Hullo... thanks for posting the new thread, Coley!

So, things are going "so far, so good" for me right now. Today is my official weigh in day and I am down another pound (actually pound and a half, I was 269.5 last Weds). Thanks to lots of good support on these forums (and from my beloved) I have been able to convince myself to exercise every day. I did six days last week, took Sunday off, and have done both Monday and Tuesday exercise this week. I will be heading off to do my morning routine in a little bit, as soon as breakfast settles.

It's funny, I'm not used to doing well on diets and I'm not used to being happy. I almost feel guilty about not being miserable. How twisted is that? I guess I just always have to have something to complain about... I'm a hypochondriac at heart and I just need something to be wrong. Hehehehee... how stupid...

oh well... Happy Wednesday all!

-Lala

PS: Ves, if you pop in here, I saw you posted a couple pounds down on the end of the previous board. Congratulations!

Happy Thursday!

I'm off my normal exercise routine a bit today, but I have done tons of housework instead. I'm wiped out! My mother in law is coming this weekend. She is coming to cat-sit her grandkitties while we go on vacation next week, so I'm trying to get everything straightened up extra well. Plus, the room she normally sleeps in has gotten rather cluttered with boxes and boxes of... well, junk, really. So I had to clear all of that out and dump most of it in my husband's "office" - that's where he keeps his junk!

What a busy end of the week it's going to be! Today was moving boxes and scrubbing the bathroom and general pick up (ya know, that stuff that just starts to pile or sit there when you quit paying attention). Tomorrow will be dusting, vacuuming, swiffering, and mopping everywhere. Saturday will be Ultimate Laundry Day, then Sunday will be packing... Makes me tired just thinking about it. At least I'll be too busy to think about being hungry!

Hope everyone's having a swell day!

Hey la la... congrats on the house cleaning! I hear ya on the stuff that just accumulates when your not paying attention! We just bought a new dyson vacuum and my hubby loves it, so he has actually vacuumed the last 3 days! LOL Works for me! So where are you going on vacation? Anywhere fun and exciting?

Happy cleaning the rest of the week, and hey while your cleaning, turn on the radio and dance a bit when no one is looking... Now thats a workout!!

Have fun and keep on movin!!

Our house gets a lot tidier too when my fella's mum is coming!

My 4 pound loss seems to be sticking so I'm chuffed to be down 32 pounds now! Am working on the next one.

Had a really cool thing happen in the gym. I've only been going a month or two. I went on this machine after this very fit looking woman and had to put the weight up! I know she could be working at a lower weight for some reason but still it gave me a little rush thinking I was actually getting somewhere!

Anyway well done everyone, lets keep going. x

Happy Friday! (Isn't that great!)

Coley - it's those little moments that make this all worthwhile, sometimes even more so than the scale stuff, as there's so much emotional crap that comes with the scale. The NSV's are just pure joy!

Princess - Oh how I wish my husband would discover that he loved vacuuming. Well, he did get me a Roomba, but we have so many computers and electronica that there are too many wires around to use it in the living room. I love it on my kitchen and dining room tile, though, especially with four very hairy cats to clean up after! Anyhoo, we're going to visit my father in Virginia. It should be really nice there, he's up in the mountains. It's the most relaxing place we go. They even have a little separated "artist's cottage" type place that we stay in so that sleeping and bathroom arrangements are less nervewracking.

As for the diet, we are taking the dumbbell set and the scale. We obviously can't take the elliptical, but there will be walking aplenty in the splendor of nature! Food should be okay, dad's girlfriend is an all-natural health nut kind of gal, so no one will be pushing us to eat garbage. We're packing fruit and water and low-cal snacks for the drive, and are considering packing at least lunch. We'll have to stop for dinner, but if we plan ahead we can probably find something that's not fast food.

Wow, I've gone on way too much... sorry for the long post!

Have lost another pound. Hurrah. Am under 270 now which is good. Long way still to go but I like that its moving downwards!

Lala - An artists cottage in the mountains? Sounds wonderful!

Hope everyone else is happy. Am reading 'Thin for life' at the moment to make sure I'm never putting this weight back on!

Good morning!

Congrats, Coley! Those "little" milestones are the greatest, aren't they, when that middle number changes? What I'm really looking forward to is changing the first number from a 2 to a 1, but I can't think too much about 65 pounds from now. I just keep that in the back of my head, take it out every once and a while to dream. Mostly I am just thinking about 263, and a bit about 260.

Thumbs up

Congrats la la for getting into a new number range!

Well my weigh in this weekend showed that I stayed the same... AGAIN! Still at 195, but I did go to the dr. and he is sending me for labs so maybe I can get my meds straightened and give my body the jumpstart it apparently needs!

So how about we all set a mini challenge for ourselves this week?? I will even start it off....

My challenge for myself this week will be: Walk at least around the block 3times this week.... Even if it rains! Or snows in our case here in Michigan!

So let's go ladies.... What are you going to do this week!!!

Thanks everyone for the congrats.

Lala - I occasionally dream about the 100's too...what a wonderful dream! But I think it seems so overwhelming thinking of losing so much. I like thinking of losing 10 pounds and keeping that as my immediate goal then by next year some time I'll be in the 100's..hopefully!

Princess - sorry things have stalled. Very frustrating but it sounds like you have a good attitude to it - find out what's going on and sort it out.

My challenge for the week? - Am ill again (this time with a mini cold and bad ear ache) so I must be worn out. Must be all that nursing I've been doing! Anyway I havent gone to the gym today because of it but I intend to go wed and fri..so let that be my goal - gym wed and fri.

Ok, got my walk in for the day... Hubby and I walked to the library to pick up a tax form instead of driving! 1.5miles round trip... It started to rain a bit on the way back, but fortunately I didn't melt! This weather here has been crazy... it's 70 here right now... forcast for tmrw.. 36 and snow!

So I got my walk outside, and I did 1.5mi on the hand bike at physical therapy today too! On walk down, two to go!!

Let's get movin ladies!!

Hey Princess good for you for on the walking. Sounds like wierd weather!

Am failing on my goal. I'm even off work today! My ears are just killing me..when I lie down its like little evil pixies are stabbing me with their tiny pixie knives...so sleep is out of the question! Am off to the doctors today to see if they can do anything.

However I'd still dropped a pound today. Is coming off fast at the moment! Probably losing all my muscles as I'm not managing to get to the gym! Damn those pixies!

Default Happy Monday!

Hi all! Back from Spring Break and trying to get back into my normal routine... The "I don't wanna's" are tackling me, but it's Monday and time to get back to work! The trip was good, traffic was horrible! Everyone was leaving Florida on Monday after Bike Week, plus the "Snow Birds" were starting to migrate back up north, too - wall to wall RV's and trailers on the road. Coming back wasn't much better... Spring Break traffic heading TO Florida, I guess. Lots of accidents, both ways... meh!

Anyway...

Coley- Poor thing! I hope your pixies leave soon... ear aches are horrible!
Princess- Good job on the walking, that's a good goal...

My plan for this week... not to skip any days of exercise. I didn't do too badly last week while we were gone, but I did allow myself to be a bit too lazy. The other part of the plan would be not eating out at all during the week. Dad took us out for dinner almost every night last week, plus bad food on the road, ugh. I really need a break and need to cook at home.

So, I hope everyone had a great weekend and is ready to rock this week!
