Time For Serious Fun #125
TIME FOR SERIOUS FUN
We are a thread dedicated to making losing weight a pleasant experience. We laugh, cry and talk together. We have challenges, points for staying on program, drinking our water, and exercising. We have a daily topic to join in. Our only focus is to help us realize that dieting and all that goes with it need not be unpleasant, but can be fun. Come join the fun here at Time for Serious Fun! Everyone is Welcome! TOPICS: Monday: Mission Monday New mission each week Tuesday: Target Tuesday We target something to work on Wednesday: Wednesday's Woes Our day to complain about anything and everything Thursday: Time for Us Thursday The day set aside to pamper us! Friday: Fabulous Lbs Down Friday. Report our losses! POINTS VALUES: STAYING ON PROGRAM IS 2 POINTS DRINKING YOUR WATER IS 1 POINT EXERCISING IS 1 POINT POSTING A WTG: A WTG IS WHEN SOMETHING NON WEIGHT LOSS HAPPENS TO YOU LIKE A NEW DRESS IN A SMALLER SIZE. TO POST A WTG, USE ALL CAPS AND POST IT IN PINK. FOR EXAMPLE: WTG: I rode my bike 2 miles instead of one today |
TUESDAY: Today is target Tuesday and our target this week is continuing with exercise info. If you can't get in an hour, try half an hour, broken into 10 minutes sections, try walking 15 minutes of your lunch hour, 10 minutes fast walking or running on the treadmill, etc.
POINTS: LeeAnn :flow2: LeeAnn: My son is a black belt in JuJitSu and he loves it. He even helps run the dojo he belongs to. He is part of a group that goes to matches and whatnot. It is a big family organization and I can't remember the darn name for anything. I know he has a big tournament coming up in August in Ohio I think. I better get kickin. I have lots to do today. Faye :) |
:( So I didn't get to go to my TWD (tae kwon do) class. My mother decided she was having a brain aneurism (spelling!) and that I had to take her to the emergency room.
While we were there she thought that they weren't moving fast enough for her taste (4 ambulances came in with two very serious cases while we were there) so called her doctor at home to see if he could make them take her in next. (Of course- he wouldn't.) So 8 hours later (2 am) the doctor sends her home with a flu and a nasal allergy- NOT a brain aneurism or a stroke. *sigh* Julie...ever wonder where I get my overreaction tendencies from? Hopefully I'm not as serious as that. LOL! :D ...just FIVE MORE DAYS!!! At least I can be glad that the police weren't called this time. Sheez! :^: -Lee Ann (drinking an extra lot of coffee today) |
WEDNESDAY: today is Wednesday's woe so if you have a complaint or gripe, today is the day to get it off your chest!
LeeAnn: Sounds like mama has some "issues." My mom has been gone 8 years now, but she was a real piece of work too so I can sympathize. Glad it is nothing serious with her health though. I hope everyone has a wonderful day today. You missing ladies. We miss it when you are not here! Faye :) |
Morning everyone,
I've been doing well, but we are finally getting a blast of winter (subzero after 50s in January) and it's making me want to hibernate! I took the day off skating yesterday cuz my knee felt twingy after lots of jumping practice on Monday. I'm back at it today, though. Lee, your mom needs a padded room--badly! Everyone have a great day. Julie |
LOL! We just brush off anything she says or does. She doesn't know where the new house is or the new phone # and that's all that matters. We can control how and when she is in our life. (Not saying she won't be in our life, we couldn't keep the kids from her... too cruel to them and her.)
