Count me in

Hopefully I can still join you. :^: I started Weight Watchers in Sept. 04 and lost 15 pounds and I was on South Beach before that and lost 20 pounds. I moved to WW because SB was SO limited. I like WW b/c you can eat in moderation whatever you want. I am 33 and want to lose weight for health reasons and to wear nice clothes again. I've always been overweight but have never had a consistent weight loss like I've been doing. It's frustrating and sometimes I feel I will eat everything in the icebox. Thanks for your support in all this. I am glad that I am not alone. :thanks:

Starting again!

Hi Group!
I'm Ellen. I'm 46 and feelin' pretty low about me these days due to my weight gain of 30 pounds over the past couple of years.

I'd lived down south where I exercised by running/walking nightly 5 miles without fail, and had never had this type of weight problem. However, I moved up north and have put on the weight. I actually need to lose 60 at this point to get to my goal weight. I'd put on 20 before moving here because I'd become depressed and anxious. Here it snows in the winter and the ice really intimidates me. I rarely get out to exercise anymore. I work from home at a sedentary computer job eight hours a day also.

I joined Curves some time back but haven't been very consistent. I want so badly to get my energy to a higher level, and I got the book and am beginning on the Curves diet. I posted a few weeks ago on this site when I was really feeling enthused, but since then have fallen back into old ways and actually gained more weight. sigh.

I have to hold off on the exercise right now because last week my blood pressure went way up. IT had been borderline high for some time. My doc had me taper off an antidepressant I've been on, so i'm doing that, as it can cause blood pressure to elevate. He also had me have tests done to look at my heart at the hospital and wants me to hold off exercising until the results are in. So I'm in limbo right now. I want to go out and walk or go to Curves, but I have to wait until we know if there is anything wrong. he also put me on high blood pressure medication to see how it will do.

This is all very depressing for me, as I've lived my life without a weight problem, without health problems, and just now am realizing that getting older is kind of scary. I want to get healthy and light and free from depression again. My marriage is not happy, but I'm making the best of it right now. My oldest daughter has told me I must take control of my life. This is my attempt. I would really love to have support. Hopefully my next post will be more upbeat and I won't sound like Eeyore!

Thanks for being there. I'm looking forward to the encouragement and hopefully encouraging someone else as well.

Ellen

I want in on this!

I'm Erin, and I turn 24 on Thursday. I am single and love my career in Higher Education. I moved 120 miles away from my family and friends six months ago and been adjusting to my new life.

I've been heavy all my life, but was at my thinnest in high school, around 170 lbs. I'm 5'9" and currently weigh 243, down from 249 after four weeks of a completel lifestyle change. I've limited myself to below 1400 calories a day, down from around 3200. I'm working out at least 5 days a week, 3 of cardio and weights, 2 of yoga-- this is a drastic change from napping daily after work and sleeping 8-9hrs a night.

I'm all alone right now with no friends or family as motivators. I hope you gals can keep me on track, and I hope to do the same for you!

Hi All!
I drank all my water today, 48 oz., and am still going! After work today, I had an apple for a snack! I am going to have to go to the grocery store soon; stay away from the snacky aisle. You people have motivated me! Let's keep going!
Last night, I worked out like I said I would. I didn't really want to, but afterward felt really good. It gives you a feeling of accomplishment, which in turn makes me want to continue to my goal!
Have you drank your water today?
Peace,
Jen

Good morning Everyone ;) I hope you are all going well. I feel great this morning - I did yesterday too come to think of it. I am coping well with the water challenge I love water I just usually forget to drink it. I followed my diet fine yesterday until 7pm We went out to dinner with MIL there were NO healthy choices on the menu so I had steak (with fries and salad) now the meal was huge I mean really huge and usually I would eat it all but I didnt :D and have a couple of beers of glasses of wine to go with it but I didnt :D . I made sure I was driving so I wouldnt drink and dont feel at all guilty of what I ate :smug: . The scales havent shown it up yet - but have a sinking feeling they are a bit dodgy. I will use the ones at work later in the week. I am following the diet plan so I am not stressed like I usually am about being on a diet, now I know what and when I am going to eat (usually). And I love having you guys here. man I am peppy this morning actually maybe too peppy I think I just did a hair toss. All this before breakfast :dizzy:

where do you guys get the trackers at the bottom of your posts?

joana 02-22-2005 06:50 PM

As far as the weight bar.... Go to the top of the page where it says "user cp" click on that, you can alter lots of stuff to personalize this site to you, go to the one that says "edit signature" that is where you can put all sorts of deco on your name. It entertained me for quite a while. The weight tracker is in there. You can also go to this site http://www.tickerfactory.com/ezticke...r_designer.php
Then copy and paste the one you create here in your signature.

Hope that helps

Wow!

Hello everyone!!! Welcome to all the new ladies!! Everyone here is in the same boat sort to speak so we are a very supportive group of "chicks". I can't believe how many new people have joined us since I checked the site Sunday night. I am going to have to update my list now!! My husband has been working like a mad man on the computer and he had a deadline last night so I didn't get to check the site yesterday.

My mom and stepdad left this morning and are heading back to Kansas. It was nice to have them here, but it was nice to come home and not have company. My mom drove me nuts this weekend. Every time I would try to get on the computer and check the site she would come in and look over my shoulder. It drove me crazy. This is my personal thing that I do to help myself get through this long journey that lies ahead of me. Sometimes I tell you all things that I don't really want to share with anyone else.

I appreciate all of you and commend you on your achievements. :cb: :cb: I had to read so many posts tonight to catch up that it was just to hard to respond to everyone.

My personal goal this week is to post every night so that I don't fall behind again. I feel out of the loop if I miss a day. And I missed not being able to check in and see how everyone was doing.

I am getting nervous about WI on Thursday. Last week I was sooooooooooo good and did everything right and only lost a quarter of a pound!! Yikes, I was not a happy camper. Although I did try to look on the bright side that at least I didn't gain a quarter of a pound. I really want to be able to add another charm to my bracelet!!!!! I am also trying not to weigh myself everyday because that drives me insane. So I am trying to be very patient and wait for WI day.

My husband called tonight from work and said he had to confess that the office bought pizza because everyone was going to have to work late and he had two pieces. He said it made him feel kind of quesy after eating WW for 3 weeks. He hasn't had much choice about WW because I laid down the law that this is what I am cooking tonight so eat it or fend for yourself. I think he has actually liked everything that I have fixed. He says I have cooked more in the last 3 weeks then I have in the last 12 years. (I think he is right!)

Well I hear my children arguing so I had better go and check it out. Hang in there everyone!!!

Check it out!

I was just skimming through the journals and someone mentioned a site called www.myvirtualmodel.com It shows you a simulation of what you look like now and what you will look like at your goal weight. It might be worth it if you need a little extra motivation! It motivated my husband all right. He told me to get my butt on the treadmill!!!(ha-ha)

Okay this is as good as it gets. The only two people that have seen me like this are my husband and my OBGYN. Unfortunatley it is a pretty good simulation of what I look like. But.... Wow!!! Look at that amazing after picture! (I don't know if these pics will show up or not)
