I did okay on Saturday. I ended up around 1250 calories. I didn't exercise, though. That's a bummer. Today I need to practice restraint. My parents are having a barbeque. I know that I could easily eat 2000 calories there alone!

Well, ladies...I hope you're okay. I am starting to feel like I'm the only one who posts here anymore, lol. Please...COME BACK! I need support.

Yesterday was a busy day. We ate out twice, but both times, I did VERY well. Even got to see my BIL, whom I haven't seen in awhile.

Today has been busy also. Grocery shopping. DH is mowing the grass. I'm fixing to start some laundry and supper.

I have been so busy, since I woke up, that I haven't even stopped to eat yet *sigh*

shyla2001 04-24-2005 09:56 PM

I am here!!!!! Lori, you need a ticker! I have no idea how much weight you're trying to lose, how much you've already lost, etc! 1250 sounds like so few cals to me!! I know it depends on your weight, though....

here's a synapsis of what I've done since last weigh in......

Wed: 1762 cals (my daily goal is 2065 or less at my current weight, so this is good, for me)
Thurs: 2183 cals (went to see the movie Hitch with a girlfriend of mine; was doing good until dinner at the movie - had chicken quesidillas, a few of her fried zucchinis, a light beer, and a glass of wine)
Fri: 2340 cals (was the night I made that casserole for DH that had mashed potatoes & sausage in it)
Sat: 1800 cals (yay! - went grocery shopping today, which helps! got lots of fruit & salad stuff)
today/Sun: 2800 cals! *ugh* we had a busy day with church, bible study tonight, etc. after church, drove thru Jack in the Box, and I had a Sourdough Jack with small fries (971 cals!!!); then tonight at bible study, a girl brought pizza, cheese sticks, and p.b. rice krispie treats!! I only had 1 piece of the pizza, and 2-3 small cheese breadsticks, and several _5-6? small rice krispie treats.......

So out of 5 days, I've only done good 2 days..... *sigh*

Looking back at what I'm eating, I realized I've GOT to cut back on breakfast. I eat BIGGG bowls of cereal for breakfast (usually 1.5 - 2 cups of cereal, plus 1 - 1.5 cups of 2% milk.....), so it's coming to 360-540 cals just for breakfast, depending on which cereal I eat......

I think I need to buy some oatmeal packets.... oatmeal really fills me up, and it's just a few cals (160ish) for the flavored kinds..... I actually just went downstairs to see if we had some from long ago, but we don't.... I'll have to get some soon! That will help me start the day off better!

Lori, how'd you do at the BBQ?

aliceshellique 04-25-2005 07:48 AM

Where is the thingy that you guys are talking about that you go to and put in all the food that you have eaten? I need to start doing that. I did well yesterday, mom got KFC, and only had one biscuit but I kind of splurged last night. I wanted something to eat so badly I went and got me some wendy's and they didn't have any salads (how yougone be a restaurant and you don't have no salads?) so I got me a burger and fries and a Pepsi. THen my WHOLE pepsi spilled into the floor (AHHHHHHHHHHHCCCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKK) so I just did without my pepsi. And I wanted it too bad, that must have been a sign.

Well, I am about to go put the kids in their stroller and I am about to go walking. Talk to you ladies later.

KellieB 04-25-2005 08:16 AM

Good Morning Ladies! I did not even count my calories over the weekend. I know it is bad! I had a bad weekend. We had friends over on Saturday. I was doing well. We made BBQ chicken pizza which was not bad, but then she brought brownies and pumpkin bread. Since I rarely make sweets, I go hog wild when I have them around. So that night was shot. Yesterday was not too bad, I just did not take the time to put it in.

I have not walked the dogs in a couple of days but sure have gotten a work out helping dh. We had to carry 12 ft. frames to the back yard for the shed and the siding. It was heavy. Then yesterday when the girls were napping I went out to help him. I nailed the siding, which was on the ground, so it was quite a squat work out! I can feel it in my thighs this morning.

Alice ~ There are a couple different websites...there is fitday.com or fitwatch.com. Shawn uses fitwatch I think and I use fitday as well as Tricia. It helps to know how much something really is calorie wise. Also, I have customized some of my foods that I eat on a regular basis by using the food label info.