So tonight is fight practice and tomorrow is TWD.. Hubby is keeping up with me. I show him everything I'm doing in TWD as soon as I get home, so we're kind of doing it together. We're having such a good time. :D :carrot: (Julie- we feel like we HONESTLY don't care about belts in the SCA anymore. We're doing it in TWD instead...TWD- pass the test= get the belt. No politicking to go up levels.. it's all skill and study...YAY!) :carrot: :D I'm not losing any weight, and since I've decided to stay away from fake sugar (chemical city!) I've probably been more off program than on, ...BUT my clothes are fitting a bit better and I'm so much more cheerful and laid back about the little things. So's Dave (hubby). We're even flirting more and .. well we're happier, anyway. Ha ha! I agree with Faye.. where'd you all go? I know I can be tiresome, but... ;) (LOL) Amanda, still kicking butt all over that scale? I'm so jealous! Sometimes I feel like I'll neve be as low as I was for the one whole year Dave let me before we got preg again! I even weighed less than I did (155) in high school! Faye- I don't blame him. If I could find a sitter, I'd probably volunteer to work for free at my dojang, too! I think I've been hit one too many times somewhere in my life. I love fighting. I love tournaments of all kinds becasue you get to meet and "greet" other fighters and learn all kinds of new things! It's so much fun to pull a new trick and have everyone say "What the heck was THAT?" Anyhow.. I'm currently.. (running to the scale in the bathroom)..oh geez! I jumped up to 166! Need to go to more practices and sparring classes! Later, girls! I'm off to finish packing the girls' room up. Looks like we might be able to close on the house early and move Fri night and Sat morning.... hope hope! -Lee Ann (who's extra chatty today!) |
Hi guys,
Sorry I've not been around - I've been pretty busy (socialising and having fun, as per my new year resolution!) and now I am sick! I've come down with a really nasty head cold and my head feels like it's going to explode - so that means no gym for me for a while. I expect it was the copious amounts of alcohol I had at the weekend that have lowered my immunity - you'd think with all the veg I've been eating on my new plan I'd be safe from colds! I weighed in this morning and I haven't lost any more weight - boo! Nigel has lost 7lb and the only exercise he gets is walking from the computer to the loo! I guess I did drink alot on Saturday, and then had a pizza on Sunday and haven't been able to exercise since then. I'm doing my best and will try even harder in March. On a positive note, I did lose 3lb earlier in the month, so at least there was some loss in February - which is more than for the past few months! I haven't taken my inches yet - I'll do it when I'm feeling a bit better. I'm getting alot of positive male attention when I am out and am feeling pretty good about myself right now - so sod the scales! Anyway, take care everyone Love Amanda x |
4 points for me yesterday. Not much else going on, though.
Amanda, I"m so happy that you're out and socializing and having a great time! You deserve it!! Lee, I know what you mean about the belt thing. I'm doing the same thing you are, only with skating. I'm hoping it means I can just fight at Pennsic and have fun doing it--instead of thinking I have something to prove to everyone. Hope everyone else is having a great week! TTFN, Julie |
THURSDAY: Today is Time for Us Thursday so let's give ourselves a little special time today.
We miss you Carri! We miss you Susan (though you may be at your quilt thingy still) Amanda: Hope you are feeling better hon! My cold decided it would be helped along by my allergies  Consequently, I still have some of it hanging around, UGH! LeeAnn: My son was so funny because they live in Northwest Indiana about 100 miles from Chicago. He wanted the 4 of us to go see a Cubs game this year, but he outlined what months and days were a no go as he has a couple of tournaments coming up, one in spring and one in August and would be training and didn't want to have to miss the beer and hot dogs! Julie: How was the skating yesterday, ok? It got up to 76 here yesterday and I had to turn the AC on last night! It is lovely this morning. I have a fan on and the door open. An update on my dil's dad. She got an e-mail from the dr that saw him originally and that she contacted recently because her dad is getting worse. He told her that they turned him down for surgery at the Cleveland Clinic and there is nothing he can do to help him because he needs at least a new heart valve and probably a heart transplant. He has two things against him big time regarding transplant, being in prison and being a legal alien (which because of his prison time they will probably deport him when he gets out in a year) I just feel so sorry for her as she and her sisters have only made contact with him over the last couple years and the first time she has seen him since he went to prison was a couple months ago when my son took her to Boston to visit him. Heavy burden for her as she is the oldest dd. Everyone have a super day. I am off to clean! (Big surprise, huh! I know you all are falling off your chairs from shock! ) Faye ;) |
Morning Girls ... well as of this morning I got on the scale and I am down 15 pounds since Jan 3rd, so that mean I have lost 7.5 pounds each month for Jan and Feb ... I was getting kind of down on myself because I still was not under 200 but I was like ya know what? I have done pretty darn well with those 15 pounds so I am not gonna pout but keep going forward ... I feel like I am in the zone again and really gonna keep it up.
