Good Wednesday Morning Ladies

:coffee: :coffee: :coffee:

QOTD: WE ALWAYS REFER TO OUR DH, WHAT ARE THEIR NAMES?Okay, so I'm running out of good question ideas.
Answer: Kevin Andrew

Well, I must say that I might be up early, which I like, but I got 6 SOLID, STRAIGHT hours of sleep. I fell asleep probably around 1115 or 1130 and Andrew came and got me at 530. I can definitely handle that.

Spryng, I know you get tired, but if you just got up at 6 or right before, I would have to get up before to get ready to exercise, but if you do it a few times, you will feel sooooooo good. Plus you usually get solid sleep and I just know you would feel good if you did it. I enjoyed talking to my cousin. We live close, but our lives are just different. She does have two kids and she's almost 27, but she still lives differently. I do so much enjoy talking to her, we were soooo close in high school. Her son is 5 and daughter is 1 so I would love our kids to get together. Although she was calling with bad news last night. But we did decide to meet for lunch soon. And she's one of those that is probably still a size 0 after the two kids, YUCK!!!

Leigh, I'm so glad dh is home. Did you know he was coming home or did he surprise you? Have fun. Yes I did go to walmart and then dh didn't go fishing and got home like right after us and I had to throw dinner together quickly. But that's okay.

Cindi, sorry to hear about Hope. I hope she feels better. That's what Andrew had and he's doing better and I keep forgetting to give him his medicine, shame on me.

Jae, your little boy is soooooooooo cute and makes me so ready for my little one, what's his name?

Hello to Geri, Ricci, Jill, Kristin, Mel, Michelle, Jaymi, and everyone else I missed. Hope you had a great night.

Well, my cousin called to tell me that a guy we went to school with, he was one year older than me and so cute and so sweet, was in a car accident and is supposedly paralyzed. She didn't know many details, she's suppose to be getting them and then calling me. She also told be about her son having a siezure. They don't know why and they are running tests. So scary.

Dh and his family, it's the family business he works for, are thinking baout going to Florida to see if they can get work after this hurricane stuff. Either contracts to build houses or just to do the electrical. I'll find out today if he leaves tomorrow to go for about a week or so. It's exciting, I told him if he gets there and theres lots of work then me and the kids will follow and stay with him a while. I'll let y'all know about that.

I guess that's all thats been going on here. I'll let y'all know when I know about the Fl. thing. I'm staying home today and going to school.
Checklist:
laundry
dust
scrub bathroom
breakfast, lunch, dinner
clean kitchen x2
sweep
vaccum
nap
I think that's it for today. I'll talk to you all later. Hope everyone had a great night and has a great day.

melmcc99 08-18-2004 08:31 AM

Morning All. Ya know I wonder why my head is mushy and why I don't have any momentum to exercise. Do you think it's because this little bugga gets up every hour???LOL I feel so S l o w today. Anybody with boys have trouble with diapers on them. I put the diaper as loose as I can, but sometimes he tells me his PEEPEE is stuck. I think he just doesn't like things touching his little thing. I've been using pull up during the day, only because it doesn't seem to bother him as much, but at night, they don't hold enough.

Crystal, if DH is going to FL for a while to do work, It would be nice for you to go, I just hope it'l be nice for you and not in a bad area where much has been destroyed.

Spryng, I know how hard it is to get the kids to clean, or do anything sometimes. I do find when it's a big mess, DD just doensn't know how to begin. If I start and just do a little she can finish up.

Jill, I hope you got lots of work done last night. Don't feel bad about being in a good relationship. It's a wonderful thing! I know what you mean though. SO many of my friend are in bad relationships or have been with their husbands and mine with DH is so wonderful...He's my pal and my soul mate. Next month we'll be together 12 years. I'm planning an overnight. I hope it works out. I want to Surprise him.

Jaymi, I know what you mean about a head ache......uhhhhh. I hope you feel better. Sorry, If I ever spell your name wrong here. Bad habit. My husband is JAMIE....that's the answer to the QOTD

mompen 08-18-2004 08:37 AM

Good Morning Ladies,

It is 7:30 here and everybody is up and Adam this am. Getting back on the school routine

Crystal,
Where are ya'll gonna stay? in a hotel? Please let us know :)

Mel,
I am so sorry Patrick isn't sleeping :( I haven't heard about the diaper thing before? Have you tried the Huggies overnights? not sure :(

QOTD: Brad

Well I gotta get off here and do the million and one things I have planned for today....gggrrrrr...

Have a good day!

watkinsguru 08-18-2004 08:46 AM

I would have no idea about the FL. thing. If I go, it would be in several weeks after he's already there and getting settled. Plus right now there's probably not many hotel vacancies. It would be when things start to settle a little. Nothing may come of this, we'll have to wait and see.
Mel, sorry about ds not sleeping well. Been there done that and still do it sometimes. I understand completely.

spryng 08-18-2004 09:48 AM

Good morning all!

Well I feel much better today. I did tape those two denise austin workouts so I'm excited to do this (at least one of them) ths afternoon.
Today I have lots of cleaning planned. I'll be doing my normal stuff and the kids rooms and some laundry, etc. Dinner tonight will be crock pot chicken indonesian. What are you all having?
QOTD-- Joseph Clement (and he the 3rd) he wanted to name one of our boys the 4th and I refused. I really think kids should have their own original name, so we compromised with Joseph Paul (bubba) so he is named after Joe (my dh) and my grandpa.

