bathing suit
The only time I"ve worn a bathing suit in the last 6 years is when I was pregnant because I knew most people wouldn't look at me and say look out fat, they would say, wow look how pregnant. I remember my husband telling me one time when we went to Charleston that if we went to the beach, if I put on a bathing suit he wasn't going. Doesn't really make for a great relationship. Of course when we actually did go. He ended up buying him a brand new bathing suit and went swimming while I sat in the hotel with the boys. He wonders why I have a hard time liking him anymore. That is actually why I would prefer a vacation to the mountains rather than the beach.

Hi ladies, I checked in late and have to leave soon. Nori: I'll drink a glass when I get home, thanks!!! Maybe I'll go grocery shopping and start dieting tomorrow???? I do have some lean cuisines in the freezer and some fruit at home. I really need some motivation.
Serena: Men can be so selfish at times, try not to let DH stop you from having some fun too. I don't worry too much about bathing suits on vacation because I figure they'll never see me again! My sisters are all over weight too so it makes it a little easier on our family vacation. It's DH's family that I worry about. They're very conscience of their bodies and in my opinion they over dress...just to go out for a few drinks at a local pub, you'd think they were in Dynasty or Sex in the City with their fashions, I dress casual and comfortable and they look at that as sloppy. DH used to try to get me to dress like them, I'd try to dress a little fancier but I would never give in totally, it just wasn't me.
I'll check back tomorrow and hopefully will be an official "dieter"!

Kim! Nice to "meet" you and hear about your plans! It's always a challenge to find something that works for us. Good luck!
I sort of share the bathing suit on vacation sentiment that Mo has. These people will never see my cellulite again. So I'll have fun. It's my friends & family that I'm soo embarrased to swim in front of. Plus I have 5 younger sisters who have great bodies. I eventually get over it when it's just too damn hot!
Hi Serena! Haven't seen you here in awhile. No comment on the DH comment. I've been meaning to ask if your boys are sleeping any better these days? I'm still up a lot (3 times) with my 1 year old, but my 2.5 year old sleeps through the night 99% of the time.
Sounds like a good plan to go shopping, Mo! It really is easier when you have lots of good choices around you! I know how it is though - I need to feel that "click" in order to get my butt in gear and go forward.
Hi everyone else! Hope you are all doing good.
I wanted to mention that I'm finding such good recipes on allrecipes.com Good, good food ideas. The Lime Chicken Soft Tacos are to die for and some other things too! We're havign those tonight though so they are on my mind!

Mo - you'll look lovely when you go to Ireland!!! And I bet in the 180s you can totally get in your 14s again. I'm hovering in the 190s, and I'm back into 1/2 of my 14s. Although, I really think clothing manufacturers should be forced to STANDARDIZE their sizes. Would make online shopping SOOO much easier!!! LOL
Nori - I think portion control and exercising work. That's what I've been doing, because I truly got out of the habit of counting my points.
Serena - that was so mean of your husband! Men must not realize how hurtful they can be! Good for you for looking for an alternative - like going to the mountains instead. However, after your 3FC journey reaches a certain point, I know you'll feel like a hot momma in a swimsuit again!
Kim - I'm the biggest fan of the Superfoods Rx book!!! It's amazing. What a great way to look at food as what we can do FOR our bodies!! And by the way, Welcome!!!
Nori - those recipes sound great! I'll have to try that site. I've only ever looked on recipezaar!!!!!!
Everyone have a great day. It may be a few days before I check in, because my littlest is having the tubes put in his ears tomorrow. But here's wishing everyone a great weekend filled with great choices!!!!!

Serena - if I remember corrently, you're not even "that big" by my standards!
I need to take a look at the Superfoods RX book. What other books have you been reading, Sarah? I hope your little guy's surgery goes smoothly tomorrow.

Sarah: Best of luck with the surgery, give the little one a hug from all of us I'll keep my fingers crossed on the size 14 shorts, I bought an 18 last night at wal-mart but haven't tried them on yet. Unfortunately, I'm sure they'll fit fine!
Welcome Kim, what is Superfoods RX?? Sounds interesting. I need to start counting points again. It seems when I stopped counting, I just went off the diet altogether.
Nori, thanks for the Willpower Dust! Unfortunately I had already eaten a danish for breakfast I don't know why I can't seem to get motivated. I'm really disgusted with myself.
Check in tomorrow. Mo

Mo- so what's a Danish? 300-400 calories for breakfast? That's NOT a wasted day. Maybe not on plan, but you can still eat a good amount of good food today and feel great about yourself! BTW - When I worked I hated it when people would bring in pastries in the morning. It's so hard to resist with a cup of coffee. I often wouldn't eat my "good food" until I got to work, just in case I had to adjust!

not that big
I'm about 190 so I guess I don't have as far to go as some but my stomach is the biggest part of me and I have to wear 18 and 20s just to make it fit around my waste. Plus after haven my lower abdomen cut open 4 times: once for a myomectomy and 3 times for c-sections my lower abdomen is really really really saggy. Even if I do lose all this weight I'm still gonna have that saggy pouch on my lower abdomen. Anyway, I hope everyone else is doing great. I have to admit I haven't done anything to help with my weight loss. I guess I got tired of answering to the husband about what I ate during the day While he sits on the couch and eats a box of cheez its. Anyway, I'll try to post more often and I've been trying to convince myself to get back in the routine.

