Well here I am wearing shorts and it is almost January. Does that make any sense? I didn't get another shirt for tomorrow. I figured I better just wear what I have. I will figure something out that will look ok. I am trying to get all of the info that I need to join WW next Wednesday. I am really ready to do something. I am just feeling so yuck right now.

Angie I wish I was up there with you right now. I want to be in the cold at least for a few days. I am a true southern girl though so I can't handle it for very long. I hope you are feeling better today.

I need to head back to the laundry we seem to have a huge pile of it.

WEIGH DAY!!! I lost 3 pounds this week.

Kempy, I am jealous that you get to wear shorts. It is so COLD here. My hands cracked yesterday because it was so cold and blustery.

Transplanted Southerner

I just moved from Texas to Maryland. I found that the cold here is a dry cold most of the time and when it is 40 degrees outside (a temperature that would have me shaking in my shoes in Texas) is actually pleasant weather needing a jacket but nothing else special. It's only when it rains or gets humid that I start freezing my butt off. We've had a few snow spells already and that has been like magic for a southern girl. It is the powdery kind so I can brush it off my car in no time. The days it is wet in the air, I put on some long johns under my clothes. That has been the only extra purchase I've had to buy. Cool beans.

Hey My Gurlz!!

Hope you all liked your gifts. I waited till the last possible minute to mail them and that's why they were late. I'm lazy and I'm sorry :( Anyways, time to catch up.

Angie- I am so proud of you, through all of these trials of life you are still melting those ounds away just like I knew you could. I am so so sorry about Tinky, God rest his soul. No one is more dedicated to animals than you are. You have no reason to feel guilty because you gave him the best possible life. Glad you liked the gift. I feel special that I get to be a part of your household decor :D You are such a sweetheart, Angie. Keep up the good work. And like Red said, Chin up, and keep it up!

Kempy- I Love Love LOVED the cheese. It's all gone now but I used it with so many things. My mother, who visited last week, stole the mix. I didn't even notice until I thought to try it out. My mom loves Bayou food. I'm sure she'd enjoy it more than me. Thanks again. By the way, I'm hatin' on you just like Angie. I wanna wear my shorts too:mad: Good luck with WW. You'll do great!

Red- If you PM me your address, I got you a gift also. You were so thoughtful to send that poem to Angie. I just love your spirit. You are an awesome friend.

CAl- glad you had such a festive holiday. So did I. I'm thankful for you too. We are such an excellent group, aren't we.

Noelle- OH MY GOSH  Not my precious boy! I want to hug him and give him a thousand kisses (Although he'd probably gag  ) He's just so adorable, I hate the thought of him hurting himself. Anyways, it'll be an awesome battle scar which I'm sure he'll love to show to his buddies. Funny thing but guys see scars as badges of honor. I can just see him now ( "yeah when I was a kid I hopped the fence and took a nice chunk out of my leg. Had to get 3 stiches!!" ) BTW, YAY skinny jacket! It feels so good to fit your old stuff when you lose weight. You are smokin' girl! You are going to have a fabulous summer.

J- Hello love! Glad you and your precious kiddos had a wonderful christmas. I bet they have the coolest toys. Can I come over and play?? You too will enjoy fabulous weight loss with the new year. YAY FITNESS! ( I'm so giddy today)

Okay girls, the New year is all about enriching our lives. You guys have greatly enriched mine. I couldn't ask for a better group. We all have been there for eacother and it kills me that I haven't met any of you face to face but that is my resolution. To meet at least 1 of you face to face. I am also chalenging myself to be bikini-ready by spring! LETS DO IT!!

Hey guys. Today is the big cleaning day. I am so amazed at how much this new vac. has cut my celaning time in half. I swear I will stop talking about it now.

DS what part of Texas are you from?

Dips I just loved that cheese. I bought the place out of the gators. I swear those packs of mix really help with cooking. I don't think I could make anything from scrath anymore. You will have to tell me how you mom liked it.

I hope all of you guys are doing great today. It is already Jan 1 over by you Red. Did you do anything fun? We are heading over to a few places tonight but thankfully they are all close to home. Two of the are right next door. No need to drive. The other one is about 1/2mile away.

Ok, back to cleaning. I was letting the floors dry b4 I started up again. I hope you all have a great New Year if I don't talk to you later.

Just wanted to let everyone know that we got back yesterday afternoon. We had a great time in CA, but we didn't make it to Disneyland. I promised Ashley that we'll go back to go to Disneyland over MLK holiday. We did go to San Diego and most places around Southern CA. The first day was great, but I got sick after that and I am still sick. We got home at 2:30 yesterday and I got a Dr. appt for 3pm. I have a severe sinus infection and was put on antibiotics yesterday and I don't feel any better today. The medicine is strong; I had to take 2 pills yesterday then 1 pill a day for 4 days. I'm still running a low grade fever (last night it was 101), but it's mostly staying around 100. Obviously, we won't be partying tonight (Hubby has to work until 11:30 anyway). My sister was great because she took Ashley for me today so I could rest. I told her that was her birthday present to me. The best one I could have!!

Dips: Thank you so much for the gift. The mailman tried to deliver it on Thurs, but we weren't home. I picked it up today and told my husband that the timing was perfect because I got it on my b-day.

I'll post again later when I'm feeling better.

Happy New Year everyone!!!:newyear:

Well, I was able to get a good run in today, after recovering from last night. Got to the gym in time for a 6K run. Usually I do 5K but went for 6 for 2006! Gotta work tomorrow too so I won't be able to make it to the gym as they are on short hours for New Year's. I really hope I can whip this bod into shape this year.

cal -- Sure hope you're feeling better. Is Ashley your daughter?

Kempy -- Hi there! I worked last night on New Year's Eve. I worked day shift but hung around drinking in between deadlines with a guy on night shift. I was going to head home about 9:30, but then decided to go with him and his girlfriend and friends down to near where he lives near the beach down near Kamakura, which is southwest of Tokyo. We celebrated midnight in some bar, then went down to a beach bar with dancing to some like trance music, going hard steady. It was cold out but they had wood charcoal burning outside and it was nice sitting around it staying warm when the music inside got too much. Planned on watching the sunrise over the ocean but my friends all left around 4 a.m. and I needed to crash at their place, so went with them. As it turned out, it was an overcast morning so there was no nice sunrise, so I didn't miss anything. So, it was an interesting night.

As for my Christmas, I was working then too, but at the racetrack for a big race. That was good and after writing my story I met up with an owner I knew and he invited me out for some beers, so it was a good day. I don't mind working, just as long as it's a bit special.

And Kempyd, you are fine with words. I don't think you ever sound "juvenile" at all. So, how'd the cleaning go?

Dips -- Again, thank you so much for your kind offer! :spin:

Angie, jbbm, how are you all doing? DeafinlySmart, are you a new member of this thread? I don't think I've seen you before... Noelle, thanks again for the wonderful gift.