Angel, Tanner doesn't take a bottle at night... do you mean to bed with him?? No, never has. He does take a pacifier though, but I'll get to that one after breaking him from the bottle. Mostly he wants his bottle when he gets up and after nap time. Those will be hard to break him of. And let us know about those recipe books! I just LOVE new recipe books.

Penny, what all are you going to be doing today? Sounds like you have a busy day planned.

Mel, I hope you get some energy today. I would feel terrible too if I wokeup constantly through the night. Maybe you can get a nap today? I laughed when I read about the pee pee being stuck, LOL. Bubba never had a problem wearing diapers, Tanner likes to grab himself during every changing though, like he has to check and see if it's still there, lol. It cracks me up sometimes. And you are right about the cleaning... I realized that must be the case last night. They must feel overwhelmed with what a mess their rooms are. So I will clean them today and then will just add 15 min to our bedtime routine so they can pick them back up every night. That should be much easier for them.

Crystal, in theory getting up at 6 am sounds soo good! But in reality I would have to get up at like 5:45 am because I'd need to use the bathroom, get changed into exercise clothes, etc before I could begin and never in my life have I got up earlier than the kids and of course pre- kids (I can barely remember, lol) I would sleep until noon or after every day. I've just never been a morning person. But I figure as long as I get exercise in then it shouldn't matter when I do it... so nap time will be workout time for me. I used to do it after the kids went to bed at night but lately I'm just so tired by 9 pm that I have no energy for it, so for now it will be around 1 pm. That sounds exciting about the florida thing! I hope your dh hears something soon!

Well, I'm off here to get my morning routine going. TTYL!

Loveliam 08-18-2004 10:33 AM

G'day :D
QOTD: Karim Jonathan. His father was an anthroplogist and his parents were over in Syria doing fieldwork when he was conceived, hence the name Karim.

Cindi- sorry the kids are sick :( A speedy recovery for them! I'm glad you got mad if it motivated you :) You'll see, you'll hit 190 in no time and need a new mini-goal.

Spryng- your room maintenance idea sounds good for the kids. I really like In the Jury Room - it's very interesting to see the deliberation process - last week's was better than this week's, but still good. I think you should workout whenever it's easiest for you.

Angel- man, I used to swear by Luvs, but they just changed them. So I tried pampers this week (they're the same company) and they're exactly how Luvs used to be . . . not sure if they switched designs or what happened. Liam's never done well with Huggies though - I think it's all how your baby is shaped  I also tried every generic brand . . . Let us know if those recipes are good.

Morning, Crystal! Now, if you're running out of questions, we could always donate some to you  Nice job on the sleep. DH did call in the afternoon to tell me he was coming home. He doesn't surprise me- I think because I get nervous about him flying all the time and I like to know when to expect him, etc. Sorry to hear about your HS friend - that's terrible. Also, I hope you're cousin's son is okay and they figure out what's causing the siezures :( :( Definitely keep us posted about the FL stuff!

Mel- haven't had any diaper issues with Liam yet, but he doesn't talk, so maybe that's why he hates diaper changes, but just can't tell me :D Happy almost-anniversary!

Penny- what kinds of things are you doing- stuff around the casa?

Our internet connection is down AGAIN - I have no idea what's going on this week - maybe they're working on something in their system. So, I'm using DH's buisness connection. Slower because it's over phone lines, but at least I'm online :D

When DH gets home today, I'll go to the grocery store just in time for my start over day tomorrow. Ya'll are probably thinking, "Yeah, right. You keep saying you're starting over, but then you slip." But this time I am. I'm getting a points bracelet from some super-nice person on this thread shhh . . . it's spryng and you might have noticed a new 20lb reward in my sig box - I'm only about 7 lbs away from the 20lb loss . . .

And I am going to exercise today. I'll do Sweating in the Spirit . . .

Deana1113 08-18-2004 10:41 AM

Good morning ladies !!!

I've been trying to practice for school with bedtimes and getting up early, then last night had to go meet my brother like halfway to get oldest and dd back. He worked late so it was like after 10 before we got home and after 11 before kids settled down to sleep. Then I stayed up til 1.....I'm bad :o Oh well, dh is off work for the next 2 nights so back to routine.

Plan for the day: Take oldest for haircut then to take written exam for driver's permit....OMG where did the years go. Everyone else here is talking about little ones, and some days I feel soooooo old here. :p
Going to walk while we're out and if I feel up to it maybe again this afternoon after dh gets up.
Have to unload and load dishwasher atleast once today, maybe twice.
May take kids to McDonald's for lunch. I will be good and have a salad but need to look up calorie content on the chicken ones. I love salads.....my mom is worried if I eat too many that I will miss alot of nutritional value.....I try to put things on it like salmon or shrimp, chicken.....things that have value. Told mom not to worry.
I HAVE to get dd's clothes put away today....they were stacking up in the laundry room so I finally went through them and got out what she didnt' really need. Now I just have to get them in drawers.

QOTD: Scott

Sorry if I dont' address all posts from yesterday, I can barely remember anything anyone asked me in them.

