Ugg! Well, I didn't even make it through one day of the challenge. My daughter is sick and has been sick for days. She pretty much moves from the bed to the couch and then back to bed. Since she hasn't felt like eating anything, I haven't been making meals, and I haven't been able to leave the house to go grocery shopping. So with a house full of snack food and no real food, that's what I ate yesterday. This sucks.

Okay... just had a grumpy rampage. I'm over it now. Today is a new day, and I won't make the mistakes I made yesterday. :D

Is it Friday yet?

Hey Ladies,
I hope everyone has had a good day. I did really good at work today and then I came home and I swear I ate almost a half abox of crackers before I knew it. I wonder how many points that was!!! It is horrible sometimes, I get the munchies as soon as I walk in the door and I'm not even really hungry. Old habits die hard!

Welcome Christine! You have come to the right place! Everyone is very supportive here!!

Michelle-I blew it to, healthy and snacks just don't go together for some reason! I think I blew it before I really even tried! I had a banana today and then it was downhill from there!

Stephanie- Hang in there, something will turn up soon. I know what you mean about finding someone you like at a temp agency. My husband went through that. It really helps when you feel like someone is out there pulling for you!!!

Okay now after my cracker binge I need to figure out how many points I have left for dinner tonight. Gotta go... the kids think they are starving!!

Stephanie,
I like to think the universe has a way of taking care of us. Maybe this all happened because you are going to find the job of your dreams. Hard things challange us but in the end we can learn from it. That being said, if i was on the phone with that guy i probably would have hung up on him :) You are a very strong person. I bet you'll find a new job soon :) GOod luck with the search.

Michelle,
Has your daughter triend airborn? Its the new thing out to help make sickness' shorter. I tried some last time i was sick and it worked pretty well to keep it short. It seems like you have a great attitude( today is a new day). I think ill print that out and hang it on my fridge :)

Welcome Christine! I just joined last week, but ive found it to be very inspirational here.

As for me, i went running TWICE this weekend. THats crazy. Only 10 min each time with 20 min of walking but it was 10 min straight which was way more than i thought i could do. It was awesome. Of course now im really sore. I streched before and after but clearly not enough. Strange thing is my arms hurt when i was running. i had them bent and by my side but they began to ache. I wonder if this is normal. Well this week is going to be busy. I have to proctor a finite math exam which means ill be swamped with kids asking questions until then. Next week is spring break wahoooooo. Ill be home and not doing any math related work. Hope this week goes by fast.

Keep up all the great work.
Ciao,
Adena

Hey there.

I'm new to the boards, although I've poked around here and there.

I'm Athena, and I live just north of San Diego, along the coast. I'm 39 years old, and will turn 40 this December. I'm married and a SAHM to two sons, age 12 and 2.

Back in 2000, I lost a whole bunch of weight the old-fashioned way with strength training, cardio, and clean eating (lean protein, complex carbs & healthy fats). I achieved my goal weight of 110 lbs. and eventually settled around 115 lbs. The summer of 2001 I was right at 115 lbs.,, 9/11 happened (lots of comfort eating) and then I got pregnant with my second son weighing 130 lbs. I gained 40 lbs. during the pregnancy and came home weighing 159 lbs. In the 2.5 years since then I've piddled around and got my weight down to 144 lbs. for one day, but most recently (a week ago!) I pegged the scale at 161 lbs.

Last week I began doing what I know will work to rid my body of this excess weight. My goal is 112 lbs., with a range of 112 - 116 lbs. for maintenance. I'm down four pounds so far.

I look forward to being a part of this community here.

hey everybody. hello newbies (hi christines!!! there are several on the board). i have not been checking in the past couple of days. glad to know that this thread is still going strong with support.

I am down to 208 from 214/216. I have been on xenical now for almost 1 1/2 wks. I am doing very well at eating low fat and cutting out dairy. I did some bike riding over the weekend. Felt good! Trying to drink more water though.

we can do it! christine

Hi Everyone. I hope it is all going well for you all. I am having a great week but with a bittersweet realization - my favourite jeans will not make it through winter this year. I mean I really love these jeans and I have only seen one other pair, They are eons old, their button fell off and the zip is stuck up so I shimmy them on and off but now they are starting to get loose-WooHoo :D and in a couple of weeks they will start falling down of their own accord. These are truly magic jeans no matter how fat or thin I was they always fit and were very comfortable and best of all they were fashionable and my mother still thought they looked good. so the diet is working!! :D I have been on points and on track 30min exercise everyday even when I am dog tired after night shift. today I slept all day and then watched the terminal it was a good movie, I am very tired on this run off nightshifts - I cried watching this movie and its not even sad. At least I will get more sleep in tomorow as it has turned cooler here this pm I even had to wear a jersey when I walked the dog at 8pm that means Autumn is here now. I have to go to work now. I will post tommorow night.

