Hi all. Roll, I'm glad that the party went well. You made a good decision. I agree with you - Judy, you do care for yourself well! That's so important for everyone, especially women who tend to take care of others rather than themselves. We can give more and better if we care for ourselves.
Like you Roll, when things are a mess I can't think, yet I put off cleaning all the time. Today I cleaned, sorted and caught up all day (rainy day!). The house feels like a castle now that it's clean (worn, but clean). I think everyone's good wishes have infiltrated my body because I feel so good. Back to school on Monday, but I think I'm prepared to try to not get "run over" by the job. I hope you'll keep posting Roll. We need to support one another. I enjoy hearing your thoughts and decisions regarding life. I also like to hear about your daughter-I know you are a loving and supportive mom. Take care. |
Hello, again, everyone - man am I tired - we, DH, the girls, and I got up EARLY this morning and headed towards my parents. DH works about 10 miles from their house, so, we dropped him off at work and then headed to my parents..........Got there around 9.........hung around until 11 or 11:30.......then DD called one of her friends, bcs she had left some video games, at said girls house........ran over there, grabbed the games and then headed for some lunch.........girls had some Krystal burgers and fries.....I, on the other hand, had Subway.........I had a Turkey sandwich on Honey Oat bread with LIGHT mayo, mustard, pickles and lettuce.....NO CHIPS, yeah me :-)
When DH got thru at his job we went and picked him up..........then we headed to Atlanta, which is about 40 minutes........got to my BIL's house.......hung around there for a bit, then BIL offered to buy us supper.........He took us to LongHorn Steakhouse.........I had a Grilled Chicken meal, with Steamed veggies and a mixed green salad with dressing on the side. I am SO proud of myself for eating the right things. :-) *pat on back* |
KClay good for you and the good choices.
I had gotten into some vinegar chips this weekend and the rest of the bag is going to my sisters today. We are headed for a birthday party. I will try to have a little of each thing and not go over board. I am going to try and not be to close to the picky foods before dinner. I made a pasta bow salad with some veggies to take over. I worked out at the gym for about 50 min today. It was a good workout and I did a variety of activities. Intake so far: cereal and 1/2 a bagel w/ lt. c.c. 1 banana 1/2 of a jalopenano roll w/ 1/2 cup of pasta salad, few chips!! Those chips are history I just can't have them in the house! Dinner? Party I am going to take a bottle of water with me. My intake with water is low today but I have time to get it up there. Tired glad your feeling good keep up the good effort. Rollmdl time to yourself again wow. Your friends so delightful and so supportive that is very important. Judy you inspired me to buy some seafood shirmp and scallops. Mondays dinner plans. |
good Morning All
kclay, good for you for making such good choices under stressful circumstances. I'm always tempted when I eat out but once I've made
a good choice, I usually feel pretty satisfied when I get my food. My daughter is still at her sleep-over and I have the morning to myself. I slept late and now I'm going to putter and work in the garden. I didn't make it to the gym last night. I was invited to the movies by two of my favorite friends. I usually can't go so this felt frivolous and self indulgent. I had a small popcorn and ice cream so I skipped dinner . I know it wasn't a wise choice but I did stop eating after the movie. That is progress. I don't feel great about having the snacks but I'm not saying, "What the ****, lets go for the whole kitchen! The damage has been done! Wheeee!!" This morning I'm having a chicken salad. for lunch an open faced tuna melt on 1/2 bagel grapefruit snack beef and vegetable stir fry for dinner Thanks everyone for being here. Roll |
Rollmdl sounds like you made some good choices yourself. Sometimes when you want something special if you don't have it you binge. So having the popcorn and ice cream wasn't so bad. And look at the control you had. Thats a funny thing when you start noticing the changes your making on your own. I remember when I started to first notice that only having a few chips v.s. no stop or having a cookie and being able to stop at one its different but a good sign. Your making some head way good for you! Years ago I went to get a bit of counseling on my food intake. The lady said if you crave a hot fudge sunade then have it in place of lunch. It does seem to balance out not to do daily but once in awhile isn't a bad thing. Keep up your good work.