Spryng: Lunch yesterday ended up being a salad with canned salmon, almond accents, and italian dressing....not too bad.

I have to tell you all.....I had bought a huge locally grown cantaloupe at the store on Saturday. I finally cut it yesterday and OMG that is the BEST cantaloupe I have ever tasted. Just so sweet and juicy. Gooing to see if they have any more today, makes a great snack and one and a half cups is only 100 calories.
And not to mention that only half the kids like it.....less I have to share..... ;)

Well not getting anything done sitting here. Kids are about done with breakfast....yes we slept in today :D then we hit the road.

Check in later. Have a Great OP Day All !!!

watkinsguru 08-18-2004 10:43 AM

Hello all. Just wanted to pop in before we start school and let you all know what I've done so far.
Breakfast and cleaned kitchen
swept
laundry in washer
bathroom scrubbed.
We're gonna school, then have lunch, then I'll dust and vaccum.

Spryng, you are right, it's easier said than done. About getting up early. But I couldn't function well if I didn't get up earlier than the kids. I'm always moody if that happens. But I HATE getting up early to exercise. That does NOT work for me. Wish you luck on the exercising.

Leigh, I'll will keep you all posted. Glad dh is home.

TTYL.
P.S. I'm already tired, I guess from getting up at 530, huh???

watkinsguru 08-18-2004 10:50 AM

Just found out that dh is leaving out on Saturday morning for Florida. He, his grandpa and my MIL's hubby. They'll be gone all of next week to assess the work and see if they can get some scheduled. Then we'll know if there's work to send a crew or not. So, i've never ever been without dh more than a weekend, so this will be weird.
TTYL

spryng 08-18-2004 11:09 AM

Just taking a quick break... my bathrub is soaking in cleaner and I'm about to go scrub it, even got my toothbrush out! (well not MY toothbrush, lol.. the one I use to clean with) I washed all the baseboards in the bathroom and as soon as the tub is washed then that room is done! I also caught up my dishes and have dinner in the crockpot. I still want to sweep the kithen, pick up the living room, and then attack those kids rooms. I figure I can be done with everything by 11:30 at the latest.

Crystal, who knows, you may enjoy your dh being gone for a week! I know I like having the house to myself and to do what I want without running every detail by dh. Gives you a real sense of independance. Not that I don't miss him, I'm just used to it. But hopefully he'll make really good money and it will all be worth the time away.

Deana, sometimes some salads can have more cals than a burger so be careful on that one. And I'm glad you slept in! Why practice for school anyway? lol... you'll be doing it for real soon and I'm sure it will go just fine.

Leigh, I LOVE your dh's name! So unique. And there is a super nice person on this thread!!?? LOL! Where?? LOL! I was so happy to do it for you. I know you are going to be back OP and go all the way this time!

Well, time is up for me. Better go scrub that tub. TTYL!

Jaymi_Dol_78 08-18-2004 11:23 AM

Hello everyone! Today is the dreaded Doctor's appt! I hate getting pap smears... Not like you asked for all that info!! :lol3: But I just hate it! I don't know why.... that's one thing I don't miss about being pregnant. Anyway the worst part is I have to go with both of my kids.... I have no idea how that is going to work out.. but we'll see! Anyways my daughter is pulling on my arm while I'm trying to type... that is her new thing now!! Anyways I gotta get ready now, I have a new list to make for today.. but I can't really make it until I get back from the doctor. Right now I have to take a shower, pack the baby bag, and get the kids ready, by that time it will be time to go. I havent gotten any exercise done, any breakfast or anything.. But I don't have any money so I need to eat before I leave anyways. Let's see, my house looks like a tidal wave hit it!! To say I've been cleaning it for 2 days, you can't tell at all! My daughter asks me for her bottle then makes me chase her around to give it to her.. she's so silly. Anyways time is flying by and I need to get started... I'll get personal when I get back.... but since I'm here:
QOTD- Derrick Dewayne

Oh well, I hope everyone is having a great start today! I'm going to mention my headaches to my doctor. Talk to you all later! ~Jaymi

Loveliam 08-18-2004 11:35 AM

Deana- sounds like you're still making excellent choices. I wouldn't worry too much about the salads- I mena, that isn't the only thing you eat in a day, right?

Crystal- glad DH is getting some work in FL. The people there can really use the help, and DH and family get some extra work in, which is good for everyone. It's funny, I have much more of a set routine when DH is out of town. When he's here, it's more spontaneous- both have advantages and disadvantages :)

Spryng- well, I do appreciate the bracelet a lot. It's my new start symbol :D Ohhh, that tub is going to sparkle!

Jaymi- LOL - there are a lot of things I liked about being pregnant, and missing the dreaded exam was one of them. Also, no TOM!!! Actually, I loved being pregnant. Wish they bottled that feeling- it just really agreed with me and my emotions. Let us know what the doc says about your headaches.

Well, Liam's new furniture is in, so I'm trying to arrange for delivery. But DH and I need to take apart the bed in that room and eventually (hopefully sooner rather than later) donate it to Salvation Army along with a bunch of other stuff. Also, I'd like to do a pedicure during one of Liam's naps today, but we'll see.

BIGtimeLOSER 08-18-2004 12:06 PM

Morning Gals!

