Default Friday!!

Hello ladies:

Catherine: I hope everything is ok. Post again soon and let us know how things are going. Our prayers are with you.

Serena: where have you been...still celebrating your big loss!! I still can't get over that, WW's is like that...you'll plug along at 1/2 a pound or something like that and then bingo, down 3.4 in one week! I remember years ago when I did it the first time I lost hardly anything the first week but lost over 6 lbs the 2nd week...what a great feeling that is when it happens...it reminds you sometimes you have to be patient.

Nori: You've lost almost 40 lbs, WOW!! I always get inspired when I read about you doing your exercise regularly. Thanks for sharing the photos with us. I looked at so many, your sisters are as pretty as you are and the photos of Hawaii were gorgeous. I need to organize my photos online on a website like that.

Kim: you mentioned a challenge a few days ago...how about we chart what we lose between 10/9 and 11/20 that's 6 weeks till just before Thanksgiving. Then the following 6 weeks will end on January 1, 2007 getting 2 challenges under our belt before the new year! With 12+ weeks we can all lose between 10 and 25 lbs easily prior to going into 2007.

Should we come up with some kind of prize? Who's in for the challenge, the 5 of us? Nori, Me, Serena, Kim, Catherine. How about the winner gets 4 little presents (inexpensive or handmade) from each of the others, or we could just do it for the glory and post our progress every Monday for the next 6 weeks. Give me some thoughts or some other ideas to make this interesting. Maybe this will draw some new blood back into the thread!1

DH said he'd put $10 in a kitty for every pound I lose. For my own incentive, I told him to put a minimum on it before I collected. We settled on $200 for 20 lbs. I'm thinking now I should have told him I wanted $25 a pound!

Have a great weekend. I'll be sure to check in to see if anyone has any challenge suggestions.

Morning ladies...

Serena wtg!! great weight loss... keep it going!!!

I guess I will count points until I find out what my caloric intake should be.. i will journal..yuck!!!
I will restart my exercise videos.. 2x a week to start.. then up to 3 by end of oct...

Mo.. I was ROFL at the visual of the wagon.. higher sides.. need seatbelts.. thanks for the chuckle.. Your DH and mine must email each other,... as soon as I start losing a few pounds he goes and buys candy and offers to me too!!!!

Nori.. I second that!! This is the 3 or 4th time i am back in the 230's... so no more 30's.. let's just erase those upper numbers like they are just not there.. our scales willonly weigh up to 229 for now then when we are in the 2 teens we will no longer recognize the 220's..like it's a fate worse than death to get back there! Like our very lives depend on not getting back up there.. heart blood pressure, fatty liver, etc... hmm maybe i can focus like that..

catherine glad to have you join the challenge...

CHALLENGE INFO
so i guess sun thru sat will be the week period... so this sun will start week 2 just like on the calendar.. you can weigh in whatever day you like.. basically we can report in each week but it must be from 10/1 thru 10/31 see who loses the most weight.. then we will start the thanksgiving challenge...
My official weigh in is 234.0
everyone officially weigh in here...your official start weight after the 1st... reember sun will start a new week each week we can chime in that week's loss and also total or if it was a gain then the adjusted total loss.. we will have losses... Best losses to everyone.. I want to "see" less and less of all of you..haha I hope to be at minimum , 226 by
10/31... I will bank for some candy... reeses my weakness....

food plan for today: pts
am: HB egg 2
snack: apple 1
lunch: homemade chilli (1.5 cps) 6
10 saltines(2)w/ 1 T sm balance(1) 3
snack: 20 grapes(1) and 1 oz swiss(2) 3
dinner: ?
snack:b4 8pm
2c 94%FF popcorn 1
1c SF FF jello 0
2-3 T FF coolwhip 1
so without dinner it totals 17.....so I can have 11 points for dinner...
I am making kids pizza not sure what i want yet but i will keep it at 11 points.. I like my night snacks after dinner...
This weekend I will probably use my flex points..

Default Hey

Hey,
This week isn't really going as well. I haven't gone over my points but I don't really have many weekly allowance points left and its only friday. I still have to make it to tuesday. I've just been extra hungry this week. not to mention a little depressed. Not sure why. Just have my mind wrapped around too much.

Default Friday Part 2

October Challenge info:

Kim: 234
Mo: 210.8
Nori: 224
Serena: 184
Catherine:

We've got 24 days left till 10/30....let's get moving and losing!!!

P.S. How much water to you ladies drink? I seem to be having a hard time getting down more than 40 oz in a day. That's not including my tea but I can't count that...right??

We girls should try to get together some night on a chat room somewhere...any ideas? I've never used one other than conversing with people while playing Slingo years ago but there must be somewhere we can meet and chat.

Default water

Mo: You can count one cup of tea a day towards water but I think that's only if it's sugar free.
I normally drink at least 48oz a day. but usually 56oz. It's tough cause I can't stand water but it's actually all I drink except for coffee during the day. But I usually add those wylers sugar free flavor things to my drink with my meals.