Amanda - Dont be down on yourself I too had pizza this last weekend, it has such a hold on me it is crazy !!! I love it and crave it all of the time, so I know where you are coming from ... but I only had about 3 pcs, which normally I would have had about 8-9, so I did do a little better. You will be fine!! You are doing great! Faye, Julie, Susan, LeAnn - I have missed alot so not doing personal messages but hope you all are doing well ... Have a great day!!! |
NO TOPIC TODAY!
POINTS: Julie :bravo: Carri: You are doing great and it will be soon that you are at goal I am sure! I hope everyone has a wonderful day and wonderful weekend! Faye :) |
First of all,
CONGRAT CARRIE!! :carrot: :carrot: :carrot:   :jig: :jig:  :cb: :cb: :bravo: :bravo:  :hat: :cp: :dancer: :dancer: :dancer: :dancer: :dancer: Sorry if that's carried (ha!) away...but 15 pounds in 2 months is AWESOME!! I haven't lost pound one yet, in spite of all my efforts...gotta get my thyroid checked.... Next--4 points for me yesterday. Hmm, not much else to say. Still cold and hibernate-y here. Skating is progressing nicely. I want to skate my first two tests in June, so I have a LOT of work to do. I've also been invited to skate in the club show in May, but it will depend on my own show schedule and how stressed I am. Amanda--hope you're feeling better today! TTFN, Julie |
Faye.. AIR CONDITIONING??!! I'm so jealous! It's the same as at Julie's house.. cold, windy and bleak. We generally have to schedule our family visits around tournaments, too. We like to try to fit everything we like in and not miss anything! (Especially our families!)
Man, am I sore! We don't use so much wrist and ankle in the SCA, and mine are aching (not hurt.. just "I got a good workout" kind of sore)... I'm afraid to step on the scale again, though.. last time.. well you know. Ha ha! Julie- yeah. I hope Ced isn't too disappointed in me for giving up the whole "knighthood" dream, but the pressure's completely off now. I'm getting that feeling of achievement from other places, I gave my webpage away, got off the ironrose list, and decided that fighting is going to be more like my number 3 hobby instead of my number one life's goal, etc. There's nothing to make me feel like I "have to," and it feels so good! :dizzy: :smug: I went to fight practice Wed night and cleaned up.. without my contacts! (I forgot them).. back in Oldcastle style! With that Tiny Shield!!!! Was definitely in the Zone. Love it. Carri... just one word... WOW! The kids are getting excited about the move. I've been talking it up for the last few weeks. We're doing the final walkthrough today and (darn lawyers!) closing on monday. Amelia (almost 3) keeps asking "go Amelia's big new happy house now?" LOL! Deanna (1 yr this month) keeps throwing everything into boxes now. I think my plan to get them excited about the move worked! On the other hand, I also haven't slept for the last three nights. Because their room has been mostly packed, it echoes horribly and magnifies any sound. So they are constantly waking each other up all night. They're pretty miserable, and I'm tired, but I keep saying "Only __ more days!!" As soon as they have their own rooms about 85% of the sleep issues will be solved and we can start sleeping in even as late as 6:30am! .. You ladies with no kids.... Wait until you are darn sure you're done sleeping for the rest of your life!!!! Those parents that tell you how wonderful and fulfilling it is are laughing behind your back because company loves misery and they want to spread the love! :D ha ha! Keep smiling! -Lee Ann |
Afternoon All - thanks for all the congrats on my 15 pounds, I do feel like it is quite an accomplishment but then again I still feel down on myself for putting that much weight back on again ...put I am looking ahead positively knowing I will get where I want to be this year if I keep this up ...:carrot:
Julie - Thanks for all the smileys, made me feel special :) I would check your thyroid checked, they check mine like once a year, but I have never had a problem with it. Leann - I hate moving, I went through it last in Nov of 2004 and I told dh you better like this house alot because I am never going through that again...so I feel for ya! :) Also I hear ya on the sleep and kids, that is why I do not have any yet, I sooooooooooo love my sleeping in . Faye - How is everything going with your program? Keeping your dil and her dad in my prayers.... Susan - Hi, havent heard from you in a while, hope all is okay. Amanda - Well it is the weekend again, can I stay OP and stay away from the pizza ( back away from the pizza box, Carri... ) , who knows but I am certainly going to try... again - only you know my pizza pain ... :jeno:  Hope you all have a great weekend !! I am going to relax, relax!! |
Good morning ladies. Quick peek in to put us on the first page again.