I didn't do too bad at the party but did have some chicken riggies. I tried to only have a few pieces of the pasta but it was very good. Okay I had a small piece of cake too! But I did at least workout yesterday to balance it all out. Your open face tuna melt sounds great. Did you just do it in the mic? I think its sounds like something I'd enjoy. I think when we know ahead of time we are going to induldge a workout time is a smart move to balance the extras. Oh I am adding in sugar free jello it helps with the sweet tooth cravings. I used to have it and its good and quick. I plan to fit a walk in this evening around the lake the sun is out. Breakfast= 1/2 rye bagel w/ little lowfat c.c. 1 sm. banana Lunch= salad and fruit lunch at the college today with a client Snack= dried mix 1/4 cup Dinner= shirmp and scallops over lemon thin spaghetti/ broc. Snack sugar free jello |
Awesome job KClay - keep it up!!!! You'll feel soooo good! Great job Roll and Carol with limiting your treat food. I wish I had been so good at my son's birthday yesterday. I really went all out with the treats. I know why, my DH was in bad mood, nothing big (probably just the usual overwhelmed feeling parents get now and then) but it bothered me a lot. There was tension and I had to run the party and I felt stressed and I just gave in eating everything in sight. Even though my job tires me out, the structure is good for me. I had a good day today, not great eating day - but not an over the top day and I did manage to make it to the pool with my youngest son for a while.
The journey continues. I appreciate all your good ideas and support. This is a journey - not a direct flight. I'm learning a lot in the process. Take care all. p.s. I finally weighed myself - I'm up ten, time to head down. sw210 cw 180 gw150 |
Hey, I got to move my ticker down a few notches--I'm down two pounds since last week. I would've been happy not to have gained weight, so yaay for me :encore: I am exactly one-third of the way toward my year's goal. Since I know that I'll have a few plateaus along the way, I was hoping to lose more in the first four months of 2005. But I'll stay on course and keep my fingers crossed.
I did pretty well this weekend, but on Sunday, in the midst of a leisurely afternoon of housecleaning, I remembered that I was due at a friend's ordination ceremony, so I scrambled around to shower, dress up, find a gift and only arrive ten minutes late! I had more choices of what to wear than I would have had this winter, so that felt good. I couldn't figure out why I succumbed to a couple of cookies at the reception, until I realized that in my rushing around, I forgot to eat lunch. Today I steadfastly ignored a tray full of yummy-looking pastries for several hours during a meeting. I had a berry smoothie for b'fast, went to Curves, had an apple and almonds for morning snack, a salad w/seafood  for lunch, and a protein bar for dinner. I'll have roast pork and veggies for dinner. Carol--I've never been to Toronto, but I would like to go someday. It sounds like you are doing well! It's great to see that you're gettin' in the groove of the river walks. Kim, gimme five for making good choices :high: I have a hard time ignoring fries once they are within smelling distance. Tired--Re the exercise and hunger, the fitness magazines say to have a small snack (an apple or a piece of cheese) 30-45 minutes before exercising and a small snack afterwards, and plenty of extra water. I tend to get ravenous when I first start a new workout program, but after a few weeks my body adjusts to the new routine and the hunger pangs subside. It's kinda funny to see women leaving the Curves gym and eating as they walk down the street, or heading right to Chipotle! Roll, it must be so hard to do that 'dance' with your kids! I think you are wise to be conscious of balancing protecting them while beginning to let go. My parents kept a tight rein on me, so when I went off to college I was naive and immature--in short, I went buck wild! I had no practice in making social decisions, and by the time I figured out how to handle myself, I'd partied through a couple of expensive years at a private school.... see you all tomorrow! judy |