I have gotten alot done today. I am making food for the group again this week and it REALLY is my week. I have done two loads of laundry, showered and taken kids where they go so far, but I still want to get my room clean today.

Deana...You are not old, I have an 18yo!!

Leigh...Glad you are restarting...I got on the scale this AM again...grrrr! But it is TOM, so hopefully I didn't gain all that weight from my "naked run through the jungle" the past couple of weeks! We will see! I will weigh again on Friday and see what it says, since that's really my day anyway.

Spryng...but your house is shining this week. I am getting there and really gonna work hard the next few days to have a clean house. Hope went back to school, so no one is in my lap today! WOOO HOOOO

Well, gonna have some lunch and clean some bathrooms! I will be back this afternoon sometimes!

Have a great day!

Love ya!

Loveliam 08-18-2004 12:39 PM

Hmmm - things seem to be more slowly than usual - what's the deal??? LOL.

Cindi- TOM is the worst. But once you get on the scale tomorrow, it will be over and then you can move forward from there, right :) ? I'm WI tomorrow too.

Well, not too much going on here. Liam is asleep. I'm trying to figure out if it's better to work out during his next nap, or while he's awake. Maybe while he's awake :)

Chubba 08-18-2004 12:59 PM

Well, it's 6 min to noon so I can still say goodmorning ladies! :coffee:

QOTD...Dean Arlen

Mel...have you tried Goodnites? I can't remember who makes them but they're like a pull up and hold oh so much more!!!

Spryng...it's about 1 hour away from exercise time...are you ready???? ;)

Cindi...I got mad too! 5 pounds in 3 weeks was rediculous to me. I worked too hard to take it off to put it right back on.

Leigh..I never liked Huggies either. I always had leaking problems with them. I do like the overnites though.

Well, Mom's here so I'm off to the grocery store. Did my 3 mile walk this morning and washed all the bedding. It's hanging outside :) . Also did another load of clothes so I feel like something got accomplished today.

Did pretty good last night. I did eat some wheat thins last night but since the boca burger on a bun was only 2 pts...I know why I was hungry last night  . Next time I'll have 2 ;) . Still not sure what's for dinner tonight. I'll decide while at the store.

Have a wonderful day and a big hello to everyone else!!

watkinsguru 08-18-2004 01:13 PM

Hi all. School is over and waiting for Andrew to wake up so I can fix lunch. After lunch, we've got to run to town and drop off some of dh's clothes and the cleaners and get them ready for Florida. I think I'll run to mom's and put up her curtains as a surprise to her.
I'm trying to figure out how to work my routine into not having dh coming home next week. I mean all day is worked up to getting ready for dh to come home. We do our regular stuff and at around 4 everyday, we start dinner and pick up the livingroom and vaccum, but I won't be making big dinners because just me and the kids won't eat that much. I'll probably rent some movies and watch ALOT next week, alot of those chick flicks that dh can't stand. I'm worried for Andrew to not be able to see his daddy and wrestle with him like they do EVERY night. Andrew loves that and is such a daddy's boy. I know, most of you have dh's that work out of town, but this is totally new to us.
I'm just blabbering. Gonna go eat some lunch myself, ttyl.

jae 08-18-2004 01:14 PM

Good morning!

QOTD: Eric

Crystal: Thank you! His name is Dominic. He is such a joy to have around! Enjoy your pregnancy, I loved being pregnant, it just felt like I wasn't pregnant long enough!! I wouldn't recommend skipping the last trimester to anyone!! LOL!

Mel: I totally laughed about your son being stuck! How sweetly funny. I always think that having a son is going to be quite an adventure!

Spryng: If you can get up and stay up at 6 am, you are my hero! I get up with DH to make his lunch and feed little D, but then I have to take a quick cat nat to make it the rest of the day. I suppose when D starts to sleep through the night, I won't need the cat nap any more. And to answer you about dinner: Tacos. My honey's fave meal.

Well, I'm off to do my morning routine. 'till next time...

~j

Loveliam 08-18-2004 01:26 PM

Hi again all :) Liam's still asleep, but waking soon.

Geri- I'm also going grocery shopping later and will decide about dinners this week then

Crystal- it will be interesting to see how the kids react to DH being gone . . .

Jae- hope your morning routine is going well.

Okay, I'm off again. I may have lunch when Liam wakes up and then work out. Or maybe in reverse? We'll see-

watkinsguru 08-18-2004 01:38 PM

Jae, you've only had one. I HATE being pregnant with a passion and the last trimester is the worst. However, that's not the same for everyone. My mom LOVED being pregnant. But I was SOOOO not ready to go through this again.
Thanks.

mompen 08-18-2004 02:22 PM

Hi Ladies!

The boards do seem slow today but that seems everybody is getting things done right...

Andrew just went down for his nap and the boys are resting so I figured... Exercise, the last load of laundry and cleaning the bathrooms.... Yeah Spryng, you talked me into it.....lol

Crystal,
Is your mom gonna be able to help you any with the kids? We all know how hard it is to have kids alone. I wish I could come help you :) Are you going to eventually go?

