Amazing but true!

:carrot: I am back from my WI and am down -4.8 lbs! :carrot: I don't know how and I don't know why, but it's freakin' amazing. The last time I was on WW ('03?) during Thanksgiving I lost 3.8 lbs and I was ecstatic about that, but this one takes the cake. I guess my metabolism is finally getting the jump start it needed. Thank you girls for your words and well wishes, they certainly help me to stay on track.

Red, Good to see you posting again. This time of year is tough for some, maybe it's the winter blues? PMS sucks for sure. I hope your spirits are lifted soon. PCOS stands for polycystic ovary syndrome, where your ovaries produce mature eggs but do not release them due to a hormonal imbalance, causing cysts to build up in the ovaries. Sounds like fun, huh?

I gotta run and pick up the boy from school. Ciao!

Congratulations!!!

Noelle, that is fantastic!! :cp: :woo: How did you ever manage to lose nearly 5 lbs?! You must have been doing really well with your eating and exercise. Please send me your strength and determination!! :sunny:

angieME 11-29-2005 07:12 PM

WOOHOO NOELLE!!!! :carrot: :cb: :dancer: :woo: :high: Wow, You are actually melting away girl!! Great job!!! they should have a melting snowman smiley for this.

Red, I hope your spirits get lifted while on your trip. I get down during the winter myself and I hate it when it happens.Luckily everyone here is awesome for lifting my spirits.

Well, I have been good with my eating today and I will have gotten 45 minutes for a workout in so hopefully the night time muching doesnt get to me tonight. I wanted to chew so bad last night....I didnt do it but boy was it hard.

Noelle, I have been meaning to ask you if maybe a recumbent bike would be good for you where your knees are acting up on you. I bought mine from Kmart for $100 and I love it. I can do it while I am watching tv and it is comfy to sit on.It doesnt take up hardly any space because I am so short that is pulls almost all the way in. I went and bought an expensive one from Sears last winter and it sucks. I think the cheaper the better. At least when comparing the 2 machines.

Hi Girls

Noelle :bravo: :cheer: that is so awesome about the weight loss! I wanted to tell you I have been on bc pill since about sixteen years old because of ovarian cysts. They get to the size of grapefruits and at that point just bursts....one time that happened to me and the doctor thought it was my appendix, did the surgery come to find out it was my ovaries again. So I have been on bc to keep the hormones in check. I hope you are okay, are they going to do and ultrasound to check for cysts? Hugs girl, female problems are a b*tch!!

Are any of you girls getting your kids flu shots? I don't know if I should or not. They are saying for those 6 months to 23 months or a child high risk like with diabetes or asthma or the elderly.

Angie aren't the nights hard time to keep out of the snacks? Most of all when my entire family is sitting around munching! I am going to try and catch some of the biggest loser tonight for some extra motivation. Stay strong....you can do it!

Red hope you are feeling better soon. Pms is a terrible thing. I dread it every month! Good thing about it though is it passes. Take care of yourself.

Miss you Cherie! Come back soon and chat when you can:)

I made chili and put it in the crockpot. I made cornbread muffins too. I also had some ripe bananas so I made dd some banana bread. She just loves the stuff. I won't have any of it. I feel like I have been cooking all darn day! Oh well. I got on the treadmill today for about 15 minutes. That is better than nothing. Well sweeties time for me to get off the computer. Hi to all I missed!
:)

redballoon 11-29-2005 08:03 PM

Heh guys, thanks for your kind words. jbbm, actually, I must have been unclear. I'm not PMSing now! :lol3: I was just thinking of how it aggravates things and gets me in such a slump...I mean, there are major problems in my life...debts!!...and the PMS just makes them seem even worse. It's not that everything looks rosy otherwise. It's just that the bad becomes really bad and immobilizing for much of the month. If I could just make the bad better the worst would only be bad...get it? :)

Angie -- you wanted to chew?! Maybe you should get yourself one of those doggie things, or some unflavored version and just go for it!! :lol3: Funny, my food attacks never involve chewing..it's more like just suck it all in!

Trying to be a little productive today, or fall yet further into the hopeless state. What I desperately need are hugs and kind words....

jbbm 11-29-2005 09:18 PM

I can't believe how great everyone looks on The Biggest Loser. They are awesome motivation!

