eggs
cheeky chick: My father has had regular breakfast everyday that consists of 2 eggs, 2 sausage 3 toasts and occasionally bowl of grits. His collesteral was up so the doctor told him to cut back. So he started eating 2 medium eggs instead of large. Plus he threw in a bowl of oatmeal instead of grits. When he went back to the doctor and his collesteral was down the doctor asked what he had been doing and he told him he was eating 2 medium instead of large and the doctor said, "I meant cut back on the consumption of eggs all together but if that works I guess go ahead with it. So I would say if your not use to eating eggs on a regular basis and you start eating them everyday your cholesteral would probably go up. But cholesteral is not only food consumption but also genetic background.
Hey everyone: I've been MIA for awhile now. Not really doing much for my weight. As a matter of fact I've backtracked drastically. I"ve been eating what ever I want, when ever I want it. My husband and I went out to celebrate our 9th anniversary last week. Unfortunately it felt more like 2 friends going out rather than a date. We had fun it just didnt' feel like it should have.
I hope everyone else is doing well.

Hi ladies:
Catherine, wow it must have been very stressful for you to keep that knowledge of bulemia inside of you. I hope now that you've admitted it to yourself and others you will find the help you need. That's probably one of the biggest hurdles.
I have been bad eating still. DH keeps asking if I've gone off the diet and I say no but then I make sure I eat before he gets home so he doesn't see me cheating so much Sometimes I tend to eat way too much so that I don't eat later when more people are around. It's like a safety net I guess?
DD has just about mastered riding her new bike and I've gone for a ride with her the last two nights but just a mile or so because I don't think she's ready to go on the main road. I really want to ride further and my legs are up to it but my *** hurts so bad I have to stop. I even had a gel seat on the bike, maybe I need one of those fat lady seats!
I bought all kinds of fruit last night and then ate crap today I really need to get back in the swing of dieting.
This weekend is a soccer tournament so I'll be at the field for about 5-6 hours Saturday & Sunday!! I really wanted to see the DaVinci Code this weekend too.
Well I'm off to go pay for my latest bargains: two wing chairs I found at a used furniture store for my mom. It's to pay her for babysitting and her Mother's Day gift. I showed her a photo and she liked them I just hope she likes them as much in person. I also found a beautiful loveseat for $50 and a wrought iron patio set (couch, two chairs, end table, coffee table w/ all the cushions) for only $50! I'm going to give him a deposit on them till I can pick them all up. I know I should have patio or deck first but I can't pass up a bargain!!! I'm a shopaholic!
Have a great weekend, I hope Nori is having fun at her sisters and Sarah is having fun setting up the new house! Cheeky, I hope you had fun at mini golf, I haven't played in almost a year. I love playing because I can beat my husband at it

Hi Serena:
I most have been still writing my short novel when you posted. I hope you are well, we've missed you. How are the boys, did you have any luck finding one of those trailer thingies for pulling the boys?
Don't be a stranger, we're here for each other during good times and bad!

Tuesday
Well ladies, I know Nori is away but where is everyone else? It's been four days since I posted and still no one is here
I thought I'd be good for lunch and got a salad only to follow it up with a big Kit Kat I did play frisbee with the kids last night and will maybe go for another bike ride with the kids tonight. I got a bad sunburn on my face only on Saturday. The soccer tournament was 9 hours long!!! It was overcast most of the day but it cleared up and my face is starting to peel. It's this Irish skin
I'll check in tomorrow. Missing all of you

I'm back! We had a lovely time. The weather was gorgeous and since my sister has a pool there was lots of water time! Just doing the whole catch up thing here at home now with laundry, bills and the regular!
So, after the past few weeks of not being serious - I'm up .5 pound as of this morning. I'm ok with that. Even though I haven't been focused, it's not like I've been eating with abandon - which is what I normally do on vacation!
Catherine - kudos to you for admitting it and getting help. There's a good section here for eating disorders. I'm not saying to not post here too, though! I'm very interesting to hear how you are doing. Anyways, I visited that section here briefly after my last binge on those darn Preacher's cookies.
While I've never been "diagnosed" with an eating disorder, I know I do not have a healthy relationship yet with food. And while I don't binge as often as I used, they are still followed by a period of time where I deprive myself of food and/or fun and exercise for silly amounts of time - I've read that that technically is considered a "purge". It is a burden and I do long to be free from the power of food.
Mo - did you go see DaVinci Code? I want to. I LOVED the book!
Hi everyone! Hopefully we'll get going again here. I know summer is a busy time, but I know I need the encouragement and motivation I get here. We can do this! We all know how, it's just a matter of deciding to do it everyday!! And following though.

Hi everyone! Here's wishing everyone a great holiday weekend! Let's take the weekend to re-group and then on Tuesday, after the Holiday, let's all get back to our posting!
Let's get back to being serious about our journey to healthier selves. I know I slacked off, and here in the desert it's HOT, and I want to wear shorts without wondering why my knees look so freaky???? lol
See everyone on Tuesday!!!!!!!!!

Sarah - I'm not brave enough to do shorts this summer! The last time I was semi-comfortable in shorts was when I was round 200. And super tan! Maybe, just maybe, I can be there at the end of summer?

LOL-I'm sooooo not comfortable to be in shorts, either. I'm hovering at 195, and my knees look like some weird gelatin concoction!!! However, this desert is so hot, I give in and put the shorts on on the weekends. LOL
Nori - you will totally be there at the end of summer!
We're so going to be better from now on. No more excuses on my end!!!

I understand! We went to Hawaii a couple years ago and I was around 235 and I wore a bathing suit and even went snorkling. I won't let my body stand in the way of all my fun. But it is hard to just let go. In Hawaii it is nice because you can wear your sarong everywhere.

Okay everyone, it's Tuesday!!! The first day of our next leg of the journey! How is everyone?
Roll call! Check in!!!!
I am ready - I have picked out a video to do tonight when the kids go to bed. The kids and I have to eat dinner out because we're going out of town to my son's ENT dr, so we're going to Applebee's where I know there'll be healthy options!

Tuesday
Well I'm glad to see I'm not the only one still here!
Wow, today was a real wake up call. All this talk about wearing shorts I wear them but avoid passing a mirror if at all possible. I just realized it's only about 9 weeks until my vacation. Last time I went to Ireland I was in the 170's (after losing 30+ lbs). Everyone was saying how good I looked and if I don't lose some weight I'll be paranoid that they're all whispering (boy, she put it all back on didn't she!). I'm saying this of course after I just ate two bags of cookies of the vending machine at work.
9 weeks X 2 lbs per week is 18 pounds which could put me into the low 180's, probably not enough to get into my 14's from the last trip but I sure as **** would feel a lot better about myself and this trip. I haven't even booked our flights yet, hoping I'd be able to back out probably
Sarah, I'll try to get an exercise tape out too tonight if it's not too hot out. I went out for a smoke before and it was so hot and humid. I'm hoping for a thunderstorm to cool things off before I leave work.
Nori: I'm glad you had a nice time. The pool sounds nice. We're putting up an above ground one this year for the kids and maybe I'll get my butt into it for a little exercise.
Take care and everyone please keep reminding me to drink water. I should make little reminder signs and post them around.
Check in again tomorrow. Mo

I think you can lose 2 pounds a week until you go, Mo. Easily...especially since you've just been maintaining recently. After I maintain for awhile I seem to lose quickly for a few weeks until things even out again.
I was down another pound this morning to 223.5. Exciting to see the scale dropping again. I'm still not actually counting calories. Just watching portion sizes and exercing every day. If this doesn't seem to work as well for me I'll go back to counting calories like I was before.
