Good morning ladies!

I purchased a new home computer with my bonus, and still have lots left to put into savings--hopefully for a return trip to England in the spring, or possibly a trip to Vegas in February. I'm also sending some to one of my sisters who lost her husband last Christmas and has had some struggles. I want to send it anonymously though...still trying to figure out how to do that. I can't mail it from here because it will have a Florida postmark. I might have to send it to my other sister who lives in the same town, then have her send it out.

Will check in later!

Kimberley: Does Howie have a template for the charts you all use on his site? I think it is a good one!

Thanks, you guys! Jen, if you write to him from the link at his website, he'll be glad to send you the file.

Ohhhhh, I ate stupidly yesterday. We spent the afternoon and evening with our best friends and just fell into old habits. She made baked spaghetti topped with cheddar cheese, plus a salad and bread. We could have done just fine, but didn't. After we left there hours later and hungry, we got pizza. I'm feeling down today, thinking about how easy it is to slip into old habits. Blah.

Tomorow will be better, and I am on track today. Like last week, I'm going to adjust my calories down to make up for going too many calories over on my treat day. At least I only had the ONE treat day this weekend - that's a step in the right direction after the last three weekends of food porn!

This process is literally a meal at a time, isn't it? That seems like a more attainable goal to eat right at each meal rather than a whole week or a whole day.

Just think Kimberley! You could be at your drivers license weight by Valentine's Day!!

Valentine's day...That would be cool. Man, I am so sleepy today -- don't think I'm gonna last. The chiro suggested I sleep on my back with a good support beneath my neck. I just don't sleep well on my back, so the sleep's been bad the last several nights. Plus all the running around visiting is kind of taxing to a homebody like me. I am very social and enjoy myself when out with people, but it's not the norm for me to be on the go every day of the week like I've been these last two or three weeks. My bed is sounding sooo good today, maybe I need to catch some ZZ's after all. Then tonight I can do more contract work after I'm less zombie-like.

Howie's last day at work is Thursday, a week earlier than he'd originally scheduled. Since our family doctor had seen him about his back, her writing him out early will go on the disability claim. Woo!

Friday we have plans to go to Easton Mall with friends from the coffee shop, and with a wheelchair, Howie will be able to participate and enjoy everything with us. We should be getting a call back from a local church which has wheelchairs to loan out. It'd be great to have one to take with us in the van so we didn't have to use the mall's...I can't imagine having to park in the parking garage, schlep down to the building where they have the chairs, go all the way back to the van, etc. Plus this mall is a combination indoor/outdoor one with SO much to see you have to drive your car to different areas.

That's a good idea Kimberley--the wheelchair makes the most sense. I don't think I have heard of anyone loaning them out for free, so that is definitely a bonus!

Sorta OT:

I have to admit, when I go to Wal-Mart and see people so obese they have to use a motorized scooter to shop with....it scares me. I do NOT want to be one of those people. But I know that unless I change my ways, that is my destiny. I do not want to be a burden on anyone if I become disabled for some reason.

I can relate, Jen. And I'll tell you, for years, Howie's been someone who would benefit from using one of those scooters or carts because of his back - but he very seldom would use one because he didn't want to look like "just another fat guy who couldn't walk". People would assume it was his weight making him use it, not a "legitimate" injury. He was the same way about getting a handicap tag, though now he realizes the need for one. That reminds me, I need to call the doctor's office and find out how to get one.

I'm on the prowl for replacement filters for our humidifier. We bought it online, a big Bemis console model that puts out 12gal. water every 24 hours. No one sells the refill wicks or filters here, though. It was my choice to buy online, and now I'm forever shopping deals come wintertime. I think I may buy a 6-pack of wicks this time, but may just vacuum the air filter part to keep using it.

Hey, now, where is everyone? I miss Aimee's nighttime posts...*sniffle* C'mon back, Aimee!

Turns out the Ohio BMV has PDF copy of the handicap tag application form (a.k.a. more politically correct "Application for Disability Placards") online. I just have to print it out and have Howie complete it and fax it to the doctor's so she may write a prescription for the tag, uh, placard. That's easy enough!

I miss Aimee's posts, too

Well, I had a phone interview for a new job yesterday afternoon. It was short (about 15 minutes), but I think it went well. She said they will be scheduling in-person interviews after the holidays because so many people are on vacation for the next 2 weeks. She also ended the call by asking me if it still sounded like a position I would be interested in, so I take both of those as signs that it went well. I mean, why woudl she explain the next step of the interview process if she didn't want to have me back--wouldn't she just have thanked me and said something like, "we'll get back to you." I hope I get an interview--the job pays a LOT more than I'm making right now and sounds much less boring

Morning gals!

Jilly, good luck with your interview! More money is always a good thing. What kind of job is it?

Kimberley, how long will it take for the placard to come through? I figure since it was a government thing it wouldnt be too fast!

And where IS Aimee? I've seen posts on other parts of 3FC,but not here!!

