Jaded Ladies Challenge #2
We've had this challenge here before and by request, we're going to restart it again!! It started in the Support thread, and since most of us don't get a chance to venture far from our little corner of the woods, I thought I would have one for us.:cp:
This will be our 2nd round. Once we hit 100 post I'll start a new thread, that way it won't take so long for it to load for some. Here is how it works. You choose something that you would like to work on and do it for 21 days. (to make it a habit) Such as drink 80oz. of water:cheers: , walk a mile,:tread: or what ever else may come to mind. :beach: You do a count down. But if you miss a day...you start over to day one. :fr: And you can start over many times, but if you're constantly starting over.....well then....I would say maybe you should find something else to work on for 21 days. Also, during the days you're sick and your body just doesn't feel good,:tired: we have what we call a "pause". You pause your efforts until you're feeling better and just continue from what day you stopped. Simple you say.....believe me,,,,it's not as simple as it sounds...there have been times that I just had to start over. And just a reminder, this is not a competition against others. We are not competing, we are trying to make better habits in our lifestyles and this is just one way to help kick start it. So anyone like to join??? |
Day four for me.
Ok...can't believe an entire 100 post went by w/out me being part of the challenge! I hang my head in shame.
But here is the news. I decided to get more water intake which started due to the head cold. I'm on my 4th day of drinking 60oz of water a day. Once I get to feeling better, I will do an exercise challenge. But for starters...it's going to be the water. |
I really need to work on my water intake. So that will be my first challenge, I will be drinking 3 litres per day.

I'm going to change mine. I get at 8o oz. so now I'm going to say to work out 4 days a week. I really need to do that.

Day 5 for W & V, Day 3 for E
Bumping this up in case anyone wants to join me in another challenge.
I am doing a water, vitamin and exercise challenge and starting from this past Monday. Going to try and keep it all straight with the exercise because I won't do that consecutively. So today is Friday, April 21 and this is Day 5 for my water and vitamins. And day 3 for exercise. Going to have to check my calendar to make sure about the exercise, it may be day 4. And Monday is my WI. I weighed this past Monday and WI at a whopping 201, YIKES! Then bought new scales and weighed two days later when I bought those at 203, double YIKES! So we'll see what they say on Monday. Onward and upward ladies, or should I say onward and down-ward?! ;) |
Our new slogan - Downward! It's better than TOPS - we used to call the person who lost the most weight the Loser of the Week.
Count me in. I will start with Monday's weigh-in. I want to do 21 days OP - Zone-style. I've been sorta doing it this week with a couple of notable lapses....need to get that little extra motivation... |
I will also start the challenge with my WI on Mon. I am already doing plenty of liquids, so don't know what my challenge will be, but I will do either food OP or exercise. Maybe I should challenge myself to do exercise other than walking since I am doing well on the walking. Hmmmmm...

Oh I'm so for this!! Cristina, thank you for getting this back out...I was going to search for it earlier today but just didn't have time!!
And you always remind me about vitamins! Such a good part of any healthy way of eating. Not always do I get all the vitamins I need!! Must remember to stick the bottle out where I can see it everyday. I've been doing the gazelle and water. But I think I'll wait until Monday to actually track it. (I'll still be working out and drinking....) How fun!! And Mondays are WI days right!? Who else is ready for this?? |
Day 6 for W & V, Day 5 for exercising
I'm glad to see you ladies joining in on the challenge. I am so ready for this.
Okay, so checked my calendar (been keeping track of it every day) and yesterday was day 4 for exercise, just missed Wednesday because of all the errands I had to run. Anyway...it is a little after 10 a.m. and I have already went for a 3 mile walk, took my vitamins and drank four bottles of water, GULP! V and I took a trip to SAMS to get more sine I was almost out. Days 7 & 8 for water & vitamins down, as is days 6 & 7 for exercise. (really need to post this daily so I don't get confused, lol) This is for both Sunday and Monday. Yes, today...I did a three mile walk yesterday as well as this morning. And I already drank my four bottles of water for the day and took my vitimans. Will most likely drink a fifth, possibly a sixth one. I haven't had lunch yet and have been trying to drink one with it. Then I will have one while I cook dinner to help me eat less. Guess I didn't actually post what my challenge is so here goes:
Water-4 16.9 oz. bottles, no less. Take vitimans And exercise 6 days (It Figures-3 days, walk-3 days) So far so good. And...I am down a pound! :carrot: I hated that the new scales said I weighed more, but they are supposed to be accurate so...there's no going back to the old ones. Anywho...on to days 9 & 8! I am liking getting it all done before noon! |
WTG Cristina! I hope to be saying the same thing on next Monday's WI. I am on Day One of staying OP for 21 days. This has become more crucial as of my visit to the chiropractor today.
I've been having some knee and back pain, I assumed due to a bad turn in an exercise class. The back pain is something that comes and goes for me and has for years. My chiro examined my posture and stance and said her recommendation was to find a podiatrist and get some orthotics made....and until then to lay off the aerobics WAAAAAH |

So today is my day 1. Since I am already doing well on liquids and walking I am going to vow to stay OP for this challenge. My main goal is to get plenty of fruit and veggies. Somehow I have to make that scale move again. I have already had melon for breakfast and baby carrots for a mid morning munch. Good luck gals you are doing great .......... |
Oh KATY...sorry to hear about that. Hopefully, you can get some orthotics soon and get back to the aerobics. I hope your back gets to feeling better!:hug:
SUE...good to hear you are doing good with the liquids. I need to add more veggies and fruit to my diet also. But that will be another challenge. Today is day 8 for my exercise and that is done! Working on Day 9 for the water. Have had 3 bottles so far so it won't be a problem getting 4. This time I went ahead and put 5 on the counter so that's what I am aiming for today. Vitamins are not a porblem so far. I have been taking them with breakfast so that too is done. Now to keep it up! We can do it ladies! :carrot: |