Goodmorning everyone,
I am up and trying to decide if I should go to the gym this a.m. or go for a walk around the lake after work. Oh its going to 65 here and sunny I guess walking outside makes sense for today. That way I won't have to rush around this morning and i am going to end my day near the lake area after my last client. If I do both lakes it is 4.0 miles but the one lake has less folks and by myself I just feel a bit funny going so I guess it will be just 2.5 miles today. Your all doing so well keep up the good work. Spring is here and Judy isn't it great going into the closet and having clothes fit a bit better? I have only pulled out a few spring clothes but so far so good! I can surely feel the difference. Judy that is good advice on snacking before exercise by 1/2 hr. or so. Maybe that will help me too! I kind of read something similar and did it for a while with calcium after exercise. The info. was calcium would build more muscle which in turn raises your metabolism level. Tired remember before you used to pack up some goodies for work to keep on hand for when you wanted a snack. I picked that up from you and keep some stuff in a drawer. I have granola bars at 110 cal. some bulk dried seeds etc., nuts. When the coworkers are munching other stuff it helps if I have something stored away for me. Stressful times are hard and down times thats when I get in trouble. If I can keep busy with my hands quilting, knitting, reading I snack less. Recently if I catch myself early on I redirect myself to another area of the house where no snacks are around. Crazy but it works. I need to keep focused on going forward too! This week is my grandsons first commuinion. I am hosting it as my house is layed out with an open kitchen livingroom and fits more folks in one area. I am going to order a cake an Italian pastries now that will be a hard one to stay away from. So I guess I will do some extra exercise after the get together that day! Balance is the name of the game! Rollmdl I think the advice Judy gave is smart with raising kids. Sounds like you have a good handle on things so far keep up the good work. Intake plans: 1/2 bagel w/ lt. c.c., cereal w/ splash of milk, coffee cantalope salad w/ almonds, croutons few, blk olives , 1 baked sweet pot./ marm. apple before my walk grilled burgers on a 1/2 jalopeno roll w/ onion/ veggies jello sugar free / cantalope |
Hi all. Judy, you're eating such a great diet. Congrats on meeting your 1/3 goal and loosing two lbs. I can tell you have the resolve. You will get there.
Carol - you're making so many positive changes. I need to make some of the same ones. I know your resolve, Carol and Judy, will rub off soon. I'm still fighting to get back on the horse - but I will get there. The positives today were that I skipped the cheese cake in the teachers' lounge, I drank lots of water and I rode my bike to and from school (not far, but better than nothing). I also had a delicious yogurt smoothie with fresh strawberries, banana and nonfat yogurt. The downside was that I worked late, became ravenous (no healthy snacks available) and dived into some despicable sandwiches that were lying around. I need to make a run to Trader Joes and stock up on healthy alternatives. Basically I have to get on a more positive routine and I feel the energy for this emerging. Keep telling me all your success stories - I love to hear them and I'm gaining (I mean loosing) from your motivation. Take care and have a nice night. |
Exercise - went to Curves for 30 minutes
Foods given up - the rest of the starbursts and the rest of my coke! Calorie intake (so far) - a meager 362 calories. I need to eat!!! There's nothing here!!! Today I feel rejuvenated, and motivated. I really feel like I can lose this weight. Or maybe that's the woozy feeling from not eating. I didn't do it on purpose, my dad just needs to go shopping tonight ;) |
Welcome Lateralus98! A trip to China sounds like a lot of fun. Smart move on making sure you eat skipping meals isn't a good thing for anyone because you lose muscle wt. not fat. Keep up the good work and exercise is so important when trying to lose.