Leigh,
That is so nice of Spryng to make you a bracelet! Awesome! I know you can do this!!! And the reward will seem PRETTY nice :)

Jae,
you avator is soooo cute! Your little one looks like a joy! Have you joined our community on msn yet? I haven't been there to check it out in a few days

Geri,
How is it that you exercise everyday? I wanna be YOU!!!!! Can you be the exercise for the rest of us???? :?:

Cindi,
It must be bathroom day :( Hope you get your rooms done ;)

Deana,
You are too funny about the sharing the cantelople...lol I know I spelled that wrong..... Are you still getting in your water???

Spryng,
Ok the toothbrush today? You are gonna make me feel bad! LOL What did the kiddos have for lunch today?

Jaymi,
I hope the dr is not too bad today :(

Ok I am gonna run so I make sure I get my exercise in today! Have a great one!

I made it through another day running errands with all the kids :) And they were really good today so that was a plus! :)

TTYL! :)

I will be exercising if anyone wants to join me!!!!!

spryng 08-18-2004 03:06 PM

Hello again!

Well I just finished up my exercise!!! I'm so psyked about it. It was two 30 min workouts, the first was fit and lite... a yoga light cardio workout and then a cardio workout with weights and an ab workout. Boy am I going to feel it tomorrow, lol. But I like that I will get variety if I tape her shows each day. I just hate the commercials, so I probably got in 40 min worth if you take out the commercials. But it felt really good!!
I did get all my house work done so I feel so good about that, I even crocheted a little. Haven't done that in about 3-4 days now.

Penny, what kind of exercise are you doing?? Didn't mean to make you feel bad about the toothbrush, lol.. I just can never get into the corners around the bathtub without it! LOL. The kids had chili mac for lunch (out of the can :o ) But I will be grocery shopping on friday and plan on getting them some great stuff for some variety. Since I make them eat what I eat for dinner, which is healthy stuff with lots of veggies, I thought I could splurge a little for lunch on them and make things they like and would really enjoy, you know? I had left over meat loaf and broccoli for lunch and dinner is smelling so great in the crockpot!

Leigh, what are you doing for exercise today? I am like you when dh is out of town, I have very specific routines and when he's home everything goes, lol. I love monday's for that reason. If I'm out of my routine too long I start to get crabby *me crabby??lol... bet you can't believe that, lol

Jae, I love being pregnant too, especially once you get past that first trimester... so tell us more about your pregnancy! Why did he arrive so early? How much did he weigh? Was he in the hospital long? My dh is a taco fanatic too, lol.

Crystal, I'm sure you will stay so busy next week it will fly by for you. And the kids will adapt.

Geri, how long does it take you to do that 3 mi workout?? And triscuits are pretty healthy so that was a good choice. And yes I was ready for my workout today. As soon as the kids went down for their nap I popped that video in and got busy! I don't know if I'll work out tomorrow because I know I will be sore... but maybe I can get a walk in or something. I really just aiming for 3 x's a week right now, not everyday. I always burn myself out if I do it everyday at first. I need to build up to it. You know?

Cindi, I am here if you want another flylady challenge!! Just IM me!

Jaymi, hope your doctor visit goes well. What do you do with the kids while there? And I hope you get some relief for those headaches.

Well, guess I'll get off here. I think Geri was right... I'm not one bit sleepy right now!! Maybe I won't need naps much longer!!So now what do I do with this time?? LOL

Loveliam 08-18-2004 03:23 PM

Okay gals- a quick afternoon post and then off to the showers for me (and to give the computer a break LOL). Internet connection is still odd today - very frustrating! Well, I did my workout- Sweating in the Spirit. It's a fun dance workout- about 30 minutes. It's kind of between low and medium impact.

Crystal- wonder if you'll feel different this pregnancy.

Penny- :cheer: on the exercise!!! Glad the kiddies were good for errands.

Spryng- :bravo: on the exercise! We're all doing well in that department today :D I know what you mean about DH and routines. When DH first returns, I'm thrilled to see him, but it also takes me a day to adjust LOL.

Okay- have to go. TTYL

jae 08-18-2004 04:18 PM

Good afternoon!!

Penny-Thanks, Dominic is a joy-how did I make it before he came? LOL No, I haven't joined the community-how do you do that?

Spryng-I loved being pregnant, but due to certain curcumstances I was on pins and needles the whole time as well. I have a weak cervix. At my 19 week US, they noticed how short it was and it was too late to stitch it, so they put me on light duty. The next day it was even shorter, so I got put on bed rest-about 5 weeks at home, and 10 days in the hospital. It was a godsend to be put in the hospital-I didn't have to stare at messy piles that would drive me mad because I couldn't do anything about them!! LOL

On 5-29-04 I was dialated to 5 cm and started contracting. I went from 5 cm to 6 with in 5 minutes. The Drs tried to stop labor, but anything they'd give me wouldn't work. D was delivered by emergency c-section weighing 2lbs, 12 oz and 14 1/2 inches long. He was 27 1/2 weeks gestation and in perfect health. He spent 6 weeks in the NICU and now is home with us and growing like a weed! On Monday's check up he was 7 lbs, 7 oz and 19 1/4 in long!!