Shawn ~ You can go to allrecipes.com to check out some of their recipes. They all give nutrition info for each recipe. Also, on foodnetwork.com, the calorie commando, http://www.foodnetwork.com/food/show_cv , has some interesting recipes. I hope that this helps. I know it is hard somtimes. We feel like we get in a rut and need new ideas.

Well, off to get the girls. And the fence guy is coming today. Hopefully we should have a fence by Memorial Day!!!

1lb :( Thought for sure it would be more than that. Unless TOM is sneaking up on me. :?:

Anyone else WI on Mondays? How did you do?

shyla2001 04-25-2005 10:28 AM

Jawsmom weighs in on mondays, but then again with our group on Weds..... I think the offical WI day for this thread is Weds a.m.

I've used allrecipes.com before, but forgot they have nutrition info on it...... I need to go find some recipes! Thanks for the tip!

Alice you crack me up! How they gonna be a restaurant if they ain't got salads! LOL Check out fitwatch.com (or fitday). It's been really good for helping me see my weak areas.

For breakfast, I had a SMALL bowl of cereal (1 cup w/.5 cup milk), so I'm starting off better today.....

busymom2four 04-25-2005 10:36 AM

Yay! I'm so happy to see all my twin mommy friends! I was afraid that I had lost you all for awhile. Well...I did okay on Sunday. The BBQ was so fun. I only ate half of a hamburger and 1/5 cup of potato salad (yes...I actually used a measuring cup to serve myself, lol). I ate a bunch of green salad and a tiny piece of cake. However, my mom sent potato salad home with us and I ate another 1/2 cup or so (didn't measure this time) last night. I think I ended up around 1400 calories for the day. I am afraid that I am not going to lose any weight this week. I have had sort of a bad time about it. Even when my calories were low, my fat percentage was too high. I have averaged 1426 calories over the last week and 31% fat. I like to stay more around 25% fat. Sigh. We'll see.

Shawn--I don't know how to get a ticker :o . I weighed 164 pounds last time I weighed. I started at 193. I have lost 29 pounds as of last Wednesday. I was hoping to hit the big 3-0 this week...but we'll have to see about that. At every ten pound mark I get a reward (which always includes a date with DH). I was hoping to go out with him next weekend, but I don't know if I'm going to make it or not. I try to stay between 1200-1500. According to the calculator things I need to eat around 1700 to lose 2 pounds a week. I have never lost two pounds a week at that rate for some reason. I know that you are not supposed to go below 1200 so that's why I stay where I do. The more you lose the less you can eat to lose weight. I lose very easily the first month. I think I lost 12 pounds the first month and I've only lost 17 during the two months that have followed. It is discouraging sometimes but so worth it.

Kellie--Doesn't sound like you did too bad. You've been doing really well so far. It also sounds like all that work around the house is really something. I wish we all lived closer together so we could go walking! That would be fun. By the way, thanks for the websites for food! I'm going to go check them out and see what recipes I can find!

Alice--I know your pain when it comes to spilled soda. That exact thing happened to me once when I was about 13. I hardly ever had money to buy sweets like that (and didn't have money to go buy any more). I almost cried, lol. You should go try one of the calorie counter sites. I use fitday.com. I think that a BUNCH of people I know have started using it since I did, lol!

Kclay--we weigh in on Wednesdays around here. One of our gals, Tricia, weighs in on Mondays but she's on vacation with her honey. I'm so jealous! I am thinking about planning a trip to New York with only DH next fall. I've only been there once and DH would like to go (he's never been there). We are from Idaho so New York is FAR away for us.

Okay...I am going to do better this week! That is my goal!!!

Lori

aliceshellique 04-25-2005 11:07 AM

Lori, you can click on my ticker and it will pop up a screen for you to make one of your own.

So, I guess I need to be concerned about what kinds of fats I am taking in my body as well as everything else that I am already eating? I don't really eat a lot of fatty foods IMO.

I ended up not going for a walk outside with the kids but I did do walk away the pounds this morning. It was nice! I think that I am going to see about getting the two, three and morning and evening ones too. I am excited about making my goal become a reality!