Tiredoffat you will get there it takes time to get into the swing of things. I do feel good now but boy it took me a long time to get in the right mood. Now that I am there I hope to never turn back. Because if nothing else I feel so much healthier. The girls at work got into my drawer of healthy snacks. They say their going to replace them. I don't really mind so much but when I go to get something there better be a snack for me. I try and bring in stuff to leave so when they eat other stuff I have a choice. Good for you skipping the cheese cake, the sandwich was better than that would of been give yourself some credit. Rollmdl had a open face tuna the other day. I am going to try that for lunch today. I love having variety it keeps you going in the right direction. I did make it to the lake yesterday and did 2.5 miles I think it maybe a little more than that. Because I was really going strong and it took me 40 min. gardening after dinner. On thurs. I will go to the gym. I need to get there at least 2 or 3 times even with the lake stuff. My trip is coming up soon and I can't wait to go away and have some fun with the girls. I won't be counting many calories and will have a few drinks. But on a good note there is a lot of walking involved, indoor pool and workout center. I will make use of them. This weekend is busy with a bridal shower, communion party. So I am preplanning a bit of extra exercise, and watching my cals. Judy and Rollmdl hope your having a good week. Intake: 2 poached eggs, 1 slice rye toast dry, potatoes = 350 cal. , coffee and water open faced tuna on a 1/2 bagel w/ mozz melted on, yogurt 350 dinner= meatloaf, asparagus, beets and a salad snack= cantalope slices |
Today I am going to go walking if it doesn't rain. I plan on going to the gym on friday morning. Yesterday I gave in to the devil a bit! Instead of meatloaf I made goulash and bought warm Italian bread. We needless to say the bread part I over did. As far as the other I had a normal portion. I hope to be making some better choices today. I am going to think before I eat! Otherwise it was a pretty good day.
Hope everyone is doing well. I planted my first flower for the year on Tues. it felt good to get out there in the yard. I have very large flower beds. I started off doing little ones and got carried away. But it is pretty if I can only keep up. So I put in a purple/blue rose bush. Increase water intake again today. I am trying to drink around 80 oz. at least Intake: banana, coffee, cereal w/ milk Snack: yogurt Lunch; 1/2 of an orange pepper filled w/ tuna, side salad w/ cheese, croutons, almonds Dinner: grilled chicken, blue cheese, celery, salad w/ wing sauce dressing cantalope slices. |
I'm here, physically, but mentally I'm not - I don't feel well - I have a sore throat, my ears are hurting and ringing - and I can't quit coughing - I'm going to crawl back into bed and get some sleep
|
Hi all. KClay sorry to hear you're sick. Take care of yourself. Getting rest is the right thing to do.
Carol, I'm sure you'll get right back on track as you always do. The damage was certainly not too bad. You kept the meal portion accurate and just ate a bit more bread. You're doing so so well. Gardening is a great past time. In the past I've really enjoyed it. Thanks for the words of encouragement. Interesting eating day. I had three good meals before 3 including a bowl of cereal, bagel w/cc and tuna sandwich. When I got home during my "want to eat everything in site" time I wasn't even hungry. Maybe I need to eat a bit more during the day so I'm not so ravenous during my most trying time of the day. I'm always trying to find ways to improve that time of day. The morning through the school day I'm fine. It's after school when I'm craving "me" time that I really want to dig in. Off to a my son's ball game tonight. Two days down and two to go until my husband gets home. I really need him around here with a house full of boys. Thanks for being here. |
Hi, Lateralus98! I go to Curves, too. What do you think of it?
Kim, I hope you're feeling better :tired: I'm struggling a bit with allergies, but you sound like you've got something nastier going on. Get some rest! Tired, was that the sound of a light bulb being switched on? Your post is actually a great example of why we're supposed to log our eating, and how we're feeling. Good for you! Carol, you sound like you're really doing great. How will you keep up the momentum over a busy social weekend? I had my river walk this morning instead of in the evening, and it was really great. I had a peach smoothie for b'fast, almonds for a snack, salad w.tuna and a cup of beef-mushroom soup for lunch, and a protein bar for afternoon snack. I also had baby shower cake this afternoon :nono: No evening snack for me, just a Lean Cuisine chicken and something for dinner. Going to NYC tomorrow. I'll check in on Sunday. judy |
Thanks everyone - I'm feeling "some" better - but still not up to par - being sick does help with the not eating ;)
|
kclay hope today your feeling better that bug tends to hang on a bit. My grandkids had it a few weeks ago. Lots of rest it as you know makes you feel so tired out.
