling the patio chairs onto of one another because they were in turned over in the yard. Then pushed the table and umbrella up against the house. Man, I felt like I was going to take flight at any moment. That topper was like a big parachute and it was wanting to fly! Had one heck of a fight getting it in the house but finally did. Geez, louise! Put it in the garage for now. We are supposed to get some storms later. :crossed: Did get a little bit of rain early Saturday morning, but not enough to even count. So hoping we do get some tonight and tomorrow. Who cares if I get wet tomorrow! We NEED it! Okay, I'm outta here. Have a good one ladies!

Mom2Gaby 03-07-2006 02:52 PM

Thanks for asking Cristi :) I spoke with Rach this morning. She didn't go to school , had a stuffy nose. Told her case manager that she didn't want to do family counseling and was told if she didn't she had to leave the youth house.
Whatever it is called.......so, she agreed to do that. She can only stay til Friday. I go after work for a meeting.
Beck is fine, crabby this moring.
Gaby is a doll. She is so funny. She handed me her video this morning to return and when I got in the car she started crying saying she wanted the video *grrrrrrrr. I go "you handed it to me and I asked you if you wanted it and you sad no!"
I talk to her like an adult. lol.........
better get ......

Dahlia 03-07-2006 03:28 PM

Hello ladies,
I have been reading your chitchat for several days now, and am trying to get you all straight, it will take some time. It appears that you all have a nice tight little group going here, and I don't want to butt in, but I used to chat on this forum a couple years ago and I made lots of nice friends then things got crazy and I lost all contact. Would be nice to make some new friends again.

I do have a few questions. What kind of surgery did, I think it's Angie, have? and what is wrong with Brandon's feet? He is just a little guy isn't he? Christi I can feel for you with the house stress, I haven't moved but I had inherited my mom's house when she died several years ago and after a couple years had to sell it... I actually sold it twice with much to do inbetween,, so I can relate to all the stress.

My son Josh is getting married this Aug. and I have decided this is the time I am going to lose my excess weight. I bought a encumbant bike and am riding it every other day.. today I worked till 1, then came home, had a light lunch and rode 6.5 miles. I really have to push myself to do this. So if you ladies have any little tricks or incentives please share them with me. May I ask how each of you are doing in regards to losing weight? I feel like I am doomed to be what I am.. even though I keep trying to get rid of it, it hangs on for dear life.

Ok well, I'll see what you gals think, if it's ok for me to join your chat or whatever.

Ginny

RosieKate 03-07-2006 05:00 PM

Welcome Ginny! I'm glad you are here - the more the merrier! The bike sounds like a good form of exercise....I have a stepper that I use if I can't get out of the house.

Cristi - go to tops.org - I belonged to a TOPS group for several years and was a board member twice. They can vary widely from group to group and some indeed are more social and less about weight loss. I belonged to two different groups that were very focused and they helped me alot. TOPS is way cheaper than other programs and they are a non-profit, so they aren't constantly trying to sell you something. They can be a bit too competitive -and that was one of the things I didn't like. The biggest thing that helped me was showing up every week for a weigh in and having to say "up x" or "down x" or "turtle" - VERY motivating! TOPS has a policy of letting vistiors visit any group once without joining - so if there are a few different groups in your area you can check them all out and see if one suits you best.

Susan
- hope the meeting with Rach goes well. Did you make it to Dove's open house? I did put Leigh on Small Friend's wait list, but really don't want to make a decision about changing schools until I have a chance to get this one out of my system for a bit. It's alot of work and if I bail now I think it would be because I am tired. I want the decision to be about what's best for Leigh.

Angie - hope Brandon's foot issue gets resolved soon - is this related to his surgery? Does that mean it didn't work? Poor guy. I really hope he feels better soon. Hope you do too!

Jane
- glad Mackenzie is feeling better. I did remember a hotel and I posted about it on the get-together thread. We do have a nice zoo, but I go there all the time as we have a membership and my daughter loves animals. I could stand to go somewhere else for a change :dizzy: I really am up for whatever anyone else wants to do ( zoo included)- I'm just excited that I am going to get to meet some of y'all!