I went to fitday.com. I don't think I will do fitwatch because it doesn't give you an option to register for free. I like the chart where you can put in your weight and your goal weight. I also like how it shows the range of what you should weigh according to your height and current weight and all that. I had started keeping a notebook of what I eat during the day. I guess I will need to start back doing that again. It helps me a lot to be able to eliminate the stuff that I know that I don't need.

I am glad that everyboody is doing well. It is good that we can handle ourselves. How about I challenge everybody this week? Maybe we can start Wednesday and go until next Wednesday? For one week we cannot go over our caloric intake that is our goal OR if you don't really go by that like I do, you cannot eat anything that is not healthy, and don't read in between the lines! By not healthy, I mean if there is any doubt about it, don't eat it! Does everybody think that they would be up to the challenge? I would do it! I would love to see everybody at least try!

Check this out. :listen: :strong: :jig: :cb: :twirly: :balloons:  :cofdate: :tread:

shyla2001 04-25-2005 11:25 PM

Alice, I do fitwatch for free! Sorry you couldn't find that option......

Went to movie tavern tonight with DH and saw Sahara -- good movie! Had a glass of wine, loaded cheese fries (split w/DH), and a piece of reeses cheesecake..... I HONESTLY thought I could eat that & would stay within my cals for today, b/c I hadn't eaten much all day, but I ended up about 100-200 cals above where I should be......

I'm gonna have to be really careful when we start this challenge on Weds!!

aliceshellique 04-26-2005 07:15 AM

Shawn, I know exactly what you mean about watching it come tomorrow, because I made meatballs yesterday for dinner. They were so so good! I with that I had some hoagie bread to put them on. I did have a slice of whole wheat, and put some Italian cheese on it, and it was SO good! THe kids were all sleep so I had a couple extra meatballs even though my stomach was already satisfied. I know, I know, I won't keep doing that. Then last night I stopped and got a large frosty for me and Chase and Camryn to share. It was a treat, but that will be it until the end of our challenge. I hope that everybody logs on to see the thread before tomorrow.

Well, today I go to pick up my friend's girls, who just had her twins last week. I was thinking of taking them to Chuck E. Cheese's. I know that they would really like that. Anybody think I am a little dumb for trying to take four girls and a set of twins to Chuck's by myself? We will see what happens!

See you ladies all later!

busymom2four 04-26-2005 10:38 AM

Ohhhh. We're not starting our challeng until Wednesday? Phew. I just posted on the challenge thread that I had already lost, lol. If we're not starting until tomorrow then I'm okay!

I hope our group doesn't GAIN weight this week! We're not doing very well. I feel like I've gained weight. I'm not sure that would be logistically possible, but I feel like I have  ! I am nervous for tomorrow!

Hope you ladies are all doing well.

Lori

shyla2001 04-27-2005 09:49 AM

Good morning ladies! It's Wednesday! How did everyone do?

I lost a lb (which is crazy, based on how I've been eating), but my scale is not that great, so could just be how I was standing on it, etc. But I took it 3 times, and I think it's showing I lost a lb. I'll take it! I've been PMSing like crazy, and don't know when my "bloating" starts, but I'll have to take that into consideration over the next week, I guess......

So our challenge starts today! I think this will be good for helping me stay on track! I'm excited about it! I'm going to try to stay under 1800 cals, although my Fitwatch says I can have 2059 cals/day. I also want to try to walk at least 3 days this week. I went to Allrecipes.com last night & printed out a bunch of low-cal recipes... don't know which one I'm choosing for tonight, though. I think maybe Cheeseburger Soup ....... we have most of the ingredients for it, so I won't have to go to the store.

So how are you ladies doing????

busymom2four 04-27-2005 10:07 AM

Sigh...I don't want to cry but I gained a pound! How can that be?!? I know that I had a couple of bad days, but I still ended up averaging 1500 calories for the week and I exercised 60-90 minutes five times this week. According to my calculators, I should be able to eat 1800 calories a day and still lose two pounds a week. I am hoping that maybe it's a water issue or something. I have been very low on my water. I just don't know. I feel so discouraged.
Anyway...Shawn, great job on your loss! That's awesome.

Better get my son off to school.
Lori