Tiredoffat try to take an apple to eat on your way home or have some veggies to pick on ready in the ref. I have had a hard time with that also and after workouts. Judy I think was the one who said eat an apple before a workout or some cheese or something it helps. Ck it out! Glad your noting your changes and info its important. I didn't get to walk yesterday but plan a gym trip this afternoon kind of a get out a bit early due to working a little later a couple of nights. Judy this weekend I am going to socialize alot so I am stepping up the exercise. If the weather is good I will be walking around the lake in the a.m. on saturday. I plan on trying each food I desire but in a bit more limited fashion than my past. Because I am hosting the communion gathering at my home I can add a few healthy choices in too.I am planning on exercising sunday after all the folks leave my house. I am glad you asked it got me thinking. Have fun in NYC. Rollmdl I miss yah! Intake to be added later I am not sure of my foods today but will attempt to make haealthy choices. |
Good evening all. Just checking in to get my daily dose of great health ideas. I know it will start to rub off consistently soon. Have a great night.
|
Goodmorning everyone,
Tiredoffat I think you are on the right track just keep going forward. Hope you are off to a nice start for your weekend. This was a very busy week at work lots of things going on and a bit stressful. It was nice for my supervisor to give me a compliment about my work actually two times in one week. I am off until Tues.. I took monday as I was asked to attend a meeting at school for one of the kids. So I figured its at 12:20 what the heck might as well take the day. I have such a busy weekend to start with so extended it didn't take much effort. I just started my day with a bowl of raisin bran cereal and milk. The shower starts at 11:00 so this should hold me over. I am not even going to guess the intake today so I will post later on. I made a homemade pizza last night lots of veggies but ate a piece of pepperoni that devil I tell you just gets to me. Still not the best choice of foods. Talk to you all later and have a great day! No loss today problem too much bread, pasta the other day and pizza most likely didn't help. I will try to eat healthy even at the shower the scale is my wake up call and balance to keep in ck. I really need to not only journal here but on a sheet of paper to get back on track!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
Well the shower food was not that tempting but the Italian cookies were. I had 2 small ones and then a small piece of cake. Okay now I feel better that I got that off my chest. The rest of the day my intake was okay.
Today is another get together then its all over until Friday when I go to the Mexican party at a friends. Oh this isn't so easy as I thought it would be. This afternoon after my guest leave I am going walking if we don't have rain or going to the gym yesterday I skipped. On a good note I took out my spring clothes and was going through them to take some for a garage sale. Some of the sooo tight shirts from last year fit fine this time around. I was pleased with that and the dress I wore to the shower yesterday was an old one but fit great. So at least I can feel and see the difference. I know I will get through all these social events. Intake start of the day! Oatmeal and coffee no toast Hope your all having a nice weekend. The shower gifts were very nice yesterday and made me want to redo my kitchen. She is going to make a great wife and loves to cook a variety of things lots of cookbooks. I have my own little collection of those. |
Well I'm feeling better, thank goodness - maybe all this rain we've been getting has helped too
I need groceries SO bad - but, alas, I have to wait on DH to get home since he has the money :) |
Hi all. KClay glad to hear that you're feeling better. Carol - great job fitting into the clothes. Once all these parties pass I know you'll be on track again. You're in a good place and have a great momentum going.