It is very strange at times to look at him and think that he'd still be in my tummy for 2 more weeks. :D

Well everyone, have a great evening. It's time for me to do a rescue on this office. It looks like a paper factory blew up in here!

watkinsguru 08-18-2004 04:36 PM

Hi all. Just got back from town. Dropped off clothes at the cleaners and went to mom's to put up her curtains. They are so pretty. I'm fixing to start dinner and such. Never got a nap in and clothes are still in the dryer. It threw me off having to go to town.
Penny, if dh finds alot of work there, then yes we would eventually go. I don't know if we would MOVE there or just stay a little bit at a time. Might depend on how much we like it there. I would have to know what the homeschool laws are to help my decision. But this is alot in the future. We're just gonna hang in there for this next week to see what they find.
I guess if they don't come across any work, then dh will have had a GREAT vacation, huh?
Okay, gotta get off for now.

need2losemore 08-18-2004 05:19 PM

Hello everyone,
Well, Eric started kindergarten today, and I cried once I got back out to the car. Today has been completely off plan. Dh,RJ and I went to TGIFridays for lunch, because my grandma sent us a gift card. I had a club sandwich, and then the oreo madness for dessert. Luckily I possessed some self control and ate only 1 of the oreos, and took the other one to my mom. Anyway, I am going to exercise a little later on. We've been gone all day.
QOTD: My dh name is Richard. So, we have Richard, Ricci, and Richard Jr.(RJ)
My dad's name is also Richard, but he isn't involved in the family anymore. Have a great evening.

CheriBrorsen 08-18-2004 05:23 PM

Happy Wednesday...

Hey ladies~

I'm about to leave (fixing to leave for those of you in the South ;) to get groceries but wanted to drop by for a quick post. I just got home from taking the boys for haircuts. I took them to a real barber shop this time and their hair looks AWESOME. BUT it was $36...:dizzy:..twelve dollars a piece...holy smoley.

Spryng--have you every had your iron checked? With your tireness and need for a daily nap you may have low iron levels or something with your thyroid, it's worth getting checked ...you need energy with your little ones. And I totally agree, get the kids room to a workable point before expecting them to have a clue as to where to start. For kids its overwhelming but if you can have a place for everything and can direct them in that it should help with having them clean up.

Leigh--woo hoo on DH being home. :) I know you must be so happy.

Mel--I use Luvs and Pampers with Elijah but the Huggies OVERNIGHTS are awesome if you have a heavy wetter. One of my boys is completely trained in the day and has been since they were 3 but is still a very very heavy wetter at night...so we use goodnights on him. Those are great too.

Michelle--your living room looks great and it was nice to see you checking in.

Ok...I know I left many out...Penny, Cyndi, Jaymi, Kris, Ricci etc etc etc...hello to yall too. :) I'm off to get groceries...more later. :)

spryng 08-18-2004 05:45 PM

I'm back!!

Well just finished up dinner. It was different, don't think I'd make it again. But the kids ate it really good so maybe I should make it again sometime, lol. But I am stuffed! Crockpot chicken indonesian, 1 cup brown rice, broccoli, and baked sweet potato.. that was alot of food but was only 11 pts for everything! So that was good. I have one pt left for the day. I have to run some movies back in a little while, they are due today.

Cheri, my iron has always been good. i think it's just because I'm so out of shape that I get tired. Who knows. I've always been one that needs alot of sleep... I'm still feeling ok from not having a nap today but I know come 8-9 pm I'm going to be dead! LOL. But that is ok... I'll hit the sack early tonight. Have fun grocery shopping!

Ricci, I would cry too!! I am not looking forward to next year when Ava starts school... but she is! Did RJ miss him?? I'm so afraid bubba will be lose without her.. they are like twins.

Crystal, is your dh excited and optimistic about this trip?? I hope only for the best!

Jae, thanks so much for sharing D's story with us! That would be weird having your baby already for several weeks and your due date isn't even here! Are you wanting more babies?? I never went early with my kids. Doctor said I was built to have a dozen, lol. I don't know if we'll have anymore or not.. at least not for 4 more years anyway.

Leigh yes we are doing great with our exercise today!! I'm so proud of everyone! And I forgot how much I like denise austin... she gives little tips and such all through the workout and I like them.

Well guess I will take those dvd's back. TTYL!

watkinsguru 08-18-2004 06:55 PM

Spryng, I think dh is somewhat excited about the trip. I think he's excited to find so much potentials there. I'm excited because it could be our answer about the house situation. I mean, we haven't heard anything yet and I still don't think we should build and maybe if this Florida thing works out, that may be the answer. I don't know. I'm just trying to find the positives too.
Just finished dinner, now gotta go clean kitchen and get clothes out of dryer.
TTYL

melmcc99 08-18-2004 09:20 PM

Hey Everyone. Better day today, I spent the day at my Dad with the kids and my sister and step mom. Not a bad food day at all, but no exercise...Oh well. I was down another .5 from last week though. That brings me to 205 today.. I guess I'm not doing too bad.

I have to make this quick.

Jaymi, hope the Dr. appt went well. Taking the kids to the GYN is not a fun or easy task.

LEigh, Oh new furniture for Liam will be so much fun! I loved when we got dd's.

Penny ....GOOD FOR U on the exercise.