Marti - sorry about the sis....hope you are feeling better about it. When my SIL comes into town we go thru similar things. Never really get to see much of her because she wants to do a lot of things in a very short period of time.

As mentioned, I checked out a few preschools -we are thinking about making a change, but need to be in a more clear-headed spot, I guess. Our current school is in high gear getting ready for the big auction fundraiser. This weekend I am putting in all Saturday working at a parenting conference, which is part of the job I have to do for this school. I know if I were handed a spot in a school that was not a parent-run school right now I would probably jump at it just because I am fried. I do really want Leigh to have a good year.... and I know it will all work out.

Hope you are all having a good day!

Jane 03-07-2006 07:43 PM

:welcome: BACK Ginny!!!! I remember you and am glad to see you again.

eloisecat 03-07-2006 10:49 PM

Hi all...just got back from a 2-day seminar in LA. Stayed at a hotel...managed food pretty well, but actually got up early both mornings and went down to the exercise room. I even worked out, both mornings! Yay. I am feeling very motivated...I want my 10%! Hope all have a good week.

tommysgirl18 03-08-2006 01:01 AM

Cristi~ We have a Toys 'R' us about an hour south of us. I am hoping to get Tommy motivated to go shopping for a new stroller on Wednesday. (he said that we would go on Tuesday, but that didn't happen)

nothing really new on this end....just same stuff different day. time to head to bed though.

da fat n da furious 03-08-2006 01:28 AM

Oh Cristi,,,I remember once we had a horrible wind storm,,,things were flying all over the place...it was early moring and I was woken with what sounded like someone in the house...Monte was living here and we were still in Sylvan,,,there I am no glasses (blind) and armed with a hair brush! I called Monte bawling so scared. I laugh now but at that time I was totally freaked.

Katy I hope you a good preschool for Leigh, I know how important it is. Brandon had an awesome preschool, but they changed districts by the time Tanner went and had a less then good. I was so stressed,,,Tanner would cry the whole time. I am just glad that is over.

Ginny, my son Brandon is actually now considered an adult,,,18 yrs old. He had surgery winter of 2004, a bone taken from his hip and pinned into his foot. From what they say, he grew too fast too much (went from a size 9 to 13 in a year) WE thought the surgery was a success, but now Im thinking it could of been the cortisone talking...or it has worked but he only had one foot done, and with it hurting so much he is compicating and using his surgery foot causeing it to be over worked.
He was given not 1 but two types of pain relievers T3s and another that is also an antiflamitory...
I on the other hand had surgery almost 2 weeks ago, hystercetomy. I over did it yesterday with some chores and was in alot of pain,,,today we sat at the Dr. office for 3 hours. Then went to the pharmacy...I was in pain,,,ame home took some motrin and crashed. Will take them dream inducing pain releivers...lol
Nancy that is fantastic that you are so motivated...keep it up!

Susan,,, oh joy being mother of three girls.... Its ok I know you didn't mean to call us a ho...or where you speaking in pirate? lol

Do you guys get the tv show Sons and Daughters? Its so sick its hilarious,,,a bit like My name is Earl...
Well I don't know how it came about but Tanner just imformed me that Ive been watching season 1 of Smallvillenot season 2,,,(will it ever end?) now Im just watching cause I feel this need to finish what I started even if it kills me...lol

well off to bed I go,,,night all

Jane 03-08-2006 08:37 AM

Good morning, ladies,

Cristi - so sorry about the viewing cancellation! I remember when we sold out house in town, I had to take my dogs and leave, too. It was stressful to try and keep the house spotless. Hopefully your house will sell soon. Btw, I think you should FOR SURE reward yourself now for what you've accomplished!

Nancy - way to go, exercising while out of town. I hope you make your 10% soon.

Angie - glad Tanner got the meds, but is he scheduled for surgery on the other foot soon? We watched Sons and Daughters last night, and it was a hoot! Very "out-there", lol. I think some of it is ad-libbed, right? Please take it easy today, ok?

Mindee - hope you get a new stroller soon! How's the Self challenge going?

Katy - ah, it's hard to know what to do, huh? How many weeks are left in this semester? Maybe you could make it through, then start her in a new place next fall. Just a thought.