Serena - (((HUGS))) It must be hard when DH has the attitude he has. Too bad he cannot "get on your team" and be encouraging. Maybe he "thinks" he is being encouraging by asking what you ate? It would make me feel like he was trying to be my parent and I'd probably rebel. Anyways, I hope you can find a place, emotionally as well as physically to get healthy for you.
I'm hanging on today to make sure I start June out strong. Exercised like a mad woman at the gym and have been drinking loads of water. But for whatever reason I have a headache today and feel like eating chocolate. (Old habit of headache=treat it with chocolate???) PTL that there isn't any in the house, or I'd more than likely be in trouble!
How'd the rest of your day go, Mo! For some reason I feel like I know you? It's liek you're so familiar to me or something!
Catherine - how are you doing? And the family?
Hope your little guy did well in surgery today, Sarah and that your nights are not too rough over the next week or so. Are they sore at all after surgery?
How are you doing Kim? Tell us more about you!
Danielle? Are you here?
Hello everyone else! I hope you are all lurking and will start posting again! We are almost half way through 2006!

Thanks for the info, Kim! I'm the oldest of 7 kids, so I know what your household is like! BUSY!! Anyways, I weigh every day also. I have huge flucuations during the week, so I always consider the lowest weight my true weight - that is as long as I know I'm doing what I need to be doing! Like today I weighed 225.5 - up 2 pounds from tuesday. It water. I'm being good! Who cares if it takes us a year. What's a year?

Friday
Hi ladies:
Nori: thanks for the inspiration. I ate bad yesterday. Today I made (some) smarter choices. English muffin, lean cuisine, granola bar, yogurt. If I can just keep it going. I'm uncomfortable in my 18's today which might spur me on to get back on track. I held up my 14's shorts today to my body and there's no way in **** I'd get them past my thighs. Depressing but hopefully incentive. I feel like I know you too, maybe it's because we both come from large families?
Kim, welcome (if I didn't already say that). Wow, 6 kids, God Bless you! We can do this together, I'm doing (or was) WW too let's share some recipes. I might try the key lime pie tonight, the recipe is on this site, it was SF lime jello, 3 WW lime yogurts, 1 FF coolwhip, and a Keebler reduced fat graham cracker crust. I just need to stop and get the yogurt. I'd love to get down to 150, such a magic #!! Exercise is not my strong point, it's right up there with going to the gyno or the dentist. I'm thinking about buying a hybrid bicycle something more comfortable than the one I have. DH says I just like buying new things and if I wanted to ride, I'd use the one I have. I just can't admit that he's right!
Serena: are any of the boys going to school next year? I forgot their ages. Did you have any luck finding the rickshaw thing? I've seen trailers but they only old two.
Sarah: I hope your little one is doing fine with the tubes. Check in when you can. I hope the house is coming along too.
I've got 7 weeks till Lake George, I just this minute am making a goal of 15 lbs by then. I was 198.8 on the scale today...just imagine if I had stayed on WW since Easter and continued to exercise...I probably could have been in the shorts No sense in looking back though is there.
Can you all give me an idea of what foods you make on a regular basis. This might help me when I go to the grocery store. Snacking is my big problem. DH keeps coming home with boxes of Milk Duds (my favorite) which I of course have been eating.
I can't wait to get out of these clothes today, I'm so uncomfortable. Well, I have a lot of work to do before I leave today. I'll try to check in over the weekend for some support. Wish me luck! Best of luck to all of you too.
Mo

Hey, Mo, is DH still dieting? WTH is he bringing home candy all the time for? That would be so hard for me too.
We eat a ton of chicken. Some beef. LOTS of Mexican. Minus the chips! Lots of salad and fresh fruit. If you want recipes here are a few of my new favorites from Allrecipes.com. You can modify most of them to make them low fat and scale down the recipe up or down to how many servings you need to make. I have made modifications to some of them and you can read that in my reviews - I'm MomTo2SweetPeas there too.
Lime Chicken Soft Tacos
Absolutely Ultimate Marinade
Cherry Chicken Lettuce Wraps
Chili Verde
Grilled Asian Chicken
Taqueria Style Tacos - Carne Asada - these are OUT OF CONTROL GOOD!! Takes a little time, but everything is perfect!
Try going to allrecipes.com to get some new ideas.
For snacks I try to balanced protein and carbs and fat. Otherwise I'm hungry in like 15 minutes! A little cottage cheese, some grapes and a couple almonds...or a cheese stick and a few crackers...

Monday
Hello ladies:
Nori: thanks for the recipes, I'll have to look for the chili pods in my local store and I've never heard of that cojita cheese, can I substitute something else? I love the allrecipes website, it's one of my favorites. I also saw one a few weeks ago that isn't as user friendly to use and doesn't have the great rating system but the recipes I tried was very good...I forgot what it was now! Anyway the site is called razzledazzlerecipes (now many low fat recipes but again you can modify)
This weekend went 50/50. I didn't pig out as usual but I did eat some milk duds again and Sunday I ate a danish for breakfast. Could have been much worse I guess. It rained most of the weekend so I cleaned out two closets and now have 5 more bags of clothes to donate. Last month I had 7! I tend to never throw anything out so I'm making progress. This weeks goal is to clean out under my bed, organize shoes and start doing pilates (now that all the clothes have been removed from my machine)
I'm keeping my eye out for a used hybrid bicycle. I am also going to start going tanning this week. I remember a friend of mine always said that a tan takes off 10 lbs! My nieces birthday party is tonight, I'll try to eat small portions. Hope everyone has a great week and some of our "old" friends pop in to say hello.
Mo