Carri: I am not even working my program right now. I can't go into it, but I have some stuff going on that is kind of keeping me "all shook up" and I am just going day to day until it gets sorted out. Thanks for asking though. I am hoping to get some honey do list stuff done today with Jack. Nothing earth shattering, but some stuff that needs to be done before my sister gets here. **Regarding the above that I said to Carri. Keep me in your thoughts. There is something we are having to do and we hope it comes out alright and in the meantime, my insides feel like jello all the time waiting.** Have a great weekend girls! Faye :) |
Faye.. good luck. Sounds like it's something big. I hope it turns out ok for you.
Carrie.. LOL! I feel about the same way. I don't want to move again if I can help it, either! And we don't even have all that much stuff to worry about any more! So we all went out as a family to Denny's. It was so nice that I skipped my TWD class this morning to stay with them longer. I had to guilt my husband into it, though. He rarely gets to just sit quietly (sort of) with the rest of the family and enjoy it all. Usually he comes home and puts them to bed. He admitted that he had a good time, too. Luv ya ladies.. dave wants the computer and he's threatening to pull the plug just to get me out of the chair. Ha ha! -Lee Ann |
Hi all,
Well I am finally feeling a bit better and made it out to the gym today for my 'legs, bums & tums' class. I was going stir crazy - hadn't been to the gym for a week and had loads of pent up energy! I'm still blowing my nose every 15 mins, but that's an improvement on every 2 minutes! FAYE - I hope whatever you are waiting on works out for you - I hope things are okay for you and I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers. CARRI - Sorry I'm late in congratulating you - but Woooooooooo-hoooooooo! on the 15lb loss! Wow, that is fantastic!! That must really motivate you to stay OP. Keep it up, you are obviously doing all the right things! JULIE - I may need to check my thyroid too - a friend has suggested it, but I don't like to bother my doctor! I had it tested 2 or 3 years ago and it was ok. Glad you are enjoying the skating - you must be superfit now and I bet you've laid down a lot of muscle on your legs! LEE - I don't envy you moving house - it will be worth it once you are all settled in. I can't believe how quick things move in the US - here it takes forever, then usually all falls through at the last minute! Have a nice weekend Love Amanda x |
Good morning girls! It is kind of unusual that I get weekend posters anymore so it was nice to see.
Amanda: Glad you are feeling better. My allergies cause my nose to drip all the time and it drives me nuts, especially at night so I know what you mean. Sometimes it wakes me up so much that I take kleenex and stuff it up one nostril just so I can sleep. Nothing is worse than being asleep and feelng this creepy crawly feeling when your nose runs! I am already so old I drool at night.....:o LeeAnn: We moved every three years for 20 years than between 1989 and 2001 we moved three times more so I am definitely moved OUT! We are going to stay put in the condo unless we win big at the casino or with the lottery or something! Even then, it would have to be millions and millions as I am not doing yardwork! I know you can't wait to be totally into your house. Congratulations btw! We got up and got ready to run errands yesterday and the phone rang just as we were leaving. Jack saw the caller ID was a Memphis # and before he could tell me not to answer I answered and it was work! They had some motor go out and the mechanics were changing it out, but they needed someone to go out and recalibrate some electronics on it. He told the foreman he had errands to run and then he would go out there. He went out around 1 PM and didn't get home until about 6. They don't want to pay for on call so it is whomever they can get ahold of and the one other guy that will answer his phone was moving his mother-in-law in with him this weekend so he couldn't. I told him the honey do can wait until next weekend so he can have at least one day of no work, but he said we would do it today. It isn't anything awful, just moving the old queen size bedrails to the garage and repasting some wallpaper in the hall bath since I didn't get time to strip, sand and repaint it like I wanted before my sister got here. He is also going to help me lug in paint to start doing touch up. I don't like being in the garage alone if I don't have to. I am a big wuss thinking I will run into some rodent in there! The complex hasn't had any more problems for several month now, but I am taking NO chances! There really isn't places for them to be now that it is all cleaned up out there, but you can't tell my brain that! Well, I am going to go. Oh, Carri, I think you are the one that reads the Harry Potter books. Guess what? I figured out who took the locket/horcrux out of that chalice in the lake where Dumbledore and Harry went to get the Horcrux. It is Regulas Black! If you look at the note, he addresses it to the "dark lord" and the only people who called Voldemort dark lord were death eaters so it kind of just came to me! My dd says that has been known for a long time on the websites and the rumor that is big right now is that Harry is that 4th Horcrux, but that sounds a little far fetched to me. Faye:) |