Ginny - my son is getting married in July, if not before. His fiancé's father has terminal cancer, so they're thinking of moving the date up. Actually, I thought they'd already been married by now, but who knows what kids will do? I told them to just let me know when, where, and what I should wear, lol.

Susan - my girls were 6 years apart and once I made it through with Mary, then Katie was facing the same problems. At least you'll be prepared for Gaby's adventures.

Katiecat and Luckycharm- come out, come out, wherever you are!! :)

Well, our house will be ready before long, and I'm excited about that. I don't like to think about moving everything, but at least there's no pressure to hurry. We got bids to demolish this house. Both companies said $2500. to tear it down, move the rubble to a spot in the fields and burn it. Or $7000. to tear it down and haul it off. Yikes! :yikes: Something tells me we'll be going with the move-and-burn option.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Jane 03-08-2006 08:43 AM

Wanted to share this photo of DGD Makenzie J..... she got her face painted at Downtown Disney, lol.

Dahlia 03-08-2006 08:51 AM

:carrot: Good morning all,
Angie thank you for the headsup, now I know what you are talking about. Sorry to hear about your son Brandon's foot. I have no arches and my feet hurt a lot, so I can imagine how painful his feet must be. And when your feet hurt it makes you all out of sorts.. good luck to him.. will they do surgery on the other one now?

You are really doing well being up and around so quickly after a hysterectomy. I had mine in 1999, I was in the hospital for 5 days then after I was home for about a week, my whole stomache turned black and blue and I had a temp of 102, comes to find out, she didn't catch a bleeder and I had been bleeding inside for a bit and got an infection. So at 2 weeks after surgery I was still tied to the bed, and the pain was terrible. Then they gave me pain pills that made me sick... oooh misery... but I made it. Tough old bird as my hubby says. Anyway, don't over do....you need this time to recoup and you don't want to end up back in the hospital or tied to your bed.

Mindee, your son Brandon was born on the very same day as my granddaughter Jasmine. Isn't that funny.

Well, doing some paper work here so best get back at it. Just wanted to say good morning to you all. It will take me a bit to get into the swing of things.

Jane, glad you remember me. It is sort of like coming home again, to talk to a bunch of women who know what I am and where I am in life.

Ginny

FrouFrou 03-08-2006 04:06 PM

Hi Ladies...

Ugh, what a day! I am so tired...couldn't go to sleep last night. Finally dozed off at about 2:30 and woke up every hour on the hour after that. When I finally went to sleep it was time to get up! :yikes: So now I am draggin' and in a crappy mood. Did manage to get to Wal-Mart and do the grocery shopping, ugh! Was not in the mood for that at all and the parking lot is still a mess and blocked off. Then had to sit here and wait for the guy to come and take a look at the dryer. Why can't they give you a time instead of saying we can be there between 1 and 5? Anyone, he left a few minutes ago and seemed so bothered when I answered the door. Maybe he had a sleepless night too, lol! Anyway...

HI and :welcome3: Ginny! Sorry, don't remember you but glad to have ya back!

JANE...yeah, I definitely would go with the demolish and burn. What a difference in the price, eh? We are goin got have an Open House this weekend. The realtor wanted to do Saturday and Sunday which would have been fine but he said on Sat. they like to do 12-4. I can't do that...I have no where to go for four hours with a dog that does not like anyone other than us. So, he's going to see about doing it for 2 hours on Sat. Sunday they always do 2-4 and that is no problemo. I can go the the park where I walked last year. Takes an hour to get there and back and would be nothing to spend an hour there walking. The picture of Makenzie is adorable. Bet she had a fantastic time at DW.

ANGIE...bet that was a funny look for you though...armed with a brush! I've had some instances like that. DH#1 worked a LOT and I was so jumpy when I was pregnant for some reason. Had the living daylights scared out of me a few times. But...I always had to confront whatever it was and see what the noise was. Glad I never called the police because it always turned out to be nothing. It was when we bought our first house and I wasn't used to all the noises it made. The water heater was in the kitchen close to the living room. At least I hope it was! Found out later we had a prowler in the neighborhood a couple of times. I wanted to watch Sons & Daughters because it looks so funny but it was on the same time as Scrubs and I have come to love that show.

