Morning Chickies! :wave: Thank you so much for the b-day wishes! I have to tell you when I got up yesterday I was feeling rather depressed about turning 40. I was all down in the dumps and the next thing I knew it was time to go to the hairdresser. I almost cancelled it b/c of how I was feeling too--so glad I didn't! Chickies, I have FINALLY found the hairdresser if my dreams!!!!!! I went in (very nervous) just to get a cut and ended up getting the wroks: cut, color and hilights! She had the time so I thought, why not? I now have a brand new look--you guys won't believe it. I have short hair....the days of wearing my hair pieces are over! It's chin length...shorter in the back--flips up and longer towards my chin--it's angled towards my chin. I can use a flat iron on it or for a different look use a curling iron. She asked me to look thru the books to see what I might wnat...I picked out 2 pix and asked if it could be combined...she's like: no problem! I swear to God that this is the first time EVER that my hair has come out like the picture! This girl is great and it didn't cost me and arm or leg either! I already made my next appointment!
After I was done there I came home, changed then went and treated myself to a manicure....got the brows waxed too. S came over after work and gave me a card...she kept saying open it, open it. I finally did and guess what? She got us tix to see Phantom of the Opera in NYC the day after Thanksgiving! I nearly fell over. I've always wanted to see that--figuring when it comes to Philly again. I practically know ever single word tothe soundtrack! I had no idea she was planning that. I'm very excited. Today when I got to my office she had it all decorated with a nice goodie bag. So, what was a yucky morning yesterday turned out to be a great birthday! I feel very lucky (& thankful) to have friends like you guys and S. I was surprised all the way around with everything everyone did! My parents gave me a very nice ring (sapphires & diamonds)...I cried when they gave me that. I feel very fortunate to be alive and for the most part healthy. Now if I can just get my rear in gear and get this weight off. I haven't been to the gym in over a week and I can tell. Forget dieting today...will start fresh tomorrow. I honestly feel like a new person with my new haricut! It's kinda given me the "umph" I need to hopefully get this weight off! Thanks to you all for being there for me! :grouphug: |

okay, i have a minute to actually post!
yesterday after work i went shopping...and spent so much money! i got a lot of stuff, so that is good. i was out running around for almost 4 hours! i got some APs out of it so that's good! even if i did need to sell one of my arms, lol. ROCKER: i'm so glad your day ended up being a great one! i can't wait to see your hair!!! :) SPILLIE: i'm going to san francisco. i leave on tuesday morning...so i'll be at work monday to harrass you guys ;) -- and i should be able to at least check in when i'm there since i'll have my laptop - it just might be wacky hours! (like 2pm your time on wednesday when i'll probably just be waking up since our conference doesn't start til 1pm PST time) :p hi to HAPPY, TWIDDLE and BROOK! going to finish my golden grahams... |
Hey Chickies...didn't get selected for the Oprah show. :mad: Got an email from a friend stating the show was taped on Wednesday--a girl who was there posted it on the fan club boards stating she and a friend were there but that's she could say til after it airs. BOO FREAKIN HOO! :cry: :cry: :cry: I can't wait to see who they picked....bet she's not a true fan like me dangit!
A film crew from the show was in Philly last Friday morning filming JBJ at C & P's in S. Philly...by the thime word got out he had already left....it was around 8am and the place doesn't open til 11 or something like that. Thanks to all of you for nominating me! Maybe next time! The way I figure it this will give me time to get the weight off and make my new doo look even better! IT's HIS LOSS! LMAO! |

ROCKER - I'm so glad to hear you had such a good birthday. Phantom of the Opera tickets? I'm jealous! I've seen in twice, in NYC, and it rocks. The first time was right when it started...well, about 10 months or so after it started, but the earliest my mom could get tickets for a Saturday. And I'm psyched to see your new 'do! Amazing what a little chop-chop can do, eh? VIVA - Hope you have a fun and safe trip to San Fran. I've never been to California...DH wants to go, so we'll see. Hope you have good weather out there, too! BROOK - What can I say, except, good morning!! HAPPY - Hope the new job is going well! SPILLIE - Hey! So, you know this project from **** I've been working on for like 6 months or so? It was supposed to go into production tomorrow, so we've been working our azzes off to get it finished. On Friday, the client decided they didn't agree with what we were doing (even though they supposedly reviewed and approved everything), and we need to re-vamp the entire thing. Months of work, down the drain. Needless to say, I was ready to kill someone on Friday. Also had a meeting with my new boss on Friday, to discuss all of my issues (getting a laptop to work from home, transferring to Philly, etc.). He was very receptive to everything, and said that all of my points were valid. I know nothing will happen overnight, but it felt good even to get it out, and I have faith that he's going to try his hardest to help me...and not just blow it off. We'll see! Well, hope everyone has a fantabulous Monday. I'm starting over on this project...woo freakin' hoo. Oh, and go E-A-G-L-E-S EAGLES!! Can't wait for tonight!! |
Good morning all! Not too much going on here at work, just making up a list of things I need to remember to pack tonight! I haven't packed yet - nothing like waiting til the last minute! Oh yeah, and I won't have internet access when I'm in San Fran either - the high speed internet access in the hotel is $13.95 extra PER DAY and it costs money to make a toll FREE call at the hotel...ummm, what happened to toll FREE calls being FREE? I just don't get it! Oh well!
I probably won't get much sleep tonight. We have to leave my house a little after 5am tomorrow morning...so I'll be up REALLY early. Oh joy! That's fine though because I plan on sleeping on the plane! Good luck with restarting the project TWIDDLE! Hi SPILLIE, ROCKER, HAPPY and BROOK! |

I hope all are doing well. I had a relaxing weekend getting the house clean and caught up on errands and little things that just always get put aside for later. But all in all a very relaxed weekend. TWIDDLE, I hope you can get this project resolved...sorry to hear all the trouble they are giving you. BTW, they are thinking of switching our :ebike: class to Monday nights. I'll know for sure this afternoon. Hopefully we can walk on another night if this happens. If the class doesn't get switched, do you want to walk tonight? :^: VIVA, since you won't be getting any sleep tonight anyway, why not spend it packing. :lol: HELLO BROOK, HAPPY and CHICKIE. I have quite a bit of work sitting in front of me that I don't want to do, so I guess I better get started. I'll try to get back on here later. Off to get my :coffee: first though. SPILLIE - I'd love to walk tonight. We're having a few friends over to watch the game, so it can't be too late...but the weather should be real nice to go walking! Let me know where/when!
VIVA - Wanna hear a funny story about toll-free hotel calls? One night my girlfriend and I stayed at a hotel, and the next morning, concert tickets were going on sale for a particular show, so I called from the hotel. Well, obviously, the line was busy, and I kept re-dialing. When we went to check out, the bill ended up being over 10 pages long. Here, we had over $300 in phone charges! I said, "The line was busy!" Eventually we got the charges reversed. Unbelievable! |

Hey Chickies...I know this is later than my usual post, but things here have been hopping! In a bit I will send pix from Fri night....had a blast. We went to Champps on the blvd. I started out with rasp.stoli & Sprite but quickly changed to Miller Lite....blech on that on drink! We had appetizers as well as a meal. I couldn't eat everything though. The wait staff came out and sang to me (I blushed BIG TIME) then gave me a sundae. In addition the girls I went with got me a cake with the pic of me and JBJ on it! WOOHOO...it looks so good too. I wouldnt' cut it--it's in my freezer! LMAO!