MONDAY: Today is Mission Monday and our Mission this week is information. I think sometimes we are woefully ignorant of food facts and dieting facts. Read labels on food and medication or supplements for dieting, check them out on the web to see if they are safe. Read the small print if you join a diet club or plan on using a particular diet so you don't get burned financially. Make sure the diet you want to use is safe!
Morning gals. Somehow I am back to square one with the cold. It came on yesterday and is full blown again today. I have to just push through it though as I have begun to paint and I can't just stop in the middle of it. I only have a little over 3 weeks until my sister is here and I want everything to be perfect when she comes. Mainly I am uncomfortable with a sinus headache, which is no fun, but hey, I have had worse things! I am just tired of being sick this last few months. I push myself to do stuff even if I am sick, which I know isn't smart, but if I don't do them they don't get done. I hope everyone has a great day today! Faye :) |
Bump.
Afternoon Girls....well I DID it !! I finally made it through a whole weekend without cheating on my program...usually every weekend I break down and have something totally fatty but I didnt this time, and even dh was eating poorly right in front of me ( bad dh ) :) :carrot: I really feel like I got the ball rolling this time, I was down another pound yesterday... I am changing my signature to my real weight even though I am truly embarrassed about how far I back slided but I gotta be truthful with myself. Faye - I hope everything will turn out okay for you and your situation. I will be thinking of you and Jack. On the topic today, I am the queen of reading labels, even the gals here at work ask me to advise them on it...kind of makes you feel good. Amanda - Thanks for the congratulations, glad you are feeling better and ready to get back to the gym ... Leann and Julie - Hi to you both ... Talk to you all later ( got 3 points all weekend, no exercise ) |
Faye, hope everything turns out the way you want it.
The quilt show and I didn't get to do much - I took my husband for blood work on Friday morning and they ended up admitting him to the hospital because his hemoglobin was down to 5.6 - 3 pints of blood and a new central line to administer it, I ask them about a tiny sore on his leg that has been healing - called in a vascular surgeon and 5 stints later, 3 in left leg, 2 in right, they finally declared him in good shape again and sent him home. He only had 40% circulation in the left leg and 50% in the right. He seems to be doing much better - they also started him on Procrit to keep the hemoglobin up. He's been eating everything in sight...after so many weeks of hardly eating. Just have to get him into shape for the surgery. It's just one thing after another. I got to the quilt show Wednesday and Thursday, then spent Friday and Saturday at the hospital - Sunday I told the nurses a white lie that I had to go to work and went for a couple of hours since it was just down the street from the hospital. He was okay with me going and doing okay then. I just feel like I'm worn out. I haven't been sleeping well because I have something going wrong with my hip that is so painful when I lay down. I'm trying to ignore it. I just don't have any time for me right now. My boss has been really good about me missing work, but I hate to miss anymore. I have to take dh to doctor the 21st so I'm going to try to get to my doctor that day and get it looked at. Been doing good with SB/WW - down 7.5 pounds since 2/06. |
TUESDAY: Today is Target Tuesday and our target this week is desserts. Should we deny ourselves completely, should we eat regular ones just once in awhile, should we eat ff or sugar free ones? This is something you have to decide for you. Some people can't stop at just one dessert, one bite, whatever and should consider not eating regular desserts at all, others can. I think we all need a treat now and then so be sure and include something a little sweet at least once a week even if it is just a ff pudding! There are a myriad of items for the sweet tooth so pick carefully girls and read those labels!