SUSAN...eventually Rachel will be through with her phase. I always look at it like that. I think every kid has a phase they go through. Although, it drives us moms crazy  at the time. Hope she doesn't get any worse. Although, having a stuffy nose is bad enough. I can't stand it when I can't breath. Hope the meeting yesterday went well. I think I am having a Rebecca day today! :) And lil Miss Gaby...I love them when they are that age. Some little ones try to be so grown up and it's so cute! Can't wait to see her in person.

KATY...:thanks: for the link to TOPS! Already went there and found out the time for the meeting in our area. They do it on Tuesday so I missed that yesterday but will go check it out next Tuesday.

Hi to everyone else

Anyway, probably should get off this thing. Been on here since 1 but had to take a break and let the dog out twice and then the dryer man came and then I had two phone calls, jeez...what a day. I am definitely ready for a nap! Take care ladies and have a good day.

Hello everyone!

I'll do individuals next time since I've fallen behind! Hope all is well you and your families.

Today I'm going to talk some girls into dragging their butts into the gym.:ebike: I'm going alone if they don't want to come.

I want to get myself into better shape before the summer hits. I will be doing lots of walking:running: in San Fran, and I want to be able to do it w/out running out of breath after walking one block! I'm so looking forward to the trip!!

So my goal is to really concentrate on my exercising and eating habits. I've strayed too long and it's really time to do something about it.

I'm an emotional eater. And it goes both ways. I either eat and eat and eat. Or I just don't eat at all. Both are bad.:nono: So I'm going to try and fix that.

I had started a food journal:write: and then put that aside.......now to bring it back (if I can find it!) and really get serious.:coach:

So that is my goal. Get stronger both physically and emotionally and to eat much better.

Hugs to you all!

On going saga with Rach and I am at my wits end. She did come by with her father today. She stayed home and went to the doctors.....she was sweet and acted back to normal. Bracing myself for her next angry telephone call. She only has til Sunday before she HAS to come home or HAS to find another place to live.

That is all. Gaby is the sun:flow2: :bb: shine of my life. Cute sayings.......when she is in the tub and I tell her it is time to get out she says "2 more minutes" and after another 5 minutes I say "it is time to get out of the tub she says "2 more minutes"......
another cute Gabism is she says "thanks mom, you're the best".....lol

awwww, k........feeling sooooo full on pretzels.....adios!

Jane,
McKenzie is sure a cutie. Wow you are getting a new home, how exciting. That is my dream to get a new house. We bought a fixer upper back in 1974 and have been fixing it up ever since. Some rooms we have done several times. I am still dreaming of a new house. I can't imagine having this one taken down and hauled off to be burned though. That would be tough. My life has been in this house. But I guess you have to say goodbye to the past and move on.. so good for you.. also sorry to hear about your son's future father in law. That is really sad. Aren't you a part of the wedding? My future daughter in law and I are always discussing the plans etc., it's a real family gathering. We were an active part in our other two sons' weddings too.

Well, I am about to call it a day and go upstairs and veg out with Ray Barone. I get such a kick out of the Everybody loves Raymond show. I had today off so I finished a fleece blanket I was making for my new grandchild who should be making an appearance in about 2-3 weeks. This is the first one that we don't know what it will be, so we are all excited to find out..They already have 2 sons, so I'm hoping for a girl...then I will have 3 of each for grandchildren.

Ok, well I am trying to get each of you placed in my mind's eye so I can relate to you as you post. It will take time, so be patient with me if I use the wrong name once in a while.

Good night all, hope we all get a good night's sleep. I've had to go to the guestroom several nights this week already. Hubby has a cold and has been snoring up a storm. :sssh:

Susan, I love those days...I miss that the most, Brandon was the one to do the most talking...chatter box from the get go. Where as Tanner didn't talk till he was 3. We have Brandon on tape and I just get so sentimental watching it.

Jane, Makenzie is just down right adorable! I am very envious for Mary...
Well how much longer before you move? Id say do the move and burn,,,that is just rediculous in price difference.

Marti,,,good for you,,,working out will make you feel so much better.

