hi

hi singles! i don't know what happened to it, but i did post last weekend. it must have gotten lost in cyberspace....

sheri - as i posted before, i am saying prayers for Paco! did you watch the family biggest loser show last week?? tonite is a couples show. they are just one niter specials that cram several months into 2 hours. the one mother on last week looked like a whole new woman. she lost 81lbs. amazing!!!

meg - congrats on you new motivation. i too have the new year motivation thing going on. i have been eating really good and i just walked on the treadmill for the first time in a long while. i feel better already just from cutting all the junk food out.

i do have a banquet to go to this weekend. i am going to formulate some kind of plan before i go. maybe just to take a small serving of the things i never get and only make one trip to the buffet.

well, i have to get upstairs to watch my show. will check back soon! have a good thursday!

IT'S FINALLY FRIDAY!!!

Work hasn't really got off the ground yet (and my pet engineer is only back on Monday) so I've had very little to do this week. I have spent one day typing and the rest just sitting around twiddling my thumbs! Yesterday was the worst - I thought I was going to fall off my trolley I was so bored!!! Have got a book and three magazines today.

I am still sticking to the diet and exercise schedule, although I was reading about my suggested heart rate yesterday and tried to get to a 'moderate' rate last night on the bike - and couldn't even get close!!! My workout was a bit shorter than usual, but I pushed as hard as I could and just couldn't manage it!!! Even so, I do feel like I've lost some more weight - even with TOM!!

Tomorrow we go and sign our lease for the new flat - Yay!! Will start packing in earnest so that I can find my floor again - it is covered in books and junk at the moment - occupational hazard with me!!

Our new secretary is popping in later so I can start to show her the ropes so let me go and collect myself.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend (It seems to have stopped raining now after almost a week of solid rain - but we do need it!)

Meg

You back home now, Kath? Glad you had a relaxing time in Fla!

Yes, I did see the first Biggest Loser special...the family one. It was REALLY good and I think I actually got more invested--even though you had a much shorter time to get to know the participants than in the regular season--because they came into the ranch already bonded and pulling for one another. That made it a really special experience. The before and after on both families was quite amazing!

The new episodes of "Lost" started up this past week so I didn't get to see the fiances Biggest Loser special and won't be seeing the one coming up this week either. When Lost is in new episodes, it wins out over most anything! :)

New Year's motivation is always a welcome thing. I'm finally seeing the scale moving---in the RIGHT direction for a change--so that is a wonderful thing.
Congrats on your WW success, Meg.

hi

hi singles! how goes it?? not a whole lot to report here. my motivation is still here. i did slack a little over the weekend because of the banquet i went to, but i enjoyed myself so it was worth it. i lost 1.6 lbs at my weigh-in monday. that made me happy. i am trying something new along with my tops group this week. we are following a diabetic carb counting regimen. it really looks like most others just from a different point of view. i'm always counting something or other. lol!!!

sheri - i'm glad you are seeing the results you want. keep up the good work!!!
i have never followed "lost", so i don't know a lot about it. the couples biggest loser is ok, but i think the one girl has an attitude that doesn't fit the norm for that show.

meg - please don't fall off your trolley...i don't want you to get hurt. lol!! good work on the exercise. i can't get to that heart rate either. i am too out of shape. right now i am focusing on trying to make it a habit. 1/2 hour a day for now to start, then i will build it up.

well, have a happy humpday! keep up the motivation!!!!

hi

hi singles! looks like we need a boost to the front again. how is everyone?

i wrote in my last post that i was trying something new with my tops group. so far, so good. i took it one step further and went to the website calorieking.com and surfed a while. there was a lot of support and lots and lots of good info so i joined. it was $30 for a year (using code NEWYEAR). there is lots of stuff you can visit for free. just thought you might want to check it out.

i am off to a very belated xmas get- together today. we had to put it off because my friend's dad hasn't been well. he has good spells and bad spells.

i hope everyone had a great week!

Congrats, Kathy!

I've been taking a course since the first week of January on Barnes & Noble University (online) called Best Year of Your Life given by author Debbie Ford. It's a really good course for the first of the year, because it feeds into that feeling of renewal and new motivation many of us seem to feel around that time of the year. The "You can DO it!" enthusiasm. There are like 2500 people signed up for the course so the message traffic is overwhelming, but I'm trying to keep going with it. I really need to turn things around.

Looks like we've lost the other folks again, Kathy. I realize I'm not posting much myself anymore. I keep forgetting to send my password to work so I can get back on there...but the reality is that I've been so busy at work that even if I did, chances are I wouldn't be able to post much from there anyway. As it is, I check in once a week from home and even then sometimes I forget about the site altogether because there are so few posts. It's frustrating when I'm used to another site that has a dozen and sometimes two dozen new postings per day. What I'm looking for is to give and receive support but if you can't get a group together who is willing to stick with each other, you can't have a support group. That said, I have always appreciated your support, Kathy, and hope that you have felt supported by me as well.

hi

hey sheri! i totally agree with you and have been thinkin' the same. i have learned a lot from you also and i appreciate it. i have been posting over at the other site i mentioned in my previous messages. it's not so groupy, and you can post on any subject you want. i have just been poppin' in here because i am a diehard with a lot of hope. i think it is about time to put our thread to bed. i hope all goes well for you and maybe we will catch up on another thread. good luck!

meg - should you pop in, the same goes to you. i wish you the best!

have a great week!
kathy

Well, Kathy, it certainly can't be said that we didn't give it the old college try! We've been keeping this thread going for well over a year...I know because I recall we've been through two Christmas seasons together. I appreciate your support greatly and wish you the very best. I don't remember what other board you post on, but I can always be found in the fan forum on www.kathleendaelemans.com.