ALL OF YOU ABOUT GOODNIGHTS. Last time I checked they weren't in his size, but since you all told me about them again, I will give em' a shot...THanks for the advise. It is so funny when he tells me that...LOL

Jae, My son was a Preemie too. Not as early as your's and not so small either. He was six weeks early. MY DH was born at 2.5 lbs though. But back then it wasn't so good. 3months in the hospital. My grandmother was also 2.5lbs in 1923. Imagine that. Does your little one make barn like sounds. It's very common for preemies to make grunting sounds like a lamb or something. It always made me nervouse, but it took about 2 months to stop...I am so happy for you that it all worked about well. My dr. never listened to me about my contrations and I also ended up with an emergency C-section. Bugga was on a C-pap and stomach tube and IV in his head and all. Uhhh the horrible memories. BUt I look at him now and he is HUGE. He is not 2 yet and almost 30lbs. If you ever want to talk...LMK. I bet you'll need synergist this year, for his lungs/RSV season is approaching.

Anyway, have a good night all. I hope my little guy sleeps, he wouldn't eat anything again for dinner, not even chicken nuggets or grilled cheese or a cracker. It's going to be a long night.

melmcc99 08-18-2004 09:24 PM

Oh yeh, just one more thing, since many of you talked about your pregnancies. Despite the fact that I was sick to the point of losing 12 lbs and being put on an infusion pump in my leg with medication to help me from getting sick 24hours a day and having both of my kids early; somehow, I still loved being pregnant. Don't get me wrong, the pregnancies were horrible, but just knowing there was life inside of me was the most amazing feeling. But I do not want to do it again.

Loveliam 08-18-2004 09:59 PM

Happy night :D Well, tomorrow is the big one for me- WI and start over. I went to the grocery store when DH got home, so I'm all set. We had fajitas for dinner . . .

Jae- your pregnancy/birth story is scary. I'm glad everything ended up okay, but not fun to go through.

Crystal- LOL at the image of DH just hanging out in FL at the beach! I'm sure he'll find work . . . if you do move to FL (I know, it's still a remote possibility), I could meet you because we're frequently down on the west coast visiting the in-laws :)

Ricci- ohhh, I'm sorry about you crying when Eric went to school :( I already know I'm going to be a complete mess when it's time.

Cheri- my best friend says the same thing about barber shop cuts for her son- it always looks awesome, but is super expensive. I think she only can afford it for special occasions. Are Huggies overnights only for older kids?

Spryng- dinner sounds super good! I'm so bad about cooking. I like the easiest, most convenient thing.

Melissa- sorry there was no success with dinner :( Liam had french toast sticks and ice cream . . . I swear he definitely inherited MY sweet tooth - poor guy is doomed! Of course, he'll also have bottle on top of that.

Okay, I am off for the night. Got an email from our internet provider apologizing for all the technical difficulties. They had to upgrade software or something, so hopefully my service will be back to normal.

watkinsguru 08-18-2004 09:59 PM

Good Night.
Well you all know how I feel about being pregnant. Despite the fact I'm on my 4th I really hate being pregnant but I understand that it is a blessing and there are women that can't get pregnant and I feel so bad for those ladies. I think it's an amazing thing to go through, but I just physically hate being pregnant.

Anyways, for some reason tonight I was getting really, really tired of the tattling, the fighting, picking, crying, screaming, and so on and so on. My mom just sort of ticked me off, not bad but enough to effect my mood.
The kids are in bed and dh isn't home from fishing yet so I'm enjoying this bit of quite time and I didn't get a nap earlier so I'm hoping to go to bed soon. I'm gonna stay home tomorrow and besides school and my usuals, I'm gonna do another load or two of laundry.
My hands are beginning to get so dry and cracked. Not that that was of any importance, just thought I'd share.
Mel, wtg on being down another .5, that is really great.
Spryng, sorry dinner wasn't as good as you'd hoped. Isn't that the way it goes, you don't care for it but the kids do.
Hello to Jill, Geri, Ricci, Michelle, Mindee, Angel, Cheri and everyone else I missed.
Btw, school has been going really well this week. I know it's still the first week of school, but I've been enjoying it and I think Alisa has too. She gets tired after the first hour, it usually takes us an hour and a half, but I had to inform her that if she went to real public school, she'd be there ALL day and would hate it. Then she's okay after that.
I guess I'll get off here and find something to watch on tv to slow me down. Hope everyone has a great night.
TTYL

Chubba 08-18-2004 09:59 PM

Good evening ladies,

Mel.. so sorry you were so sick during your pregnancies. I only got sick one time and that was from taking the prenatal on an empty stomach. As soon as I threw it back up I felt fine. I LOVED being pregnant...well except for eating everything in sight  .

Crystal.. hope all goes well with you being alone next week. What exactly does Dh's family business entail? I don't think they'll be having much of a vacation while down there according to all the news reports. Pretty nasty stuff :( . Can he call Andrew everynight and just talk to him? I let the boys talk to Dh during the day when he calls. Of course...they don't say too much :) but they love to hear his voice.

Spryng..congrats on the exercise!! Woo hoo... one day down, the rest of your life to go! It takes me 40 min to do the WATP 3 mi and almost an hour to do the 4 mi. I sometimes have to pause and go break the boys up or like today I had to try to clean the vitamin residue that Tony was drooling all over the floor. :( Guess he didn't like the red one! Sometimes they let me get through the whole thing uninterrupted.

Leigh & Penny..congrats to you too! :D

Cheri... had to chuckle at your "fixin" to go to the grocery store. We don't say that way up north here :D . I just cut Tony's hair tonight...what a wiggle worm! It would be worth the $12 to have someone else cut it...aww who am I kidding! I'm too cheap  . He is only 15 months old and his hair's curly so you can't tell what a bad job I do.