POINTS: Carri :cp: :cp: A ROUND OF APPLAUSE FOR THESE LADIES: Carri :cp: Susan :cp: Amanda :cp: Susan: You may have bursitis in your hip. Bursitis kind of feels like if you could just sit a certain way or just move it a certain way, it would feel better, though it won't. Your dr can prescribe a good anti-inflammatory for it, if that is what it is and heat helps a lot too! Glad you got to go to the show some and glad the dh is back up and going again and eating. I know you have to be running on empty! We will keep you in our prayers! Carri: Hey we all bounce around with this weight thing so don't feel embarrassed. I decided a long time ago not to beat myself up about it, just do something about it. Everyone have a super day. It is supposed to be like 70 here today and gorgeous! Faye ;) |
Hello, ladies - just a quick check in. 3 points for yesterday. I've done some easy exercise just to keep limber, but that's it until the hip straightens out.
We're supposed to hit 76 over the week end - I can't wait. Daffodils and Bradford Pear trees are blooming...SPRING! |
WEDNESDAY: Today is Wednesday's Woes so get it all out girls!
POINTS: Susan :cp: I have to run girls, lots to try and do today. Faye :) |
THURSDAY: Today is Time for Us Thursday so give yourself a treat and take some time for you.
Hope you all are having a great day! I ran tons of errands yesterday and finally got the paint I needed for the kitchen. The stuff I had was too old and I couldn't even stir it! I hope to get the countertops done today and a lot of housework done as I am way behind. I had intentions of doing some yesterday afternoon and evening, but Jack wanted me to sit and watch a movie with him so that screwed it all up. I am not complaining about ever being with Jack. He was funny last night. He said he thought our family probably thought we were sickening the way we hung all over each other. I told him, who cares, most of them are probably just jealous. Hey, anytime you have a man that EVERY day says to you, "Do you have any idea how much I love you?" He's a big BIG keeper! Not much to comment on as no one was here yesterday! Have a good day today! Faye :) |
Hi everybody
Sorry I've been MIA...it was Ben's 7th birthday party last weekend and I've basically been eating CRAP all week. Still getting plenty of exercise, but generally feeling icky about myself bec. of all the sugar. Today's another day, though. Hope everyone's doing well! Julie |
Just a quick hello. Had a bad day yesterday - carb cravings took over. Back on track and drinking a ton of water today. 72 degrees and I'm trapped here at work - not fair, I need to go for a walk.
|
FRIDAY: Today is Fabulous Lbs Down Friday so let's hear about those losses ladies!
The phone rang last night and my dh answered and was talking to someone. Come to find out it was my dgs. I got on the phone with him (we haven't seen him since Christmas) and I said hi and he said hi and said, "What questions do you want to ask?" I told him he had called me so he should be asking the ????. He just giggled so I asked him if he was excited about soccer starting and he said yes. I told him that was the only question I had and laughed so he started laughing and said, "Well, you coud ask me how is school." So I did that so it was this back and forth thing with him giving me ?? to ask him. He got on this diarrhea kick and his mom says he is in that toilet humor stage about everything poo or vomit or whatever. BOYS! He also started making squeaking noises like a mouse over the phone and said their was a mouse in the phone line and just laughed and laughed. He really getsa kick out of teasing me about being afraid of rodents. His mom says he is reading everything he can get his hands on now include signs on the road, which drives her nuts. We are going out to dinner and to a movie with them Tuesday evening I guess. Boy they sure grow up fast. He just had his First Grade orientation. I hope everyone has a wonderful day, is down lbs and has a great weekend. Faye :) |
Down just .5 this week, but I'll take it. The way my weight loss pattern looks, I'll probably maintain the next 2 weeks.