All is well here. My dh is back, thank God! Lots of soul searching lately - I'm not sure what I'm looking for, but I'm looking for something. I should be at the gym but I'm hoping to do a lot of intense cleaning today. How do you all keep your houses clean - daily schedule? pattern? Seems like mine is always a mess and that makes me crazy. It's been 13 years without any updates so the time is now to get it cleaned up. Take care and have a good weekend. |
Tired thanks for the words of advice and you are probably right. I hope! Anyways because I was hosting todays party I cleaned last night and this morning. I have only lived in this house for 10 years. But its amazing what one can collect and I think there is still a few things packed from when I moved in! I am going to clean out and take stuff over to a friends that is having a moving sale. I started to clean out clothes and dishes and stuff I don't need. I read somewhere to go around on a daily basis and just take a little basket pick up stuff that need to be put away and do it. I guess that would work. Only two of us live here and my house still gets dirty not bad but cluttered up quickly. Those little people whom come to play give it the lived in look. I do use a bedroom as their play room but from time to time they run out in the livingroom and love to run around my island. Someday they'll be too old and won't want to come to visit. That will be a sad day! Anyways as my daughter says if you don't use get rid of it. So I am trying to do that with out the dh knowing he is a pack rat worse than me. Good luck with your cleaning take one room at a time and get started with redoing it. I am luck as my son helps keep my house updated. The girls are taking an antique tub and making it into a pond for me in my flower bed. It will have a little fountain should be cool! The tub use to have claw feet on it so its kind of oval with a lip all around it. Their both very creative and together we all will have our hands into this project. It is my mothers day gift. The pump isn't cheap, that I KNOW.
Take care I am not even trying to track my day today it was just off no sense. Monday is the start of my new week |
Good morning everyone well its monday time to get back into the groove of healthy choices and some exercise. Today I am going to track myself a bit closer than I have been. I worked pretty hard on my goal and a couple of parties later feel the need to get serious again about my intake. I have another party on friday so I need to eat good all week to balance things out. Also to get that exercise in 4 times for the week. So here is my goal this week 1500 cal. or less a day, exercise 4 times and increase my water intake and yogurt.
Intake: oatmeal , little dash of br.sugar, cinnamon, coffee snack; yogurt burrito for lunch, 1 gr. apple snack: almonds 15 dinner: asparagus steamed w/ little vinegar and olive oil, steak grilled, salad w/ romaine lettuce and cukes. snack: sugar free jello |
Hi Carol. Thanks for the cleaning tips. How did you do today? Your girls, by the way, sound very creative. I started off the day with a great one-hour early morning bike ride. I rode hard and it felt great, plus the world is so beautiful early in the morning before most people are up. The rest of the day I ate quite a bit but most of it was healthy so that's good. I wish you well tonight. I'm planning to go to bed early. Now that my dh is back home life is not so stressed. I do appreciate him. Take care.
|
Tiredoffat I didn't get to the gym yesterday as planned but this a.m. I am going. I see how once we are out of our routine how easy it is to slip back. Yesterday My lunch wasn't filling and when I got home I couln't wait to eat. That needs to be adjusted for sure.Good for you going off for a mornig ride. It must of been pretty peaceful and a super start to the day. At least your intake was healthy I managed to slip a piece of cake in but now its all out of the house and the chips too! My daugher is taking the hubby and I out for dinner tonight for helping out so much with our grandson. His dad has taken a promotion and has been working out of town a lot so we pitch in. But he is so good its really a good time for us. So I will order something that isn't too bad and avoid the good fries we are going to a good hamburger joint. It is called Zebbs they have a lot of different things there so I will ck it out. I also have some training today for 3 hours and their serving lunch OH! Well my breakfast is healthy 1/2 a bagel w/ lt. cc and 1 bowl of Kashia cereal to start off my day. I also have started to use the stairs again at work I kind of got out of that habit. It adds a bit of extra calorie burning. Your right all the kids are very creative. Oh I finished my friends quilt last night that felt so good. It was a king size biggest I have ever done and I never want to do one that big again. It was made of retro aprons her collection and bordered with her red ck'd table cloth cut in strips and backed with tea table cloths. I was never so glad to have something finished. Designing it with her choices and using 26 aprons wow! Well gotta fly if I am going to make it to the gym.
Have a SUPER day! Where is everyone else???????????????????? |
I'm here, just not awake - didn't get in the bed until 4am and now I'm back up again, to take daughter's to school - I will be back later on this afternoon
|
Hi all. How are you? Yes, Carol it is so easy to get off track. I know you'll get back on though. That's so nice of your daughter to recognize your help. I'm happy that you finished the quilt.