Cristi, same here,,,we did an open house and it almost killed us cause like Earnie Skittles is not a good people dog,,,hates everyone but us. And I spent 4 hours trying to keep her occupied.
As for cancellations,,,well it has happened a couple of times. Just annoying.

Ginny, it would be exciting to get a lil girl...do you know if this is their last baby?
As for the surgery,,,I was so mentally ready that felt confident throughout. Was only in the hospital for 2 days. Ive had a couple of days of over doing it...but spent today relaxing,,,finished my Smallville season 1...onto season 2.

Monte took me for a drive,,,went and sat and had a coffee,,,like a date. It was great, just the two of us.
Brandon felt so much better today. He has taken his pills on schedule and acted human today. Even gave Miss Skittles a bath, which was hilarous watching. Big 6'2 grown man wrestling with a 12 lb dog...It was worth the pain of laughing that hard. he came out just as wet as her...lol
One of my friend's play is on stage tomorrow for a one act theatre compitetion. Im so excited for him, and helped with his props so I have been invited to watch which Im so looking forward to.
anyways want to go watch AI
later

Well. it is done! We signed to have our house built. Now the rain has to stop so we can remove some trees in the next two weeks. Once they start it will take 5 months or less. Then I will be in the same place as Cristi, trying to sell our present house. We've been here since 1978, so there will be some memories left behind for sure.

See you all tomorrow......

tommysgirl18 03-09-2006 02:56 AM

Well, we got the double stroller part taken care of. We went to Target to get the one that was on sale. The Graco duo glider tandem stroller, was sold out and I grabbed a thing for a rain check. I walked a little further over, and saw the Eddie Baur tandem stroller. Then even more to my surprise I looked at the price tag, and it said that because the Graco stroller was sold out, that we could substitute the Eddie Baur one for 8 more dollars. We agreed on it and bought it. Tommy ended up putting the stroller together, and I can’t tell you how many laps he did with both boys in the stroller. Brandon loves it!

Tommy changed Logan earlier tonight, and put some Oragel on his gums. He then said "I feel some bumps." I said "where? on top or on bottom?" He said "both, I think. I just felt the top, not sure about the bottom."

Jane 03-09-2006 07:39 AM

Good morning ladies,

Cristi - I feel for ya having to wait for a repairman! Some companies won't even say morning or afternoon, which I hate. I've got to the point of saying here's my cell phone #, call when you're close to being ready, and I'll be there then. Did your realtor agree to going with the 2 hours on Sat? Hope so. That's long enough anyway, right?

Marti - did you find your food journal? I use school paper in a 3-ring binder, lol. And I've been writing down everything before I eat it, lol, which helps.

Susan - will Rachel be living with you again, or do you know that yet?

Ginny - I'll for sure be a part of the wedding. I'm very close to my son and I just love his financé. But if they marry early, it wouldn't be a big wedding, is what I meant. Her dad is gaining some weight back, and seems a little better, so they're holding off for now, and trying to stick with Plan A, lol. I, too, really enjoy the Everybody Loves Raymond reruns. I think I've seen all of them at least once. Marie cracks me up. Well, they all do. So you have a guest room? I will, too, before long, and can't wait! Some nights Neal really vibrates the walls with his snoring and I really don't like to wake him. DGDs are so fun - I have 5 of them, lol, and am hoping for a boy grandchild someday.

Angie - aww, Neal and I have "dates" too. We even dress similar. Now that he's retired, it's fun to just pick up and go do whatever we want. I saw an ad on TV last night for "24" - the video game, and thought of you. :)

Sue - how exciting about your house. :high: Bet you won't have much trouble selling yours. Glad I don't have to go through that again, though. There are so many memories for Neal here! He was born here, as was his mom. All 3 of Mary's kids learned to walk here, and that's kind of special to her.

Mindee - YAY for the new stroller, and wow! you really got a good deal!

Today I'm going to wash up the new towels for the new house. Gonna cut the tags off first - don't like those, lol. But first I have to do the Wally World thing. We're almost out of fresh fruit and veggies again. Love those grape tomatoes!!

I'm OP and feeling great! The WW "free" soup is helping me stay not so hungry.

Have a good day, chickas.