Ricci... at least you made it to the car before crying. I'd probably be bawling the minute I woke up! Congrats on forgoing the 2nd oreo. Don't think I would be able to do it.

Jae..Interesting and scarey story re D! Thanks for sharing. My hairdresser also had a preemie and it didn't take him long to catch up. Boys are a lot of fun...but can get into so much trouble... I have 2 so DOUBLE TROUBLE   .

Hi to Michelle (missing you!), Melinda, Jaymi, Cindi, Deana, Angel... everyone else I missed :p .

Dinner was very low fat turkey with gravy, rice pilaf, carrots, green beans and a salad.

Have a wonderful evening. I have some work I have to do before I head upstairs for my snack of light ice cream.

Chubba 08-18-2004 10:02 PM

Leigh... Huggies overnites are like regular diapers and come in the normal sizes. The Goodnites are like pullups and come in the larger/training pants sizes.

Have a great night!

Bayleysmom 08-18-2004 10:05 PM

Hey everyone! Just thought I would pop in and post since I have a little time. Not really that many posts compared to how it usually is! It must be because I am gone!! I can't wait to get back here! I have been staying organized and picking up after myself (and others LOL) this week but no challenges or anything so I will be anxious to get back to flylady routines. I think I will try and do the whole bathroom zone this weekend so I don't feel like I missed so much. I'm doing really good on plan because I can only eat what I pack in my lunch and I make sure and pack only stuff I am supposed to eat. I will be interested to see how I did this week since I didn't work out but kept on plan.

Well I made this really sick dinner tonight. It was a broccoli turkey bake out of one of my cookbooks and it was sooooooooooooooooooooooo gross!! Dh would have eaten it I think but I wasn't even about to. It would have been good I think if it were chicken instead of turkey but blech! Anyway now we are both hungry and I don't want to re-do dinner so I'm not sure what we are going to do.

Well I hope everyone is doing good! Mel I liked your new pics! Beautiful family! I need to go get back to my homework. TTYL!!

CheriBrorsen 08-18-2004 11:07 PM

All is quiet

Here at home so I thought I'd post. :)

Geri--usually people do thing ''fixing to'' do something is funny to hear, if they aren't used to it. :) It's like Coke....in the south Coke is universal...it means coke, pepsi, dr. pepper, sprite, it's whatever you drink. :) I have cut the boys hair here and there in the past. But all my boys have blonde hair, straigh blonde hair, and so if you make any sort of gauge or mis snip well it shows. LOL (ask me how I know :)

Leigh--I went to huggies.com and they make them in size 3, 4 and 5 (the overnights) I used them with my oldest because he was such a heavy wetter and would be wet each morning. They are awesome. :) http://www.huggies.com/na/products/overnites.asp Yes that is the most I've ever paid for their haircuts. Back in GA we had found an awesome lady and it was $5 a piece, so $ 15 for them all. And my boys have to get cuts every 4-5 weeks or it looks really scraggly...I'm not sure we'll be doing the barber shop everytime...unless Donald works some overtime or nightshifts.

Spryng--I hear you on enjoying sleep before kids I was very much a night owl and would sleep till noon thirty the next day. But God gave me three kiddos that were not the best of sleepers and he's also enabled me to be able to function at capacity on about 4 hrs sleep if necessary. I sometimes miss those late mornings in bed though. ;) I used to do Denise Austin on lifetime a good bit, I enjoy her too.

Crystal--Have you heard/seen the Zim's Crack cream? They have it at Target and Walmart and it is AWESOME for dry cracked skin A-W-E-S-O-M-E. http://www.crackcreme.com/ Also Kerasol is good stuff, it's more pricey than the Zim's and I didn't notice a huge difference in results. But it was good too.http://www.kerasal.com/index_co.asp?siteID=233 It's for feet, but I also use is on my cuticles etc. :)

My mind is now offically blank...lol. My inlaws come in this weekend for a few days and then next week I have to finalize prep for school to start on the 30th. :) We've been watching the Olympics and Nathan can identify a lot of the countries flags it's neat to see your kids learn things like that. :) Speaking of Nathan has decided he wants to take gymnastics one day. So yeah, that's $60 a month, and I have three kids so lets see between $180 a month for gymnastics and $36 a month for haircuts we'll be broke. I took my measurments and lost 5 inches overall last month. 1 from thighs/2 from waist/2 from chest. Not bad considering I only did pilates three full weeks. Last week I mostly walked and only did pilates one or two days. Also my eating was off last week (meaning from Friday through today). I've decided to still watch sugar and carbs but to follow something more like WW or just ''low fat/good sense'' eating. The low carb is awesome for pulling weight off, but when *I* stopped to evulate it, I cannot maintain on that type, nor can I make that a lifestyle. So I'll be doing that starting tomorrow. :)

And now I have to get off here and get Elijah to bed. :)

Oh and hubby's name is Donald Eric. :)

Bayleysmom 08-18-2004 11:31 PM

Oh ya guys don't forget tomorrow is the mom show from 11-1 Pacific time so 1-3 for most of you!! Check it out and tell me what they talk about. It was pretty interesting last week. TTYL!