Alan leaves tonight for Richmond, Virginia for a job interview. This may sound pathetic, but tonight will be the first night we've slept apart since we've been living together, and I'm a bit anxious about that! How crazy does that sound??

Talking Hhheeeellllooooo!!!

Well, Hello there ya'lll...I am so sorry I have been MIA for several months...Where to begin...hmmm...well, my only excuse is this, for a few months I took time to stay away from the PC and to sew and spend time with the DH...My website has almost sold completely out a couple of times, and I have had to really sew sew sew...I slacked off a bit in the diet/weight loss area...though I am under 300 now which is a good thing, never thought I would see that happen lol..I am making it my personal plan to work on ME in 2006 , and not give a hoot about anyone else's problems or anything that could affect me in a negative way...I have also had 2 miscarriages since my last post, and come to find out that I am Peri-Menopausal, at 38, yup...since I have had no children as of yet, my body has completely wacked out on me, and now I am taking Estroven to get my Hormones back on track...Heather is now pregnant, and is due in July...Lucky her I guess..She is having financial difficulties and is rarely on her PC so this is why she has also not been around...We went to Florida for Thanksgiving, and discovered that my father is slowly dieing now...He has the same problem my grandmother died from, and is slowly starving to death...He has a blockage in the esophagus, and unless he chews the heck out of his food, it will not go down...His heart is too damaged from years of abuse, and they will not do anything for him...He should be force fed with a tube, but who wants that, so he is at home and taking it one day at a time...I doubt he will be here another year...but he is 88 now, so he has had a long life...I guess that is basically that...the long and the short of it so to speak...I am so busy sometimes, and then I get periods with nothing going on...like today...I have skimmed through everyone's posts since July...Kimberley you look just AMAZING to say the least...I have a rod fused to my spine and went thru extensive reconstructive surgery to fuse the rod and fix two ruptured discs, so I can relate to the whole surgery thing...although I was laid up for over a year, and had to wear a body brace and use a walker for quite sometime after that...this was almost 14 years ago now...Aimee, you are too pretty, girl...and everyone else, I am back!!! won't be here every single day, but I will not take such a long break from now on...Missed ya!!

Kimberley, I wanted to say again
CONGRATULATIONS ON ENTERING ONEDERLAND!

You're an inspiration for a lot of people, including me.

It's been a long time since I went to a real mall. You all should enjoy that. My brother got one of those placards, since he screwed up his knees so bad he has real trouble walking. It's made life much easier for him.

I don't think it's ot to talk about scooters. When I got to 320, actually it was 330, I had a hard time walking a long city block and using the subway. You're here, Jen, posting and working on it. If there's any way I can help you, let me know. (BTW, if you had told me then that I'd be working out at a gym, I would never have believed you, heh heh). It's not pathetic that you'll miss Alan! I have a tough time sleeping apart from Rob. You kind of get attached to these guys

I bet Aimee would appreciate PMs if you miss her. She's really a good person with a great heart. I know on message boards it's not always so easy to convey what you need when you need it.

Good luck with the job interview, Jill. Sounds exciting. It sounds to me like she's interested in interviewing you in person. If not, she probably would have said thanks for your time, or some such.

DIANA!! I'm so happy to see you again. Missed you, woman! I'm so sorry to hear about your miscarriages. Your poor dad, I had an uncle that died of Lou Gehrigs disease, and that was really a tough ordeal for his family, he couldn't keep food down. I'm glad to hear your website is doing so well. I buy stuff all the time on the internet, you might want to post your link again or PM it to me. Kimberley does look great, doesn't she. and Aimee's a cutie pie. Keep us posted as often as you can, and tell Heather I said hello and CONGRTULATIONS My cousin in PA couldn't have kids, she ended up adopting three adorable girls. They're such a happy family. Rob and I have talked about that possibility for us too, in the future. I wouldn't feel comfortable having a baby at my age (41). We'll see.

There's a transit strike here in NY. It's chaos. Plus just trying to get work done, and all the Christmas chores. I signed up to do volunteer work with a local organization that helps immigrants pass their civil exam for their citizenship. I'll be intereviewed in January. I'm really excited about it.

Take care, ladies. Enjoy the holiday celebrations and spirit.

It *sounds* like we just have to bring the application and scrip from the doctor into the BMV office, pay $3.50 and they hand it to us. I hope that's how it goes - be nice, wouldn't it?

Did you see Howie's reached 245?! Wowzers!

Oh! Y'all posted while I did. Great to see you Diana! I didn't realize you'd had the back surgery and all, or if I did know...Well, they say the memory's the first to go. LOL Sorry to hear about the miscarriages...And also your dad. That's got to be rough to see happening to him. I'm in the same perimenopausal boat. Fun, fun!

Marge, I missed your post, too. Thank you! I'd love to see NYC sometime, but I am so scared of it. I guess I've seen far too many crime dramas and movies...Big cities scare me. Columbus isn't too bad, but NYC just seems like this big looming bohemoth. As a local, you know the safe places and what to watch for. Me, I'm a big ol' gullible puppy. LOL!