Back again!!!

Welcome to our newest members!, I hope you find everything you need to get you going on your journey to lose weight.

So far, my day was boring, I didn't wanted to go to work, I'm being reeeeeaaaaalllyyyyyyy lazy these days, i don't know why!!!!

Had my water, and drank 2 bottles of V8 Splash at work, I love the taste!!, it's the best stuff on earth ( sorry Snapple  ). I went to the gym and did my exercises too, but still i feel like an old cow :( , but I'm not worring cause I know I'll get thru this ( did I get Thru written the right way?)

I see that Steph its passing by a very hard time, sorry to hear about that, i Hope you find a better job, one that you dont have to hear JERKS calling and asking about ppl the already know they're not there!, I know the feeling I kind of spent some "quality" time with the phone where I work and trust me, people can get very stupid when they think that the recepcionist has to solve their probs... Anyways we know you'll get a better job so, keep those blue feelings away from you! :)

I have to go to bed now, I hope tomorrow I dont feel so lazy, cause this feeling really often means I'm gonna get sick, and I dont want to be sick!!!, not now that spring break it's ahead!!!

Love you guys so much!!!, take care!!!

J.-

Today I bought and am reading AJ Rochester's book, “A Lazy Girl's Guide to Losing Weight” I cant help it along with my scales now I am addicted to "diet" books in the last month I have read Dr phils uwls cookbook, french women dont get fat and now A Lazy Girl's Guide to Losing Weight. I cant help it I find them inspiring, that and I cant find a good fiction book at the moment.
Also I have been scribing quotes all though my food tracker when I read/hear something I like, I watched before sunset a couple of days ago and I loved this line- " (somepeople) they enjoy the goal but not the proccess, the reality of it is that the true work of improving things is in the little improvements of the day and thats what you need to enjoy." I think that applies to my diet/change of lifestyle, I am enjoying getting fitter and all the exercise I do along with all the yummy healthy food that I do eat. Really I even enjoy planning and tracking my food intake along with posting here. I love the feeling of victory when I am on points, on goal with exercise and have drank enough water for the day. Night shift seems to be playing havoc with the scales but I know I am getting smaller. My skin is loving the extra water.
take care everyone.
see you tomorrow.

Thanks so much to all of you! I didn't post yesterday because I was just chilling out with my computer time. I looked up some playstation 2 walkthroughs for a couple of my games that I was stuck on! I also looked up tips for my Gallop Racer 2004 game to see when I can add more mares to my stable!! I just LOVE that game being horse crazy as I am! I played my gallop racer for a little while and got through a tricky point in one of my other games last night before going to bed. It really helped me to chill out!

I got some high fiber cereal last night and had 1/2 cup of it with 1/2 banana cut up in it! It was very filling! I didn't want to snack the rest of the evening! Today I am totally back on track! I'm so glad. My stress over the job thing is gone. I still don't have anything lined up but I know that I can apply for unemployment and that will help me through till I find a job! I've eaten 200 cals today, drank 20 oz of water (so far) and I walked around the block for 10 minutes during my 15 minute 10am break!!! It feels so great to be back on track again! I also bought some pants on clearance last night. they were $2.00. A pair of grey dresspants. In a size 14!! I'm in a size 20 pants right now. I'm hoping to be to the 14's no later than the fall!! That will give me something to shoot for!

Hope everyone is doing well. Have a great day!

Hi everyone,

Haven't been posting in a while, but I have read most posts :)

It's been three weeks that I started ww, and I'm now getting more and more confortable with it. I'm not having too many cravings and when I do, it fit it in the program. I've picked up my exercising (4 days a week), drink 4-6 glass of water a day, and stay OP at all times. So I can see myself going for long.

My next goal is the Onederland :D

Keep at it ladies, the weight will come off!

Ann