Haven't posted much on here except that I want to do this. But I think I need something different than a 21day thing. Sometimes things don't go the way I have planned and I'll end up skipping a day which will have me starting over constantly. May do a monthly challenge. Something I want to acheive each month...such as lose 3lbs. (I'm such a SLOW loser) or clock in "so many" miles in exercise. Must think it over. But just wanted to let you know that I'm here, just not everyday. Make any sense?? |

Day 11 for the water and vitamins...DONE! :carrot: WOW, I can't believe that I am halfway through the challenge already with the water and vitamins. Today was IF day and man did it get to me for some reason. Thinking because my head is stopped up. WTG KATY! You go girl! :carrot: Sue...how are you doing? MARTi...it makes sense. It was hard for me to figure out how to do an exercise challenge because of skipping days. I finally just got it in my head that I HAVE to do it no matter what. I joined because knowing that I am paying for it, rather V is...I have to go. It forces me to go even if I don't want to. I always feel better after doing exercise though so it is always a good thing. Keep up the good work ladies! Remember...DOWNWARD! |
Today is day 12 for water & vitamins...have one bottle of water to drink before it will be done.

Ok - so I have to start over -- ALREADY! TOM has come and I've been eating too many starches...so I will be starting over. I think I'll modify somewhat...going to keep with in my calorie range of 1400-1700 cals; sticking mostly to Zone principles. Sing with me now..Tomorrow, tomorrow I'll love ya tomorrow, you're only a day away........

Well I am here. I did really well and stayed on track for 6 weeks. then went on holidays and can't seem to get back on track. So I will get back to exercising for 30 minutes in the morning, eating breakfast and taking a vitamin everyday.

Weigh in Monday! No change this week. With TOM and all, I really didn't want to get on the scale but I did and mercifully there is no gain. I finished day 2 at 1752 cals. My range ( according to s-people) is between 1440 and 1780, so I just squeaked in. |

Ok it's a start of a new month.... I got in 30mins of exercise this morning. Plan on putting in 1700 calories. Will calculate that after work. WI 149lbs. Ick...went up, but w/TOM it's to be expected. Check in after work. |

I am happy to say that I have today DONE! So..this is day 13 for exercise and day 15 for the water and vitamins! :carrot: I finished my fourth bottle of water about 1 today because I mowed both the front and back yard for V and man was I tired! Also, went to IF today and did my workout. So I really got a good work out with the mowing and IF and man do I feel it! Ouch! And, my hard work is paying off as I am down 2 pounds this week! :carrot: Just gotta keep it up! I'm thinking once I lose about 20 pounds or so I will slow down on the exercise and do 5 days a week, I don't know. I will cross that bridge when I come to it. HAPPY CHALLENGE LADIES! AND DOWNWARD... |
Way to go everyone. I have been sitting with a terminally ill relative and just eating when/what I can so I know I am not doing well. That good old "stress" eating we all know about. Once I get this week over I will get back on track. We lost my BIL yesterday and this week will be a long one.

SUE...sorry to hear about your relative. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. :hug: Okay, so this is DAY 18 for water & v's and Day 14 for exercise but...I'm not done yet. Have half my water down for the day and haven't done IF. Haven't been able to concentrate on things so took my free day Tuesday and will be doing my 3 mile walk this evening. Will report that tomorrow since it isn't actually done yet. But, day 17 is done for water & v's. Keep up the good work ladies! DOWNWARD!:carrot: |
Been meaning to get to this, but always forget!!
I have been keeping my calories around 1700 or so. The exercise isn't as good, but I plan on doing better this week. Will still WI tomorrow and post it here. I hope everyone is doing a great job!! |
Not sure if I'm the only one doing this challenge. If so, I may change it around a bit and start a new thread.
So if anyone wants me to continue this one, please let me know, otherwise I will be thinking of something new and starting that one sometime next week. Or if anyone has some suggestions on what they would like, feel free to let me know. Until then: Here is how I've been doing. Been keeping my calories around 1700 and have been on the gazelle the last couple days like a mad woman!! :D Neighbors may find me a lunatic if they looked in my windows!:dizzy: |
I'm in--My challenge for me is to go to SLim-n-Tone 3 days a week & drink my 6-8 glasses of water. I am going to get back into that and then add in the counting calories which I have never done--I did points at one time but never calories.

They tried to tempt me with carrot cake birthday cake--I told them that I am trying to lose my hips--not add to them!!
I have drank 1 20 oz water so far today along with my morning cup of coffee and a 16 oz unsweetened tea for lunch. I am working on another 20 oz water if you figure on 8 oz being a serving that will put me at 8 servings. |

Wasn't able to get my gazelling in today and work had cake and pizza. Cake and Pizza??? What are they trying to do to me?? Did I walk away from it?? NOOOOOOO.....I had a piece of each.:o I know...shame on me. There is always tomorrow. |
Marti--I got my water in and will be going to the women's gym when I am done here. You will never hear me tell you "shame on you" --you have benn doing really good on your gazelle and your calorie intake--one day of paizza and cake will not ruin it--now if you are having pizza and cake at every meal we'll have to talk!! I think saying we will never have a treat only leads to defeat of our goals.
