Maureen - I only have the WATP 3 mile express. It's great - First 2 miles are many different steps, kicks, knee lifts...and in the 3rd mile you continue wlaking fast while adding in a stretchy band for resistance training. I'm thinking to get the WATP for abs and maybe the WATP 2 mile Walk&Jog. The BL is more intense. I've had to back down on the lunges for a bit. They just irritate my knees, no matter how careful I am to keep my knees over my ankles. I can do them a cople times a week and be ok. BL has a good 20 minute weight/toning session.

Hopefully the site will not be down for long.

Serena - that's great loss!! As far as goals, we all do what works for us!! It just seems more attainable when I have smaller goals. It's not any different. I know that. Heck, I haven't met any of my goals yet...except for sticking to plan. We'll get there. I'm scared to set my Onderland goal for July because I think that's pushing it. My birthday in July 15th and I'd love to be under 200.
3 DAYS WITH NO REFINED SUGAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Donna - way to go on your workouts!!! I'm also kickin' it up this month.

Happy Friday everyone. Keep up the good work.

Default Got room for one more?

Hello All~

I would love to join the group here if that's alright? I could use all the support I can get.

I'm Danielle, 36 and married. I'm a SAHM of 3-ds13,dd11,dd9. I started my journey at the beginning of this year but only got real serious about it 2 weeks ago. When I wasn't losing I had to step back and assess(sp?) what it is I really wanted. Was I going to really do this and be fit and healthy by the end of the year, or was I going to mess around and come Xmas time wish that I had done the work and be heavier than before? I decided that I wanted the first option.
I've lost about 9 pounds so far and have been doing really well with exercise.
I do the Biggest Loser DVD and absolutely love it. On top of that I also ride my bike 6x a week. I have always claimed I hated exercise, but for some reason I am so loving it this time! Go figure!

Anyways, enough about me. I look forward to getting to know all you girls here. I think this is what I need, some laughs, friendship, and some support!

Have a great weekend all!

WELCOME DANIELLE! I'm sure you'll find plenty of support here. I know you can reach your goal!! Support really does make a difference, I think.

School has been extremely stressful this week.. and unfortunately I ate a LOT of junk food. I had almost zero time to work out unless I wanted to stay up until the wee hours of the morning finishing my work. I still think I managed to lose some weight.. maybe it was just water weight since last week was TOM. Tomorrow's weigh in will tell! Hopefully, next week will be a lot better and I will remain faithful to my exercise plan.

I'm gonna work on getting my pictures up on here.. Maybe I'll do it while I'm waiting for the site to be back up!

Hope everyone's well!

Oh yeah.. WELCOME to all the other newbies!

Talking how are y'all????

to all of the newbies!!! Well, I hope everyone is doing well! I just made some awesome grilled veggies on my George Foreman! I used the new Mrs. Dash 10 minute marinade. LEMON HERB PEPPERCORN! I marinaded green peppers, squash, zucchini and portebello mushrooms. They were great! I did not like the chicken in it but oh well. I have been trying new marinades. To add some flavor. Have not tried the ones in the Foreman cookbook yet, though. Does anybody have any good marinades for poultry and veggies?

Well, I have decided that I like to do squat/kicks a lot! I do them everyday if I do nothing else! I have kept up with my crunches too!

Katie, you can get away from the junk food! I know you can!

Desertdreamer,Way to Go Girl!

Nori, At least you are doing the lunges!

Serena, Great job! Hope we can all say that we have lost that soon!

Djpebbles CRUNCHES, CRUNCHES, CRUNCHES !!!

Maureen , where in New England are you from? I grew up in CT.

Well, I am sure I missed a few people! Hope everyone is well and keep up the good work!

Good evening ladies:

I went to Target right after work and bought Blast Away the Pounds with Denise Austin. I did the first mile and DD did the first two miles. The DVD was pretty good but doing it with DD was a bit of a challenge not to mention the dog that kept getting in my way.