Mornin all...
Well I really flubbed last two days of the new challenge but back on track.. no more cookies in the house..not funny i know!
as far as the challenge technically this week starting today and the rest of this week is reporting in week one-two's loss.. I made an excel work book that if i could upload it somewhere we could all change and update the info on it.. anyone know how???

how about $3 per person literally mail it to winner I could probably even swing $5 but what do u guys think??? it may really motivate us and the winner gets a congrats note from each of us... any other ideas??
Catherine we need a starting weight for you from last week...
so chime back.. ok

One thing i did realize.. any of you get like this.. the other evening when i had all my points divided out for the night... i was on track and then I felt full before last 2-3 bites of my pizza.. very full.. I liked the taste that i ignored that and ate it anyway.. like i would be depriving myself if i did not eat it.. then DH came home with ciniese low mein..grrr. i had a small plate of that.. then later said what the heck and ate 10 cookies and milk!!!!
so i think my trigger to the binge was the initial eating past the full part it triggered oops i failed so what the ****.. any thoughts.. similarities??
so I am going to try to be more aware of that...

i am making a really big turkey dinner tonight.. just felt like it.. so i will allow for my points total and even crustless pumpkin pie.. yummy.. have a great OP day!!! Kim

Default Sunday

Hello ladies:

I hope everyone is having a great weekend. DH is away so it's very quiet tonight. The kids are at the neighbors but I expect them (and the neighbor kids) back shortly to watch a movie. Serena: thanks for the info on the water.

Eric Clapton and Robert Cray were GREAT last night. Our seats were up high but we still enjoyed it. I even won $150 at the casino on the slot machines so that paid for my ticket. I can't believe how much the concert cost!! Mohegan Sun is beautiful inside. It's only 45 minute away and I had never been to it other than a few minutes to check it out when it first opened and it's much nicer now. I can't wait to go back.

I held to my points even yesterday, at the casino I had a small frozen yogurt and around midnight I had half a sugar free muffin. I did have two beers so those will come from my bonus points. I'll have to look up their point value.

I like the money incentive but it may be hard to do with an online group, what do the rest of you think? I weigh in tomorrow and am hoping for 2 lbs for my first week back. I'm off for Columbus Day so I'll post from home in the morning after weigh in. Have a great night and talk to you all soon.

Default Week 1 Challenge results

208.2 so that's 2.6 lbs for me this week. I'm assuming my first two weeks will be good losses and then the hard part starts!
Does anyone know how the chat room works? Do you want to try to meet today or tonight sometime? Someone mentioned after 9, that's fine for me too. We could meet at 9:15 or 9:30 something like that.

Sunday:

B: tea
B: multi grain english muffin w/ butter/jelly 4
L: 6" subway sandwich 7
D: Special K (fruit & yogurt) 7
S: popcorn & 2 biscotti 7
I did ok on points but only 1 bottle of water

I'll check back later for more results and chat room info.

hi everyone!!
Well I too had a great loss.. -3 for me.. down to 231! ok well a challenge could be just what we needed... Congrats MO for your 2.6 loss!!! I agree.. online money might be hard being we don't really get to "see" each other.. well how about... if we see anything congratulatory or motivational to let the winner know just how proud we are of their hard work! I know a nice comment on how I look is worth more to me than monetary amounts.. if we want to exchange addresses we can physically mail stuff to each other.. I don't mind... maybe a nice card or motivating or encouraging note.. will keep us going into the next challenge...how about that to start with? How far apart are all of us... i live in delaware..
well i gotta run.. see all of u later

UGH. My new scale is accurate I'm assuming and this AM I weighed in at 232.2. I started to get so upset and then had a serious self-talk. Yes, it was TOM, yes, I'm in a lot of stress the past 3-4 weeks, BUT there's no reason to keep gaining. I had gotten down to 218 earlier in the summer. It's just scary that I can gain so quickly all while exercising almost everyday. I had some MAJOR binging last Fri-Sat. The worst I've had since last November, actually. I'm back on the wagon. I'm going to do what I need to do to get healthy. I hate that I'm back in the 230's...but at least it's not the 260's where I started. RIght?

From now on, I'll be posting losses and encouraging thoughts to myself and all of you wonderful ladies!

Hello Ladies! I don't know if you'll remember me I posted here a while back under "desert dreamer". For some reason once I came back I couldn't sign in and such, so just opted for new name.

I see there are some familiar faces still! Nori, Mo, and Serena. Kim, it's wonderful to meet you, I look forward to getting to know you and getting reaquainted with the other ladies. I've missed you guys! I had recently gotten back on the wagon and doing pretty ok and then I just started slacking off and am just struggling to keep my head above water. I sure could use your support and help motivating me to get this thing done already. I am so tired of being heavy!

Anywho, not alot going on over here. Just waiting for fall to decide to show up here in the desert. LOL Still dealing with 90 degree temps makes it not so festive.

Looking forward to catching up and cheering you girls on to some success! We can do this!!!

Hi Danielle! Nice to see you back on this thread again. Glad you are doing well. I share your sentiments exactly about being tired of being heavy. It is such a burden for me...mentally, physically, emotionally, spiritually. I'm more convinced than ever that success is about doing the small things that I know I should be doing, and doing them over and over...being consistant! It's not one of my virtues. But I know small successes add up over time. Just like small failures or deviations add up too. My summer has been full of small deviations from my plans and voila - I've gained some weight back. Chalk it up to a learning experience.

As far the the $ incentive thingy - I just dropped out of the Biggest Loser at work last week. I'd paid $30 so far into it. $ isn't an incentive for me apparently.??? But now I'm back on track, so maybe I shouldn't have quit? There was only 6 weeks left of it though, so I doubt I would have won anyways.

Let's start a new thead. PLEASE!! It can even be the same title - but like "The Diet Journey of 2006 #2". Or just "THE Buddy Group" or "Mission Possible" or "The Fitness Friends". Any ideas?

Mo - congrats on the good weight loss! As far as the chat room - I like the idea - am I the only PST gal? I'm 3 hours behind you. I'll pop in right now and see if anyone is there!
