  • Dee, I am so sorry that you got bad news. Please know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. Love you!
  • Dee,
I'm so sorry to hear about your Dad. Where is the cancer? Bless his heart. You, your Dad & family are in my prayers. If you need anything, please let me know! Love you girlie!
  • Dee-I am praying for your dad, mom and your entire family. Please give them my best.

Gayle-You go girl! You are slipping right into that job!

Cheryl-Sounds like you did great avoiding the potatoes and gravy. I'm so glad you are back to posting.

Sherry-How's it going? I thought it was slowing down a bit, but in the afternoon, it sped right up again. I am still getting yelled out about the buses not being on time.

Becky came to the office crying yesterday. They are accusing her of cheating. I witnessed her reading this book all summer. Apparently, there is quite a bit of cheating going on and some kids are fessing up, but others aren't. She asked the girl that she knows copied her if she cheated, and she won't admit it. This could put Becky on academic probation. She won't let me get involved, she says she can fight her own battles. She has worked so hard to stay in IB, I really want to make sure that she doesn't have something on her record that she didn't do. This could affect her college applications.
  • Dee....So sorry to hear about your Dad ~~your family our in my prayers.

Things here are going well and feeling alot better~~I say it is about time~~I need vacation from myself....lololol

Will check on you later gals.

    Vicki
  • Dee--I am so sorry to hear about your Dad. I'll be thinking of y'all.

Shelley--I was accused of cheating in high school, too, when I didn't. There's nothing worse than being accused of something you KNOW you didn't do! They should re-administer that test (or a similar one) to Becky and the cheating girl, in separate rooms, and see what happens. Becky will be vindicated--the truth has a way of coming out in situations like that.

This week-end Stewart and I are going to visit my trailer in Magnolia. While we are there, we're going to run down to the Boats in Shreveport, Louisianna. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I'll hit a jackpot!
  • Shelley, I agree with Cheryl. Hopefully they will re-test and see Becky is telling the truth. It's sad when we raise our kids to have morals and to do things right, then adults question their integrity. Give her a hug from Auntie Gayle and tell her I am thinking of her and want her to continue standing up for herself. BRAVO!!!
As far as my job...I can do the "grunt work" no problem there...it's running the registers, computers and large orders with 50 zillion discounts! LOL!

Cheryl, have fun this weekend! If you win big, send some my way, ok????

Vickster, glad your feeling better! Is Cara attending college this year?
  • Thank you for all the prayers. That is what I love about you girls, you are always there with support. That means a lot to me. Dad had prostrate cancer. He will be starting radiation after he sees Cancer Care. He is in denial so Mom said that we can't talk to him about it right now.

Shelley I feel so bad for Becky. That was a bad judgement call on the teacher. I hope that she will be able to handle this situation by herself. If not I know that you are there for her and you can tell her that.

Vicki I am glad that you are doing well. It sure would be nice to see a few more posts from you.

Cheryl good luck, I hope that you win the jackpot. This weekend when we are away at the wedding we are going to the mineral spa that Larry took me to a couple of years ago. We will also spend sometime at the casino with my mom and dad. lol

Gayle pat yourself on the back, you can do anything that you put your mind to. You are a strong person.

I have to run to the store, get the stuff in the suitcase and go for highlights at 5:30. It is busy. Larry also has a sleep study tonight at the hospital. As soon as he wakes up in the morning he will come home and shower and then we will be off to get mom and dad. We decided that since they have a van it will be more comfortable for me. I will be able to lie down. I still have a hard time sitting.

I hope that you all have a good weekend. I will post on monday.
  • Dee, my dad was diagnosed with prostate cancer about 5 years before he passed away. The reason why I'm telling you this is, Steve's dad was diagnosed with prostate cancer probably 6-7 years ago and continues to be in remission after treatment. When dad was taking treatment (radiation) it made him deathly ill to the point of vomiting around the clock. Now with the medical world advancing, treatment seems to not have the same affect on people as years ago. Most cancer clients I have visited with taking radiation say it is like having a very light case of the flu which can last anywhere from a few days to a couple of weeks. Just be there for your dad and he will talk to you about it when he is ready. My dad never discussed too much of his illness, but he knew I was always by his side if he needed me. I am sending healing prayers your way.
  • Hello

Things are starting to slow down a bit at school. Hopefully things will get calmer as the days goes on.

After work today I went to the Board of Education and put in a bid on a job I really want. It's for an Attendance Worker. I will have 9 cluster schools assigned to me. It will be the same 9 schools for the whole year. I will have to go to all 9 during the week. I will also be doing home visits and going to court with the Parents who's child has attendance problems. If it's meant to be, then I'll get the job. If not, then it's ok. I'll continue to do what I do. I'll let ya'll know if I get it.

    Dee,
Your Dad will be in my prayers daily. Please keep us posted. Have a wonderful weekend!!!!