Good Night Girls
:)

melekalikimaka 11-30-2005 06:21 AM

Good morning girls... It's 1 a.m. and I'm wide awake. I want to kill Rick, he came strolling in around 11:30 pm (out drinking again). I get so mad when he does this. Don't know if I want to put up with it much longer. I'm seriously thinking of packing a bag for him and pushing him out the door until he agrees to get some help for his problem. On a more positive note, I am going to an Eagles concert tonight, with or without him. Music just cheers me up, you know?

Julie, I just found out that there will be another local biker build-off here (of the motorcycle sort). They are going to have the Motley Crue bikes on display as well. Can't wait to see if i run into any of them, mostly Tommy :T . Oh yeah, and Tommy Lee will be DJ'ing at a club the night before the concert. I can't make that one though since Michael's school will be having their Xmas program that same night. Bummer! I will send my girlfriends though and they promised to take pictures for me.

I didn't watch any of the other shows but I did watch the finale of the Biggest Loser. It is SO AMAZING how these people transformed themselves even after getting voted off. It's so inspiring! That guy Pete was pretty darn sculpted wasn't he? I don't think it's fair that they pit the men against the women, although Suzy did a bang up job didn't she?

Angie, I've never considered a recumbent, but maybe I will since you mentioned it. But how to sneak another exercise thing into the house when the ones I've got aren't even being used? I'm short too, so if it works for you it may just work for me.

Julie, ouch on those cysts! I have to wait for the blood test results to come back before they plan any course of treatment. Of course I have the feeling that my blood tests may turn up 'within normal limits' and I'll just be one of those people who have all the symptoms of something, but the tests show otherwise . I may just go back on BCP and be done with my dreams of having another :bb: :(

Red, I'm following Weight Watchers and it just seems to work for me. I honestly don't know how I managed almost 5 lbs because I ate a few things I probably shouldn't have. I was really sedentary prior to this so just doing the change in diet and starting to exercise again has really made a huge difference. I'll send you some good vibes :goodvibes: :goodvibes: :goodvibes:

Well, I'm done rambling for now. I gotta get back to bed. Chat with y'all at a more decent hour

Dips'n'twists 11-30-2005 08:09 AM

Ciao babes

Okay, so I meet with this chick on saturday. I'm sooo excited :carrot: . The Pup is 10 months old. He's a teacup so he's only 4 pounds and he won't get much bigger than that. Just how I like 'em :D The minute I make this thing final I will bombard you guys wit photos. Okay enough about me...

Angie- Those sudden snack attacks will pass. Its all a part of your body's transition. GFood job on resisting temptation! You're doing a great job.:D

Red- My love, I hope you find your way out of this slump and feel better. You are such a bubbly happy person, it kills me to see you in bad spirits. I'm here to give you all the hugs you need.

J- OH MY GOD. My jaw was on the floor the entire show [The Biggest Loser] Everyone looked so good. It's actually inspiring that they have to finish the last leg on their own. I just feel terrible for the one who didn't show up because he gained so much weight back :(. Hopefully he watched the show and decided to change his life for good. My goodness, some of these people dropped a whole person Matt lost 157 pounds. :yikes: That's phenominal. Anyways, I'm not a big fan of the flu shot. One year, my command made me get it, it just made me sick. I never got it again and I never had the flu. But that's just me, the kids may benefit. A lot of people swear by them.BTW, 15 minutes is great! A good starting point, you just gotta build yourself up but go at your own pace, you'll be fine!

Noelle- YOU ROCK!!!:carrot: I am so proud of you. You're gonna look so hot! I was checkin' Pete out last night too. He says he's ready to have some babies...I'm ready to help him  I was so glad he won the 100 grand. The ones that really deserved it were him and the Doctor. They were the two nice guys on the show. What a fabulous show. I watched it from day one. I am hooked now. I hope you get things squared away with Rick. I guess what he needs moe than anything is a lot of support and a little tough love. Have fun at the concert! BTW isn't it just fabulous to lose weight even when you cheat a little? OH that's the BEST!!! :carrot:

Cherie, Kempy- come out come out wherever you are!! Hope everythging is okay.

Okay ladies, not doing such a good job of getting back to good eating. But the women at work keep bringing all this damn food! But today is a new day and I'm going to be a good girl. I just witnessed a panel of people who lost like 1000 pounds between them, granted it was no walk in the park but how impressive indeed! I'm off to work now!!