It's supposed to be 75 degrees today, but rain this morning. I'm really ready for this. Got a new top on Clearance at Wal*Mart size 12-14 (which was marked a large!) for only $3. Finally, something that actually fits. I actually look 10-pounds thinner than when I am wearing my usual baggy stuff. |
Morning All - I didnt weigh myself this morning but the other day I was down a pound, so I will just mark that down as my pounds down this week.
Faye - my nephew ( 6 ) is in the same stage - everything is poo or gas or something ...I think it is a boy thing ... Just a quick pop in, everybody have a great weekend!!!! |
:carrot: Good for you, Carri - another pound gone!
It's so beautiful - 75 degrees - I put on my walking shoes and went out and walked for 15 minutes before I ate lunch. Whew, I'm out of shape after the long winter.:dizzy: |
Good morning ladies! We had a date night last night and went to the movies to see Failure to Launch. Funny funny movie and we really liked it. You even get to see Terry Bradshaw naked....
LBS DOWN: Susan :goodscale Carri :goodscale Good job girls! Today we have to get some more stuff done to prepare for my dsis to come April 1. I sure did want to get the wallpaper striped and new paint up in the upstairs bathroom, but it isn't going to happen so we have to repasted a bunch of places. Wallpaper in a bathroom, though pretty is not too smart, especially where you have the shower as the steam seems to loosen the glue after awhile. This paper is really old though. I have a couple household cleaning jobs to get done I didn't get done yesterday because I went out to lunch with dd and I hope maybe I can start painting the kitchen cabinets, well actually just doing some touchup. Hope everyone has a wonderful and fun weekend. Faye :) |
Good morning girls! Just going to bump us up to the front page. You all have a great Sunday!
Faye :) |
Hi all,
Well would you believe I have been re-infected and am sick as a dog! Basically, I was just getting better and then I babysat for my friend and her little baby was really sick, the poor thing and I've gone and caught it again! I've got the lot - sore throat, heavy cold, achiness. Me and my friend Bev were due to go out to see this DJ on friday as part of my birthday celebrations - I'd got the tickets weeks ago and we were both really looking forward to it. But she was sick too and we both felt so rough! But in the end we decided to go as I'd spent alot of money on the tickets and we thought ' we'll just go for an hour or so'. We drank vodka and red bull (energy drink) to help us along and ended up dancing all night and staying till 2.30am! I've been really sick since then, but I'm glad I went! My food has been diabolical - I've got PMS and feeling grotty and not being able to exercise is making me eat all the wrong things. The new diet has gone out the window because I haven't had the energy to cook - but I know I'll be back OP as soon as I'm better. I can't help thinking that Summer is around the corner and I'd really like to be a lot slimmer than I am now! We've got snow here right now - snow in Spring, whatever next? Love Amanda x |
Good Sunday morning girls! Imagine me posting on the weekend, ha ha ... anyway I got on the scale this morning I am down pounds for the week!!!
:carrot: Remember I just said one as a guess last week since I only weigh myself on the weekend usually ... I am so excited ... things are really moving now!!! Amanda - Sorry you are feeling so ill lately, I know you will be better soon and back OP !!! Faye - I really want to go see that movie ... I love Sarah Jessica Parker ... glad you had a good time ... Talk to you all later, we are going out to lunch with dh's father and mother, his father turns today ! |
MONDAY: today is Mission Monday and our mission this week is to give ourselves a break. Not from dieting as such, but emotionally. We have to remember we are imperfect beings and as such sometimes make rotten decisions or ones that are just not in our best interest. Let's try and remember that though we are anxious about our weight loss, that we still have "fat" minds and have to deal with that first.
Carri: That is wonderful about your weight losses. Continue to do such great work! Failure to Launch is a funny movie, even Jack liked it and he doesn't really care for romantic comedies much. He is much more a war movie kind of boy! Amanda: Glad you had such a good time, sorry it ended with you getting sick again. I know how that goes. I have been dealing with this cold/allergy thing for a long time too. Hope you are feeling better. Jack got called out to work late last night so we are a sleepy household this morning. It is also hot and sticky here and looks like the ole AC is going to have to be serviced so it is kind of uncomfortable but we've had worse by far. I am going back to bed for an hour, just wanted to set up the Monday post. TTFN Faye;) |