RosieKate 03-09-2006 08:50 AM

Yay! We have SNOW!

My kids will be so excited when they get up...now I am just waiting to see if the school announces a late opening. They better, the rascals!

Jane - are you back on WW? your post reminded me that I have a big bag of frozen "free" soup. I need to eat that up - it's so good. Our preschool decision for Leigh is about where she will go in the fall. She's very happy where she is and none of the changes I am concerned about are happening until the fall, so we are happy where we are for the rest of this school year.

Cristi - good luck with the home showing. When I was growing up we moved alot, and I remeber having to keep the house clean and ready to show. What a childhood memory! My kids are growing up withthe memory of every thing being unfinished, lol!

Marti - so glad you are getting to the gym. Your job has such a great deal and it's nice that you are getting a chance to to use it. I know I really like using our community center. It's a reasonable price and it's nice and close.

Mindee - you are going to love the double stroller - it will give you freedom you never thought you had, lol

Susan- mmmmpretzelsmmmm - did I mention I've been sugar free...been eating alot of pretzels and grapes to get throught the "detox"

Angie - WAAAA - I want a date with my DH! We were despairing of our lack of grown up time last night.....and are going to do something about that. We have some friends who owe us some babysitting so we are going to take them up on it.

Well, life for me just keeps getting busier. I realized, almost too late, that I need to take 3 more credits so that I can renew my teaching license. Need to do it before June. Fortunately I registered for a class I can do from home. Now I just have to find the time to do it! Meanwhile the preschool auction is high gear and I have an all day parenting conference to attend ( part of my preschool parent job). In two weeks, all that will be done and maybe I can cruise a bit on preschool stuff. I also have to get cracking on Vacation Bible School, since I am planning the craft activities. Also have to do some lesson plans for my Sunday School class....and, and and....yikes!

Ok - gotta go check out the school closure website. Keep your fingers crossed for a snow day!

tommysgirl18 03-09-2006 11:24 AM

we are already loving the new stroller!

we *might* be moving the end of next month. (back down state, there is no work up here, so we have to go where the work is) we already found a place that has a two bedroom opening the end of next month, so please keep your fingers crossed that we get this one!

I told Tommy that I wanted to get one so that I could go for walks with the boys. (I had originally planned to use it during spring time while he was sleeping during the day, but since he isn't working, well, we can use it while we walk the mall)

FrouFrou 03-09-2006 12:49 PM

Just a quick Hi from me for now.

DS just let me know there are supposed to be some bad storms moving through and if I was going to the store I better get ther before they hit. We finally got rain this morning! YAY!! :carrot: :cp: :rain: Normally, I don't care for the rain...but it is soooooo dry here we NEED it! Had a fire yesterday, burned 10,000 acres! Geez, why won't people listen and not throw their cigarettes out the window?! That has always been a pet peeve with me. The cigarette is not so nasty that they can't stick it to their mouth and smoke it but they won't put it out in their ashtray in the car!!!! That is what they are for! UGH! Anyway, we've had too many fires lately and they think most of them have been caused by that.

Better get going. The rain is still coming down pretty good and I can't imagine it getting worse. I sure don't want to be out in it if it does.

Be back in a few to do individuals. ;)

da fat n da furious 03-09-2006 01:02 PM

Good morning all,

Jane, what color towles did you buy? I am thinking I need to buy some towels, some of ours have been with us since before were were married.
Monte and I usually do have a date a week,,,and the last while Ive been at home,,with kids and such he said we can go grab a coffee... I look forward to our nights out.
Sue, how exciting, both you and Jane having new homes. And like Cristi oh joy of selling yoru existing home.

Katy, and you are loving ever moment of your hectic life! Tanner's school is doing a silent auction tonight. First time Ive not helped, Im not even going to it. AS for dates nights,,,it could also be date DAYS. If you can get your friends to watch the kids, the two of you could go relax have a coffee, we have gone to Chapters bought a coffee first and wandered around, talking of the books we have read and the books we want to read. Those are bad cause usually we end up buying books...lol

Well today I am going to go get my nails done, and then going to see my friends play. Looking forward to both.
Right now I am letting my fingers do the walking and calling for props...never have done that before.
Monte just called to say a horrible storm is on its way,,closed part of the highway.
Well going to start getting ready.

eloisecat 03-09-2006 02:54 PM

Katy: Have you tried freezing your grapes for a fabulous sugar-free snack?? Also, if you have Trader Joe's (aren't they in Oregon??), they sell freeze-dried strawberries. The entire container is only 2 points, and they are so sweet and yummy! I'll munch on them when I'm watching tv. They're also really good in cereal.