KClay why did you get to bed so late? You must be tired today. I took the bike to work today - about a one mile ride and then I took about a 3 mile ride home - very nice. Not a lot of exercise, but certainly better than nothing. I'm getting into the bike which is good because that's what I'm doing on the 6/11 triathlon. Eating was ok - could be better. I had a great chocolate treat for only 80 cals tonight - TCBY bars - very tasty. Thanks for being here - exercise definately makes you want to get in shape and helps you to crave the healthy foods. I hope to get out for another early morning ride tomorrow. I'll let you know. Take care. |
I have a bad habit - I don't go to bed until 3 maybe 4 - I've done this for as long as I can remember - Even when I was a teen - Needless to say, Study Hall was used for napping ;)
|
Tiredoffat your right when you start to exercise it all kind of comes together again. I feel that way too! In the past I got into a habit for awhile checking my schedule and noting when I would workout. That way I already had it in the schedule. After awhile I didn't need it anymore but after my slip into a few extras now I need to do it again. Sometimes looking back to what worked before we got off course is so helpful. The biking sounds good to me. Have you ever tried a spin class at the gym? One of my coworkers asked me and another girl to join him and his girl friend on the 12th. I haven't made up my mind as of yet. Only because I would have to take a 1/2 of day off they want to go during work hours. But it suppose to be lots of fun. Here they shut off the lights to dim and have different music throughout the ride and he says you go at your own pace. So if its around ck it out.
My intake wasn't too bad yesterday a bit of pasta but at dinner last night I ordered a salad w/ dressing on the side instead or fries. Thats a hard thing when you go to that place but I did it. After I did have choc. cookie but I figured at least I worked out in the a.m. so I am sure I balanced it out. At least it was one and not 4. Kclay wow I am an early to bad early up kind of girl. I wouldn't beable to stay up that late unless I was out at a party or away somewhere on vac. I'd like to stay up later but just can't do it my body is so routined. How do you do it? |
Intake: honey nut cheerios w/ milk, 1/2 bagel w/ lt. cc coffee
Snack: yogurt lunch: salad romaine w/ cuke/ cheddar cheese / tuna/ olive oil/ vinegar apple, Dinner: fish baked w/ lemon pepper seasoning and a bit of butter 1 baked sweet pot. cinn. little dib of br. sugar/ bit of butter fresh veggies steamed w/ dash of vinegar Snack: fruit |
cacmsc - Now, if I were on vacation - I go to bed early, mainly, bcs I get up early and have to stay up - I don't know how/why I do it - I've done this ever since I was a young teen - I would stay up until midnight, or later, talking to my friend on the phone(we wouldn't phone until 11:01pm) - I believe that is how it all started - and it has continued on - when I was working at the HS there were times I went to bed around 9pm, but ended up awake by 1am - and would end up awake for the rest of the day - My time clock is definantly messed up - and at my age, I guess it won't ever be right again.
|
Hey, Kim, I see that you've got another grandbaby due right around now....how's it going?
Carol, it looks like you're doing well, congratulations! How long were you working on that quilt? Tired--I have become a poor housekeeper. I used to focus on keeing the kitchen clean every evening, and spend Saturday afternoons on the rest of the place. I frequently end up working or traveling over the weekends, and so now cleaning is catch-as-catch can. Also back in the day, people were more likely to pop over unannounced, and I grew up the old school way, where you were humiliated for people to see your dirty house :nono: Now I'm trying to get back into a weekend routine , because I am happier when I'm not surrounded by clutter. These past few days have been okay, but not sterling. Today I had strawberries and a piece of cheese for b'fast, apple and almonds for AM snack, salad w/ham for lunch, and a protein bar this afternoon. I also had some lovely Godiva chocolate, and I didn't even try to talk myself out of it. I'm a little frustrated that I have shin splints, so my legs really hurt. It's a beautiful evening for walking, but I guess I should back off for a bit. Anyway, have a great evening! |
Judy - mom is still pg - we're hoping she goes tonight, or tomorrow - I just wish he'd hurry up ;)

Judy good to hear from you and hope your last trip had a little time for some fun. The quilt started to form last October. It paid for some of my expenses when in Seattle. But I was under pressure to get it done and that was a good thing or I'd still be working on it today. In the end it looked really nice but not a project I would ever want to do again the biggest ever for me King size. The design alone took at least 6 hours just to prefigure it out. When you don't have pattern its tough. My next quilt is my grandaughter Brookes which I started to work on about 2 years ago. It is coming out and if I look at it enough it gets me jump started to work on it. Hers is about 1/3 of the way done. It is made of pretty pinks, yellows, lt. blue, lilac and is very girly. She is going to be 6 in June so hopefully it gets together. I have a really pretty pink which is called pink angel very soft color which I will border it in.