    Gayle,
The longer you work there the easier it will get. You're a very strong and smart person and I know you can do it!!! How does Allison like school?

    Shelley,
That's aweful about Becky!!! Bless her heart! She's so innocent and getting blamed! NOT FAIR!! If she doesn't get anything done about it, please step in and do something. Let us know how it turns out!

    Ramona,
Have things calmed down any at work? I hope so. You have been so stressed lately.I don't want it to run you down.Try to rest and post again when you can.

    Vicki,
I'm so happy that you're feeling better. Can you afford to close your daycare for a week and either take a short trip or have a couple of "Vicki days?"

    Cheryl,
Have fun!!!! I hope you win lots of money!!!!! Think of all of us if you do!! BTW: I love low-carb and I'm doing VERY well on it!

To everyone else: Hello and please post soon!!!! I miss ya'll!

    Hugs.....
  • Shelley, tell Becky I am so proud of her for standing up for herself. In the end, the truth will come out and Becky will be come out standing tall. You have done a wonderful job rearing your daughters. You should be proud!

Dee, I hope you have a good time this weekend. I will be keeping you in my prayers.

Gayle, how was Allison's second day at school? I bet everyday for her will be PERFECT! How is the job going? Girl, you're working so hard you'll look like Twiggy in no time!

Sherry, good luck with the new job. It sounds very interesting. I'll be sending positive vibes your way. When will you know?

Cheryl, count me in on the good wishes. I hope you come home a millionaire!!!

Vicki, good to see you post. I'm glad things are going better for you. Take care of yourself!

I'm feeling a little better today. The perp confessed to the crimes he committed and now those little girls will not have to go into open court and tell their stories. When he failed the polygraph, he just decided to tell all. And believe me, it was plenty disgusting! As hard as it was for me to listen to all of the testimony and transcribe it for the prosecutor, it was also healing in a way. It made me face something that happened to me when I was around 7 years old. Actually, it kind of brought closure for me. I have never told anyone, not even Rick, that I was molested by an older cousin. Today I was in a meeting with my boss and I told him what this experience has done for me. He was shocked, needless to say. I think most people assume that abuse only occurs in poor, dirty households. But that simply isn't true. It knows no socio-economic barriers. That was some 38 years ago and at that time, it was more or less handled within the family. The cousin joined the military shortly after and it was never spoken of. I have seen him probably 2 times since then and he is just as creepy as ever. But, he doesn't have a hold on me anymore. HE is the bad person, not me. Wow, that feels so good to "say" that out loud! No one will ever take advantage of me like that again!!!

    Good night all.....
  • Hello Happy Friday!!!!!!!!!!

Just wanted to say hello and I hope everyone has a fun, safe weekend!! For those of you going out of town, be safe & enjoy your time!

Carol.....How are your ankles? I have thought about you off & on today!! I hope you're ok!!! Love ya!

Will post again over the weekend. Have a good one!
  • Ramona, I can't even begin to imagine the feelings you and others on this board have had because of a sick person like your cousin. I know you probably asked God why me? when it happened to you...maybe it happened to you as a child so you could reach out and help the children you are now in the adult llife. I feel we all gain strength from the difficulties we face during our lifetime. Bless you sweetie, sending extra hugs tonight.

Allison LOVES school!!! I hate to brag on her, but she is a very well behaved child. The teachers of even the older grades all seem to know her and address her by name. I hope this is a good thing?? LOL! She really likes her teacher and I think she ended up with about five other kids from her class last year in this years class.

Have any of you listened to the BTK-Dennis Rader case here in Kansas? It has made National news. he is a very disturbed, evil man who should spend the rest of his life locked away from hurting society. I listened yesterday to a few of the victims family statement before sentencing, how heart-wrenching. He looks just like the average Joe, one would never guess he is a serial killer etc. It showed pictures of him in self bondage and a few pics of him down inside a grave with a body of a victim, how sick??? He is a very, very sick, self absorbed person who has hurt so many people and families.

Sher, I noticed the exercise thread...GREAT JOB!
  • Gayle sure did watch the trial on CourtTV of that monster...I kept waiting for someone to tell him to shut up at the sentencing. Man has no clue does he/did he.Wacko job he is

It is so dang hot here you can't hardly stand to be outside...
Hey Sherry maybe in Nashville next wk/end my hubby is taking to see her brother and sister/n/law who are in a assisted living down there. They went down a few weeks agos b/c the aunt is dying but like i said I MAy~~~can't you see me and the old woman for 3 hrs. in the same car.

Thursday was Cara's 19th b/day and we sent her flowers, bought her a digi.camera and took her out to dinner...She is such a sweetie and we had a great evening ~~no boyfriend to aggravate us...lolololol

Glad everyone is doing ok and will check in again.