Snow, eh? We're about to get some more rain...we need it badly down here. IT's been a super dry winter.

Marti 03-09-2006 03:01 PM

Yes.....snow..........in Oregon. I drove home from work while it was snowing. And then I wake up to see that it's still here!!:dizzy:

Didn't like driving in it in the dark. So it took me longer to get home. At least it's not tons of it. About an inch or so.

Ooh.....I'll BBL, someone is at the door!

Dahlia 03-09-2006 04:16 PM

ok ladies,
It's happened, and sooner than I had expected it to..I am hooked on you gals. I came home from work, sat down, turned on my computer, went on line and started doing payroll. 3fc came up, so I scrolled down to today's posting and I was lost, before I realized it I was engrossed in the daily happenings of your lives and my payroll just sat there. It was funny to get to the end and realize I was suppose to be working on the paychecks.. but that is ok. it just means I feel at home with you girls..

You are having snow in Oregon and we are having rain in Michigan. :) It rained pretty hard last night and again this morning. Most of our snow is going fast, and there is a lot of mud around. I guess we even had a small thunder storm last night, but I didn't hear it. Put hubby in the guest room last night so I wouldn't have to listen to his snoring, and guess I must have slept pretty good if I didnt' hear that.

What is this free soup you gals are talking about? Could or would you share the recipe? Dried strawberries sound good, I like them in various cereals, didn't know you could buy them by themselves. I have a super wally world here too, do they carry them? I'll have to check this weekend.

Well, better get moving, have to start supper, then plan on riding another 6 miles at least on my bike, shower and the day will be done.

Making dates with your hubbys is a good thing. My hubby and I used to always take at least a 3 day mini vacation after our busy season was over. It gave us a chance to catch up on *our time* cause with 5 boys and a business to run we hardly saw each other for months, except when we both fell exhausted into bed at night.. you have to keep the relationship going strong....

ok, well will check in again tomorrow. Have a good night all.

Ginny:carrot: I love this little guy

FrouFrou 03-09-2006 04:23 PM

Hello ladies....

Back again! Didn't rain hard like DS said it would. Of course he was just relating to me what he saw on the news. Well, they have been saying rain for a few days and nothing. Last nights newscast mentioned NO RAIN for today and what does it do? It pours. Anyway, glad we got some.

SUSAN...Gaby is so cute! Glad Rachel seems to be better. But teenagers are so much fun aren't they? Right! Almost like going through menopause! Pretzels sounded so good I bought some when I went to the store. Never used to but now, food brings me peace and comfort and some days it seems I can't get enough! :moo: :sumo: :ink: Feel like a big oinker sometimes.

SUE...yay for the new house!:carrot: And wishing you good luck with the sale of your home. :lucky:

MARTI...hopefully you get the girls to go to the gym with you. It's always easier when you have a buddy. Yesterday I bought a new notebook to reorganize my WL journal/photo album/scrapbook...it was all three in one, lol. So getting everything in that and also have the WATP book to write in also. Making a point of writing in it every day and reading it-hoping that helps.

JANE...yeah, never understand companies and their time frame. Glad it was something simple. He said the screen (filter) needed to be washed with a fine brush with soapy water. Hmmm, why didn't I think of that? I just vacuum it all the time thinking it got everything. But he held it up to the light and said see that? That is fabric softener build up. Thought he was crazy, but okay. When I washed it with the soapy water and the brush (toothbrush) I could actually smell the fabric softener. Who would have thought? Not going to do a Saturday Open House after all. Apparently, it wasn't a for sure thing, just kind of thrown out there before talking to the realtor that does the open houses.

KATY...jeez lady, you tired me out just reading your post! I LOVE grapes but don't buy them often. Seems like when I do I don't ever get any! I would have to buy A LOT to have any around this house because everyone likes them! Hope the kids didn't have to go to school until later, or even at all. Some snow would be nice here!