PhotogirlTX 11-30-2005 01:36 PM

Hey everyone! I'm back.. to a point I can check in! Last week, my daughters and I went to Tennessee to the Smoky Mountains for Thanksgiving, where we met my sister and her family there. That was a great trip.. but an extremely long drive home. Here are my pictures from it!

http://share.shutterfly.com/action/w...8AYt2TNu3cNGJ3

We drove home Sunday, (14 hours, through storms) and for the past three days, I've been trying to play catch up here at work. I think I am finally making some headway. Yesterday, the girls and I went and picked out a tree and set it up last night. Its the first full sized tree that I've been able to set up since 2000. The girls were very excited... I am glad. they needed that. Tonight, Hannah has gymnastics, and I need to go get a star for the tree.. and let Megan pick out an xmas gift for Hannah... then I am going to try to make some attempt in cleaning my house as well. I still need to unpack and I still need to do laundry... so that is the plan..

I'll check back in later when I can take a breath!!! I hope everyone is doing great!

Cherie

jbbm 11-30-2005 02:29 PM

Cherie, So nice to have you back. I love the pictures! You and your girls are just so pretty. Those pics of you and the girls together look like they are professionally taken. Those would be great framed. That looks like a beautiful area. I am glad you had a nice trip. Sounds like you have a busy night ahead of you. Take it easy:) And talk to you soon!

Dips four pounds? That is so tiny. When I lived at home we had a maltese poodle mix. He was nine pounds. But you would think he was a big dog, he was fearless and had a temper, LOL. I just can't get over it either how great everyone looked last night on the Biggest Loser. Isn't food at work the worst? Hang in there and stay away from it.

Noelle sweetheart I want to reach through the computer and give you a great big HUG. I hope you were able to get some sleep last night. Have fun tonight. It should be a blast. Have your girlfriends get lots of pictures of Tommy. That would be awesome to meet him.

Well I am off to get my body on the treadmill, haha....Holiday traffic was out today I think and I need to burn some steam from drving in it, LOL. Hi to everyone else!
:)

melekalikimaka 11-30-2005 04:19 PM

Hi ladies. I came home for lunch and found a mess in the yard. Lucky (that darn mischievous pup we have) is into chewing EVERYTHING. We had to stop leaving our shoes and slippers outside or else you would have a chunk missing next time you wanted to wear them. She's eviscerated all of her squeaky toys and took the stuffing out, popped a couple of Michael's basketballs...now she's taken to chewing on the foam rubber from Rick's weight eqiupment outside. She's even been chewing on the wooden stairs of the house! I don't know what to do with her. I walk her for at least an hour about 5x a week, or play w/her in the yard when I can't. I just gave her and the other dogs some rawhide chews and she just up and buried it! Crazy dog. Does anyone have any suggestions for a 8 month old puppy to stop chewing? I can't be around to watch her every minute. I can't think of anything except maybe tying her up during the day--which we've done before and all that did was make her chew her bedding.... help!

Cherie, you and your girls are just beautiful--and that place! Awesome views! I had butterflies in my stomach just from the shot from that lift going downhill! And your sister and her family, very nice looking people. This is the sis that works for Fairfield--that gets you good room rates? I love the reindeer and the bears. Your girls will remember this holiday for many years. Glad you could make some time to pop in with us.

Dips, 4 lbs is just the right size to sneak around in your purse like (the other) Angie said :) Let us know when you finally get him. He's gonna be so adorable.

Julie, thanks, I needed the hug. Holiday traffic is the worst! Good for you for de-stressing on that treadmill. You know with parking at malls? My sis has a friend of a friend named Cynthia Mitchelson who lives somewhere on the mainland. Anyway, this lady "Cynthia", she always gets lucky with finding a close parking space (or so we've been told). So when we're in a busy shopping center trying to find parking, we chant "Cynthia Mitchelson, Cynthia Mitchelson"....and someone almost always pulls out in front of us so we can park. It's weird and funny at the same time. We've never even met this Cynthia person, but we use her name to get a good parking space, and it works!

Red, how's your day going so far? Have a good one! :flow2:

Hi to Angie, Kempy, Cal, Holly....come out come out wherever you are.

calnative 11-30-2005 11:28 PM

Just wanted to drop in and let you know I'm still here.
Progress reports go out tomorrow and I'm still putting grades in the grade book. I'm so tired and feeling down, but don't really know why.
I'll try to check in again soon.

Cal