Yesterday my calories were up 1700 it was some ice cream I slipped in for my night snack. So today I am going to work on my calories. The water intake has been good this week. My exercise not as good as normal but I am going to make my 4 times this week. Sounds like all of us are struggling a bit. Must be the weather got to blame something. At any rate the weather is changing and suppose to be beautiful so I have no more excuses. Tired hope you doing well. Rollmdl if your out there we miss you! Julie you too! Kclay I wish I had just a little of your staying up late. Hows your intakes going? I seem to be in a little slump. Have a great day. Intakes planned: 2 poached eggs w/ pot. rye toast dry celery sticks w/ little peanut butter Lunch= salad romaine lettuce w/ croutons/ cheese/ almonds/cukes and 2 for you salad dressing blue cheese, yogurt Snack= green apple Dinner= pasta and sauce/ salad w/ olive oil and vinegar Snack=? something healthy |
My intake, yesterday, was only like 400 calories - got a late start on the day - then had to head out of town for a minor crisis - so only stopped to eat around 7pm - I had
Green beans, squash casserole, small salad with FF dressing and 1oz of Roast beef My staying power, hmmmm, LOL, so THAT'S what my DH meant ;) I'm truely a lazy person - I may stay up to all wee hours, but I do end up getting around 12hrs of sleep, just not consistent. Nothing planned for today, UNLESS g'baby decides to show his cute little face *crossing fingers* |
Good evening! The days are moving so so fast - very busy time of year. I've been making many healthy choices and a few not so healthy choices. I enjoy reading about your great strategies. Have a good night.

Yesterday pretty much stayed on schedule except for lunch we ate out. I had chinese and prob. not the best choice. But I did stick to my intake the rest of the time and didn't have anything after dinner last night. This week I will admit exercise just has been tough for some reason I find myself fighting it all the way. I am goign to get there this morning before work. Yesterday other than the way to the office and in and out up the stairs and a little garden work no real exercise. So I decided to go this a.m. and on saturday.
Take care and Tired at least your making some changes and thats better than not doing it. You also have been riding your bike to work and around town. So give yourself a little credit some change is better than no change. They say if we do something for 10 days straight it becomes a habit and routine. |
Thanks Carol. You are so supportive. I appreciate it.
Good job getting back on track after the lunch out. I'm having a lot of company on Monday so I'll probably do some power cleaning tomorrow morning. Tonight I'm going to bed early. Take care. |
What a weekend! The weather was beautiful and I got to do some yard work. The gardens are looking good. I think the wet spring just gave everything a jump start. Well our site here is pretty slow what do you think?
I tried to walk around the lake yesterday but they had started to charge the 6 dollars to get in on weekends. So I didn't do my walking but helped with my moms gardens. That is something we do every year as a family take care of my moms yard. She was pleased. I loved all my gifts fromt the kids but the phone call from Hawaii was just what I needed. It was good to hear from my son it had been awhile. He is really loving it all. He told me all about it and sounds extremly happy. Today I am going to eat health and exercise. I need to take a good step forward this week and jump back into this journey. Intake this a.m. ww almond crisp 150 cal. splaxh of milk Snack: yogurt Lunch: salad w.turkey breast, tomatoes, cheese, low cal blue ch. dres. Snack: green apple Dinner: grilled hamburg w/ cheese and a jalopeno roll , veggies Tiredoffat have you done the bike athon? |