MINDEE...glad you guys got a good deal on a different stroller! Moving again?! Like I have room to say anything! Hope you guys get the place and you have lots of help to help you guys move! :crossed: :lucky:

NANCY...I have a bag of frozen fruit that I snack on sometimes, great snack food.

GINNY...isn't it funny how that works...I'm glad you feel at home here. We are happy to have you join us. Well, maybe this time will be a girl! :crossed: You made me laugh...my DH slept on the couch for a little while last night so I could get some sleep because his allergies were acting up and he couldn't breathe. Man, talk about a snore! :yikes: To top it off he has sleep apnea so when he can't breathe it is horrible!

ANGIE...V and I have a date night. We've been doing that since a year after we married. Although...here lately the dates are far and few between. He has been working so much the last date we had was Valentine's Day! I used to take him lunch too just to spend time together-he's just like 10 minutes away. Really need to get back to doing that again. Hope you had a nice day of pampering and you enjoy the show.

Hope I didn't miss anyone, seems like I always do. Anyway, HI to everyone else!

I better get going. Trying to get my laundry done-seeing if the dryer works better since I WASHED the filter, lol. I can say, I have never washed a dryer filter so it never donned on me to do it now. We read the books and it never mentioned anything about washing it. Just to vacuum it once a month. Well, I was vacuuming it once a day sometimes. But I am glad it was something simple and I know the next time, DUH!

Take care ladies and have a wonderful day!

Katiecat 03-09-2006 05:13 PM

Hi ladies...I'm still here, still reading, just hurts to type too much all at once. Maybe I just talk (type) too much? :)

Cristi, we are getting tons of rain, keep having flood warnings - there are three major rivers in our area. I'm ready for a break. Good luck on showing your house -- I know that's incredibly stressful.

Susan  from one mom of an adolescent to another. My son, who is a darn smart kid, may not pass this year because he won't do any of his homework. Every weekend, it's a battle...and it wears me out. Don't know if it helps, but I gave my mom a lot of grief when I was growing up, and we like each other a lot now :) You can love someone but not like them very much, if YKWIM...and Mark Twain once said, "the older I get, the smarter my parents are..." so I always hold out hope that one day my kid will come around and realize I have a little bit of life experience and not all my advice is crap.

Katy, are you thinking of going back to teaching? What grade level are you planning the crafts for VBS -- or will it be all grades? Does your church use a preplanned program, or do you make up your own? Frozen bananas are good, too, but I'd have to resist the temptation to dip them in chocolate...mmmmmmm...:T

Jane, loved the pic of Mackenzie!!! We are going to DL 4/9-4/13, can hardly wait :hyper:

Marti, we wanted to go to a Celtic Faire this weekend in Angels Camp, but it's supposed to be 29 with snow flurries on Saturday. For an outdoor fair? No thanks! Is the snow still on the ground there, or has it melted away?

Ginny, hi  the WW "free" soup is basically just made with "free" veggies -- any of them that are listed as zero points (carrot, onion, cabbage, greenbeans, zucchini, celery, peppers, etc.) I usually throw in a can of V8 for flavor, and sometimes a cube or two of boullion, and some herbs. It's always different, depending on what veggies I have on hand, and what's in season, and it's good to make a big batch and keep it in the freezer. It's considered zero points, but if you ate a LOT, like a TON of it, you'd have to count a point or two, but it's totally worth it. Satisfying, gets those veggie and fiber servings in, takes the edge off your hunger before lunch or dinner. :carrot:

Angie, going stir crazy yet? I was supposed to go back to work in two weeks on 3/23, but still having problems with my arm -- clumsy thumb, numbness and tingling in my fingers, arm hurts from the incision on the inside of my elbow down to my hand, and there is this annoying snapping or cracking sensation in my wrist, that sometimes really smarts and makes all my fingers go tingle like an electric shock :fr: I see the doc tomorrow, and we'll see what she says.

OK ladies, that's all I can type, hi to everyone else, and I'm still reading every day even if I can't write so much right now...

Hugs,
Mary Kate