Have a great weekend. Boy I started this post hours ago and just remembered before bed that I never hit submit! We're not into football so Sunday shouldn't be too bad. Everyone watch their football snacks!

Hey eveyrone and welcome to all the new ones. I have been doing very well and I think I am on track with the exercise. I got the full 30 minutes in yesterday and have have been getting up early during the week to get it in during the end of the week so I hope I can keep it.

I got the scale and it seems the old one was a bit off about 7 pounds so I am not too disappointed.

Calories have been in control and I got the George Foreman grill today to help with some quick meals.

I also gave up all sodas (even diet) a big weakness I know it effects me negatively and I was spending way too much money on sodas. If it is not water I am drinking iced tea, coffee (trying to get on all decaf with equal only) or low fat milk (limit to 1 cup a day).

So my goals for Feb is to get down to 275. A minimum of 800 minutes of exercise and keep going on the no soda kick.

Hope eveyrone has done well - take care.

Erin

Smile Good afternoon!

Hello everyone! Well, I definately got my workout yesterday! I rollerskated for two hours yesterday! I even did the Funky Chicken, YMCA, and Laffy Taffy on skates. That all added a few extra movements to what I was doing. My balance is getting a lot better. I skated approx. 10 miles!!!! Yoo-hoo! By a chart that I found, I burned approx. 1000 calories. ( that is 8.8 calories per minute for a 180 pound person skating moderately, I did speed up going around there quite a few times though ) This site gives an approx. cal. loss for different activities.

http://www.coolnurse.com/calories_burned.htm

I have found out that I can get a personal trainer at the gym here on thr university! I do not have to pay for the use of the facility. Just the trainer. It is actually quite reasonable, too! I just have to get my doctors permission. Which I know I will be able to get. I went to check out a Curves here in town and they had nothing there! It looked kind of depressing. I have my diet down. I would just like some more help with the exercise!

Erin, Soda can be the but you can do it! I broke down after 3 weeks, yesterday and had one. It was not as good as it used to be! I used to drink them all day long! The first few days will be hard but after that you can and will make it!!! I am proud to say I have had 64 ounces of water so far today!

Maureen, Best of wishes on your weigh in tomorrow! I grew up in Bridgeport and then in Naugatuck during middle and high school. I have family and friends all over the state. The majority of them in the Fairfield area. That is the ones that have not moved away or died unfortunatley. I have not been there since 1992.

Well, I am going to have later, but it is a South beach diet one with chicken, spinach and garlic on a whole wheat crust. MMMMMM!

Talk to all of you later!!!!

Yay! I can finally post again! I was sooo excited when I weighed in Saturday - 170!!! Down 3 pounds from two weeks ago.. I remember six years ago weighing 170.. so I'm going into uncharted territory!

Later this week, I'm going to be out of town for three days and I have to eat fast food for 2 out of the 3 meals.. The only meal I can make myself is breakfast because I will have a microwave and instant oatmeal I'm worried that I'm going to pick something that looks healthy, but really has like tons of calories. Any tips?

Catherine - Wow! That sounds like an excellent workout you had!

Maureen - DDR is my favorite form of exercise. I think it's really fun!

Erin - It sounds like you have a great plan. I know you can do it!

Hi all!

Erin - Way to go on giving up sodas. I haven't been able to do that yet. Once I get this NO sugar thing down, that will be my next step! I don't drink lots if it - but I know it's just totally empty stuff. What kind of scale did you get?

Katie - Congrats on 170!!! Must feel great!! Do you have Wendy's where you'll be? I really like their chili - it's yummy and balanced: small = 220 calories/6g fat and large = 330 calories/9g fat. I usually do not like fast food salads. The lettuce tastes funny to me.

Catherine - You go!! That's such a good workout!!

Maureen - I weigh in on Mondays too - keeps me accountable for my weekends, which is where I usually have had the most problems.

I have been "refined sugar" free for 5 days now!!!

Take care everyone! BBL...
